• Java blocks webos doctor

  I have a HP touchpad wi - fi only.  I tried to install webos doctor my camera has been more grumpy and not to open some websites and mime files.  I had the doctor partially installed and Java blocked the completion by saying that the certificate was expired.  When I activated the box to take the risk, Java has always blocked installation by saying that it was dangerous to install the program.

  How do I "Refresh" my Tablet? I'm sure you know, HP no longer supports the Tablet :-(   Thank you very much.

  How to doctor an HP TouchPad (reflash the ROM)
  
  On your Touchpad, make sure you have:
  
  USB cable. The battery is charged at least 30%.
  
  Computer:
  
  Windows 7, Windows XP, Windows Vista available USB (not a hub or a secondary port). Java 1.5 or later version is installed. If you are not sure what version of Java, you have, or even if Java is installed, go to www.java.com and click the Do I have Java? link to install the latest version of Java. 210MB of storage space. Connection to the Internet.
  
  Various information:
  
  The update process will take about 15 minutes. During this process, your device will be unavailable for use.
  
  Download webOS Doctor
  
  Download webOS Doctor on your desktop. If you have a profile of webOS, get it from http://ws.hpwebos.com/webosdoctor/sorry.htm
  
  If not, check the webOS Internals page: http://www.webos-internals.org/wiki/Webos_Doctor_Versions
  
  Prepare your TouchPad update
  
  Hold the Power button for a few seconds until a menu. Press on stop to turn your unit off completely.

  Double-click on the downloaded file to start webOS Doctor. Follow the directions on the screen until you are prompted to connect your device. Select the language that you have selected on your device and click Next. Confirm your choice of language. Click on accept to accept the terms of use. Click Next. webOS Doctor checks your system. BE PATIENT! I saw this part take a few minutes to complete. After webOS doctor ends your control system, you will be asked to connect your device.
  
  Connect your device and the finishing of the webOS Doctor update
  
  Connect your device to your computer via the USB cable. You must connect your device directly to your computer, not through a USB hub or other intermediate device. Now the tricky part. Hold the Volume Up button on the device and insert the USB cable. After the USB great symbol appears on the screen, release the Volume button upward. If you see the HP logo instead of the large USB symbol, can the Volume Up button is released prematurely. If this happens, wait for your device to start, stop your device and then repeat step 2. Windows identifies your component and may offer to install two different drivers. When asked to install the drivers of OMAP, choose no not at the moment. When asked to install the drivers for Palm Novacom (liner), select Yes, and then leave the drivers to install. This can take some time. Once the drivers have been installed, the next button will become available in webOS Doctor. Click Next. Do not disconnect your device from the computer during the update process. When the reset is complete screen, click done. Wait a few minutes for your device to reset. You're done!

• webOS Doctor now I can't sign in Palm profile

  Hi all

  So, after running webOS 1.4.5 doctor I can not connect to my profile Palm and retrieve my info.

  Says "Sign in failed" due to "low network coverage", but it has a 3 G connection.

  I know that I have good credentials. I tried to restart it. I have reflashed with webOS doctor several times. I tried AT & T calling and they were, let's say, less than useful. I sent the Support HP and no response.

  Any ideas?

  Good news! It sets obtained. Here's how:

  My prepaid plan included no data as I thought that this was the case. Previously, I had thought that she would simply charge to my account (since that's what says my plan), but I actually had to buy a package of separate data to make it work. Apparently the same thing was done when my phone was initially setup as the Pixi is not really designed to respond to the plans of PP.

• webOS Doctor 1.3.1 Bricked my pre

  I was trying to run webOS Doctor 1.3.1 to try and fix some desquamation saw my email with email sending (receiving e-mail was very good). My battery was 90 + % and I moved some of my pictures on my phone in case I lost them. I went through all the webOS doc invite you to the point where he says that it was under way, and then I went to sleep for a bit, because I knew it would be some time before it was done.   I was able to put my phone back on by removing the USB cable and just by holding down the power button. Weird.

  Hello!

  The WebOS doctor reinstall the current version of the webOS then:

  1. He will return EVERYTHING back to the factory

  2. It reinstalls the latest version of webOS in order to reapply updates is not necessary as long as until your recovering from Palm.com/ROM

  3 phone remains active so no reactivation is required.

