wall of lines on the map in illustrator?

I work with a geographer who has exported a file .ai from the Arc GIS mapping software. I have no problem editing the file it has generated, but the two lines below have not come as they appear here. I tried to find a way to reproduce these using the function of race but so far no luck. for the bottom one using a white dotted line on a continuous black line looked very much like a straight line, but when applied to curved lines needed for this art that they also staggered, "boxes became the shape of the keys and lost their aspect square points. Anyone know how to get this effect of changeable lines?

Create 2 squares (a zero filled) and their project with the brush you, choose the point clouds brush.

Set the rotation relative to the path

You will have 2 shots in your appearance. One is the brushstroke for places, the other a regular feature. Add a transformation command to compensate for one of the paths so the trike's not going until the middle of the square.

.

You can use a dotted rather than scatter brush, but that wouldn't work for your triangles.

There are small flaws with the help of brush of scatterplots (without distortion) or brush model (distorted, maybe too) features on the curved parts, but if your curves are minimal, as shown in the example, you'll have to worry about that.

  • Can I specify more than one master para to the mapping of the page?

    Hello

I want to map the same master page to be used by the four different tags. Should I create a new line in the mapping for each table or can we separate the names of tags by a comma and a space, for example, 'body, Bullet, Heading1, Note "?

I tried the latter and should work, but it did not.

    Thank you

    Sean

    >... to create a new line in the mapping for each table...

That works and it has no side effects I've seen.

It appears, moreover, that FM applies the Member from the first tag found para which has a MasterPageMaps table entry, so multiple matches per page, even contradictory, are not a problem, as long as obtaining the Member first found is OK with you.

  • What should I use to draw lines on a map?

Is it a drawing of the tool that you can attach to your computer to draw lines? The cursor is not precise enough to draw lines on a map (jpeg). Is there a tool I can buy and fix to draw on my screen using PS?

Thank you post again - I recommend no doubt using the pen for what you are trying to do. Trying to map free hand lines is very difficult, but the pen tool offers precise control. I have outlined some steps for you to follow below.

    1. open your image and select the Pen tool from the toolbar, as shown below.

    2. I would recommend zoom in your image to make it easier for you to track on the lines of the complex plane. To do this, select view > Zoom In, or hitting "control +" (Windows) or ' command + ' (Mac) on your keyboard.

    3. then create a new layer by clicking the new layer in the layers panel, as shown below. Draw your lines of card on a new layer to preserve your original map image in case you make a mistake or want to start over.

4 using the Pen tool, tracing on the lines of the map of your boot image. Here I begin to Bellevue and suite I90 to Ellensburg. Using the tool pen takes some practice. To get detailed help about how to use the pen tool, watch videos of Terry White I linked in my previous post.

    5. Once you have finished tracing over the lines of the map, go in the tracks Panel by clicking on the "Paths" tab in your layers panel.

    6. in the tracks Panel, click the icon of the path highlighted below. This caresseront the way you created using your most recent Brush tool settings - I will go into this more again to the next step.

    7. you can see that the way that I created with my pen tool has been rubbed with yellow and aligns very well with the original line of the card. You can change the size and color of your run by selecting the Brush tool in the toolbar and clicking the tools described below.

    8. when I have to zoom out, you can see I have drawn precisely the line of the card. I did it very quickly so with patience, you can create extremely accurate map lines.

I highly recommend watching the video of Terry White on how to use the pen tool. The pen tool is the best way to create very relevant and precise lines apart from the purchase of an external drawing tablet.

I hope this has helped! Good luck!

  • How to create the map that updates only the changed lines

    Hello

I have a map that made a merger (update/insert) in a table. The problem is that it will always update all rows in this table. I want to update only the changed lines.

Some dummy code that shows what I want to do.
    Current situation (all lines updated):

    FUSION
    IN
    Table 1-t1
    USING
    (select key_column, Column1, Column2 from table2) t2
    ON)
    T1.key_column = t2.key_kolumn
    )

    WHEN MATCHED THEN
    UPDATE
    SET
    T1. Column1 = t2.column1
    T1. Column2 = t2.column2
    WHEN NOT MATCHED THEN
    INSERT
    (t1.key_column, t1.column1, t1.column2)
    VALUES
    (t2.key_column, t2.column1, t2.column2);

What I'm trying to get (only changed the lines updated):
    FUSION
    IN
    Table 1-t1
    USING
    (select key_column, Column1, Column2 from table2) t2
    ON)
    T1.key_column = t2.key_kolumn
    )

    WHEN MATCHED THEN
    UPDATE
    SET
    T1. Column1 = t2.column1
    T1. Column2 = t2.column2
    * WHERE
    T1. Column1! = t2.column1
    or t1.column2! = t2.column2*
    WHEN NOT MATCHED THEN
    INSERT
    (t1.key_column, t1.column1, t1.column2)
    VALUES
    (t2.key_column, t2.column1, t2.column2);

WHERE in WHEN MATCHED t clause is that I'm not able to create via OWB in the mapping. How is that possible?
I tried to look for the solution here and google without success

    Thank you!

