VPN cost

Hello.

IM about to use a solution with the Cisco 2811 router and I thought to use the free cisco VPN client to the VPN connection. I was wondering if there is a cost per user or something like that, and how VPN-router 2811 connections can handle?

Im a network for a business hotel on the rise and I was wondering if the cisco VPN client is free to use in a commercial environment or do I have to buy the software/hardware something extra?

Best regards Tommy Svensson

Hello

If you have the good IOS feature set (advanced security or later version), the 2811 can manage VPN endpoint.

I don't remember the limit, but I'm sure more than 100 for IPsec.

If you have a contract with Cisco to download the software, you can download for free the IPsec client.

In addition, you can configure/activate SSL VPN.

Federico.

  • Two VPN tunnels on the same device with the same protected networks

There is a remote site that wants me to put in place two separate tunnels of VPN with the same internal IP at each end. FOR EXAMPLE

    LAN = 10.212.170.201/32, 10.212.170.202/32

    Remote network 192.168.0.0/24 =

I currently have a tunnel between the above:

    End Point distance = 111.93.152.186

    Local endpoint point = 198.205.115.252

Now, they want to set up a VPN for the same networks between:

    End Point distance = 115.115.130.34

    Local endpoint point = 198.205.115.252

It is my understanding that the Cisco ASA 5520 can do. The only way I've seen this done with Cisco hardware is to use two ASAs, but there may be a way to use the costs of road or some other tricks to make it happen.

    I'm open to suggestions.

    Is a backup?

In, specify endpoint remote second as a "backup" of the peer in the first virtual private network.  Alone will be active at the time - but there are toggled if the VPN in first dies.

    Hello

We have a cisco ASA 5505 and try to get the next job:

Where is that host (inethost)? Inside of the ASA, or on the internet (on the outside)?

If it is outside, you must configure the NAT for the pool of vpn as you turn on the SAA.

  • a site to several dry IP VPN with RPS 500 (521W)

    Hello community,

I just bought a PRS 521 to connect my home network with a service of Amazon (dry site to IP)

I created two tunnels and both work... BUT one at a time

When I try to enable both, only the first can be connected

product data sheet indicates 5 VPN site to site, but nowhere its listed as being active at the same time

    Any experience with this?

    Is tehre any limitation?

    See you soon

    A.Costa

Thanks for the details - now I understand what you're trying.

Unfortunately, the SRP500 does not support redundancy common VPN tunnel to a remote subnet, so it cannot actively manage failover from one tunnel to the other in case one of the gateways Amazon fails.

As you have seen, it is however possible to manage it manually.

    Kind regards

    Andy

  • What VPN Client for ASA 5550 AnyConnect Premium connection?

We have version9 a couple of ASA550 I want to put in place a VPN client for use with remote access to administration.  We have included AnyConnect VPN, Premium license peers 2 so I guess we can just use of Cisco AnyConnect VPN client.  I went to Cisco's Web site and it says that I don't have right to the last Anyconnect VPN Client 4.x but I don't have access to the version 3.x.

The 3.x client is compatible with the ASA and also Windows 10?

If Yes, what is the correct file to use, there are many files listed for download in AnyConnect 3.x?

In addition, what is the difference between the AnyConnect 3.x and 4.x customer and why Cisco restricting 4.x?

    Jim

AnyConnect 4.x has changed the licensing model. AnyConnect 4.x licenses are term based licensing vs perpetual 3.x. There are a number of other differences, mainly due to there being only two license types - more and Apex - no Mobile plus, Advanced Endpoint Assessment, shared VPN etc. Cisco offers a nominal or no license cost of migration until the end of 2015. (depending on what you have: positive Essentials or Apex at premium)

AnyConnect 3.1 will work with Windows 10 and the latest version of the Software ASA (since Version 3.1.10010). Reference:

    http://www.Cisco.com/c/en/us/TD/docs/security/vpn_client/AnyConnect/ANYC...

There are two ways it is distributed - as a stand-alone installation or package for the distribution of the ASA station. Both come in Windows, Mac OS X and Linux distributions. For a Windows client, you must use either:

    AnyConnect-Win-3.1.12020-pre-deploy-K9.ISO

    AnyConnect-victory - 3.1.12020 - k9.pkg

.. .to the current version of these respective form factors.

