Linksys RE1000 unstable

I had problems with this range extender for several days now, and it's very frustrating.

I have a router Sagemcom F@st 2864 (connection Hub) with Bell Canada. The diffuse Router 2.4 GHz with Auto B/G/N, channel 11, 20 Mhz bandwidth, be able to pass 100% compatible WMM, WMM Powersave active, WPA2-PSK (AES).

I have my RE1000 set to a static IP (192.168.2.100), all the parameters of QoS by default, etc.. It also has the latest firmware.

I have two laptops Wireless N, a Blackberry Torch (N), iPad (N), office (N), Blu - Ray player (N), iPod Touch (G) and WES610N access point (using the static IP 192.168.2.12; Xbox360, Wii, connected Blu - Ray player), all connected wireless. I have an another desktop connected directly to the router using an Ethernet cable.

The RE1000 is stable for several hours (10 hours today) and then all the wireless devices will go haywire. My computer laptop will constantly connect and disconnect and the WES610N will do the same.

I tried different channels, affecting both the router only N G only, but the issue continue to be.

The RE1000 has 4 bars (green) strength and the quality of 3 bars (yellow).

My product is defective? Why did is stable for a limited period of time? The iPad or iTouch has anything to do with this problem?

Installed the E3200, packed my * beep * ty modem from Bell and my network now works great! The RE1000 never falls. In fact, I may not be no need it because the range on the E3200 is far superior to the modem provided by Bell!

I note that there is a fw v2.0

If I try to use fw v2.0 to upgrade, I get a message "firmware update failure".

Are there different versions made of the Linksys RE1000 now?

My cicra 2011 Linksys RE1000 yourself run the fw v2.0?

    Is this correct?

The RE1000 Linksys has three versions of material: 1.0, 1.5, and 2.0. Versions 1.0 and 1.5 material have the same firmware, this is the reason why you were able to get your Ver1.0 enriched using Ver1.5 firmware device. Ver2.0 runs on a different firmware; Therefore, you can not use it to upgrade your RE1000. See the article below for more information on the versions of extension three range and the new RE2000.

  • EA6100 router even if you are wondering if I have a problem of wire partially

I'll explain what happened first.  Fly, we had a storm that hit power off for a while and internet any longer.  Today I had to reset my EA6100 router settings to finally get to the top.  Now I'm having issues the "Media Prioritzation" works correctly.

I'm not sure if the extension, which is a Linksys E1000, needs to be connected to the router or not.  I noticed when I reset everything that the internet is plugged directly into the router and that plugged into the modem, a surfboard SB6141.  He is currently working, but this could be why in the past our speed was slow.

The firmware is updated for the Linksys EA6100 router.  I tried the "Media Prioritzation' on 2 computers, Iosing is a Windows using Microsoft Edge, Mozilla Firefox and Google Chrome broswers 10.  A plugged into the router & modem and other wireless with the same results.  There or the 2118 & 2112 errorrs or the setting comes with nothing if it opens at all.

    Suggestions please.

Hi, Martino72_5. Let us ensure that your devices are correctly connected. The SB6141 of the surfboard is your modem. This should be plugged into the internet port of your Linksys EA6100 and other devices like office, wired game console must be connected to one of the ethernet ports.

Regarding the Extender, you use a Linksys E1000 or Linksys RE1000? If the latter, then it should link automatically to the network if the router's wireless settings are identical. However, if the settings have been changed, then you must reset and reconfigure the range extender.

  • I can't print wirelessly on HP Envy

I have a HP Envy 115, which will remain not connected to the network.  I've put it down to the printer being a bit old and grumpy, and bought a new 4500 want - and immediately I have the same problem - I turn on the printer, it connects to the network.  Wait five minutes, the printer is satisfied, it is still on the network, but if I try to print something - the system says that the printer is not found.

I have an iMac, my wife has a macbook pro, we have an iphone 4S and 5s, the modem iPhone is a surfboard Extereme 6121 SB, the router is a Linksys E2500first gen (firmware is version 2.0) and we have Linksys RE1000 range extender.  The router firewall is disabled, so now that I have no idea as to what is the cause of the problem.  I'm thinking of what I found so far, this is a setting in the router somewhere - I'm not tech savy enough to know where.

Any help to solve this problem will be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you.

For anyone else who has this problem - move your RE1000 range Extenders.  I managed to move of mine that I always get covereage, but the printer is connected directly to the router.  Now, I have two fully functional printers...

