Should I get virus deleted on my PC before upgrading to Windows 10

Certainly, YES.  Even if the update installs new operating system components, other files remain intact on the hard drive.  Thus, the infection by the virus would still be there.

  • want to 7640: very poor print quality photo

    Photos printed on our 7640 desire come out cloudy even if they were taken with a quality camera and displayed on the computer screen into bright colors. We have installed new ink cartridges and verified that the photo paper is loaded correctly. Are the only parameters that seem to affect the photo printing quality (normal selection or the best gives the same print quality) and "sharpen for printing" (checking and unchecking this box will give the same result). What other options are there to improve the photo print quality?

    I read about the problems of print quality, you're facing your craving and I wanted to burst to share my suggestions that should help you.     I see you are trying to scan from your craving 7640 directly into Evernote on your PC. A program does not usually analyse in another program. Your best option would be to save documents to your computer using a program such as HP Scan and then open using Evernote.

  • want to 7640: impression of delay during wireless printing

    can enyone help me with my problem please.

    When I print a Word document or a fot it takes a few minutes to print it.

    the printer is connected with a networkcable on my router and I print wirelessly to the printer from the computer laptop and Ipad.

    How is it that it takes so long. is it because I have it plugged into my router, or is this something else.

    I installed the printer with the DVD that was in the box.

    Welcome to the Forums of HP Support!

    I see that you have some problems with printing from your PC to 10 Windows to your desire 7640 e - all - in - one printer. I can help you with that.

    First of all, this printer does not have the capabilities of cable network. Whatever the cable runs from your printer to your router needs to be removed. Once the summer is over, make sure that the printer is plugged directly into a wall outlet, not a surge protector. Now:

    1. Turn the printer off.
    2. While the printer is turned off, disconnect the power cable from the back of the router for a minute.
    3. When the lights come back on the router, turn on the printer.

  • want to 7640: duplicate printers, different names

    My desire 7640 will not print on the internet.  I found that there are two printers and told me to choose a.  I have only one printer.  The names are: HP Envy 7640 series (network) and HPE2C76C (HP Envy 7640 series).  I uninstlled nd re-instlled printer, updated the driver for windows 10.  The same problem.  I don't remember seeing two printers listed.  No other changes have been made.  Thanks for any help

    I finally got to work.  What I had to do was completely uninstall everything, but I have not used the standard uninstall program.  I used Maxuninstall.  Then I re-instslled the printer on the HP website, not the DVD.  Configure the wireless network and now everything works fine.  There is only one printer.  The only thing different from the first time has been using Maxuninstall and installation of HP and not the DVD.

  • Want to 7640 e - everything - in - a: impossible 7640 HP wireless printing

    I buy a HP Envy 7640 in end of January 2016 and never have to connect wiressly to my MacBook Pro for more than one print job.  The printer tells me there is no connection, no printer found, or even no paper - when it is completely filled with paper.   I followed the suggestions posted in the forums and nothing works.  I have to reset the printer each time I print.  All software are up to date, I have reinstalled the printer readers, etc.  I was not able to print 24 pages in 2 1/2 months. I bought it at Best Buy, where the return for refund or is fifteen days.  I had HP printers for 20 years.  I am very disappointed.  I would like to return the HP printer.  I saw the information on a forum in recent weeks.  Please help me.  I need a reliable wireless printer.

  • At startup, a pop-up window appears that wants to update virus Possible backup "Cloud"? Ethernet doesn't work anymore.

    Win 7 64 professional. on Gigabit P45T-ES3G, cpu: Intel E8400, 8GiB ram, controller Ethernet Realtek 8111 / 8168B.
    Initial symptom: cannot access network - that is to say everything that is connected to the Ethernet port... System worked OK for months. Problem started
    little by little, but is now 100% failure.  Checked the TCP/IPv4 properties and is set to addr IP 192.168.1.105, subnet 255.255.255.1 gateway default 192.168.1.1 and server preferred DNS 8.8.8.8 alternate 8.8.4.4.
    Ran a LiveCD of PCLINUX 2012.2 on the machine, all the functions of the Ethernet (Internet and printers) are working perfectly, so material is OK.
    Quite recently noted a pop-up "Cloud Backup" start-up that wants to send some kind of so-called information backup somewhere.
    I can post a screenshot (png file), if I was told how to.  (I have the screen shot, I downloaded on a USB - stick, and)
    can send this computer). The context menu offers a "Cancel" button I choose always.
    I went to msconfig and two programs found "backup" in their names: NTI BackupNow EZ and EasUS Todo backup Applications
    and not both, but the popup still appears at startup.  I can't find anything in the Remove Programs list that looks at it could be this.
    I ran Microsoft Security Analyzer and MS malicious software removal tool, and both are nothing after full several sweeps of the hour.
    I also have AVG and CCleaner, which do not complain either. Any other symptom: I think that the starting time is excessive.