  • Managed VPN services

We are a small company with a person who uses our service COMPUTER. Should we be more similar to a VPN service managed instead of one in the House?

    Bill

I think that if you have your managed VPN services depends on a few factors:

    * your in house IT supports will do the job properly and timely?

    * your customers require a Service Level Agreement?

    * What is the cost to support your company VPN vs having managed service?

If you have a computer programmer who really knows how to manage the VPN and you only have a mere handful or two users through the VPN, then I would think more economic to maintain VPN managed by staff in the House.

Similarly, if you have a computer programmer who is not very intuitive with VPN or simply has no time to support it, so an ISP taken into solution or tastes, would sound more advantageous and economic.

  • Impossible to pass traffic through the VPN tunnel

I have an ASA 5505 9.1 running.   I have the VPN tunnel connection, but I am not able to pass traffic. through the tunnel. Ping through the internet works fine.

    Here is my config

  • ASA 5512 different route by VPN Group (VRF as feature?)

    Hello

Here's what I'm trying to do.  I have a Nexus 7000 with several of the VRF, simplicity lets call it A VRF, VRF B, VRF C. VRF A simulates a network of management and VRF B and C are customer environments.  VRF B and C VRF will be overlap of intellectual property.  I have a 5512 ASA I use VPN in the environment, it also provides internet access for applications that run in A VRF, (VRF B and C do not require internet access).  What I want to do is to implement three different access VPN on the SAA even, where some users will have VPN 1 group policy and have access to the VRF has, but should not have access to the VRF B or C, same VPN 2 should have access to the VRF B and 3 C VRF VPN.

My original intent was to configure the ASA with 0/0 to internet Gig, Gig 0/1 A VRF and then Gig 0/2 sub interfaced so 0/2.10 is 10.10.10.1 in VLAN 101 that connects VRF B, 0/2.11 concert would be 10.10.10.1 in 102 VLAN that connects to VRF C.  However, better than I can tell ASA 5512 is not aware of VRF (or is it just a separate license, I would need?) and as such, it is not possible.

Next similar reflection, but instad configure as 0/2.10 is 10.10.10.1 in VLAN 101 that connects VRF B, 0/2.11 concert would be 10.10.11.1 in 102 VLAN that connects to VRF C. However, I throw it here, issues as the VPN 2 and 3 need access to devices with the same IP address, which is even better I can tell, the ASA is not able to make Policy based routing.

Is there another way to do this? Is there something that I am on?
I need to make sure that the 2A VPN users can access services available in the VRF B, they should not have the ability to access (intentionally or not) services on VRF A or C, nor the users VPN 1 or 3.

I have also a 5585 ASA w / context multi license, I can then creates a context by VRF (that I have), I then interfaces in each correct the VRF-related context.  However, I do not think that I can terminate VPN here, best I can tell when in multi-contexte mode you can not have VPN license.

Your research led you to conclude correctly that the ASA is neither compatible with VRF nor can it be based on routing strategies. Also, you cannot terminate remote access VPN on an ASA multi-contexte.

Doing what you ask a single AAS is a bit problematic. If you had a unique internal addresses, the subinterfaces would work fine.

Because it looks like you have a virtualization infrastructure, have you considered using the low cost ASAv? You could run multiple instances, one per VRF. Everyone knows only the public address space and its respective assocated VRF.

  • Cisco ASA VPN tunnel question - DMZ interface

I am trying to build a tunnel to a customer with NAT and I'm able to get 3 of the 4 networks to communicate. The 1 that is not responding is a DMZ network. Excerpts from config below. What am I doing wrong with the 10.0.87.0/24 network? The error in the log is "routing cannot locate the next hop.

    Hello

I see that the issue here is the declaration of NAT:

NAT (inside, outside) source static obj - 172.16.1.0 DNI-NAT4 destination static comm - 10.240.0.0 comm - net 10.240.0.0 to net non-proxy-arp

    The correct statement would be:

NAT (DMZ, external) source static obj - 172.16.1.0 DNI-NAT4 destination static comm - 10.240.0.0 comm - net 10.240.0.0 to net non-proxy-arp

Go ahead and do a tracer of packages:

    Packet-trace entry DMZ 172.16.1.15 tcp 443 detailed 10.240.X.X

Thus, you will see the exempt NAT works now.

I would like to know how it works!

Please don't forget to rate and score as correct the helpful post!

