VMware, Windows XP, network access

Is it possible to access \\vmwarehost\share from WinPE? I copied the drivers of VMware in the PE image and successfully, I can ping back & forth. I can share a directory manually from the windows machine, but involves changing the permissions.

Whereas the sharing is available once started down to the BONE of the VMware image, is there a way to just map the \\vmware-host\share in WinPE? When cmd > net use Z: \\vmware-host\Downloads, it indicates the network path was not found. Z:\Downloads is mapped continuously in the VMware image settings.

Notice that in the upper part of the Ko he say «Well that VMware Tools does not support Windows Preinstallation Environment.» However you can take advantage of the specific drivers of VMware Tools, such as (improved) vmxnet2 pvscsi and vmxnet3 by creating a custom ISO. »

Missing from this list of drivers is the necessary HGFS (file host comments system) that is not installed in this way because it is no .inf file in the folder for them, and is required to access: \\vmware-host\...

  • Windows Home network access

I installed Oracle Database Express Edition 11g Release 2 on my desktop. Works very well. I can access from http://127.0.0.1:8080 / apex.

Is there a way I can access it through apex of the browser on that machine to other machines on my home network? Is it possible that I can refer to the local IP address in the URL from another machine and access the pages of the Apex?

127.0.0.1 is the address of 'closure '.  Consider "internal IP address.

So that computer B must Access a computer, you must use the external address of the computer.

For home networks, this is usually 192.168.0.x or 192.168.1.x

You will need to track down what's the IP address of your server to the APEX.

Then, you can use it (until the DHCP renew it at a different IP address)

  • Windows 7 loses access to the network share when unplug wired connection

With my laptop Windows 7 Pro (64-bit SP1;) docked and thus have wired network (within a domain), I can access shares network very well. A wireless connection is active at the same time. When I detach, Windows Explorer and Office applications get upset some of the time. In addition, this is the case when I anchor. He didn't there has no problem opening a file on the network share when I'm rooted or not anchored, but the transition is not well. Windows launches the error code 0 x 80070035, Windows cannot access , the network path was not found. When it is connected to our wireless network, the machine name is altered by an additional letter. The latter has led to a problem that had to be cleared up by a patch installed by my system administrator, but the problem persisted.

I understand that Windows 7 should be smart enough to pass interfaces for network access, having a preference for a wiring if it is available (perhaps even the connection data rate). Maybe it's too much to expect that the operating system could make this transition, but it seemed that my Vista laptop has done very well. Any suggestions are welcome.

  • Should I have the Network Access Protection Agent Service to start automatically on Windows 8?

    Hello!

While I was looking for a completely different setting in Control Panel in Windows 8, I came across the center of the Action settings and noticed that the Agent of network access Protection service is not running. I open the computer management snap-in and noticed that the service is configured by default must be started manually. I looked for more information on the internet but I wasn't able to find a detailed explanation about his goal for a personal computer. The only explanation I found applied only to Windows Server.

Is it really necessary to configure this service to start automatically on a home network, or can it be just left set to start manually? What is its use on Windows 8? Is this just in case the computer needs to access a network of business domain?

I am running Windows 8 Pro 64-bit edition on an Acer Aspire 5552-5898 connected most of the time in my network domestic, although usually I connect to public networks. My computer is not configured to connect to a domain on a corporate network, not even using VPN. When I access my e-mail from this computer company account, I first need to authenticate with a code provided by RSA device before I can connect to Outlook (OWA).

    See you soon!

    Carlos

    Hi Cspork,

    Thanks for choosing Microsoft Community!

You have reached the right forum. Try to solve this problem.

As I understand it, in the center of the Action the officer of Access Protection settings network service does not work.

The network access Protection agent service collects and manages health information for client computers on a network. The information collected by the NAP agent are used to ensure that the client computer has the required software and settings. If a client computer is not compatible with the health policy, it can be equipped with restricted network access until their configuration is updated. Depending on the configuration of health policies, client computers may be automatically refreshed allowing users to quickly regain full network access without having to manually update the computer.

The service can be left to be set to start manually.

It is especially where the computer needs to access a network of business domain.

Hope the helps of information. Don't answer if you need assistance, we will be happy to help you.

  • want to 4500: HP envy 4500 network access

At first, I don't know what I'm doing or talk, so please when replying keep things simple! :-)

I want to HP wireless 4500 printer, which is great, but I can't use it wireless with a usb key. I did all the instructions for setting up (this is my second attempt on this laptop because it just came back to be fixed and I had to re - install the printer again) I did troubleshooting, doctor scan etc, all said the printer is connected and works fine, but the wireless connect it is use is not wireless my laptop is turned on. So to make the printer work wireless I disconnect my connection wireless internet (which means I can't access or print all documents saved in the cloud) Confussed? Yes, me too!

I could always use the printer very well if I'm at the office with usb, but I have a laptop so that I don't need to be sitting in my office, all the time! My daughter would also like to print stuff without having to email them to me first.

Any suggestions how to fix it please?

    Hi @my-hp-printer,

Thanks for posting in the Forums of HP.

I want to help you with questions you have set up your HP Envy 4500 eAll-in-one for wireless printing.

You mentioned that the printer wireless is different from the wireless that uses your computer. You have more than one router? This can complicate matters when you try to configure the wireless printer.

You will need to know your network name (SSID) and your wireless password in order to connect the printer to the network that you use on your laptop.

If you don't know what this is, you can download the HP Print and Scan doctor.

To retrieve your network information using this tool, download and run the file, and then follow these steps:

    • At the top of the window, select network.
    • In the drop-down list, select Show Advanced Info.
    • Then select view wireless info
    • Your network name and password will be displayed in the box at the bottom of this window.

Once you have your network information, you must run the Setup on your printer wireless Assistant.

    1. in the home of the printer screen, press the wireless icon (to the right of the screen)

    2. Select settings at the bottom of the screen

    3. use the arrows to select Wireless Setup Wizard, and then press OK

    4. a list of available networks will appear. Select the network to which your computer is connected, and then press OK

    5. it will then prompt you the network password, use the top and down arrows to navigate the keyboard and press OK to select each letter or number. NOTE: The password is case-sensitive. You can use the button on the lower left corner of the screen to change the keyboard uppercase, lowercase and numbers.

Once the printer is connected to the network, run the CD of the software provided with your HP printer again. It prompts you to install a new printer.

If the printer is not seen wireless software try to do a reset of network.

We'll leave the router and unplug the power cable (NOTE: do not reset the router.), and then do the same with the printer and shut down the computer. After a minute, plug in the router, wait to fully turn on, then plug the printer back in and wait for the wireless light become solid. Once the router and the printer are on, go ahead and re - turn on the computer. This will refresh the network connection.

I would like to know if this solution works for you!

    Have a great Friday.
