Webcam of gateway does not!

Hello, my front door NV57H102ubuilt in webcam stopped working one day, and I did as said gateway:

"In the Device Manager, click on the plus sign (+) next to imaging devices.
I did as they said, but the webcam was not found in the Device Manager. When I use VMWare Player, it does not, although it used to be.
Help!
Thank you!

Hello Bob,

Here's my guess. Gateway is 1) I forgot to plug / has a faulty connection in the internal webcam, or 2) they have a generic problem with the webcam, and the only way they have to "fix" is to replace the internal unit. I arrive at this conclusion, based on the number of posters to their site and having the same experience you have, with no "official" resolution

In both cases, it is a hardware problem which only gateway may set, and thus why they want you to ship it to them. Considering how inexpensive even high quality Webcams are, I think you're better off with an external Webcam. As for the Mac vs. PC battle, each to their own, but as I can't afford to play with a Mac, I'll stick with my occasionally (temporarily) broken PC.

Kind regards

BearPup

  • USB 20.0 M pixels 6 LED Webcam Web Cam does not?

Recently I bought this webcam for my laptop, 20.0 MEGA pixel 6 LED Webcam Web Cam camera computer. In fact, I bought two one for me and one for my son and have not been able to get them to function. When I plug the usb and microphone cable, it tells that the new hardware has been found and it is to install the software of the new device. It complements and says device is ready to be used, but the camera does not work. The microphone works without problem, I tried reistalling the device a couple of times and in different ways without success. I tried unisnstalling, resettlement, adding hardware, etc.
The camera stands out in Device Manager as a camera USB 2.0 in imaging equipment and records of cable into the USB as a Composite USB.
Does anyone have ideas to make the camera work? I would really appreciate it!
    Running Windows Vista thanks

    Thank you Robert Charney

    Hello

If the webcam appears in Device Manager, idon't think that you will need special software for the cable.

You could try the cam with Live Messenger.

If it fails, you can get an error message more information.

    Concerning

    Hello

My point is, is your self-promotion set to the room. I mean what

your user role when a user enters in the room (which is not host), it is 10

or 50. If its 10 i.e. spectator, while it cannot use his own cam etc. You

need to take a look at the newspapers when a user types and if its 10 and

you want to give these permissions, turn on self-promotion of the

devconsole for the room to do his role 50 which is editor.

I just now downloaded 2.5.1 AIR and created a new project with your

  • VAIO Webcam (VGP-VCC6) does not not after Win7 upgrade

My laptop was recently changed from Vista to Windows 7 Ultimate. The only problem I've had is with the stupid webcam. I downloaded all the drivers for it and the webcam appears under 'devices & Printers' as "Composite USB device", but NOT in the Device Manager. How is this possible and what I am doing wrong? Not only that, but when I go into the Device Manager list of records continues expansion and contraction on its own (as he continues to try to download information).
I also downloaded the ArcSoft WebCam companion 2 and when open it says "a webcam was not found or is not installed properly. Camera is in use by another application or not connected. »
    How can I solve this?

    The drivers I downloaded:
Original - Sony Visual Communication Camera VGP-VCC6 Driver
Original - Texas Instruments PCIxx12 Integrated FlashMedia Controller
Original - the Sony Firmware Extension parser.

your question is the USB driver, if it is an upgrade and not a clean install, point the pilot to the folder Windows, System32, INF, the next time he's looking for a new device. If she is not there at all unfortunately the only way to reinstall the USB controller is the recovery of Original OS (format back to Vista premium), then the return upgrade to Ultimate never completely uninstall the USB drivers. uninstall the RH only and restarted, it will rebuild if you ever have problems with USB driver. never remove the controller.

  • Re: Integrated webcam Satellite P300 does not: locked by another application

    Hello

The webcam integrated on my Satellite P300-h-13 no longer works. When I try to use it I get the following message: locked by another application. The only program on my computer that uses a webcam is MSN Messenger, Skype Yes or as some programs are not the problem.

I saw some other threads on this subject, but those ppl had another laptop. And because I don't know that much about computers that I wasn't sure if I had to do the same steps to make repair.

    Could someone help me please?

    Thanks in advance!

    Hello

This issue is known to me because I also had, and it was solved by installing Vista SP1!

You can resolve this follow these steps:

Download driver Chicony Webcam drivers from Toshiba Web site section was updated. If you can't find an updated driver, try a new driver of another model of Toshiba.

Install Service Pack 1 for Vista, or Vista Hotfix KB934374: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/934374 (KB934374 is included in SP1) or the full SP1

Update your e-mail software (MSN/Yahoo Messenger, etc...)

