A loop of touchpad webOS

My touchpad resets everytime I try to open any application other than the calendar. Hard starting does not seem to help. The only other things I noticed is that every 5 seconds the double Home button flashes and there is a cerficate of google security not trust warning. Any suggestions?

Have you installed the update from the App catalog successfully?

The device is running the latest version of webOS?  (3.05)

Have you tried running the webOS Doctor reflash the unit?  If this is not the case, here are the instructions:

How to doctor an HP TouchPad (reflash the ROM)

On your Touchpad, make sure you have:

USB cable. The battery is charged at least 30%.

Computer:

Windows 7, Windows XP, Windows Vista available USB (not a hub or a secondary port). Java 1.5 or later version is installed. If you are not sure what version of Java, you have, or even if Java is installed, go to www.java.com and click the Do I have Java? link to install the latest version of Java. 210MB of storage space. Connection to the Internet.

Various information:

The update process will take about 15 minutes. During this process, your device will be unavailable for use.

Download webOS Doctor

Download webOS Doctor on your desktop. If you have a profile of webOS, get it from http://ws.hpwebos.com/webosdoctor/sorry.htm

If not, check the webOS Internals page: http://www.webos-internals.org/wiki/Webos_Doctor_Versions

Prepare your TouchPad update

Hold the Power button for a few seconds until a menu. Press on stop to turn your unit off completely.

WebOS Doctor running

Double-click on the downloaded file to start webOS Doctor. Follow the directions on the screen until you are prompted to connect your device. Select the language that you have selected on your device and click Next. Confirm your choice of language. Click on accept to accept the terms of use. Click Next. webOS Doctor checks your system. BE PATIENT! I saw this part take a few minutes to complete. After webOS doctor ends your control system, you will be asked to connect your device.

Connect your device and the finishing of the webOS Doctor update

Connect your device to your computer via the USB cable. You must connect your device directly to your computer, not through a USB hub or other intermediate device. Now the tricky part. Hold the Volume Up button on the device and insert the USB cable. After the USB great symbol appears on the screen, release the Volume button upward. If you see the HP logo instead of the large USB symbol, can the Volume Up button is released prematurely. If this happens, wait for your device to start, stop your device and then repeat step 2. Windows identifies your component and may offer to install two different drivers. When asked to install the drivers of OMAP, choose no not at the moment. When asked to install the drivers for Palm Novacom (liner), select Yes, and then leave the drivers to install. This can take some time. Once the drivers have been installed, the next button will become available in webOS Doctor. Click Next. Do not disconnect your device from the computer during the update process. When the reset is complete screen, click done. Wait a few minutes for your device to reset. You're done!

  • Paved touch glass separating it from the body of the touchpad.

Hi everyone, new user touchpad/webOS here.

My new 32 GB touchpad seems to have a flaw. The glass screen is separate from the rest of the body. I phoned the free Butler service and spoke to a representative on Wednesday afternoon, who advised me to send pictures to show the problem and was told that I would hear within 24 hours of their receipt of my e-mail.

I received a reply this morning (Thursday) saying they received my email and will now work on my case, and I will be contacted when they have an update.

I waited patiently all day for an update with no luck. That's maybe ten hours later, more or less? Now maybe I don't understand the process, but surely it is a manufacturing defect and should be a simple matter of performance for a repair? I'm not quite sure of what is considering the delay I got only two days and the screen has begun to lift on the bottom of the touch pad near the Center Home button.

Please could someone advise me on the turnaround times for this kind of questions? My main concern at the moment, it is that even if I only got 2 days, my touchpad is sitting in the store that I bought since Saturday (they were trying to get a new one, one was commissioned as a replacement without a bit of luck). My 14 days money back guarantee window is short, especially with the end of next week.

If this stretches and I pass in front of the window of 14 days, would still be eligible for a refund on a defective touchpad, IE not only wear?

Also, should I send my return the whole box? That is to say... the brown box of white touchpad including all accessories in box up inside the outer box for a repair? I will answer all the accessories again when they send the a refurbished?

Apologies for dumb questions (maybe). I have virtually no experience with getting the items returned or replaced, so this is all new to me.

Thanks in advance for any advice people can give.

OK, finally I have the success I think!

After a discussion very unsuccessful online earlier this afternoon, I was reading how some people had gotten their touchpads, replaced by advanced unit warranty replacement service. I thought... what the heck... I'll try another web cat to see if the little guaranteed touchpad which includes or not.

Unfortunately, I told myself that no, this is not included in the warranty... Perhaps those of US in the United Kingdom do not understand that? Or maybe the firesale touchpads are not included... I'm not sure on this one. However, I have my history Patricia to relay and explain that I'm quite angry to says that I have to wait until 'during the next week', before I heard if I can send my touchpad in repair.

Long story short... after a long hours Webchat that lasted almost 40 minutes longer that they are supposed to be open (web chat closed at 17:30 in the United Kingdom according to the Palm support page), I now have my created Service repair order and a UPS box is sent to me with a prepaid label. Unfortunately, it will take 7-10 days, but at least they now send me a box to return in.

Score... I think so? Fingers crossed that all is well now, I have created real service order. I think I need a lie down!

You can install programs on a touchpad webOS. Google chrome does not have a version of webOS.

  • In the future, P1102w and PCL5 in charge firmware update?

1 HP P1102W printer with Firmware Version: 20110826

Description: when you try to print from an HP Touchpad (WebOS 3.0.4), I receive 'printer not supported a message. " I read that this is due to the lack of lack of interpretation material PCL5 P1102W. Will it ever work? P1102W will have autonomous interpretation PCL5?

