  • Business cards printing Avery: «the WANDERING MARGIN PROBLEM-upper margin question»

Does anyone have an idea if HP has an idea on how to charge someone to solve this problem of card perforated business stock do not print correctly?  This problem is now all over the internet.

I intend to consumerist on-site validation in the hope that they would return to the problem.

And look at all the other posts for business card printing problems that I looked into this forum and no there are no solutions.  And no huge thick shouldn't matter since everyone here has probably seen a HP catch upwards of more than 3 or more sheets of paper and print on the top, okay...

I suffer from this PROBLEM of MARGIN WANDERING too.  I have

have the printer of HP all-in-one Officejet Pro L7680, Windows XP, Office 2007, Microsoft Publisher, model Avery 8873.  I did everything correctly.  Always my business cards print perfectly on regular paper and they print directly from the upper part on the expensive card stock.  It's very frustrating.

I tried the ideas here.  I tried thick paper, map of Photo greeting, best quality and normal quality.  I tried holding my finger on the map slightly as it feeds in.  I tried folding the sides of the card upward slightly.  I get a print one out of every five success.  I'm so freakin disappointed I could scream.  I've been laid off and I put in network and interviews to attend to and I need my business cards!

Avery people are useless.  They wanted me to call Microsoft!  I kept saying 'Meg' alignment was very good for ordinary and incorrect paper with a stock of cards Avery.  I asked her if she knew thick HP for card stock printer settings.  She told me to call Microsoft.  I wonder if she was in fact an automaton that accepts no responsibility.

I thought I bought the best brand printer.  I tried the Brother brand.  They are really lousy.  I really expect HP to be better.

In the end, I got a few cards that are acceptable.  But I've lost 80%!  If you compare them they are not all aligned the same.  With capacities of shit like that I could just my printer scrap and the contract of employment at Office Depot.  Who needs this aggravation?

  • HP7510: When you print photos they come out the right size.

Today you have the printer and it works well with the output of good quality.  However if I try to print a MS Word document that contains a picture the photo comes out to about 120% of full size and overflows out of the page.  Any ideas?  I am an experienced user and have tried all the usual remedies.  OS is Windows 10 MS Word 2003 (yes I know it's old :-))

    @Bernard_S

    Odd.

    Rats.

Office Word 2003 is no longer supported.  File Windows 10 libraries system files and the links that connect dependencies (programs needed by desktop software and printer) changed - 'something' may be missing or damaged.

Regardless of the new file system Windows 10 and how he 'sees' a Word 2003 document, the question could be attributed to the program from the printer itself - a tiny missing statement which translates not correctly size the image, position, limits.

One or more of the following could reverberate - results, of course, depend on the cause of the problem (still unknown).  If one of the changes to trigger a file change internal - or how the document and the image are translated by the printing software - while change can help solve the problem.

Ideas - I hope that these apply to your Word Vintage:

    • If you have not done so, check the spacing of lines on each side of the image - Dragon document mention this (if I remember) provides an example.
    • Copy the image to a new name .jpg file > open the image in Paint (paint real, not 'fresh') > set up as if you are going to print and check the size, boundaries, the parameters.  Why use Paint instead of Picasso?  The painting is Windows.  Picasso is not.  If you want, print the image (although I doubt it will be necessary).  Place (insert) of the 'new' file in your document in place of the original image.
    • Try to temporarily remove the image > save close the document > open and insert the image in place.  If the image is small enough (fits left margins / right), left click on the image and use the arrows "decrease / increase indent ' to drag the image a little to one side or the other.
    • Turn on all the markings of the document - search for oddities.  Anchors in images could provide a clue about why the image is printing 'off limits '.
    • The value of the tight margins - print any of the pages on which is located the wandering image.
    • Copy the contents of the document in a WordPad document > save content > print a page that provides one of the problem images.  Check the result.
    • If you use fonts "bizarre" and maybe even if you don't do so, be sure that embed you the fonts in the document.
    • Setting word for Printing Options:

Control Panel > display icon > devices and printers >

    Right-click Printer > Printing Preferences > tab Layout > advanced >

On the printer side tab > preserve the page layout (select) Yes > OK

    • If all else fails, the document to a PDF output and printing that - or print the PDF file as an image.

I've probably missed something - if I have 'find', I'll post back.

  • My color laserjet 2860 only print in b & w on network based computers.

Since the computer usb it prints very well.  I wandered through all the settings and don't see anything obvious.  How to print in color?  One of the network is running XP and the original disk of software has been installed and the other is running Windows 7 and runs the PCL6 print HPUniveral.