    Kind regards

    David Castro,

  • Client operating system VPN requirements

    Hi all

Does anyone know of any problems with the help of Win98 and WinME to vpn in a pix? I have XP and 2K connection and works well, but whenever I use 98 or ME, the tunnel just sits there on "Contact the security gateway" and eventually times out. I would be there compared to not having the password correct or similar. I know that the details are 100% correct about the customers.

My config works for 2000 and XP machines so it must be (I assume) based operating system?

The pix has 6.3.3 software and I tried to recharge one of the ME machines of costs with all updates from MS with no difference in the result.

Any assistance received with joy and thank you for your time.

    see you soon

    Andy

Edit: Sorry - I tried customer 4.0.3.F more the last customer base 3. (and yes I realize and 98 are not the best choice of operating system but then I unfortunately can't change that)

    see you soon

    Hello!

Try adding a few new isakmp policies, eventually the customer and the PIX will manage negotiate the appropriate settings for the connection, because they can be dynamically negotiated by both.

Select the LOG option in the client.

Try to do some debugging if posible. Before debugging make sure your CPU usage is low with

    HS the CPU usage

    [No] debug crypto isakmp

    [No] debug crypto ipsec

    SH debug

    See this document http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/sw/secursw/ps2308/products_configuration_example09186a00801e71c0.shtml

  • RVI042 - max # of supported gw to gw vpn tunnels?

What is the number taken gw to gw vpn tunnels max supported? What would you recommend for the remote router - MD1 / 1 phone? Modem cable, most likely.

RV042 supports 50 Gw-2-Gw tunnels. With respect to the remote sites, you might consider WRV210 for its Wi - Fi, VPN and a lower cost. However, in a site remote using RV042 provides an option for redundant internet connection.

  • assign fixed ip vpn?

    Hello

I have a simple question here, I guess...

I use the vpn in the pix firewall and assign an ip address to the scope of the vpn to 192.168.2.1 to 192.168.2.254 client, but is it possible to assign with ip vpn client for example fixed 192.168.2.1 for pc A 192.168.2.2 to pc B, because the Firewall automatically assign it... the investigation period were always changing. is it possible do that with pix firewall?

    Thanks for the help

    Tonny

    Hello Philippe,

In case you do a local authentication, it is not possible. The local user receives an ip address from the local pool configured on the PIX. This will be dynamic.

If you can use an ACS server can authenticate users using Radius or Ganymede, the RADIUS server can give a fixed IP address to the user's call. This can be configured on the ACS server.

It might cost you extra money. in order to reduce the cost, most of them simply use a dynamic IP pool on the PIX to use VPN.

I hope this helps... all the best...

  • Client VPN Cisco and Cisco Secure

Cisco VPN client and the VPN from Cisco Secure client free to use with pix firewall software?

    Thank you.

    Hello

If you have a valid contract to Cisco and you can get the following link:

    http://www.Cisco.com/Kobayashi/SW-Center/SW-VPN.shtml

with your CCO login, then you should be able to use these customers at no cost because they are already covered by the contract.

    Thank you and best regards,

  • Site to Site & Dialer Dual Wan VPN

    Hello!

I have some problems with a Cisco 1941 running 15.2...

I have two interfaces WAN ADSL (PPPoE Dialer). I want normal Internet traffic through DSL - 1 and VPN through DSL - 2. So I put the default route through Dialer1 and the route heading to the IP of the Brach-Site (R.R.R.R), through Dialer2.

on the R1: Ping R.R.R.R-> works fine

    A2: Ping Y.Y.Y.Y-> works fine

    R2: ssh Y.Y.Y.Y-> works fine

so I guess that routing should work?

    but the VPN be established:

    router-wi #show cry sess

Even when I remove the Card Crypto VPN - D1, without VPN can be established. Only when I stop the Dialer1 interface and the default Route also goes throug Dialer2 VPN is properly set up.

Yes you can incorporate these underneath routes as well on track 2, however track 2 fails, you must have a failover to dsl1 itinerary, with highest should cost 100 road.

    IP route 192.168.40.0 255.255.255.0 Dialer 2 track 2 name VPN-1_to_R2_via_DSL-2

    IP route 172.20.110.0 255.255.255.0 Dialer 2 track 2 name VPN-2_to_R2_via_DSL-2

    Hope that helps.

    Thank you
