  You can be confused by sloppy terminology used to describe how the computers are connected to the Internet.

  Your error message may refer to the absence of a dial-up modem.

  1. What is the brand and model of the printer?

  Try these steps and check the result.

  Step 1: Force the driver to install as administrator
  a. right click on the printer driver installation file, and then click Properties.
  b. click on the Compatibility tab.
  c. under "Privilege level" place a check on "run this program as an administrator".
  d. click ok to apply the changes.
  e. open the configuration file and install it.

  Check if the printer is compatible with Windows Vista. Some users have solved this problem by running the driver in Windows XP compatibility mode.

  Step 2: Case of failure of step 1, then try to run the driver in compatibility mode
