  • Workflow fails on the wait Timer

    I have a created workflow that generates a snapshot of a VM, notifies the user by e-mail that the snapshot was created, and then going into a timer waiting for a period of 2 weeks before checking if the snapshot still exists and to notify the user that they must remove the snapshot. So buckle up every day notify the user that the snapshot should be removed until the snapshot no longer exists.

    For most of the time, the workflow works as expected, however, I find that one or two workflow running fails from time to time. The schema of the execution of workflow shows workflow failed on the timer standby (which I checked has a valid date/time value assigned to the input of energy). When I view the events for the workflow, it has 3 events, Workflow has started, workflow is suspended and Workflow failed. When you select the workflow does not event, the description is "Workflow has been issued by a task, the workflow runtime does not be resumed" (I guess that 'being' = 'summer' in the message). In addition, when the workflow fails, it never runs the exception workflow that is configured to send me an email notification with the information of errors/exceptions.

    Does anyone have ideas, what could be causing this failure? I noticed that the failure occurs most often after that the Orchestrator function has been restarted.

    Hello

    In fact, the behavior you observe is not random and should somehow. Currently all the workflows that are opened by an i.e., scheduled task are not included on the reboot of the server. The centre of the spot is responsible. The reason is that it could happen that such a workflow can be started at the same time to resume from the point it was suspended and centre/Task Manager. So, if the workflow should he resume the server restarts.
    Other hand the reboot of the server, the Task Manager will hold the following logic:
    1.1 if it is a recurrent task task manager will calculate the next execution time and is scheduled to run.
    1.2 If the task is not recurrent, i.e. it is a one time task there are two options:
    1.2.1 the execution time is not spent - then the task is scheduled for execution.
    1.2.2 the execution time already - spent, we will in two other options:
    1.2.2.1 the task has been configured on "Start if scheduled in the past" and has not yet been completed - the task is scheduled to run once.
    1.2.2.2 the task has been configured for "do not start if scheduled in the past ', or is already completed - the task ends with error and the workflow will not be executed.

    I guess in your case, the workflow is scheduled (started from a task) and that's why he is unable to return to restart the server. If the workflow is not recurring to work around the problem, you can configure the task scheduled as "Start" If in the past You can do this with access from the client to the Scheduler->-> Edit (photo attached). This will lead to the execution of the workflow from the beginning on the reboot of the server if the workflow has already been launched but was not complete or suspended in the middle.

  • How to set up notifications when the workflow fails?

    Hi all

    new to this, so please help.

    I want to receive notifications when a workflow fails for some reason any.

    I use R12 (12.0.4) on linux.

    Is it possible to configure this through OAM maybe.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello

    When an error occurs in a workflow, usually a notification will be sent to SYSADMIN. So, yo need to log into that account to access workflow errors. If you want to confirm, for a given workflow, how it handles errors, you can open it with the workflow designer and discover who is the error process used (go through the workflow process > click right mouse > properties > Details tab > point error Type and error process). You can then open this workflow error and check who is the recipient of the notification. I hope it helps.

    Kind regards.

  • Add Standalone workflow fails...

    I'm clearly missing something in what concerns the use Orchestrator and hope I can a little nudge in the right direction.

    I tried to add a stand-alone ESXi 4.1 host to vCenter Server. The workflow for adding a stand-alone host (Workflows > vCenter > host management > recording > Add standalone host) fails everytime I try to use it. The error message I see is:

    "AddStandaloneHost_Task" task error: the authenticity of the host SSL certificate is not verified. (Name of the dynamic Script Module: vim3WaitTaskEnd #20)

    I can't find out where to install the host SSL certificate. This error refers to the vCenter Server SSL certificate or the ESXi host SSL certificate?

    Thank you, in advance, for your help.

  • Add disk Workflow fails when you use the LSI Logic SAS SCSI controller

    I'm in vCenter Orchestrator 4.0.1

    When you try to run the workflow work add drive on a virtual machine that uses the LSI Logic SAS SCSI controller I get an error no controller found.

    This workflow is under: library-> VIM 3-> Virtual Machine Management-> device management

    The workflow add disk supports the LSI Logic SAS controller?  If this is not the case, no idea of how to create my own custom adds workflow to disk that would work with this controller?

    Thank you!

    Which plugin you have configured to talk to your Virtual Center? the plugin 3.5 or 4.0 plugin? If you have used the plugin 4.0, you must use the library-> VC-> * workflow so that the correct objects get used.

    Hi all
    The problem is solved in half! This is a bug in the IBM driver.
    It's just exactly the same cause (locale) in the following thread:
    http://www.IBM.com/developerWorks/forums/thread.jspa?MessageID=14051384
    I think the problem is that the AS 400 (iSeries) responds with 30 characters and converted to UTF8 it is 31 bytes. This is a bug...
    If you want to ask more details, but in a nutshell, you need to assign some of your Linux/Unix environment variables what whatsoever NOT utf8!

