Wallpapers flashes a blue screen with a desktop screen

Product: HP ENVY TouchSmart 15 t-j000 Select Edition CTO Notebook PC, model C9G48AAR, product number: C8P45AV
Problem: Once connected, the screen flashes start screen randomly and does not respond to any input.
Effort: We followed the instructions on the HP web site for this symptom (desktop screen will Flash between a blank blue screen with a task bar and a desktop on startup (Windows 8) computer screen), but it failed at step 8 - start screen flashes in Mode safe mode with no way to find or enter step "Control Panel." We have also restored the system to the last restore point, reinstall the memory and reset the BIOS - all the HP recommended processes for video problems.
Current situation: we have yet to solve problems via the web HP site first; This has left us speechless. We went to the "Contact HP" to discuss with the service agent, but discovered that our warranty expired a week ago. We were directed to the help forum. The laptop is my son and is used for his college course. We need to help, you can provide as quickly as possible. Thank you!

I have advanced and complete steps 8-14 in the correction procedure from HP, including the center of the Action to "never check solutions" are reduced to problem reports. Then we went ahead and made the Microsoft Updates that were pending since we had it restored to a previous restore point. So far so good! The flashing screen problem is not returned. Until that Microsoft published a fix for this problem, I think that bypass it HP will keep us to leave. Thank you!

Could I ask a favor? A HP contact named Mason was initially to help us with this problem, but all attmepts to repsond to his e-mails ended in a failure to deliver ("Diagnostic - code 554).

I ordered the Dell XP disc and did the re-install. It works fine now. The Dell technical support had me do some updates on the web as well. I have not had problems since. What happened with the automatic updates completely wiped out my operating system. At least I don't have to buy a new computer.

If nothing else works, try reinstalling your operating system. It worked for me.

  • Windows XP Professional blue screen/loop

I have a computer that I had difficulty. It has Windows XP Professional. As it starts, it passes POST, however it stops during the BIOS. And the start-up process in a loop. Before the loop is executed at the beginning, I'm able to see a flash of blue screen. I am not able to pause the screen fast enough to watch error numbers. However, with knowing that it is Windows XP Professional, I was able to boot from a CD to get to a command line to fix. I was located on drive C. I typed then helps the command to ensure that the orders that I knew would work. Seeing as both, I am aware of were there, I then typed fixboot. Once completed, I restarted without the CD. He is always in a loop. I followed the steps with the CD once more, but rather used the fixmbr command and rebooted without the CD. Shut up always. I, with my knowledge of computer science as a student of computer science and technology, came personally to the conclusion that it may be a corrupted registry. Would be using the manual system restore may solve the problem? If so, use the manual located on this url to use for this OS? http://www.technibble.com/how-to-disable-automatic-restart-for-bsod-if-you-are-unable-to-get-into-windows/. Thank you.

I was able to fix the laptop. Thanks for your good help. It ends up being a hard drive error that I was able to fix by using MS-DOS. I was able to refine due to the use of the chkdsk command. Thanks again for your help.

  • Blue screen appears to be related to anti-virus software

    Hi all

I'm running Win7 64 Home with 8 GB of RAM and a Q8300 Intel Core 2 Quad core chip.  The system is a gateway DX I bought in 2009 (or 2010) but I don't remember the actual model number.
I started having BSOD frequently (several times a day) shortly after the installation of the Avast antivirus about 1 month ago.  When I uninstalled Avast and passed to Microsoft Security Essentials the BSOD went to once or twice a week, but they never did disappear completely and they get even more frequent.  They are typically preceded by a warning that my antivirus was cut off, then a quick flash of blue screen and reboots the system.
Recently, I replaced my hard drive (about 2 1/2 months of passes) with a Seagate Barracuda ST500DM002 500 GB 7200 RPM SATA disk that required new drivers to make it work with Win7.  I don't know if that is related.
The only other new material (6 weeks) is the combo keyboard and mouse wireless Microsoft Sculpt.
Another novelty that may or may not be related: I've been using utility LastPass password for years on Chrome and recently (past 24 hours), it refuses to connect to the server.
I ran check memory Windows and utility ChkDsk and both returned without reported problems.
Here is a link to my dump files and my report of DriveView.

