What is Center.exe process (in Task Manager)?

After pressing HTTP://WWW.ITIS.GOV/SERVLET/SINGLERPT/SINGLERPT?SEARCH_TOPIC=TSN&SEARCH_VALUE=163342-ALT-DELETE, how do I know with certainty which processes in the Task Manager are necessary and which are not? What is Center.exe and is are necessary?

Hi Chloris,

All of the tabs in the Manager tasks is very important programs required for your computer to run, that's why we recommend you not to process the end of it. Please note that finishing process is a crucial process that could disable some important programs which is necessary for your computer to function normally. If you want to make your computer run faster, you can customize the programs you want to run including required from Microsoft programs. You can do this by performing a clean boot, to do so, kindly check How to perform a boot in Windows 7. However, you can complete the process in the Task Manager Applications tab, programs within this tab are the programs that you are currently using, is that programs that is safe complete the process.

Regarding your question on Center.exeis a process installed on your computer by the manufacturer. It allows devices to run, such as USB Server and Wireless LAN network. It is recommended that do not end its process, for which reason it can cause such devices do not work correctly.

Kind regards

When I check the Task Manager, I have several iexplorer.exe files that come up. Sometimes it takes up to 500 to 600 MB of my ram. I sometimes up to twenty of these iexplorer.exe in my process. Microsoft has a solution and saw thousands of others with the same problem in forums etc. When will this be fixed?

    Hi plonky12,

Every new Internet Explorer window that you open will create a new entry iexplorer.exe in the Task Manager.

  • What is nvvsvc.exe process running in the Task Manager?

Hello - What is this nvvsvc.exe (v v w no) running in the Task Manager? Eatting a lot of memory, don't let me put an end to the process, won't tell me where it is located, (I opened to display all files and folders), I can't locate with search, I can't find it in: / c in System 32 files or 64. I ran WSE thinking it could be malware or a virus and came back clean. Am running Windows7 HP 64-bit sp1, IE8, WSE for protection. All updates are up to date with windows and WSE today. UT

You have an nVidia graphics card? If so, the Sub page explains nvvsvc.exe:

  • What is w8edc4.exe and winyxci.exe in the Task Manager processes

I see these two exe files in my XP Task Manager process, but Google and Bing cannot find any info on them. I guess they are some kind of virus, but am not sure.

Sometimes, when a malware gets on your system, it will take on a name composed of a few letters and random numbers.

If you can't find them in a search on the Internet and the suspicious look (like those that do) file names, your system probably now has or has had a malware infection.

Perform scans for malware, and then fix any problems:
Download, install, update and do a full scan with these free malware detection programs:
    Malwarebytes (MMFA): http://malwarebytes.org/
    SUPERAntiSpyware: (SAS): http://www.superantispyware.com/
They can be uninstalled later if you wish.

  • There are several instances of explorer.exe running in Task Manager (currently 7), each help between 10 and 40 MB of memory.

Explorer.exe processes use resources cpu at different times.  I remember reading at the time that this could be a sign of a virus, but I did a full scan with NIS 2010 and nothing showed.  Can someone give me pointers where to begin to investigate?

I did a clean install of Windows 7 Friday last-formatted disk HARD and everything, so he didn't have much time for something bad to happen!

I discovered what is causing the explorer.exe hang... If you give ALL the arguments for explorer.exe in your shortcut/properties, to try to change the default of libraries directory, it crashes.  For example, simply using "explorer.exe C:\. "will cause a task explore hang whent you close it... to crash, I mean the window closes, but the process remains in memory.  I had 15 tonight explorer.exe...  There is advice on the net on how to get the default Explorer for workstation (which I have been using this trick - I HATE default libraries which I NEVER use)... so change your shortcut and remove all the arguments for explorer.exe.  See if it suits it!

As expected, the support has no knowledge on what I see.

PS - I just understand how default Explorer for workstation... Its strange, but it works...  Click right drag the icon from your desktop on the desktop on an empty space.  Create shortcut...  Now detach any Windows Explorer, you have in your taskbar... Now left click, drag your shortcut from the desktop to the taskbar.    Now, if you simply click on it, you go into libraries... BUT - if instead you right click, you will see the shortcut from the desktop and select this option, it goes into my computer... and there's never hang out of any EXTRA explorer.exe!

    Running Windows XP (home edition)

I recognize some of the process that some I'm not.  Most is listed as 'System' under the name of system, some like the "owner", some as "Network Service", some as "Local Service".  Should I still worry about them?  (I'm hoping to speed things up).  Thank you!

    Hello

All running services or displayed in the Task Manager are closely related to each other which will help in the management of programs and application.

You can check the link below: overview of the Task Manager: http://www.microsoft.com/resources/documentation/windows/xp/all/proddocs/en-us/taskman_whats_there_w.mspx?mfr=true

    Hello

    1. don't you make changes to the computer before that happened?

    2. Once you get this error message?

I suggest you to try the steps below and check if it helps.

Method 1: Try scanner SFC [SFC system] on the computer that would be a system file corrupt on the computer search and replace.

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929833

    Method 2:

Also try to set up your computer in a clean boot state, and check if the same issue occurs.

By setting your boot system minimum state helps determine if third-party applications or startup items are causing the problem.

How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or Windows 7:
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135

Note: After the boot minimum troubleshooting step, follow step 7 in the link provided to return the computer to a Normal startup mode.

    Method 3:

Try to scan your hard disk from the Microsoft Security Scanner, which would help us to get rid of viruses, spyware and other malicious software.

The Microsoft Security Scanner is a downloadable security tool for free which allows analysis at the application and helps remove viruses, spyware and other malware. It works with your current antivirus software.

    http://www.Microsoft.com/security/scanner/en-us/default.aspx

Note: The Microsoft Safety Scanner ends 10 days after being downloaded. To restart a scan with the latest definitions of anti-malware, download and run the Microsoft Safety Scanner again.

    Hello

There may be no problem that many Services start and stop on request so everything can be normal.

Start - type in the search box-> control of the superior and right click on - RUN AS ADMIN.

Or Control Panel - Administrative Tools - Control Services.