    I hope this helps. If so, please check the response as helpful or appropriate.

    so I create a small topics Add only a single task (SDE_ORA_GLAccountDimension) and create a plan of execution with this SA for test.the same error has occurred.
    As usual, CAD will run this workflow tracking these parameters:
    1 truncate table
    2 remove the index
    3 run the workflow
    4 create indexes
    5 analyze table
    I request the date of creation on the index of the table and he changed after etl end.and I found the workflow log end time is later than to create indexes of time.
    So I guess that the reason is when dac did not have the exact status of workflow.when setup3 began, CAD status completed and run the next installation, but actually still run etl then what created.workflow index failed.
    I don't know how dac to get the workflow state. I don't know even if I found the reason. Could someone help me?

    http://download.Oracle.com/docs/CD/E12513_01/doc/BIC.101/e12655.PDF

    3.21 DAC task failed on Non-English operating system
    This problem applies to the DAC 10.1.3.4.1 and Informatica PowerCenter 8.6.1, HotFix3
    DAC Server uses pmcmd to launch workflows on Informatica server. In the
    English operating systems, DAC issues orders in the non-blocking
    (asynchronously) mode and the Informatica polls for the State of the workflow. The
    out of the getWorkFlowDetails of pmcmd is queued in the DAC\log directory, and
    and then gets analyzed to determine whether the workflow is still ongoing, completed
    successfully, or failed.
    However, for operating systems non-English DAC sends commands in the
    (synchronously) standby mode. This means that when the process ends at the exit
    code indicates DAC if the workflow was successful or not.
    Workaround
    The commands used by DCA to connect with Informatica are externalized in one
    the file is called infa_commands.xml.
    The DAC 10.13.4.1 control model is not a placeholder to specify the
    standby mode. Without this configuration in standby mode, on non - English OS based
    installation, this translates to the treatment of the DAC of the front execution even as the
    Workflow finishes executing. This could lead to errors, as in bulk of Informatica
    charger is not because of the presence index of tables or without aliens
    key references.
    To solve the problem,... etc.

  • Add vCenter Workflow error: unexpected status code: 404

    Hello

    I am trying to add a vCenter vRO 7.0.1 host using the plugin existing VC (ver. 6.0.2.3435085) and I run a strange question.

    If I choose NO for the option ' will you orchestrate this instance "then the workflow completes successfully.  This does allow me to run workflows against the vCenter.

    When I remove the existing vCenter and re - run the workflow of vCenter Add, this time by choosing YES, the workflow fails with error validation process: unexpected status code: 404 (Workflow: Add a vCenter server instance / validate (item2) #1)

    Any ideas why check YES causes this?

    My entries:

    Host: fqdn.servername.com

    Port: 9443

    Path: /sdk

    Ignore the Cert: Yes

    Thank you.

    Hello

    This error probably means that the port number is incorrect.

    Are you sure 9443 is the correct port number? Usually, the port number is 443, not 9443 (port 9443 is where vSphere Web Client is available). Could you re-run the workflow with port 443?

  • Run workflow problem log view

    Someone at - he noticed this? I noticed on vCO 5.5, only the last successful workflow log run is displayed correctly. If you click previous workflow successfully performed, display would not change. Workflow failed has no questions to display the correct logs.  The only way to properly display these logs is to click events, go to another stream of work performed, then go back to the previous workflow execution, click diagram, and then opens a session. There are some cases I want to be able to watch the successful previous workflow logs run like copying information.

    Thank you

    Hello and welcome to vCO! The behavior you describe is expected and often discussed. The logs tab is for information within workflow generated when using System.log ("of the text here"); The information is available in the logs tab ONLY when you run the workflow with the client of the free vCO. When you close the client, and then open it to the top of the newspapers of all executions of workflow tab is empty. This information also get into the /app-server/server/vmo/log/server.log of your vCO server file. It is the method of non-persistent logging.

    For continuing registration, we use Server.log ("of the text here"); and that appears on the tab 'Events' of the execution of your workflow - even when closed and reopened

  • Send a notification failed

    Hello

    is it possible to send a notification by email when workflow failed?

    Rgds

    Jeremiah

    I highly recommend Burke approach since there are a lot of nuances that make a general solution will not work perfectly. There is also a high probability that if you did not get emails or Error Handling to the job that you are fairly new to vCO, and the website would be the BEST place to start! I'm sure they have examples of management errors and emails, but perhaps not in e-mails to handle errors...

    That said, I can try to help you quickly... Here are some quick and dirty steps to get something... you will need to email plugin installed... I do not know...

    1. for all scripts or places where the workflow can fail, the Exception variable to bind to a string of your choice attribute (I'll call this ErrorText)

    2. connect roads of workflow of exception (instead of a normal blue color, link the red color) to a script. Make sure that this script has access to ErrorText.

    3. in the script, use the email (sloppily written) follows:

    send_email function (subject, body)

    {

    var message = new EmailMessage();

    message.smtpHost = "xxxx.xxx.xxx.xxx";

    message.fromName = 'Admin vCD;

    message.fromAddress = "[email protected]";

    message.toAddress = emailReceivers();

    message. Subject = subject;

    message.addMimePart (body, text/html"; Charset = UTF - 8 ");

    System.log ("sending mail to:" + message.fromAddress + ", to:" + message.toAddress);

    message.sendMessage ();

    }

    send_email ("" notice: error in workflow ', ErrorText ");

  • Workflow is not all of a sudden

    I've created a workflow that worked fine a few weeks ago.  I used the Planner to do reproduce every Friday.  It was fine for a bit, but now it fails, even when I try to run it manually.  I don't get any errors in the other client that he just said error and workflow failed.  Even the tab newspapers... It's just empty.  I thought I remembered it showing me what he was doing before.

    I did apply the upgrades.  I thought maybe it was to change the password or something, but I set it up to use a service account and the password has not changed recently.  It seems to fail almost immediately.

    It comes to vCO 4.1.1.

    Any suggestions?

    Did you use the VIX plug-in or do you just have it installed?

    If you have installed it, then this msg indicates that you did not copy the VIX libraries (unzip archive distributed with the plugin as described in the docs) on your system and add the path to the path of the environment. If you add the path to the VIX libraries, or remove the VIX plugin, your workflow should resume work
