VPN with dynamic IP. How to use DNS?

Hello

I installed a site to site VPN IPSec between two routers cisco IPs public Static. I notice that I can use dynamic IPs for the case with point-to-multipoint or IPs instead host names. In this case, I can use this command to configure the VPN:

(config) #crypto isakmp identity hostname

(config) #crypto isakmp key XXXXX hostname 'Remote_name '.

(config-crypto-map) # defined peer 'Remote_name '.

I also noticed that I can use a router cisco as a DNS, and I can add the host records with:

IP host 'Remote_Name' "IP address"

In fact, I want only one router to work with Static public IP (Router_A) and the other with the dynamic public IP (Router_B) of ISP address. Then maybe I can put the router with static IP address to work as the DNS server. I know how DynDNS works with an account and update client software on a PC/server, but I've never used the hardware update DNS clients, and I don't know what steps I must follow to implement this.

Hi John,.

The section in the link below should help you to configure DDNS on your router:

(See example Http update)

http://www.Cisco.com/en/us/docs/iOS/12_3/12_3y/12_3ya8/gt_ddns.html#wp1203580

This link shows a \windows\system32\conifg\system summary:

http://www.no-IP.com/support/guides/routers/using_cisco_routers_with_no-IP.html

Static dynamic VPN to refer to this link (this requires no DDNS):

  • SG300-28 - Firmware 1.2.7.76 with the MAC: how to use the VLAN? (Bugs00131469)

    Hallo,

can you please explain to me this problem more in detail, please:

    ##################################################################

Problem: When a port Transceiver allowed tent of to re-authenticate and RADIUS

attributes no longer target attributes VLAN, re-authentication breaks down and the

port must become unauthorized. This is not the case, and the port is not.

    (Bugs00131469)

Solution: Do not delete attributes of VLANS on a RADIUS server or unplug

network cable and plug it in again to force the failure.

    ##################################################################

I use an assignment VLAN dynamic for my known hosts of the network (authentication MAC) based only. But there are people from other companies who use their own computer and this computer does not know on my RADIUS server. These people should use the VLAN comments. In general they disconnect the LAN cable from a host that is known on my SHELF and put the LAN cable into their laptop (which is not known by the RADIUS server).

Does this mean that this port will remain in the VLAN old or the switch will change the port the the guest VLAN?

And what happens if I reconnect the computer to know about this port?

This feature is very important to me, but I need the functionality of the new firmware RADIUS accounting. So please give me some advice!

    Thank you very much!

    Alexander Wilke

    Hello, Alexander.

When connecting to an unknown host to the switch, it should go to a VLAN authenticated or if you use the VLAN comments, it must be created statically a VLAN on the switch. With the comments-VLAN-Enable, the switch automatically assigns a port as a member not marked. When the port is allowed, the switch will have to move the port to VLAN comments when the first applicant authorizes.

Basically, this bug listed above says not to make changes to your information RADIUS server of VLAN and if you do, unplug the network and reconnect it.

  • IPSEC VPN with Dynamics to dynamic IP

    Hello

I tried IPSEC VPN with dynamic IP to dynamic (router to router) for some time. But still can not auto-établir the tunnel.

Is someone can you please tell me if it is possible to do?

If so, please share with me the secret to do work.

    Thank you!

    Best regards

Rather than the Crypto map, I would use the profile of Crypto.  Then, establish you an IPSEC tunnel.  The beauty of the profile, is that you can run through it routing protocols, and you do not have to change constantly the cards whenever you change the topology of the network.  The "* * *" in the timer event is "minute hour day week month" so "* * *" is updated every minute.  In Tunnel destination, it's an IP address, not a hostname that is stored, but when you set it, you can put in a HOST name and it converts to the moment where you configure it to an IP address.

    So, if you type:

    config t

    interface tunnel100
    destination remote.dyndns.com tunnel

    output

    See the race int tunnel100

    It shows:

    interface Tunnel100
    tunnel destination 75.67.43.79

That's why the event handler goes and becomes the destination of tunnel every minute what ever the DDNS says that is the new IP address.

I have seen that two of your routers running DDNS.  They will have to do this.

  • AMPe ADF with Dynamic tab Shell not made in iPAD 1 +.

    Hello

We used the Oracle Dynamic tab Shell templates to build our page of dashboard with several dynamic tabs.
A year back when we have initially created the main dashboard with Dynamic tab Shell and used of the UIShell API to open new dynamic tab when clicking the command links in the browser side of left hand. We started with Jdev 11.1.1.3 and upgrade us until Jdev 11.1.1.5.

Now this last requirement is, we need to test our applications in the Safari browser in iPAD (2.0). During the test, we observed under questions.