  • RE1000 cannot find the router

    Hello

I bought a couple of RD1000s at the flea market. I have a "deadspot" or two in my apartment and I was hoping to alleviate this problem.

    Updated the Firmware v1.0.02.

Adjusted the default namespace and admin passwords.

Configuration manual connection using WPA2/WPA mixed with band select Auto.

They seem to be in perfect condition except neither of the RE1000s can see my wireless router!

My router is a Netgear CG3700EMR provided by my ISP.

I can see both of the RE1000s of my Mac and my PC, as well as signals of 2.4 and 5 Ghz Wi - Fi my router.

When I get a list of Wi - Fi networks available on the RE1000 page, I get a list of the variable content of betweenn 6 and 11 networks available, of which none are mine. The content of the list seems to change after each update as some of the more remote routers disappear and are replaced by other distant routers. My router does not appear.

The RE1000s can not see my router at all ranges from 2 meters to 30 meters - I checked from many different sources of energy.

I'm a bit puzzled, so all the intelligent comments are welcome.

    Philippe

Problem solved by trial and error.

The router is configured as an iPhone, iPad, Android device, a Mac and a PC Win7 (Linksys WMP600N) and a Blackberry can see it. For reasons of space, I'm at Channel 13.

However, it seems that the channel must be set to 1 initially for the RE1000 find the router.

After setting the router to channel 1, I was able to connect the devices. Later, I changed the router to channel 8 (the current less crowded) and everything went on very well.

  • WRT1900 AC restart, Intermittent, unstable, please help.

I'm done with this router. I spent $200 when this thing came out. It is and will always be the worst purchase I have ever made. I never buy another linksys product or recommend a. Right now, I have no money to upgrade to ANOTHER router. I have 150Mbps from comcast on a Motorola Surfboard SB6141. I did speedtests on my 5 GHz connection and ping 10ms and Comcast 170 Mbps. recently replaced all my shots of cable also. I had 2 friends above. They brought their PC and internet has slowed to a crawl. Tried to play a game, Ping went in time form a large 10ms on each computer to Ms 450. unstable and unusable. Internet has stopped working, rebooted router. I changed the firmware to that of another thread. I have disabled media prioritzation, I restarted. I tried to talk to a technician from linksys, then he went out and it wouldn't connect, I was ready to throw it out the window and I have it factory reset. NO CHANGE. Still unreliable, would not play a game with no one else on network 2 computers, both computers are on different bands. I moved the router to another location, tried optimal antenna of the formats and just ran out of things to do.

Does anyone know what I can do with my P.O.S. router? Its out of warranty, and I am running out of ideas. I'm willing to try anything to make it work. I have a 3-year squaretrade warranty, if this quite defective thing to consider is broken?

    Any help is very appreciated.

    Thank you

What should I do when I installed DDWRT and then it still does not work and my router, I added a non-standard software and my warranty with squaretrade may have disappeared. I wanted to just make sure that DDWRT would be a surefire way to fix it, and that there is a way back.

If this does not work I have linksys DEAMs it defective and maybe get something in return for trade sqare.

Rest assured that DD - WRT works perfectly on the WRT1900AC v1, I used it on my own since November 2015.  Compared to the stock F/W, it is day and night in terms of performance and stability.  There is a wealth of info on the forum link I posted above, as well as a lot of info on the installation and configuration of DD - WRT.

Also, remember that these routers have two partitions of BIOS, making them quite difficult to brick.  Even if the bricks, it is still possible to bring back to life with a serial cable.  The hardware design is actually very robust and resillient.

I recommend the latest version of Kong, again via the posted link above.

You must first downgrade your LinkSys F/W to v1.1.8. * before flashing the IMG file directly from the stock of LinkSys GUI Kong.  Do NOT attempt to Flash the BIN file, which is a common nooby error, as this is can be used to upgrade to DD - WRT once it has already been installed.

Kong also provides an BIN image to reinstall LinkSys stock F/W of DD - WRT, then Yes, there is a way back.

    You should read this: https://www.dd-wrt.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=287813

And finally, don't forget that whenever you Flash F/W to this router, you are ALWAYS flashing on the OTHER , never in one that you are currently started boot partition on, so in theory at least, you can always come back to where you started if something goes wrong.  In addition, NEVER in WiFi, ALWAYS flash via a wired connection.

  • RE1000 disappears after configuration

Hi, new RE1000 v.2 bought a week ago.

