VLAN and Exchange server

Hello world

We need help on our Exchange Server configuration and VLAN.
Since I am a beginner in the configurations of VIRTUAL LAN.
We use SG300 Cisco switch and the Exchange Server.

We have 2 network cards on our server, with 1 having a static IP address of Public (internet) for the internet which is directly connected to our ISP modem (complete with the IP address, subnet, default gateway, and DNS mask), the other NETWORK adapter a static IP address of Local (intranet) for the LAN (with an IP address and the subnet mask).

Our problem is that we cannot add a gateway on the 2nd NIC (intranet) of conflicts with the gateway on the map of others because he said.

We want to add a default gateway on the 2nd NIC (intranet) have become accessible to other VLANs.

How the server are accessible to others different VLANS on our network?

What will be the best approach on this?

Thanks in advance.

J

You must add routes to your windows, routing table.

So if your server is in VLAN 10.10.10.0/24 and has the IP address of 10.10.10.2 and your router is 10.10.10.1 then you can add routes to all your VLAN by adding networks and their routing through 10.10.10.1.

For example, in your Windows command prompt, you must type:

Pei route add 10.10.11.0 MASK 255.255.255.0 10.10.10.1
Pei route add 10.10.12.0 MASK 255.255.255.0 10.10.10.1
Pei route add 10.10.13.0 MASK 255.255.255.0 10.10.10.1

This would make your computer access all VLAN interns as well as make it accessible from VLANs.

  • SBS Server 2003 and Exchange Server - need access, but don't have HARD drive

    Hello

A couple of years our sever dies completely, but we kept the drive HARD, but unfortunately not the CD with the software or the software key. So, I now have 2HDD, the original boot partition and the other with the data. now as well clean and fully functional and connected to an old desk. I can see everything beautiful, but I can't boot from the original boot drive (I tried simply disconnecting desktop boot disk and windows for 1 second logo shows a d, then chucks back me to the initial charge (BACK?).) The point is that I need to boot into SBS2003 with exchange server installed in order to access a handful of old emails that have become extremely important, as well as to run an old version of Filemaker server, which can run on any newer operating system

I tried, by the way, a converter for swap files and I can see the directories but I think that, unless I paid $xxx.00 for something, which I can't afford now, so I will not get the emails and all attachments back.

So my question is this - is anyway that I can use the original startup disk in a new hardware environment to restore sbs 200 and Exchange if you work? I paid huge sums for both, so I think I should be able to use it again!

    Thank you very much

  • Repeated loss of connection between Outlook and Exchange server

    Hello

I am running Windows 7 beta ultimate evaluation copy Build 7100.

On that, I installed Office 2007, part of which is Outlook (12.0.6514.5000) SP2 MSO (12.0.64251000).

I do the usual Windows updates and recently, I noticed that my Outlook has been updated as when I turn it off, I have a new Outlook "grey" with a red 'x' icon in this document, which disappears when the software is finally off.

The problem is that now Outlook repeatedly loses the connection with the Exchange Server in my (work) and I have to close Outlook in order to reconnect and reactivate.

It only happens when I'm at home - not at work (where I am actually on the internal network).

    It's very frustrating.

  • VersaMail and Exchange Server

    Hello

I currently own a Treo 755 p with Sprint. I tried to set up my v3.5.5 Versamail with Exchange Activesync, and I keep getting errors when I try to put in place.

When I set up my account and click on test, it seems OK.

But when I click on SYNC, I get the following error message:

    "AirSAMStateMachine.c 2214 6 HTTP/1.1 403 forbidden to request Connection: Keep-Alive Date: Fri, 28 Aug 2009 03:04:49 GMT Content - type: you.

I already know that if I go to the web app on my palm and put the address that I'm trying to get to work:

    htpps://webmail. Fiserv.com

When I go on the web on my laptop and enter the same address as the address is automatically changed to:

    https://webmail.Fiserv.com/exchweb/bin/auth/OWALogon.asp?URL=https: //webmail.fiserv.com/Exchange&reason=0

Any ideas please?  I am open to using ANY player of mail. I know that a lot of people in my company has access to email using their PDA (Blachberry), but I want to keep my Palm.

  • VLAN and exchanges

I have what I thought would be a simple but project have been able to solve the problem.

I would like to create a unique vSwitch. No connection to a physical network card. Then create switchis groups of ports in the vSwitch with ID vlan different. One of the port groups would affect all the streams on the other VLAN.

    So I have

    vSwitch1

    | - PortGroup VLAN01 - VLAN ID:All with a vm attached.

    | - PortGroup VLAN10 - VLAN ID:10 with two joint vm

    | - PortGroup VLAN20 - VLAN ID:20 with two vm is attached.

What I thought was going to happen are that two virtual machines on VLAN10 would be able to communication (they can), two virtual machines on VLAN20 would be able to communication (and they can) and vm / VLAN10 VLAN20 could NOT communicate with each other (and they can't). So far that's what I'm looking for.

