waste ink 940c

The ink waste in my Deskjet 940C is completely filled and now print correctly.  Is it possible to order a new pad and change it?

Hi @georgia1026

It is not a replaceable part, but what you could do is try to sweep the residual ink, with something like foam pads? It can be a difficult area to access, but I hope that you will be able to clean it up a bit.

Hope this helps

  • I can't go to my printer. It will not recognize the ink cartridges are full!

My epson 7400 has not been used for 6 months. I cleaned and aligned the nozzles and it used 2 full cartridges. I installed new ink cartridges, and he says they are empty. Now none of the buttons work, it does not seem to recognize all commands. What should I do?

    Hello

    Turn the printer off

Unplug the printer from the computer and the wall outlet

    Reinstall the cartridges

Support all the ink cartridges until they snap into place to make sure that they are well housed

Close the cartridge cover and push it down until it snaps

    Close the scanner

Press on the Stop button to start loading of ink. It takes about 2 minutes.

When the the light stops flashing and remains on, the ink load is complete

    Caution:

Never turn off the Epson Stylus CX while ink is in charge or you'll be wasting ink.

If the ink light flashes, press on the Stop button and lower all the cartridges safely

    Manually clean the print heads

Plug the printer into the wall outlet and the computer.  Turn it on and try printing again.

  • waste on a Photosmart 8250

I have a photosmart 8250 printer that uses an extremely small and expensive cartridges, I need to find a way to minimize waste. HP recommends that, when the printer is not used to turn it off (usually I do that); However, when I print something and the machine turns on itself, she goes to a nozzle cleaning, which waste a lot of ink. What can I do to minimize waste?

    Bayo

    Hello

In fact, the 8250 is amazing for its ability to not waste ink.  I always was a little embarrassed that we don't have the market like crazy, but I'll give you the short version.

What is the system, prevent air to accumulate above nozzles and kill her.  It is spewing a lot of ink.  However, the 8250 he spilled ink on the whole of the inside of the nozzle plate to remove the air, then the ink through the recirculation system.  What you hear, is the pump moving ink autour, not nozzles being drawn.  Thus, your waste of ink is being minimized for you all by preventing konking out nozzles.

Hope it's a no-brainer.  Let me know if something is not make sense for you.

  • Behavior very stange Photosmart B9180, prints with a huge amount of ink

Today, I have a huge problem (ink) with my photosmart B9180

I noticed that the prints come out almost dripping black ink. The ink flows paper and consists of all kinds of ink colors

I tried HP paper glossy advanced photo

When I select plain paper, (the best) it works OK

When choosing among other documents, the problem occurs.

I tried settings such as (printer / mac color management), (settings of photo paper / glossy, mast... etc)

I tried advanced options - volume of ink slider to the left

I have tried electric bike/off voltage

I tried to reinstall the printer with the HP website software

Then I made an A4 composition in photoshop all white with a colored bar little degraded in the middle (not to waste ink during the test)

The stange thing I noticed, is that the print head sweeps on all the white parts as well as printing something?

Can someone explain what is happening here?

I lost too much paper and ink...

    Hi all

the problem is caused by Apple update for HP Printer Drivers Version 2.7.

This isn't the only failure in this package. (I'm not sure if it's great to use this same update for Mac OS 10.6 and 10.7).

Of course to restore the folder 'hp' in/library/printers/to using Time Machine should solve the problem.

Clearer to solve the problem is to do following steps:

-Remove from the list of printers HP printers (System Preferences > print and fax (MacOS 10.6) / print and scan (Mac OS 10.7))

-Move the entire folder "hp" / Library/Printers/in trash

-Download and install HP drivers Update Version 2.6 from the following link:

    FTP://hppsu2_6:7iy * [email protected]/

    -Restart the Mac

-Add the printer in system preferences...