    Hello

you left outer join table2, with table1. Then use a filter to determine which rows in which an attribute has changed or no towing in table1 where found.
To compare attributes use expression with nvl to properly handle nulls: nvl(table2.my_attribute,'#')! = nvl(table1.my_attribute,'#')

    Kind regards
    Carsten.

  • Card problem OBIEE - points on the map illustrated with two different images.

VI have obiee 11.1.1.7.1 where we have an analysis with a card.

The base map and the theme is created in 11.1.1.7.3 mapbuilder.

VI have a variable shape layer in the OBIEE plan. The shape is a circle, and has four different locations (using four different colors to show the differences).

A query can show 20-30 positions on the map.

    So far so good.

When we run the analysis, the following occurs:

    1. circles of 20-30 (with one of four different colors) are presented correctly on the map. These results appear directly on the map once we click on "Apply"

2 an hourglass appears and we will have to wait for 20 to 60 seconds.

3 then an "x" appears in each of the 20-30 circles and the hourglass disappears. The 'x' is the mapbuilder theme that we created if we do not have any Style 'Render' associated with the Style. If we have a rendering style, for example a simple small point, this point then appears with the circle.

Our question is how we can force mapbuilder for not making the 'x' in the map. That's where we get terrible response time.

    Best regards

    Joel

We have solved the problem using only the datawharehouse data to generate BI data layers.

We have created a new BI data layers using variable forms. Then, we chose a layer of bridge custom rather than use the MapBuilder theme that we created earlier. Then, we used the points Long/Lat for the generation x and y.

  • Motion by lines on a map

    Hello

I want to create a motion to the map that I have attached. I created it in photoshop, and I wish the lines branch out to their final destination, once the user scroll down to the map.

I know how to make a line or object moving on the screen, but I can't understand how the beginning of lines and the "branch" to their final place.

    Make sense?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Map.jpg

Photoshop certainly not suited for this purpose. As noted above, you should redo all CC animate...

I can recommend another alternative solution:

Again all in Adobe Illustrator. Export to SVG. Then use this widget Trace | SVG Icon Widget for Adobe Muse by MuseThemes host

  • Animation of zoom/dolly in the map of the world, the best workflow?

Hi all, I'm animating maps for a travel agency and they want me to zoom to a vision of the world in smaller places, like Costa Rica for example. Then animate a few lines and icons on the map in 3D. I've attached a video link of a that I already have. I work with an illustrator maptorian of the world card and import the illustrator file in AE. Can I use a camera to dolly in and making all the moves. My problem is that AE runs VERY slowly when you work with such a giant illustrator file (there must be millions of vectors). I tried to work with PNG files exported, but resolutions should be too big for them not to Pixelize (200 million pixels is not enough!) and then I met the same problems of slowness.

A second problem I have is with the shadows. because my illustrator file imports as 2800 x 1600 when I Zoom so far (although I am rastoring) my elements are only 1 pixel above the map (or at least this is the unit of measure AE uses even with the base vector files) so as you can see in the video the shadows move around annoyingly.

Can someone advise me on a path that I could work with a low card-based pixel resolution of the whole world and then zoom in on a small card vector space, that I need to work. Or any other ideas are welcome.

I'm using a Mac pro running 10.11.6 with 6 core and 16 GB of ram and AMD graphics cards.

    AE is 13.8.1

    Thank you

The illustrator file is highly textured and takes too much time to calculate, you should cut your chart into segments. I made maps of the world for many years of news and documentaries, to show the world to zoom in on a country and a city. You should separate you graphic into segments. map of the world say 4000 x 4000 pixels for example. and costa rica to 4000 x 4000. now composite costa rica on your map of the world. My guess is that you have a few places to zoom in on so just make these large sizes and place them on your map. If you have a high resolution on a large file low resolution.

For example, this card I did. I have to get all the way zoomed between the Morocco and the Spain, then completely out to part of the Middle East.

So I have this model master 1605x905px

You can see the limits of layers. I carefully place one above the other and resize it down. so I have a map of the area I zoom in to 1313x922px reduced to 60%. now, because I had yet another card on top of these 2 and he had to be reduced to very low values that are more difficult to place, I created a precomp with collapse and inside, there is another card to 2356x1493px 7% nationally.

