Webcam problem

I'm new to Skype and have just bought a Logitech Web camera. Although the webcam works, Skype will not recognize it. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated - thanks!

If the currently installed version of Skype is not 6.21 (in Skype click Help-> on Skype), then make sure that the latest version 6.21 is installed.

If that still does not help, then uninstall the CyberLink YouCam software from your computer.

  • Resolution of the webcam problems

    Hi all

I finally decided me coming here on a resolution of the webcam problem: since Skype updates that followed the 6.2 version, I can't simply a resolution on my bodily proportions. In other words, I think that Skype automatically assigns to a resolution of 1280 x 720, which makes my head like a balloon look hot air (not really convenient for job interviews, I must say). And Skype seem not to care about changes in resolution, as I do in the file "config.xml". Any idea to solve this problem? I really want to be myself again.

Thank you very much in advance!

  • Integrated with HP Pavilion dv9715nr notebook PC webcam problem

    Hello everyone,

I hope someone can help point me in the direction of a fix of webcam for the problem that my laptop has developed. I spent the last few days browsing the internet looking for a solution to what seems to be a widespread problem, but with no satisfactory solution.

    The problem:

A few days ago my integrated webcam works with Youcam and other applications of webcam with the message 'not found webcam' or 'Please turn on integrated webcam. Dutifully, I went to the device manage and felt that there was no imaging device listed.

    Related problems:

In addition to this problem, I sometimes get an installation of an unknown USB device. This device is, I'm sure that the webcam, but try as I might I cannot point to the drivers of webcam or update its driver to something other than the best driver that is already.

    What I've tried so far:

-Reinstall the drivers from the HP website. None of the many different types of pilot managed to bring the webcam life or showing in imaging devices.

-Follow-up guide HP for the problems of webcam that ends up pushing me towards contacting HP help desk. Which, I imagine, will cost you a lot more money than the I have no money.

-Uninstall all usb devices and reinstall using scan for the hardware changes. This has, once or twice, brought back the web cam and imaging device and worked for a while. However, before I can update its drivers computer freezes and turns itself off.

    -Flashed the bios. No change.

-Downloaded the drivers from various other cam as suggested in the huge amount of bugs, there are online for this problem. Unfortunately, none of them worked.

-Recovery plant recovery drive. The webcam is still missing in the imagery of the Device Manager section.

    Technical specifications:

    HP Pavilion dv9715nr notebook PC

    Vista 32 bit premium - service Pack2

AMD Turion Mobile Technology TL-60 2.00 GHz Dual Processor

    1.94 GB OF RAM

    BIOS F.33, 3.09 M

Webcam integrated into the lid of the laptop.

    Demand:

If I understand the large amount of online discussion on what is a common problem and I hope that, among the pages and pages of bugs I looked, I missed a fix somewhere.

If you have had and solved the problem, or if you have an idea how to sort it out, I'd love to hear from you.

    Hello again,

First of all, let me thank the support forum HP for all their advice and now down to business.

After a week of problems webcam and extensive research on the internet for a fix for the problem that I finally managed to get my webcam - however, I'm not sure how I did it.

Below is a step by step guide.

Now, I know that's not exactly the most empirical of bugs, however, it worked for me. From what I remember last night, the key points seem to be the following. If I insist I was very drunk and I tried almost every difficulty in the two websites above. (The bullet points below are not related)

    • Installation of a very old version of Quickplay.
    • Install the drivers from the DPinstall32.exe.
    • Get a webcam driver update Ricoh are displayed in windows update.
    • Go to Panel configuration/program and using change to the webcam repair and modification.
    • Play with the Services Windows Image acquisition.

There was, no doubt, many other things I've done and, quite frankly, I am surprised that I did not kill my laptop I did most of them at the same time. However, the webcam is back and running so I recommend drunken stupidity and perseverance as key elements of this fix.

Finally, somewhere in the two threads I linked will be your fix. There are a lot of different patches so keep and you can do with one of them.

Good luck. Mines a pint of the black stuff.

Edit - Add the WIA service.

    Hello

Please help me, I have a problem of blur using the webcam with Skype, and even with the camera utility windows 8.1, videos on Skype and photos taken by webcam are blurry (sorry for my English!).
I don't think that there is a plastic sticker on webcam.

    I'm on Windows 8.1 - 64.

    Thank you;

It is really strange. Have you noticed from the first day of use?
Make sure that the cam is not covered by a sticker and it must be clean.

Problem is that camera is controlled by the Microsoft utility, and there is not some additional options that we had on the old version of the application from Toshiba web camera.

  • Equium P300-16 t - Chicony Webcam problem with Vista

I have an Equium P300-16 t and when it is connected to the broadband router, everything is ok!

However, when the use of the laptop wireless and with the help of MSN Messenger (with webcam running) it keeps freezing upwards and after a short period of time will continue to work, then keep freeze again--almost as the buffer continues in full and it is having to refresh

There is a mention of this on the support pages that mentions KB934374 which is supposed to be part of the MS Vista SP1
I installed this SP, but Ko in question is not part of it, and I can't seem to locate an individual download for this KB

    http://UK.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/cgi-bin/ToshibaCSG/FAQ.jsp?service=UK&from=faq_selection&CFID=Windows Vista & FID plus TIU0000003b66

Any ideas anyone (other then throwing the phone against a wall and stating that it was an accident!)

    Hello

After searching on Google for this KB, I found the 'hotfixshare' site, which includes this fix. The only thing is that you have to register on their forum, but it's the only thing...