    (1) the page with Dynamic tab Shell JSPX is keep showing "Loading"... "We had updated the Safari browser twice to render the page.
    (2) any af:commandLink under the JSPX which has shell model dynamic tab, does not. We have lots of links on the left navigation and when clicking on each link will open a new tab dynamic (we use UIShell API). Nothing happens when clicking on these af:commandLinks.
    (3) we have 'Home' and 'Logout' links at the top right. Nothing happens on the links click too.

All these as af:commandLinks and af:commandButtons not working as expected when we have them beside a JSPX page without shell dynamic tab.

Tested and observed the same behavior both in version 1.0 and newer iPad iPAD 2.0.
We desperately need help on thin. Pls let us know, if I need to provide more details. Are there specific configurations required to make it work in Jdev 11.1.1.5? At this stage we cannot improve our Env 11.1.1.6 or 11.1.2 as we already have these applications in Production and we should give users flexibility to be used in the iPAD.

    Help, please!

    Thank you!!
    Subba.

    Subba,

I understand, however support for iPad added in PS5 is a set of new features, not a bug fix, so this cannot be claimed as a one off patch with the support of the Oracle. In this case that is expected to capture customers highlights new features of upgrade.

Im trying to open the tutorial of 23 minutes on how to use different tools in photoshop and it continues to come with unable to resolve the DNS servers worked fine yesterday? Ive had creative cloud on my laptop for a week and not yet able to get past the basics make me very frustrated.

I guess you meant the links when you open photoshop CC. I tested all four videos of the 23 min tutorial and they all played fine. If something between you and adobe does not work correctly.

    • Check that your firewall is blocking the net. Try to access youtube videos and see if they play very well
    • Go to the adobe tv site and try to play one of the videos here. Adobe TV
    • If youtube plays very well and adobe tv does not work, next is to check if you have flash installed. Some videos require flash, others are html 5. Sorry that I could not confirm what player has been used for this tutorial. I think that html 5 but not sure.
    • Next is to look at the properties of your browser and check multimedia settings are not disabled if it y in a. (this is totally dependent on the browser)

If none of this helps, let us know.

  • ASA to remote access VPN with external IP dynamic

    Hi forum,

I was wondering if it was possible to set up an ASA to provide access to remote connections VPN (IPSEC or WebVPN/SSL) of the outside world, if the external IP address is dynamic (i.e. obtained through DHCP)?  I understand how to use DynamicDNS to provide a host name for the VPN clients, I ask simply if the SAA can be configured to allow VPN connections from a DHCP interface addressed.  I understand there are problems with the site to site VPN when both sides are addressed in a dynamic way, but it seems that the remote VPN access should work.  Just hoping to confirm this before I go and I'm working on a config.

    Thanks in advance...

    The same configuration applies.

In my view, that the only difference is that with the external IP being dynamic:

    interface e0/0

    IP address dhcp setroute

    crypto map

The only difference is that (the PCF file) VPN clients should have the VPN connection with a hostname (rather than an IP address) and the IP must be solved at the IPs of the SAA.

I'll try to find you an example configuration if you do not.

    Federico.

For the RADIUS, you need a definition of server-aaa:

Protocol AAA - NPS RADIUS server RADIUS

AAA-server RADIUS NPS (inside) host 10.10.18.12

    key *.

    authentication port 1812

    accounting-port 1813

and tell your tunnel-group for this server:

    General-attributes of VPN Tunnel-group

    Group-NPS LOCAL RADIUS authentication server

  • How to bind a VPN (TX via VPN) with a sat (RX via DVB - S2) / Windows Vista Home Edition / Multiple dial conections

I use a Windows Vista Home Edition on a laptop. The system connects to the Internet through a cellular router EDGE (via Ethernet) and receives the data by linking receiver DVB - S2 satellite broadband connected via a USB interface. The connection is through a VPN. Windows Vista loses the symbol of the "blue planet", as soon as the VPN connects. Authentication and connectivity is OK. DNS also works OK by the way VPN, with pointing to the VPN IP address 0.0.0.0.  The diagnosis indicates an error where Vista says that she finds multiple active dial connections. Y at - it a configuration option that allows me to bind the interface transmission (VPN) with return channel satellite?  The same software and configuration under Windows XP SP3 works OK.

Thanks in advance for your advice.

Here is another article on the procedure: http://www.publicvpn.com/support/Vista.php.

Here is an article on how configure a VPN with an ISP in Vista: http://www.web-articles.info/e/a/title/How-to-create-a-VPN-connection-over-your-ISP-connection/.

Here is an article with a number of different other items all on vpn in Vista (I don't know exactly what type of configuration you "AVIC - as a host, as a customer, on what type of connection,--but this article covers many different aspects and I hope that at least a couple will be a help for you: http://compnetworking.about.com/od/vpnsetup/VPN_Setup_How_to_Set_Up_a_VPN.htm.)

    I hope this helps.