  • Re: Blue screen after using the Qosmio F10 recovery CD

    Hello

I tried to use the recovery CD (XP) for my fathers Qosmio F10. I chose option 1 to return to the factory default. It seems to work fine but after it's over he says remove the CD and reboot I did. It was then restarted but flashed a blue screen for a split second before restarting. I did not see what is the Blue error screen, as it flashes up too fast. Then, it takes me to the configuration screen and asks me to choose whether to start Windows normally or SafeMode etc. All options give me the same result.

He said if I choose to boot to the last known good configuration:

"windows was not start because the following file is missing or damaged:
    \WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\config\SYSTEM

You can try to repair this file by starting windows setup using the CD-ROM Moose
Select 'r' in the first screen to start repair. "

Of course, I do not have an original Windows CD, I just the recovery CD.

I checked to spit on the disc but its perfect.

I have a complete backup of all of the HDD on an external USB disk if that would help?

Don't know what to do next?

    So just in the summary;
You have checked the RAM, HARD drive and tried to install the Windows operating system several times but without success

Well, maybe you should try to boot from a Linux live disc to check if the BSOD appears again?  :|
How about Windows XP installation by using the diskette in MS Windows.
    It s worth a try

Last but not lease, you will need to replace the memory modules RAM and HARD drive
I mean the different HARD disk and RAM tests are useful, but it will not replace tests using new parts
I think that this should be done by a qualified technician because he could test it before buying spare parts

  • Help! I flashed my N500 with G530 (4446 MT only) BIOS update! Now a blue screen!

    Hi all

Feeling very stupid, as I have several years of experience in IT and, in trying to fix N500 machine to a customer, I downloaded the drivers wrong (impossible to find the network drivers for the N500 at all online that was the problem) for the G530 (4446 MT only) and proceeded to Flash BIOS N500 with bad update. Now, I get a blue screen and I can not find if the laptop is in warranty that the site does not accept my valid serial number! Help, please!

  • HP Pavilion 500-330 Desktop PC blue screen with the cursor after the start

I have a desktop computer Pavilion 500-330 Windows 8.1 running on a 64-bit system. The problem is after the start, a blue screen with a cursor appears, and the computer does not go to the lock screen.  I did restore, get updates and even left the only blue screen, but after many hours, he was always there.  If I do a force re-booting, the lock screen comes, but not always immediately.  There is no problem to wake up when it is in "standby".

    Any help will be appreciated.

    Hello again @padway,

Actually, if you already did a cover of the plant on your computer the problem you describe seems to be a physical problem. Please contact our technical support at the 800-474-6836. If you do not live in the United States / Canada region, please click the link below to get help from your region number. http://www8.hp.com/us/en/contact-hp/ww-phone-assist.html. As a recovery plant excludes any kind of software problem this is your best course at this time. A technician from the local computer or a computer repair shop may be an option if you are not in the warranty as well.

I want to thank you for display on the HP Forums. Have a great day!

  • Safari gave me a blue screen of death, calling the Microsoft blue screen of death after installing Adobe flash player. The van is responsible for me to a Microsoft third-party technical support I did not trust anyone at - he had a problem with Adobe flash

Safari gave a blue screen of death after downloading Adobe flash player do not have access to in-house. Big sign telling me that my computer from Microsoft was blocked and to call this number that was, according to the individual, I spoke, a third party provider working for. Microsof. Everyone knows this. I do not trust them especially when they declared they wanted to log into my calculation. Is there one resolution other than OS X Recovery?

There are hundreds of these sites to scam out there. Nothing has been installed on your Mac, or even downloaded to. The goal of each of them should Miller get so much money that you're ready to spit. Good thing you cut them and not give them access to your Mac.

The usual simple solution is Force Quit Safari. Hold down the SHIFT key, and then restart it. The SHIFT key tells Safari don't not to load the previous sites.

  • desktop icons covered by a blue screen with the white question mark

My desktop icons have a blue circle with a white question mark hide them.

These are icons by programs such as Norton 360 backup and are used to indicate certain conditions such as the status of the backup. You must go into the program generating overlays and disable this setting. In the case of Norton that would be settings in the main window and then uncheck the backup status overlays.
  • Flash HP mini 311-1037n blue screen.