This way I can cover on the other and do not have too many pixels at the same time.

Another example more complex because it contains more elements which must be organized differently to support a fine composition on both zoomed in and zoomed in on the map.

same idea. This type of card is dissolved in as I crash zoom

This guy a precomp with many items I can carefully place if the composition does not suit me perfectly.

    Fun, right?

  • How can I remove the dotted lines around the tag?

If set browser.display.focus_ring_style to zero, I always see the dotted line.
You can see this problem on this site (when click on the map). But the problem gets more complicated on the other computer everything is normal.

I see what you mean. There is a pattern once the image has been selected.

  • Incoming Fax page, left thick black line down the side edge

    Hello

I recently bought a HP Photosmart 7520 printer and had to return because of a wrong switch ON / OFF the printer.  So I returned and bought another. This second printer works perfectly so far!  However, when I recieive a fax, the page has a very thick Black Line crosses the length (less than an inch from top and down) on the left edge. It almost seems to be a template for a fax page?  The first printer (a returned) did not do that, but it does not appear on the second printer.  In addition, the original page fax I sent to my friend and he said, that it doesn't have a thick black line on the fax page, he gets... and then he sent me along a return fax with this black line appears.

    Hello

For more than a week since my last post. And I also had the printer connected to an outlet of power strip surge protector (never needed to connect directly to a wall, which I would have if I had a problem).  The problem has been resolved by replacing the large black ink cartridge, which was not printing text.

In addition, earlier when I check the ink level, he showed the graphics still about 1/4 rest in the cartridge. I had also previously clicked on tell me when the ink level is low. None of this happened?  So now I have to watch closely what is printing a page of text clean/good.

So for now, the printer is good to go and I hope not to have more problems... thank you for your help!

  • HP 8740: Vertical lines, while the scanning & photocopies

I bought a new HP8740 about three weeks ago and everything worked well until today.

Now I have black vertical lines down the scan or photocopy.

First of all, I turned off the printer for 30 seconds and put the plug directly into the wall.  It did not work.

I turned off - unplugged for 5 minutes - but still has the black lines.

Can someone please suggest something else I can try.

Hello @gouldian, thank you very much for your answer.

The only difference between the analysis of the dumpster and using the ADF is where scanning occurs. Uses of the ADF Strip glass (1 "wide) toward the left side of the pane of glass for analysis. Cleaning if ideally white scanner ADF lid and glass ADF scanner should have solved the problem.

I suggest you to do a blank copy on ADF, keep the page in front of you and carefully clean the place, you get the line in the band scanner & the white plastic strip.

If the issue is always I suggest you to clean the ADF mechanism itself. You can watch a video of HP http://hp.care/2bYt7Qu that will help you to do this. The video is made using the Officejet 8600 printer, but it's the same for your printer as well.

Please let me know what happens. Thank you!

    See you soon

  • Black lines on the right side of the printed document Hp 8600 N911g

I have problems with my HP 8600N911g.  I have several vertical black lines on the printed page of right hand margin.  This only happens when I copy or scan. Printing from my pc is fine.  I did all the cleaning, cutting for over an hour and reset to factory default.  NOTHING WORKS.  Help, please.  I love the printer hp but tire of their problems, which are few, but when they occur, they are doozies.

    I am on Windows 7

    Hi peggymay.

Welcome to the HP Forums, I hope you enjoy your experience! To help you get the most out of the Forums of HP, I would like to draw your attention to the Guide of the Forums HP first time here? Learn how to publish and more.

Sorry to hear that you are having problems with black lines on your scans or copies.  I had this problem myself on my 8600 very clean and I was able to get it to be resolved. The question arises in fact from two locations and with a little luck, we can get this problem solved for you. First thing to look at is under the hood of the scanner. Lift the cover on the left of the large scanner glass and scanner, you will see a small strip of glass. Take a glass clear cleaner and a lint cloth and clean the small glass placed as well as the large glass. On the underside of the lid, you will see a white plastic strip. Please clean it as well. IF you have already done these steps please proceed to the next step.

The printer power cable must be connected to a wall outlet and NOT a power strip/Bar. HP printers have built in surge protector and if you have it plugged into a strip/Bar, the printer will NOT get all the power needed for the proper functioning and it will cause problems with scans or copies, and it might even generate false error messages on the printer screen.

Please try these steps and if they work, fantastic. But if they are not, please do not hesitate to write me again.

I thank very you much for your time.  Always happy to help.

    What are the alignment markers.

If you don't want them, turn them off:

    go to the OPTION menu

    the global preferences

On the PCB Design tab, you will see a box with the post-processing

Here, you can turn off snap lines
