  Hi all!

  Two or three weeks ago I started to experience a very strange error in my environment. (vCenter and vSphere Horizon are version 6.x)

  At the point where I'm trying to create a pool automated , using of linked clone or a full clone, the following error is displayed as follows:

  «The selected snapshot is hardware version 7.» Only ESX 4.0 hosts or homogenous groups of hosts running ESX 4.0 can be selected. »

• See 5 full Clone dedicated - cannot designate OR AD

  When you create a new pool of dedicated full clones, we are unable to specify the unit of ORGANIZATION AD to place computers newly commissioned.  By default, only they are placed in the OU = computers container.  The deployment of linked clones, you can specify the ORGANIZATIONAL unit tab customization.  However, this option is not available when configuring your desktop full clone.

  Does anyone have an aronds work for this?  Are there other options to achieve this by using SYSPREP?  If so, any suggestions would be appreciated.

• Impossible to change the wallpaper in the linked Clone desktops

  Hello

  I have a weird problem with a client running Horizon view 6.0.1:

  In linked Clone desktops, we are unable to change the desktop background. We have created a new master without optimizations that I thought one of them already could be the problem (we removed the design etc. but just to get that optimizations).

  I can change the wallpaper in the master image without problems, but not in the deployed workstations. If I click on other models, I see more active design Aero, the colors change from window etc, but the background remains the standard image of blue windows ("harmony"). Even if I select the images from the Explorer, right-click, as wallpaper - no change.

  Anyone has the same problem and can lead to a solution?

  P.S.: We use management Persona. But I have already created a pool in an OU without management of Persona and still have the same problem.

  I saw something similar awhile back after running desktop optimization commands.   I found myself by opening a ticket with Microsoft and the following changes are what sets our questions.

  Reg load "hku\temp".
  «% USERPROFILE%\ \Default User\NTUSER.» DAT '.

  reg delete "hku\temp\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System".
  wallpaper / v

  reg unload "hku\temp."

  PowerShell Set-Service "Themes."
  -startuptype "automatic".

• Clone Desktop on vista does not

  I have my desktop pc and HDTV connected via an HDMI cable. When I go to the TV to dual monitor display mode I can get it only make the extended desktop and no clone desktop. When I uncheck extended desktop I get no signal flashing on my TV. I restat pc and I can see the start screen and vista starting on television, until the office then tv only shows no signal? To make it work on reboot as a load of office?

  How do you have connected TV? Are you using HDMI, VGA, S-video or Composite?

  Depending on the connection type, your main monitors resolution may be too big for the TV to manage.

  Try setting your monitors main resolution to 1024 x 768 or 640 x 480 and test whether clones it correctly or not.

  Hi Rob,

  What is happening in Mode safe? If you can install it in Mode safe mode then delete all entries in startup via msconfig as this could conflict with the program.

  If this does not work, saving all the data of your administrator account, you can delete the account and recreate it.

  I guess it depends on the environment.  I usually do reconstructs monthly due to updates.  I have a small pool I ever Redial (unless I upgrade the Agent to view or something like that).

  Delta-disk is not 40 GB, it starts with a few hundred MB:s and will increase when it is used for a maximum of 40 GB.

  It may present as its 40 GB when looked at in the vSphere Client, but if you look at the actual file you can see that its much smaller.

• Workstation 8; cannot resize the disk on the full clone

  I have a related clone I want to create a complete clone so that I can expand the virtual hard disk.  But after I created the full clone and try to use the indicator Workstation 8 utility I have an error message: "You can't develop this virtual disk because it is a linked clone."  I tried this three times, with great attention the last two times to read all dialog boxes to make sure I'm not a mistake, but the same error comes back every time.

  Here are the steps I go through:

  (1) turn off the linked clone

  (2) delete all snapshots for the linked clone

  (3) file-> open-> choose the clone of linke

  (4) VM-> manage-> Clone - to pen the Clone Virtual Machine Wizard. in the wizard:

  (5) "The current state of the virtual machine" pick (I tried as long as and create a snapshot and try to clone from that)

  (6) select "CREATE FULL CLONE' (not ' create a linked clone)

  (7) name the new complete cloned machine, and then click on finish

  After about 10-15 minutes, I get a message indicates the complete clone is finished.  I then close VMware, open it back up, open the new full clone that I created and select chose to: edit virtual machine settings-> tab-> click on the hard drive to extend hardware-> utilities-> Expand.  The error box I mentioned above pop and 8 workstations does not indicator the hard drive.and error as described above.

  Am I missing something here?

  If you can confirm the virtual disk of the new virtual machine is not a Flash disk (i.e. with 00000x.vmdk in its name) and the vmware.log file (created after you turn on the virtual machine) shows not all other hard files, you can check if the .vmsd of the virtual machine file contains incorrect entries. Essentially - after making sure that no other hard files are used - you could just delete the .vmsd file.

  Enter in the roles and rights, select the Group of users who are currently allow you to do a lot of clone and consolidate, click Properties, select naming high IO and uncheck consolidate and full Clone

  I did 1 gold statue (os tuning) and clone a few images of her masters, then install some software and view agent (Net framework was installed after the agent from the view because of the article on pubs.vmware) on these main images. Then I deployed 2 related clone pools of first and second master images without any problem, but the 3rd stucks pool (from the 3rd master image) on customization. I just saw the windows login screeen, but desktop computers does not restart for sysprep. Master images (1st, 2nd and 3rd) has the same configuration. View Composer have created computer accounts in Active Directory. Any suggestions?

  I use KMS activation according to pubs.vmware requirements. I solved my problem earlier in this way: delete an agent from view, vmware tools, hotfix 2550978 (for vmxnet3), net framework, reboot machine, stop vm, vmxnet3 remove, add vmxnet3, install vmware tools, install kb2550978, install view agent, install net framework strictly in the following order.

  I use Win 7 for a few months now, and the user experience is great!

  Remote Desktop software update is large but with a very annoying problem that I am facing.
  I use this to access my PC on my home LAN. I left once his mode full screen I need a windowed mode to work, but since I was not able to return to full screen. I tried to restart the sessions remotely, Resart the two PCs, delete the information identification, but in vain.

  Follow these steps and check whether the problem is resolved.
   
  Method 1:
   
  -Start "Remote Desktop connection".
  -Click on 'Options '.
  -Click the "View" tab
  -On "Display Configuration" settings, you can change the display of "Remote Desktop connection" by moving the slider of "small to large.
  -By moving the "slider" all the way to large, the display settings will automatically set in 'full screen '.
   
  Method 2:
   
  You can try CTRL-ALT & Break to return to the screen in full-screen.

  First off it is only recommended to have 4 FT running for each host, so would need you 25 hosts make 100 mV.

  Secondly, I am sure that this is taken care with view.

  Thirdly, also sure FT requires full VMs, clones and unrelated, so your cost of SAN will rocket sky.

  Fourth and this is my favorite, it is exteremly high Windows going down until your host blocks (ESX breaks down).  FT no help even in this situation as if OS1 block him operating system on the other server will crash at the same time.

  FT is designed for mission critical Server VM, not of VDI.