Comments: I know that e-print works very well, but it is limited to 5 MB. I know also support PCL5 is now only being implemented / interpreter for Windows/Mac driver.

    Hello

The depands of language printing on the processor of the printer and not based on the printer driver.

The printer uses Host-Based printing language and do not support PCL 5 or 6 languages of printing.

  • FB427UA HP touchpad: is webos on the touchpad still works

WebOS is still running. I'm looking at a new in the box/old touchpad and want just for surfing the internet and I do not want to load android on it. Can I still use it or the Tablet is unusable?

Hello and welcome to the HP support community!

    Best/better answer: webOS is dead.

There are solutions, but they are not easy to make for a new user.  Most of the users 'above average' everything install Android, or don't bother with the tablets...

See the first few threads on top for a way to defeat the obligation to logon.  (Note: I never made this install Android being my favorite).

  • Transfer of account and recreate a new account for the Touchpad even WebOS

I recently got a 16 GB Touchpad at the great firesale and have a quick question.  I would use this Touchpad for me for a little while, but I get a hand on a 32 GB Touchpad as well.  If I do, I would keep the 32 GB for me and give the 16GB as a gift to a family member.  Is it possible to transfer my account to the new device, and then delete all my data from the first device and re-register with a new account?  I have not created an account on the first device still as I am anxiously awaiting word on whether I will get the Touchpad second, but I'd really just starting to use it if it will be an easy transition to the second device!  Thanks in advance!

Absolutely, you can.  Here's what I would do to make sure that it's going really well:

    1. on the 16 GB model, perform a backup.

    2. the 16 GB model, perform a full erase.

    3. turn on the 32 GB model and enter your webOS account.

    4. leave to set up and install all your applications.

5 perform a backup on the 32 GB model.

    6. go online to your webOS account and remove TouchPad 16 GB.

7 log on the TouchPad to 16 GB with a new account of webOS.

  • Bought the model demo Touchpad, should I use Secure Full Erase WebOS account?

    Hi all

Just picked up a new Tablet from HP Touchpad today and work out the kinks in there. Pretty good so far, but on a new snag has WebOS to come. The Tablet I bought was the store demo model that is apparently already set up with a generic soil profile demo. Unfortunately apparently you can create a new account WebOS via the Setup Wizard initial turning on the new device for the first time. At this point it would be better for me to use the "Secure full erase" options in the system settings to a factory default mode and would it prompt me to create a new account/profile as if I just bought new store?

    Thank you!

    DJ

WOOT! Worked thanks a lot! On the waiting game now also for WebOS servers.

  • Could not create the webOS account to configure HP Touchpad

-Very well, so I got my Touchpad Saturday and attempted to set up in the wake of.  Then to actually use it, you must create an account webOS, but whenever I try, I get the error 'we are unable to create an account for you.  Please try again in a few minutes or contact HP for help to solve this problem.  Visit palm.com/support for more information".  I tried many times, still getting the same error, even after restart the installation process, restart the touchpad and my router, try different wireless connections, try at different times during the day, as well as to change the secret question, password and e-mail to see if it had an effect.  I tried to go on the proposed site and try to chat online with them, as well as qualifying, but they were busy, so I was hoping I could find an answer here.

I got mine to work! What I had to do was run webOS doctor to update and it installation worked perfectly.

  • Profile of WebOS: how Touchpads? Are smartphones allowed?

How many keys can be in a profile of WebOS?

Hello and thank you for using the Palm Help Forums!

Matter, I received, I can advise you that there seems to be a limit on the amount of the Touchpads by HP webOS account. The limit of a smartphone is still standing.

    I hope this helps!

  • Upgrade to webOS 3.4.0.77 on TouchPad

I have improved my TouchPad to the latest webOS 3.4.0.77 last night and based on what has happened past that there may be a bug in the version.

I have a game installed, Super Sudoku HD, and it worked fine until after the upgrade.  Now, if the keyboard is in portrait mode, the game it's in landscape mode and vice versa.  This means that the controls are off the screen.

Someone else has met a similar problem with their applications?  Because the application worked fine before the upgrade, I doubt, it is an application problem; However, to be sure, I also contacted the developer of the application.

    Thank you

    Nicholas.

For the record, Yes, the broken BONE the application but a fix was done (on demand) and provided to HP to distribute.

  • A Firefox for Android download will work on an HP Touchpad?

I just installed the latest Firefox on my desktop. I also have a new HP Touchpad, which uses the WebOS. The Firefox for Android devices will work also on the Touchpad? If not, is there a version being designed for him?

    Hello

Mobile Firefox is not compatible with WebOS, and I don't think there is a plan to develop for WebOS currently.

    Thank you
    Michelle

  • Please consider a build for WebOS

After the firesale HP Touchpad takes the place of #2 market share. Please come back to port a version of webOS.
It's a true multitasking, user friendly os with a loyal following of users (non-lemming) innovative, free-thinking. (A bit like Mozila if you think about it)
I have used WebOS since his debut, was the first of PreFox but it don't play well with the latest build of webOS.
Please throw together a minimalist version of Firefox for loyal users!

There is nobody to Mozilla actively working on webOS. If she were to get traction, it would probably be a continuation of the book of preFox, a port of the community. That being said, if there's a huge lag market it is possible that Mozilla would invest the time engineering to create a version of webOS.