  4. as a full or partial deletion, you need to resign to your Palm profile that brings back your data/apps/some settings.

  Due note it will scan the section USB drive too so don't forget that backup if possible.  Going to Palm.com/ROM for webOS doctor will give the latest version of webOS.

  No, the file is a java executable file.  Personally, I would take the risk for an hour to revive a dead device...

• Factory reset now does not start, doctor No. WebOS available in the profile

  I did a factory reset on my HP Touchpad to give to my son for Christmas. However, I boot the system then select English, then select the country from the United States and the system hangs its been doing this for a few days. I then shut down the system he turned back and did the same thing again and again. I go to my www.palm.com , and log and the WebOS doctor does not appear on my profile. Do anyone know how to install the software on the TouchPad, so I can get that operational back?

  These are .jar files.  Here are the executable java files.  Some browsers have been known to change the .zip extension by mistake.  Try using another browser to d/l the file.

  Go to www.java.com and let the Web site to check your installation to the latest version.

  Make sure that you have the latest java installation on your PC.

  Do you have the great symbol USB before continuing?  You will need the novacom drivers.

  If the process fails, rinse and repeat!  Restart all (you've tried long keys both power and depressed Center on the TP for > 15 seconds, right?), and then try again.

  Good luck, and be patient - I saw the doctor a break of 10-15 minutes before you continue...

  webOS Doctor wiped the touchpad. So then I could installed androis without any problem

  I own a Pre3 and I did the app update catalog certificate on time last year.

  I can install third-party applications via Preware without problems. I went through the procedure of doctor three times, twice I did a full cleaning before. I also tried the trick date to avoid the old certificate problem despite the fact that he said that the new cert would survive a reset of the device. Nothing helped.

• A loop of touchpad webOS

  My touchpad resets everytime I try to open any application other than the calendar. Hard starting does not seem to help. The only other things I noticed is that every 5 seconds the double Home button flashes and there is a cerficate of google security not trust warning. Any suggestions?

  If I understand what you're saying; I need to have the version of webOS Doctor for WebOS version 3.0.2 to re - install 3.0.2... is of WebOS that correct?

  If the answer is "Yes"; What version of webOS Doctor is necessary for WebOS 3.0.2 and where I can get it?

  Nevermind, I found the answer in another post. You can roll back and there is a way to disable the automatic updates of operating system.

• Lost Screenlock pine (Webos doc has failed)

  I have not used my touchpad for mths... yesterday, after I take took my touchpad fees it and try to use my touchpad, I discovered that I don't remember the PIN to the lockscreen.

  I went online and google for help and found something called WebOS Doctor. But I m cannot be used, the webos doctor can't detect my touchpad when I connect it to my office. (maybe because it to connect to my office in charge mode)

  I tried to reboot or shutdown my touchpad using the power button, but failed too. I saw a menu to stop but the screen lock me disable to select one of the options...

  I need serious help here... I have to empty my touchpad to helpless until I can fix this?

  Oh dear.  WebOS Doctor says that it has been disconnected?

  No doubt ty to return yout TouchPad in USB mode and try again webOS Doctor.  Sometimes it just fails.  WebOS Doctor failed once on my TouchPad, so I tried again and it went smoothly.  Who knows why...

• Registration of video webOS 1.4 issues!

  OK, so I've posted in both precentral and have not YET received a solution.

  So I save a video to about 37 seconds. Fine.

  I then record a video of 2 minutes. Works great, looks good.

  I THEN record another video, this one about 4 minutes. IM done recording, look at the video and it says its only 1 minute and 37 seconds. What the F?

  in any case, the problem IS NOT stop there. I try to play the video and it looks like its about to start playing, but rest with wheel loading on the screen ALL the time and does not play the video.

  I can't play videos from this point in the video library (including video Palm puts on the phone!) They all are still early and never "loading".

  I restart the phone and it works then once again, UNTIL I continue to record longer than 1 minute long videos. The problem persists and persists.

  I tried everything, minues the webOS doctor, and this is a step that I'm not willing to take because of the problems I've heard ppl have had with it.

  Someone out there, tell me you're having the same problem... I want palm to solve this problem, it is obviously a software problem