Im trying to fix my friends computer hp mini 311. I replaced the hard drive with a 500 GB hard drive and installed windows 7 ult 32 x hard disk using another computer. It works fine in another desktop computer. Now, when I put it in the HP mini itll briefly begin to load windows then flashing blue screen and reset, then produced to bring up the repair of the system. I have run the repair of the system several times and when I hit finish it a few repeats itself (attempting to loading windows). Please help me if you can.

    Hello

I see that you encounter a problem starting the laptop computer. Now, if you went out hard and tested in another laptop and it works very well, most probably the motherboard gives you the BSOD.

You can try and test the drive in the BIOS so that we can be 100% positive that the hard drive is not the culprit here. Start Notepad, and then press F10 to access the BIOS. After accessing the BIOS follow this document if you can't reach the BIOS then I would suggest contacting HP@8004746836 or get a local technician to take a look at the motherboard.

    Let me know the results.

If you have any other questions please let me know.

  • Blue screen of death WITHOUT Flash Player!

When I try to watch video on YouTube I have Blue Screen Of Death. Sometimes after 1 min and sometimes after 10 min. I have installed Adobe Flash Player because it is not necessary to watch videos on YouTube. I checked disable "enable hardware acceleration and I always get BSOD.» I am running Windows 8.1 with all the updates, and also I've always updated Firefox when there is a new update. I tried to install Flash Player and tried all the solutions I found on the internet but non of them work so I uninstalled Flash Player. On Google Chrome, everything works normally, but I don't want to switch to him whenever I want to watch some videos in the fear of having BSOD. Please if anyone has a solution or an idea, it would be very useful. Thanks in advance!

Hmm, since you have already disabled the main hardware acceleration, it could be a problem with the video (or audio) decoding. For video decoding, you can try these setting changes:

    (1) in a new tab, type or paste Subject: config in the address bar and press enter/return. Click on the button promising to be careful.

    (2) in the search above the list box, type or paste media and make a pause so that the list is filtered

    (3) double-click the preference media.directshow.enabled to true to false

    (4) double click on the media.mediasource.mp4.enabled preference from true to false

    (5) double-click the preference media.mediasource.webm.enabled to false to true

    (6) double-click the preference media.windows - media - foundation.enabled from true to false

The effect of everything that should be blocking MP4/h.264 decoding and place you in the latest format WebM (VP9) YouTube. You can check the result on this page, but that might not show up after leaving Firefox and start it again:

https://www.YouTube.com/HTML5 (the two h.264 should be red)

It's not so convenient for other video sites, but I'm curious to know if it helps on YouTube or has the same problems.

  • WANT to PC dv7: at startup, I get a blue screen with a :( Your PC has encountered a problem and needs to restart.

While I was using my laptop I received a message that HP was running some sort of program disagnostic and in the end, he asked if I wanted to repair the problems. I declined the offer. However, the next time I turned on the computer, I saw the first time the HP logo, then the message "automatic repair Preparation". After a few seconds there is a short rectangle that flashes on and disappears. Then I got a blue screen with: your PC encountered a problem and needs to restart. We will restart for you. "Who starts a blue screen and reboot cycle. Blue screens replacement error messages saying: "If you want to learn more, you can search online for later for this error" and once it will say 'FAT file system' and once 'NTFS file system. I have spent to support HP dv7 ENVY page and tried the suggestions of repair without success. Is it possible to go beyond these two error messages and their blue screens to get my system working again? If so, how?

    Hello

Error code 24 characters is a failure of the short test (DST) disk Self and would indicate that hard is defective and must be replaced.  It is also consistent with your description of the problem.

If your laptop is still under warranty, contact HP and arrange for the disk replaced - if necessary, you can check the status of your warranty here.

If you live in the United States, contact HP here.

If you are in another part of the world, begin here.

If you are no longer under warranty, it's a fairly simple procedure to replace the HARD drive yourself - a brief guide on this is below.

Readers on the following links are examples that would be perfect for your laptop.

    Hard drive 500 GB

    750 GB hard drive.

    1 TB laptop hard drive.

The procedure to replace the hard drive begins on Page 56 of your maintenance & Service Guide.

About reinstalling Windows 10 on new HARD drive, as long as the previous installation of Windows 10 had activated Ok after upgrading to Windows 7/8.1, you can simply create your own Windows 10 installation media and perform a new installation as described in the guide on the following link.  Note: On the activation screen, select "I have not a product key" - Windows will activate automatically once installation is complete.