Later, you can download this hotfix and check if it works. I would say also allows you to download the latest webcam driver for your machine on the European driver download sites because they could possibly solve your problem.

    Welcome them

  • Satellite A210 - 15K: webcam problem - graphics make it fail

    Hello

I have a toshiba A210 - 15K, but I seem to have a problem with the integrated webcam for laptops. When I turn it on I can use it without problems all the time, but sometimes after a few hours of no use when I try to use it again it gives me the following message: "chart make fail" and it runs at all.

In order to make it work again I have to restart the computer, and even if I restart sometimes it does not start.

Someone knows how to fix this?

    Thank you

I noticed the same thing on my Satellite P200. After reboot, everything works again. I don't use a webcam so often and it is not so important to me, but you can try to stop (exit) web cam software and start it again.

Maybe this will help. Can you please send the result? Right now my cam works well and I can't wait to check this option only.

Otherwise you may chck your USB drivers in the Device Manager in Control Panel.

  • Qosmio X 500 - 11 d: Fingerprint reader question and webcam problem

    Hello

I am the owner of a portable X 500 - 11 d of Qosmio computer and I ran into a few problems these last time:

    1. After installing windows 7, the fingerprint reader has worked flawlessly for about a month, but now the login screen of windows 7 not poster not the option to connect with the fingerprint and when I try to start the utility of fingerprint toshiba it gives an error could not connect to the sensor.

The strange thing is that I can't find the finger print sensos under Device Manager. Windows just does not detect it. I tried to reinstall the drivers and software, I've updated the bios but nothing works.

    2. the camera on the laptop, it is installed properly (the said driver is ok) but when you use the image is all black. I should mention that the blue light turns on when you use the camera.

I tried to find a solution to the fingerprint issue o the forum here, but nothing has been using, hope someone knows how to solve.

    > The strange thing is under the Device Manager I don't think the impression sensos finger; Windows just does not detect it. I tried to reinstall the drivers and software, I've updated the bios but nothing works.

    Well, I m sure this laptop model X 500 - 11 d supports the fingerprint sensor.
Please set the BIOS to default settings and check if there is a BIOS setting that can enable or disable the fingerprint sensor.

    > 2. The camera on the laptop, it is installed properly (the said driver is ok) but when you use the image is all black. I should mention that the blue light turns on when you use the camera.

I had the same problem. In my case, that the room was too dark and the cam didn't work well. I had covered the lens of the webcam and after that I withdrew my finger from the webcam, webcam worked again. Notes; the room was very bright and the probe could catch the environment. I don't know if this could help Mr. maybe, you need to uninstall the webcam software before you try this procedure

I restarted my computer several times, but I have no idea how to restart my camera. When I click on camera assistant software he used still open!

    Is it Vista or XP?

Remove the webcam software then download and install the latest driver/software webcam on the Toshiba site.

If you have Vista, update Vista Service Pack 1

If you have Skype or Messenger running, close them and try to re-run camera help. Sometimes these programs can lock the camera.

  • of HP Pavilion laptop webcam problem

I have a hp Pavilion dx6665ca with Vista and all the service packs and updates of the firmware & bios.  In recent months, every time I have open or close the lid, I get a notification on the toolbar by saying: "unrecognized usb device".  It looks like this:

    http://imgur.com/0eOrQ.jpg

It was annoying, but nothing seemed to be irrelevant.  I also have a problem where the left side of the screen will sometimes flicker and go almost black, then I thought it might have something to do with it, but it was intermittent.

I recently tried to use the webcam and it was not detected by the software. After you have checked in Device Manager, I realized it wasn't showing up there under imaging devices, as it should:

    http://imgur.com/Z9j86.jpg

I have the impression that the "unknown device" under the controllers USB is the camera, but Vista does not know what it is.

I tried the new firmware, software, uninstall and reinstall all usb devices and drivers, nothing seems to work.  I always get the message "unrecognized usb device" if every time I open or close the lid.

If the Device Manager it detects not after all these attempts, am I experiencing a hardware problem?  My warranty expired 2 months ago is there no matter what chance hp will fix this issue, I see so many posts and it seems to be a widespread hardware issue?

    Any contribution is appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.

Hey guys, I saw some people posted again so I thought I would add a few things...

Since my last post, I replaced my inverter display twice and my Webcam once. I think that following these two parties do not and one of them more than once, that we can logically deduce that there is a problem with the amount of energy supplied to these two devices.  They are powered by the same connector and I bet that these hardware components fail after that.  Even now, on my THIRD Board(original +2) Inverter it is still flickering. Short of replacing the machine, you can replace these components.

You have two choices: pay to have someone else fix it or do it yourself.  If your idea of a screwdriver is a butterknife, pay someone else.  If you are confident, smart and willing to learn, you can do it yourself.  You could ruin your machine if you screw up, but I promise you that's not so difficult.  For model Pavilion dx6000, look on ebay for the following:

Camera Module-part # 446486-001. A simple installation with the right tools. Do not break the legs that hold the bezel (frame) plastic around the screen or the lid does not close.

Display the converter DC-AC-part # 431391-001. This one is a little harder to install, but you have to be patient and VERY CAREFUL NOT to BREAK THE TAPE.

Here is the link for the manual.  The title is different by model number, but the procedure is the same, including the reference numbers:

    http://h20000.www2.HP.com/BC/docs/support/SupportManual/c01178385/c01178385.PDF

To replace the camera module, go to page 37.

For Inverter Board replacement, go to page 39.

    I hope this helps.