I tried to set up in 2 different homes, to the ActionTec and Netgear routers.  I've used both connection Linksys (PC) software and have set up the router connections manually.  I tried both the deault SSID and a SSID specified with WPA protection.

In each case, the Extender drops from view once the connection to the router is established; no wireless device it can find as an access point.  I also think that the camera is also not seen by the router - the few times where I looked at the router "connected devices" list, the RE1000 MAC does not appear.

I have reset the device between each attempt, and it is visible by all wireless devices, that I used to connect to it.  Once I re - establishing the connection to router, poof, it's gone.

I confess that I have not tried to log in ethernet from a computer once the router connection configured to search even more, as that seems to need to configure a static IP address, etc..  I don't think I should go to these pains for a device that is supposed to be configured so simply, as implied by the provided connection software.

Something I'm missing here?  I don't know where to start.  The device loses visibility SSID, once the router connection is established, and I just need to make it visible?

    Thank you!

    Keith.

Once the RE1000 is correctly connected to your wireless router, it will operate is no longer its own SSID. It will replicate the SSID of your wireless router. It can not usse it is own SSID as it is a wireless Repeater and repeat the SSID of your router. You will notice the difference in signal after plugging the RE1000. And since you have lost the RE1000 default SSID, it is possible that it is already connected to your router and is up and running.

It's normal because the amplifier is now synchronized with your wireless router. To know the IP address of your amplifier, access the router configuration page > click on 'Status' > click the 'Local network' sub-tab and click on "DHCP Client table.

  • How do I reconfigure RE1000

Last year, we had a wireless network but the signal was weak in the bedroom. So my friend bought a RE1000 Range Extender, installing the driver on a Windows laptop and it works fine.

Earlier this year, Windows Notepad is dead. But the Range Extender works always.

Recently, I signed another contract broadband, then the wireless name is changed "Singtel-700'-"Singtel-2EEF", also the password has changed.

Now the RE1000 no longer works!

We can always connect to the Singtel-2EEF 'Wireless', but the signal is bad in the bedroom.

'Singtel-700' is stil in the list, but of course we can't connect, it.

Like Windows Notepad died, I tried to reinstall the driver on my Mac. I downloaded the driver from http://support.linksys.com/en-apac/support/rangeexpanders/RE1000

but during the installation, the installer says "could not find your Extender.

    What should I do?

Given that you try to reconfigure the range extender, you must reset it everything first before running the implementation of CD, otherwise, it won't work. Follow this link on how to reset the range extender: http://kb.linksys.com/Linksys/ukp.aspx?pid=80&vw=1&articleid=25513

  • EA3500 unstable connection

bought the router in August 2014.

He was good at the beginning, then I found a few unstablity - sometimes ping the router 192.168.1.1 would see hundreds ms response time. That's when my connection grave and interenet speed becomes slow.

It doesn't happen often, but once or twice a week. still annoying though.

I wonder if it is the interference by the other Wi - Fi siginals around my neighborhood. (I live in an apartment wifi so many signals autour).

Try to use an application on a phone like WiFi Analyzer to look at who is using what channels. You want to try to stick to the channels 1, 6 or 11, as they do not overlap with other channels. Looking for a channel where your signal is at least 20 or 30 db higher than the others. Also, make sure that you set your ssid to something else that linksys is different from other.

  • RE1000 abandon the connection of all devices

I recently bought a RE1000. It worked very well for the first two days. Then, he started to drop connections on all devices on both the main router, a Linksys E2000 and the Extender. I have reset several times and just did one today. Can anyone tell me the reason why it continues to be now?

  • RE1000 continually abandons its connection

I spent several hours (too many) is trying to establish why my new RE1000 won't hold its connection for longer than about 30 seconds. The following is in the diagnostic log. It is said that the ping does not reach more than 30 seconds, but when I ping using diagnostics (RE1000) we get a response from the gateway (192.168.100.1).

I checked the firmware for my WAP (Linksys WAP4400N) as well as my gateway/router (Linksys BEFSX41). All devices are Linksys. I tried an IP address static and using web installation as well as the Linksys disk. I checked for conflicts of wifi channels.

When it is connected (for all the 30 + seconds), it works as expected.

For some reason, it does not return a response from the gateway. Or maybe the answer is not recognized. I've ran out of ideas and will have to return the unit. Recommendations for an alternative?

    Thank you.