    I would be EXTREMELY reluctant to reinstall Windows, I have some paid programs, but also a fee which has been rather difficult to install
    due to its Protocol of security installation.

    first of all, be careful with this clearner. I wouldn't recommend them at all. At best they delete files you want to join, at worst they are doing bad things in your registry!

    Pass, you can have a few ongoing struggles (at least the potential for it) with AVG and MSE... I would recommend Malware Bytes anti-malware detection.

    You are probably right to be curious, I don't know why 'cloud' would need backup.

    Can you connect in safe mode?

  • WANT to 7640 e - all - in - one printer: printer prints directly from scanning screen except on/off again.

    It is a machine purchased in the last 6 weeks.  No problem of implementation.  It prints beautifully our computers/devices.  Initially all the printing (computers, screen and paper is inserted) worked perfectly.  Starting last week, twice when I tried to insert a page to print, the paper stuck, and I had to carefully remove under the rollers.  Then I tried to print a page directly from the hard screen - the printer 'stunned', as it was printing, but nothing appeared.  I pressed the 'X' to stop the operation, has opened the lid, removed the paper and the small round icon kept spinning, spinning, spinning.  I was unable to turn off the printer, (it would have not responded to efforts by pressing the 'power' button) called the hotline (contain a record 45 minutes and transferred twice).  A man extraordinarily annoyed-sounding told me that the problem was that we had plugged the printer on a "power strip".  So I unplugged the printer from the power strip and directly into the wall, turned on the printer and could not reproduce the problem.   During the week, twice, to get the printer to print from the screen, I had to turn the machine off and turn on again.  Today, I printed my computer successfully, then immediately tried to make a copy directly from the screen.  Same problem - had to press 'X' to stop the machine because the printer was not print, then had to turn off the entire printer / disable again seized printed the screen successfully.  I didn't call the helpline because I only have 45 minutes to lose :-)  Please let me know if I need to provide additional information, and I would appreciate any help that anyone can give me.  A whole new machine should not give these problems!  Thank you!

    Document feeders can be used for copying, scanning and fax. You load the document feeder and make sure you select it as your source in your software. It is used for scanning, faxing, or copies of several documents at once. Use normal size paper and has the ability to do so; two-sided printing, landscape, portrait, and images.

    By default, if you select "Scan Picture", the file type is jpeg.

    I see that you have problems when printing from your computer on Windows 10 to your wireless connected e HP ENVY 7640 printer all-in-one. I would like to help you to solve this problem today!

    Let's try the following steps:

    Step 1: Remove the driver:

    1. click on the Start button

    2. type programs and features. If a search does not start automatically, you will need to type programs and features in the area of "Ask Me anything".

    3. click on programs and features to launch the window.

    4. in programs and features, will populate a list of the programs installed on your computer. Please scroll down and find your HP Envy. If you see your HP Envy in the list, click it and choose Uninstall.

    5 follow the prompts on the screen to complete the uninstallation. Once the uninstall is complete successfully please close programs and features.

    6. then, click on the menu start of new

    7. this time type devices

    8 click on devices and printers to launch the window.

    9. in devices and printers are looking for your HP Envy. If you see if if please right click above and choose 'Remove' or 'Remove'.

    10. Once your HP Envy is no longer showing in devices and printers please click on any device in the list of Printers once just to highlight. Click the print server properties on top

    11. click on the drivers tab

    12. search for your driver HP Envy . If the list, please click it and choose delete

    13. Select delete the driver only

    14. Select OK

    15. click apply and then OK in the print server properties window.

    16. close devices and printers. Please proceed to the next step.

    Step 2: Remove temporary files:

    1. click on the Start menu

    2. type run. Click on Run to launch the run dialogue box.

    3. tap folder in the run box, and then click OK

    4. when the Temp folder, open select Ctrl + A at the same time on your keyboard. Everything in this folder will highlight now.

    5. Select the "delete" button on your keyboard. The Temp folder contains the temporary internet files. None of the actual files or folders on your computer will be affected by deleting Temp files. A Temp file should you will automatically get the pop up to 'jump' this point.

    6. close the Temp folder when it is empty

    7. right-click the recycling bin on your desktop and select empty recycling bin. Please proceed to the next step.

    Step 3: Install the device:

    1. Please click here to download and install the package to the full functionality of the software and the driver for your printer
    2. Once the download is complete, follow the prompts on the screen to install your printer

    Once installation completed test print.