The catch: I thought the virtual machine on VLAN01 would be able to communicate with any vm to VLAN10 VLAN20 and vice versa, vm VLAN10 and VLAN20 could communicate with the virtual machine on VLAN01. But they can't. I thought that's what the VLANID 'All' was all about? What I'm missing here? What I need, it's still possible?

If it's important, all virtual machines are running CentOS 5.5

    Thank you

    Don

    Hi, CSC.

I may be a little rusty on VLAN but I'll have a crack. When a package leaves the port group obtaining the id tag vlan. If you need to have a router in place in order to take root between the VLAN different (even on the same virtual switch). I'm a little uncertain, when you say that you set the port group to 'all' I don't remember see this before (but I'll stick to correct) I don't know if it is left blank it will not mark the packets at all.

A simple way to fix this would be to create a software multihomed router. There are loads on the store of the device. To be the homiest, you aren't 1 million base DMZ miles.

Don't know if there is a version of the sphere of the present, but it should not changed all that much if at all in the doc below.

  • Conversion error of an Exchange Server and a server files to 95%

    Hello

I have problems when I am trying to convert an Exchange Server and a file server. Two of them are physical servers that I'm trying to convert an advanced vsphere ESX infrastructure. The problem is that when the conversion process reach 95% fail and sometimes it says that the physical server restarts. Is there a recommendation to convert and Exchange Server. Because I also convert a SQL Server, and I don't know what to do.

I tell you that these conversions have tried to end the two server into production. Could this be the problem? I should stop all Microsoft Exchange services before you begin to convert the machine? Somewhere I found it is recommended all users to be disconnected from the server when you try to convert a machine, but I don't know if it's a suggestion or it is an institution. I thought that maybe the problem could be that the Exchange database cannot be suspended and that is because the process fails.

Can someone help me with this problem? On the other hand, is there another application that is used to convert a physical machine in virtual? I only know the VMware Converter.

    Thank you.

    Warlock.

While making the P2V conversion, it has always recommended to stop the services associated with the database, tools and application. This helps the conversion process ends without errors.

Have you checked that the vmware converter logs, errors it gives while doing the conversion?

For P2V conversion it is company known tool Platespin.Refer the link for more details below.

  • Exchange Server 2003 Exchange Services stopped working.

    Hello!

I have a Windows SBS (2003), which is my domain controller and Exchange Server (2003) is installed. Arrived on site this morning only to discover that Outlook was not opening. Check the Small Business Server and it was running. However, most of the Exchange Services stopped running:

I tried to restart the services, but they kept not. I even rebooted a couple of times in hopes that I get lucky but luck was not on my side. Here is the error message and the system logs, I got the failure:

Windows could not start the Microsoft Exchange Information Store on the Local computer. For more information, see the system event log. If it is a non-Microsoft service, contact the service vendor and refer to service 0-specific error code.

    In the system event log:

    The event ID: 7024

Description: The Microsoft Exchange Information Store service stopped with the error special service 0 (0x0).

I also have a couple of events in the Application log:

Description: "The analysis MAD thread was unable to read its configuration from the directory service, error ' 0x8007007e".

I tried to uninstall and reinstall the SMTP Protocol, but it did not help. I also watched some wires, but they seem not directly related to my question.

When I tried to start the STMP service, it is to get the error message: failed to start the service SMTP Simple Mail Transfer Protocol () on the Local computer. Error 126: The specified module could not be found.

    It's the system log:

I have TrendMicro Worry Free Business installed on the server but I also exclusion of files/folders to the Exchange folders / file (s). At this setting for a few years and nothing has changed. No update or something has been done since the last time it was running.

Although I have included one or two mistakes, I got messages and logs for all services failed.

-Very well, so I'm moderately new to the DROID, but I'm not new phones or technology.  I know that the DROID and exchange server do not have the best time together but I was wondering if there is a setting somewhere that allows me to receive full email when I use the built in DROID Exchange program.  Now when I get an email that seems to receive the first X number of characters, then the rest is not here.  It comes out about paragraphs, words worth.  Y at - it a setting that I am missing or that's how it is with everyone.  I see a lot of people download hit, what I'll do if I have to, but I'm a poor College kid, the last thing I want to do is to drop $ 20 on something that I think the phone should already so.  Any ideas or suggestions?  Thank you.

  • Exchange server and Surface RT, can I use Mail app to connect to the Exchange Server for email (the same question is for contacts or people and calendar)?

    Hello

Our company uses an Exchange Server for email, contacts and calendar.

Can I use Mail app to connect to the Exchange Server for email (the same question is for contacts or people and calendar)?

    Kind regards

    Matej

You must install the SSL certificate before connect you to the Regional service, the easiest way is to go to "desktop" IE10 open, go to the exchange server web access page, click on the notification of "certificate error" red and view / install the store "certificate authorities roots of trust." Then, make sure that your surface RT complies with the minimum requirements of security then connect to the exchange via the mail application server.