  • power of ink use officjet 4630

My habit was turning my equipment off when it is not in use.  I understand that for some inkjet printers, it wastes ink.  Is it so for the 4630?  In addition, there was a reference on another view that extinguish by interupting power rather than using the switch on the front panel can be detrimental to the printer.  Is this true for the 4630?

    Thank you.

Yes in both cases.  The printer must be plugged into a socket turned on at all times and only the printer power switch must be used to power the printer off.

If an external switch is used the print head cannot be properly capped, allowing the print head block.  With the help of an external switch will also cause printing to lose track of time since the last print job.  This will make a more aggressive start procedure when the printer power is then applied.

  • Photosmart 5515 does no black ink print

Not printing in black at all.  Full set of new ink cartridges.  Warranty is just exhausted.

    I've tried everything here

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/c03425035

like everyone else I had read had this problem. No change.

    Any help out there?

    Seem to have solved.

It was a clogged print head - probably due to the ink drying during the period of non-use.  Cleaning process all waste ink without much effect.

Print head is not removable so manual cleaning is tricky.  Just wipe the filter did nothing.

At the end of the day, slipped a piece of kitchen under the print head roll (it has a Groove where it will adapt and you roll the head top) folded.

Removed the rubber around the offending ink filter washer.

Slipped a long and tight fitting top pen top instead (felt tip seems best - but open at both ends, one tube, is what it takes, and it must be a tight fit).

Refill pen with mouthwash (appropriate cleaning fluids are available, alcohol is the key it seems).

Breath down on pen force the liquid through the printhead on paper towel.

Printed later, but took a few prints to become completely clear.  It is time that clean the printhead automated may operate.

  • PSC 1510 guard printing alignment pages, won't allow me to use scanner

My 1510 keeps printing alignment pages (or gives me an error of paper output).  I do not use the color cartridge and haven't for a long time.

Now when I try to scan a document it says that something is in control of the scanner (probably the alignment process).   I put the fininsh the alignment process page, but he just keeps trying to print an alignment page.

How can I disable alignment 'characteristic '?  I'm starting to think that the only purpose of this feature is wasting ink HP.

    Hello

The alignment process designed to ensure optimal print quality, black ink and color are necessary to complete the alignment process, otherwise it runs aground.

I'm afraid that the model does not circumvent the alignment process, thus getting a new color cartridge essencial in order to complete the alignment process, otherwise the printer will keep pritnign the sheet at the start of the device.

You can try to print an alignment sheet and press several times the button cancel during the pritning of the page, I think that it can cancel the process then and allow you to scan, however the same will have to be repeated after the printer is restarted.

  • HP officejet pro 8500 a909g: print heads

my printer has stopped printing in black ink, even if the ink level is more than half full.  Ran "clean print head" and he ran forever.  Still not printing or copying in black.  color copy.

    Hey @ahornplayer58,

I would like to help you to solve the problem that you experience when you try to print in black ink of your HP Officejet Pro 8500 Wireless all-in-One Printer today. Thank you for troubleshooting that you have completed before reaching out for support, including. Right now, it sounds like you have a defective black cartridge or defective printhead. In this model of printer, you have two print heads. There is a printhead magenta and cyan and a black and Yellow Printhead. If a replacement black cartridge fails to resolve your printing delivers a replacement black and Yellow Printhead may be necessary. Saying that, there are still a few troubleshooting steps that we can try before replacing anything. Can I please you follow the steps below.

To start, please click here to access the troubleshooting steps. Once the support document opens please run through the solutionand four Solution. This includes all sub-steps under the two alternatives. A print head cleaning may be run up to three times to resolution. If you make three Printhead clean nothing helps, please do not proceed with any additional cleaning ink is used to clean the print head system, and you will just be wasting ink if you want to go forward.

If the problem persists, the next step listed would be to replace the black and Yellow Printhead. However, it is never a bad idea to first try a black cartridge.

Please reply to this message with the result of your troubleshooting. Good luck!