  • RE1000 stuck in 802. 11 b / g mode of

Just bought this camera today and very disappointed, as I've been with several of my recent purchases of Linksys.

In any case, try to make the best of it... after hours of messing around to configure and test, I found that the RE-1000 is in 802. 11 b / g mode, whereas my router WAG120N presents itself as the 802.11n (it is actually being run in mixed mode for g and n devices)

I wonder if anyone knows how I can get out of 802. 11 b / g mode and somehow get it up to speeds n we have n devices connecting to the RE1000 and get a very slow flow.

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated!

As the work of the range extender is to extend the signal wireless to the router, it should be able to pass the signal on mode N also. Try setting the security your gateway to WPA2 wireless if it is not already set to that. You may also need to change the channel of your gateway wireless. Try to define the Standard 20 MHz on your gateway radio band and use channel 1, 3, 6, 9, or 11. Check the firmware version on the range extender as well because he might be running on the old version. You can check the version of the firmware here: http://support.linksys.com/en-eu/support/rangeexpanders/RE1000.

  • 2 1 modem from comcast networks, cable ISP using 2 linksys wrt routers

I need to have 2 separate networks my comcast cable modem.

I expected to plug a hub 5 ports on the cable moden, then plug the wrt610n both the wrt54g in the hub. Seems that only routers will get an ip address assigned from comcast.

Is it possible to have a cable modem ISP and create two home networks with both routers linksys, so two networks independent serperate?

Network 1: i ' public use and family (wireless computer laptop Jane, domestic PC etc.).

Household/enterprise network 2: private and separate from the family public network (Wireless laptop / company PC, server multimedia not secure).

    Thank you

Your ISP only allows you to have a single public IP (i.e. a single active internet connection) at any time. This is part of your contract. If you want to use two internet connections at the same time as you need to update your contract with your ISP. Then, you can use two public IP addresses.

Otherwise, it depends on how 'independent' you want. The best and complete separation of networks is exactly the way that you set up for the moment.

You can get a separation in chaining the two routers. A router default configuration does NAT (network address translation) which makes it basically on the side inaccessible LAN from the internet side except if you configure the router to do otherwise (i.e. set up the forwarding port or UPnP or similar).

So, you can connect a router to your ISP modem. The first router using LAN IP 192.168.1.1 and has the public IP address on the internet. All connected to the first router is your network 'public '.

Then, you change the LAN IP of the router address second of 192.168.1.1 192.168.2.1. On the side of the internet, the static value IP 192.168.1.2 mask 255.255.255.0, gateway 192.168.1.1 subnet and DNS 192.168.1.1 (or your DNS servers of the ISP, for example check the first router status page). All connected to the router second is "your" private network.

Because of NAT private network is inaccessbile from the network 'public '. Any connection to the private network must be initiated by a computer inside the private network. It's how any internet router protects the LAN from the internet.

Of course, the 'protection' does not work the other way: anything either in the private network can try to access anything in the public network. With this type of installation you cannot protect the public network on the private network. But this kind of separation is usually enough for people.

There is a certain security risk for the private network as all internet traffic through the public network travel and the first router. The first router should be very well protected, i.e. use a router password very strong (instead of the default "admin") and the wireless should also be very well protected (i.e. use WPA2 with AEA and a password strong). The router password is the only thing that protects the router configuration. There is no other coverage, on the side of the router LAN, for example there is no locking if you are trying to connect with the password three times. Thus, the web interface of the router with the password is vulnerable to brute force attack or dictionary. If someone is able to decipher the router password from the first router, it is possible to Flash a custom firmware to analyze all your traffic network, including the internet traffic of the network private. Maybe it's a more theoretical security threat but you should keep in mind that it is possible with this type of installation.

If you want to have separate private network, as well from the public network, you can use three router configuration, i.e. the modem connects to the first router. First router connects to the router to second and third. Now the 'second' and 'third' LAN are entirely separate. The security risk that is mentioned on the first router remains valid.

However, there may be some disadvantages with chained routers: first light passes through two routers. If a router is slower, then the second, it can slow down all of the network connections. For example if you have 50 Mbps internet connection and one of your routers can handle 25 Mbps internet high speed, then all through this router won't be able to use the full speed of the internet. You need to test if there is a problem in your case.

Furthermore, some people have problems with disconnects or Internet unstable when you use a router chained configuration. It may be necessary to restart your routers to get again to the internet.