Thanks anyway, I solved the problem by reinstalling the software.

  • Why can I not print?

I don't know if I'm posting in the right place - I tried to post a question to the experts online today, but he got the message: "You don't have sufficient privileges for this resource or its parent to perform this action." so... Even if I have a printer hp & hp laptop, and I am the administrator, I need additional "privileges" to ask a question? Please tell me how I can win those.

Or, if I AM in the right place to reach experts, I have a problem with my computer/printer connection. At least I think that's what it is - communicate you with each other, but the messages that are sent are incorrect.

I feel very well the other day, when all of a sudden, I got the message on my computer that I had a paper jam. I have checked the printer, removed the top & back, and there is no jam. And I have no problem copy, which I wouldn't be able to do if there is a jam.

I even dug a really old and decrepit Dell with Win XP, and even if it's the slow killer, it printed fine! So there must be a strange code stuck on the laptop.

    (Computer: TouchSmart tm2 - 1079cl - printer: hp Officejet 4215 all-in-one - OS: Win 7)

According to the small window of reading of my printer, everything is fine. Then why my computer keep telling me that there is a paper jam when there isn't one? And, of course, as long my laptop says there is a jam, nothing will be printed.

I need to be able to print to work, so I really really really hope that someone can help you!

    Thank you!!!

Thanks, Samierus & Jose. I finally managed to fix the computer, and now I'm printing again.

I rebooted the computer so many times without results, so this time I got the computer completely and left for an hour. I always knew that the problem was in Notepad and not in the printer, so I let the only printer.

When I turned the computer back on, I loaded the latest version of my Firefox browser, which I had been turned off for the past 3 updates. (I doubt it makes a difference, but who knows). I cleared my cache & cookies once more, took the computer down completely once more, for about 10 minutes, and when I got to the top, the wandering jam code had disappeared.

I just wanted to say 'Thank you' and let it go, but since I read so many posters with the same problem, some said there was no hope, and they had to buy a new printer, I thought I would post how I finally solved the problem of a paper jam that never existed.

  • print walks onto the page when printing business cards

When I print multiple sheets of business cards printing the page begins to wander to the top of the sheet.  If I only print one page at a time, this isn't a problem.  How can I fix?   I have an Officejet Pro e8100 printer works wirelessly on a Win 7 64 bit OS Home premium.

    RickT2,

    Welcome to the HP Forum.

If the first page prints OK and then subsequent pages tend to stick or the text wanders a bit, then perhaps adjust the media type would help.

    Assumption

Setting the media type tells the rolls expected in what kind of paper - this could help pull the paper but at the right speed and tension to allow the text to apply to the location appropriate during each pass.

Paper size and media Type are selected in the printing preferences:

Control Panel > display icon > devices and printers > right click on your printer >

Printing preferences > tab paper / quality >

Select the paper Source > have desired / needed by printer model

Select the paper size > have desired / necessary for the print job

Select Support > have desired / necessary for the print job - for example: paper matte brochure for labels

Thank you for using communities of Apple Support. It seems that you experience problems printing to a Wi - Fi printer. Looks like you already have a troubleshooting. I recommend reading this article, you have already done some steps here, but there is more information you have not mentioned by train.

If the issue is not resolved, take these last steps to remove all the drivers printer currently installed that might be causing the problem:

    3. From the Finder, choose go > go to folder. Type /Library/Printers/ , and then click surGo.
    4. The Printers folder opens. Choose Edition > select all to select all the items in the folder.
    5. Choose file > new folder with selection to all the selected items in a new folder named new folder with the elements.

  • My hp LaserJet 1022nw fails to analyze the download of the printer driver after that macOS Sierra upgraded.

After switching to macOS Sierra, my printer (hp LaserJet 1022nw) WiFi does not print work orders, even if the printer seems to be to receive the order of work and how to complete it in the work queue.  Connect the printer to my MacBook Pro via USB, I am able to print without problem.  Other computers on the network continue to be able to print wireless.  When I connect via USB and try to scan a updated driver, download cause analysis a software fault message.  Any ideas on how I could proceed to continue to connect and use my printer wireless with the new OS?  The 1022nw is detectable as a printer available (wi - fi) and can normally be added to the list of printers, but doesn't have the print queue even thought that they seem to have been dealt with, and then disappear from the queue.

Open System Preferences > Printers and Scanners and select the print tab.