  • All-in-one Photosmart HP 3310: black printing in odd rows

    Hello

I have had this printer for almost 6 years and never had a problem with it until this last week. My impression started out as below:

As you can see, the colors are fine, but black seems to be coming out in lines. As the black cartridge was almost empty, I replaced it and received the same impression. I replaced that one (just in case the cartridge was defective) and received the same impression.

My printer is out of warranty; I tried to clean the print heads and align the printer several times over the last week and nothing has changed. In fact, every print I do has the same meaning (even thickness, same color, same type [dotted, lined, etc.], in the exact same places every time, which is interesting.

I tried the reset of the printer (pulling on the power cord for 15 to 30 seconds, and then reconnecting), alignment and clean the print heads in the printer menu, and then on the menu in my Mac, and I tried to get the number online (here and here), but came to nothing.

I'm currently located in the United States, in Arizona. I understand that it is an older printer, so I may end up having to replace, but I was hoping someone might have a suggestion.

    Thank you

    ~ Leslie

    Hey @TheLastDuchess,

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support!

I understand that you are having problems of black print quality when printing HP Photosmart 3310 all-in-one printer. I first want to thank you for all the details you provide me in your message. I see you've already replaced the black cartridge twice, cleaned and aligned the print head several times and reset the printer nothing helps. Unfortunately at this time, it sounds like you have a defective system of the print head. The printhead in the unit model is not replaceable part. It reads the cartridges and ink to go on the control document. If this part in case of failure to replace the entire unit would be necessary. According to all the steps that you have already tried, at the moment, you have exhausted the troubleshooting steps. I don't want you to run one more cleans away from your printhead system because it uses no ink in order to rinse the ink for cleaning system. The rule is generally, if cleans 2-3 make no difference, not to go forward with more clean as you will just waste ink.

At that time, I suggest that you contact our Technical Support by phone team to explore additional options.

  • Printer keeps printing a test page after each print document

I have a HP Deskjet 970Cse on Windows XP Professional with Service Pack 3.

About 2 weeks ago, I was receiving ambiguous messages on the ink levels, for example, saying a cartridge was ink when it was not, and after checking and replacement he told me the other cartridge was bad or empty.

I replaced the cartridges with new and error messages went. To test others, I replaced the previous game and they worked well without empty messages.

Then one day my computer tells me it was installing the HP printer and now I got 2 copies.

I uninstalled the drivers and printers and downloaded the last at HP (the same I was already running years) and now it prints a test page after each print job that is wasting ink. By the print job, I mean it prints a test page once all the documents in the print queue. On the rare occasions that it will print a test between each document but this page is not the standard.

    Any help would be appreciated.

Andy, honestly with a printer is 10 years and more, the problem you are experiencing may deal with the age of the device more than anything else. You could try hard-reset of the printer (leaving it unplugged for 20 seconds), but if what you said about the button is true - it is possible that the Board of Directors is signaling the machine to print a test page after each draw by a malfunction at the hardware level.

In this case, maybe it's time for a new printer. If you need help to choose one, there are many solids Deskjets currently on the market from HP that would be a wonderful substitute for this machine.

Let me know and have a great day!

  • Scan without cleaning cartridge

I use a HP Photosmart 6510 and do a lot of scanning, but prefer not to waste ink everytime I turn on the printer.  Any ideas?

    Hello

Until there is a scanner, a printer is therefore inks during the warm-up. A single scanner requires no inks. My test says it can scan with empty ink cartridges, BUT the cartridgs has to be there.

    Hope it makes sense.

  • Want 5530: Printer calibrates whenever I turn it on

I bought a second 5530 want all-in-one printer.  No problem with the first, but it has begun to insist that I have to calibrate whenever I turn it on.  It wastes ink, paper and time.  Whenever I turn it on, the printer displays a message that I have installed a "genuine HP recycled cartridge.  The cartridges that I bought were not labeled as recycled and I only shop at Amazon or Office Max.  Even if they are recycled, the machine recognizes them as 'genuine HP cartridges', so that they are not inferior counterfeits.   I am particularly upset by HP support never return my emails on this topic.  I always bought HP printers, despite the increase in the cost of their ink, because they worked well and were easy to use.  However, I'm about to change my mind.  If a printer stops working correctly, I would expect a direct response from the manufacturer.