  • Running Exchange Server application of hotfixes and service pack to the server mailbox without loss of data during the restore?

    People,

I would like to know how can I safely ask the Exchange Server service pack or cumulative update for the server role mailbox (no DAG) without loss of e-mail during the downtime and roll back the snapshot?

If I can do the following:

    1. stop all Exchange Server services.

    2. unplug the vNIC on the mailbox server

3 take a snapshot of the virtual machine

    4. apply the service Pack of Exchange Server / Cumulative Update or Windows Update

    5 reset

6 reconnect the vNIC, if the server online with no problem, commit / remove the snapshot, if not, then disconnect the vNIC followed to restore.

would be - this sense being or support for Vmware and Microsoft http://www.vmware.com/files/pdf/exchange-2010-on-vmware-support-and-licensing-guide.pdf ?

If yu have any other suggestions, please let me know here.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hey AlbertWT,

I'll start by saying that I would not do.  Microsoft is explicit that snapshots are not supported with Exchange when virtualized.  See below (from Exchange 2013 Virtualization: help Exchange 2013):

Some hypervisors include features to take snapshots of virtual machines. Virtual machine snapshots capture the State of a virtual machine while it is running. This feature allows you to take several snapshots of a virtual machine and then return the virtual machine to a previous state by applying a snapshot to the virtual machine. However, virtual machine snapshots aren't application aware, and using them can have unintended and unexpected consequences for a server application that manages the data of the State, such as Exchange. Accordingly, making snapshots of the virtual machine to a virtual guest computer Exchange only is not supported.

Even if we ignore the statement of support from shadow copies that isn't always a good idea.  Here are some things to consider.

    (1) cumulative updates for the Exchange to modify the Active Directory schema.  Roll back the snapshot on the mailbox server is not undo changes made to RFA, which could cause functional supported questions.  See this link to give you an idea of how there is pattern AD updates in each CU Exchange and service pack: the Active Directory in Exchange 2013 schema changes: Exchange 2013 help

    (2) it is possible to send to come during the time you test the update, and if you need to restore you would need a plan to retrieve this e-mail.  Third party services may work, or you can prevent the email to come in your environment completely during this period, but these aren't the ideal solutions.

A much better solution would be to create a lab environment that is isolated from the production.  You can either take clones of your Exchange and AD VMs and put them in a closed network environment, or create a laboratory and import the structure of your ad if it matches the production.  I think it is a much better way to test than to try to rely on stereotypes in production.

    Hope that helps!

  • Installation MS AD and Exchange Connector on a single connector server.

    Hello

I have to install MS AD and Exchange on a single connector server.

I configured and installed this con .NET Server as directed by the documentaion as it works well.

With regard to the installation of the 11.1.1. MS AD & Exchange Connector on this server, the oracle documentation says to both of them that:

Starting from the installation media, copy and extract the contents of the bundle/ActiveDirectory.Connector-1.1.0.6380.zip file in the CONNECTOR_SERVER_HOME directory.
    http://docs.Oracle.com/CD/E22999_01/ doc.111 /e20347/deploy.htm#BGBHFEHF

Starting from the installation media, copy and extract the contents of the bundle/Exchange.Connector-2.0.0.1.zip file in the CONNECTOR_SERVER_HOME directory.
    http://docs.Oracle.com/CD/E22999_01/ doc.111 /e27258/deploy.htm#BGBDFHDD

I have server connector installed on the machine as C:\Program Files\Identity Connectors\Connector Server\

So I think that above Server Connector DIR will be the CONNECTOR_SERVER_HOME

    My query is:

    (1) for the installation of a single connector (say AD), I have to just extract content of ActiveDirectory.Connector - 1.1.0.6380.zip and paste them on the C:\Program Files\Identity Connectors\Connector Server\?

    (2) what can I do, f I have to install the Exchange Connector as well? I noticed that bundle of Exchange and the AD have common files.

Kindly let me know the solution/steps, or something I can do bad

    Edited by: 902488 Sep 26, 2012 12:04 AM

    I think you're talking about files such as ActiveDirectory.Connector.dll, ActiveDirectory.Connector.pdb, Interop.ActiveDs.dll, Shell.ScriptExecutorFactory.dll and THIRDPARTYREADME.txt.
They are ABSOLUTELY identical files for the two AD and Exchange clusters. There is therefore no problem.

  • And connector server AD, Exchange, AS400

    Hello world

I want to put in place the connectors for the AD, Exchange, target AS400 systems.
I tried to implement these system three target.

I have a few questions about the connectors?
    1. is server connector is required for AD, Exchange, AS400? If it's the need for tagert systems is necessary?
Can you explain the connection between connector and connector server?
    2. can you connector server installed on the machine target AS400 AS400?

    Thank you.
    Best regards.

I would say, install two connector server an AD and exchange and other for AS400. You can install on the target systems, but not mandatory. You can have the autonomous system for server connector as well. One thing to consider is, it should be in the same field of the target system.