If you have another program that can use the webcam (e.g. Skype), make sure that they are completely closed and not, sitting in the system tray.

Try closing the bar Assistant camera on the left side of the office.

To stop the Camera Assistant software from running at startup, run Regedit and delete HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run "Camera Assistant Software".

    Good bye

  • T560 - USB Skyris 445 m external webcam installed but does not

I don't know what it is... but the camera refuses to work exclusively on the Lenovo T560. Yet, it works on ALL the other machines I tested (including other laptops and other machines running windows 10)

It's the camera, what I'm trying to troubleshoot:
    http://www.Celestron.com/browse-shop/astronomy/Astroimaging-cameras/skyris-445m

I install this camera using the driver from the manufacturer (I tried 2 of them) and it seems to install properly (in the Device Manager, everything is green AND the full name of the camera is set correctly).

Yet, when I try to use the camera by using the software provided by the manufacturer, I get "error, not enough band width and the camera is in use by another program."

I tested all drivers. I tried all USB ports. I tried deleting all the software that can potentially interfere with the laptop.

Hell, I even re-installed Windows 10 FROM SCRATCH just to test it... and yet, he refuses to work so that all other machines seems to work very well with it. The kicker is that it is not the first device which refuses to the laptop.

So, what's the problem? Why the laptop is so that all the other machines I've tested perfectly functioning problems with external USB cameras.

I'm panicking here because I bought this laptop EXCLUSIVELY to use this device.

    It solved!

It turns out that the update of Microsoft Windows 10 birthday broke millions of external webcams in the world. (Good job Microsoft, you owe me a good 18 hours)

Had to go back to the previous update (which I was lucky enough to be able to do... because I received the laptop after the update has been applied).

The previous version of Windows is fixed at all. (Windows 2015 Nov 10 to build 1511).

I'll make a few suggestions here based on an upgrade in situ at W8 and not a pure install _ a clean installation being a total erase of the disk to install W8, rather then by installing W8 while there is W7 disk.

Go to programs and features and uninstall your software Cyberlink you Cam.

Download CCleaner and run a registry cleaner as many times as necessary until it finds nothing and reboot.

Run again and if it still finds things, repeat the process until it finds nothing.

    http://www.filehippo.com/download_ccleaner/

Do not use any other registry cleaner.

Install your YouCam software and restart.

    http://h10025.www1.HP.com/ewfrf/WC/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=ob-104747-1&CC=US&DLC=en&LC=en&os=4063&Product=5076816&sw_lang=

Save the file on the desktop and install it from there, not in a temporary folder.

    Restart once it's done.

If this doean can't work, try to do a clean install, assuming that it was an upgrade.

If you need a web cam to malfunction, return to W7.

Did you create your recovery media or the recovery still on the hard drive partition and it is healthy?

Another thing to try is to upgrade the BIOS, if you did not. However, there is nothing in the updates which improves the functionality of the web cam in W8.

If you do not want to update the BIOS, post again for the detailed instructions, it do not try your self.

  • Computer laptop Gateway does not load windows Vista, reads configuration data read error: System.

OK a friend knows me to fix his laptop. Apparently what she was experiencing major problems, so he erased the disc and tried to reinstall Win Vista from disk. Will not work. I can get to where you can choose a partition to install the operating system to, and it says: Windows cannot find a system volume that meets its criteria for installation. My friend says he has just tried, form disassemble the computer an audit of all the parties to try ALL the different options during installation, as well as the options for the BIOS. Any ideas people? Here are the approximate specifications, because the owner has not been able to get the computer working for awhile:
4 GHz, 4 GB RAM computer Gateway laptop, 2006, Phoenix TrustedCore, and a string of other interesting info that appears on the first screen of the error:

I'm not very tech savy and I'm not the owner of the PC, so I don't know all about it so go easy on me :).

If your friend tried to reinstall Windows by using the defined gateway recovery disc (and this is the best way) and this recovery fails, the laptop has hardware problems. Disassemble laptops is a fickle business at best and while it sounds like the hardware problems started before your friend did this, it may have put the nails in the coffin of the laptop to take apart.

At this point, you can try troubleshooting hardware or your friend can take the laptop to a competent professional (not a type of BigComputerStore/GeekSquad of the place). However, if the laptop has had hard use, your friend must remember that a cell of 4 years with major hardware problems probably won't be cost effective to repair.

If the webcam is not working with two different operating systems and you have loaded the drivers, I would think it is a physical problem with the connection to the webcam for the small circuit board inside the screen.