    Hey @betrom,

Please get back to me regarding this issue of calibration. Because your HP Envy acted like you have been putting in place for the first time and jumped from the alignment page there is a chance that there is debris in the printer or a programming problem occuring in your printer. Can I please you follow the steps below to check the hardware on your computer.

Step 1: Check paper path and rolls:

Can I have it please click here. Once the support document opens, please run through the Solution one and two. Once you confirm that the paper path is free of conditioning or debris, and clean rollers can I please have you go to the next step.

    Step 2: Verification of cartridges:

Then please click here. Once this support document opens please run through the Solution of two, three, solution and six Solution. This includes all sub-steps under three listed Solutions. If the alignment problem persists after you complete the steps proceed to the last step.

    Step 3: update Firmware:

The Firmware is programming into your printer. Essentially, the programming is the "brain" of your printer and control that made the printer and how the printer it. If there is a corruption in your printers programming it can cause performance problems. So, I will make sure that your HP Envy runs the latest version of the Firmware. Please click here for the steps on how to update the Firmware of the front of your printer printers. Your printer must be in a ready state for update the Firmware. Once the update completed successfully, please test your machine to see if the alignment problem is now resolved.

Please reply to this message with the result of your troubleshooting. Good luck!

  • shows how to add a different image for my Christmas labels to halfway down the sheet

I try to print my labels for Christmas. I use avery labels size 2 "x 4" and all of a sudden to halfway through the print job, another image is printed on the background of the sheet of labels.

I have had it before and may not know how to solve this problem. I double checked to make sure that this additional picture is not in the bed of the scanner. How can I get rid of this unwanted addition of my labels. I also tried a different word document that has a different picture of Christmas in all sections of 10 labels and sometimes it prints correctly and sometimes he adds this piture inside cookie half as well.

Why is my printer done? I'm wasting ink and these labels as well.

Thanks for any help you can give me. I am including an analysis of the sheet of labels so you can see what I mean.

    GuideMe

Welcome to the Community Forum of HP.

It could be your template file which is trashed, in other words, your label template document itself could be the problem.  You need to maybe start over, in other words, create a new document from model to model appropriate size label size label.

The latest version of the Avery software, which let you can indeed use, moved in recent versions of Word.  Most of each model you can buy is installed within the software:

    Avery Wizard for Microsoft® Office

The document that results from (.doc / .docx) can be made to be put a blank label, to which you could add - manually, your little Clip Art Santas.  In fact, if you have created a blank label template (by clicking through the process of 'create' model), you can add a Clip Art or a different photo on each label.

If for some reason, the software will not be installed in your Version of Office Word, I believe you can use the software online and then print the labels on your printer.

    =========================================================================

You could also simply any reboots:

Router, computer, printer - just restart everything and see if the "strangeness" clears.  It is less likely to help, but it really depends on where the problem lies.  The question might be a little communication problem between the printer and the queue of work - the printer needs to process the job once it is taken from the queue; Maybe is not read the file correctly.

Click on the Thumbs - Up Kudos to show that you appreciate the help.

Click on accept as Solution when the answer provides a fix or a workaround!

    Hello Michael,

Because of the way ePrint settings are configured to prevent spam and junk e-mail wasting ink and paper, when you send an e-mail message to your e-mail of ePrint printers talk to you may include all additional e-mail addresses in the to, CC, or BCC fields. This is similar to anti-spam and ePrint will not print your message if you have several listed email addresses to send. You can have that a single e-mail address in the field, to the ePrint for the printer address print correctly your e-mail with ePrint.
