  Hi all

  I'm having difficulties if need update windows updates patches in my application server. The server is installed with Microsoft Dynamic NAV in 2013. I have a request not updated on this server because fear of that will be impacting my database SQL of NAV 2013.

  The server O/s: Windows Server 2012 R2

  Application: Microsoft Dynamic NAV 2013

  Database: Microsoft SQL 2012 database

  Please indicate if it is safe for me to apply the updates in it?

• Configure the application server after you change the database

  Dear all,

  We use ORACLE EBS R.12.1.2. Database: 11.1.0.7. 2 RedHat linux servers.

  We are validating failover scenarios keep oracle database data.

  Scenarios is that; We fail on the primary database and primary database role has opted for sleep.

  Should what changes we make on the Application Server?

  Should we change configuration of application server to connect to the new database (name, address of db server... etc). and how?

  Application server connects the engine to opmn. This allows to integrate the code base of the application server. Integration server is just the web server. It also uses the connection to the server application as though it must be configured first.

• Oracle Application Server 10g R3 with patch set 10.1.3.5.0

  Hi all

  Can someone help me on this point, when I install Oracle Application Server 10g Release 3 (10.1.3.1.0) and patch set 10.1.3.5.0 on Linux. I'm not able to find the container forms and reports.

  This version does not support forms and the States or I go what OAS 10 g R2 (10.1.2.0.2) with the patch set 3 (10.1.2.3.0). What is the difference between these two versions.

  Hi James,

  First of all forms and reports are only available in OAS 10 g 2 (10.1.2.0.2) and you would go to the latest version in gr 10, 2 which is 10.1.2.3.

  The Oracle Application Server 10 g 3 version is a limited edition and SOA and OC4J components.

  So if you need to forms and reports, you must make 10 gr 2 OAS.

  should I apply first to apply the patch on infrastructure and on forms & apartment house.

• Print file .rep directly on the printer, configure the application server

  I spent several hours on this forum and unfortunately not found a solution yet so hoping someone has an idea that can help me solve this problem.

  Using forms/States of oracle 11g with a linux application server, we develop on windows machines. Printing reports using compiled .rep files.

  We have a network printer sharing (HP) that is configured on the application server, and we can print on the correct printer directly on the application server.

  Problem is when I try to print a report when executing the forms of oracle on my machine of development directly to the printer.

  I tried:

  SET_REPORT_OBJECT_PROPERTY (l_repid, report_destype, printer);

  SET_REPORT_OBJECT_PROPERTY (l_repid, report_desname, 'APPSERVER_PRINTER_NAME');

  When I put the report_desformat in 'pdf' format I can see the reports to enter the print queue, but they do not reach a 'State' order ' print file empty. "

  When I remove report_desformat, he sends in eps and as I understand it, it prints, but with bad formatting (I work remotely and run by what their colleagues say.)

  I have given up trying to use a report_desformat of pdf and paste it with the default value of the eps, after review, it seems pretty close match that generates pdf format and despite the fact that the queue on the application server throws a misprint even with the eps format it actually always draws for the good enough for now. Would be nice to know what happened here, but the problem has been resolved.

  Now with the Weblogic gaining more popularity on the market, which is the product the value of learning and get certified.
  
  Is it still useful to take Application Server 10 g or go with Weblogic. in certification path, Weblogic 10 g.
  WebLogic now replaces the Oracle application server, average abandoned Oracle Application Server?

  Make it part of the same system (now). Like WebLogic is the portal and the Jukebox, forms etc. are the records.

  What book other than the documentation that you have found the right one for learning.

  Yet to find one, Oracle documentation was OK.

  Is it better to learn the Linux or Windows version?

  Both are very well, choose the operating system you know better.

  I built my Middleware on Linux 64-bit test. Note that the 32-bit version allows to run Forms and Reports Developer.

  Beware of pre-installation tasks

  Install the Oracle database
  Linux RCU (repository creation utility)

  Database

  Use an existing database. (And it worked)

  My test was divided into four main parts: (in this order)

  Installation of the regional coordination unit
  WebLogic Server Install
  Install JRocket
  Forms and reports Install

  According to me, it took me two or three times to do things. (or at least work)

  I found myself with these URLs in the end:

  Administration Server Console http://Host/console 7001
  Enterprise Manager Console http://Host/em 7002
  Enterprise Manager Agent http://Host/emd/main
  Oracle Forms http://Host/formes/frmservlet 9001

  Do you have what version of the application server installed? Not only 10g but you install 10.1.2.0.0 and 10.1.2.2 or 10.1.2.3, patch or have you installed a different version of basic?

  Discoverer 10 g R2 will be available if you use the application 10.1.2.0.0 Server and then patch 10.1.2.2 or 10.1.2.3. If you have installed a different version of the application server you won't have the engine installed discoverer.

  To test simply launch a browser and call the URL for the home page of the server like this: http://yourserver.yourdomain:7778

  If the discoverer is installed you will see links to launch more Discoverer and Discoverer Viewer. You can also try to call direct using Discoverer: discoverer/more/http://yourserver.yourdomain:7778 or http://yourserver.yourdomain:7778/discoverer Viewer

  Another way to see if the discoverer components are installed is to locate the root for the ORACLE_HOME in which the application server has been installed. From there, if you have discoverer, you will see an ORACLE_HOME\discoverer with Sub-folders folder of config, deploy, lib, newspapers, mesg, doc, plus_files, secure and util.

  In addition, if you browse here: ORACLE_HOME\j2ee\OC4J_BI_Forms\applications you should see a folder called discoverer

  If you can't find the files above, you have installed an application server which does not support the discoverer. You will need to uninstall it and then install 10.1.2.0.0 and it patch.   That's what I was expecting. PSIDE and AppServer are built on the same set of libraries. This means that a rule strict version (down to the patch) should be applied. This is mainly because of things like the structure of the request buffer which is exchanged between the client and the server.   In order to change the system settings in the SPFILE you must issue an ALTER SYSTEM SET... SCOPE = SPFILE;
  i.e.

  ALTER SYSTEM SET open_links = 100 SCOPE = SPFILE;

  Restart the DB and recheck the values.

  I'm new to this Oracle 10 g R3 (10.1.3.3) application server. I just installed on my Windows 2003 System. I carefully followed the installation guide. And the installation was successful. After installation, the last page showed a link for the post-installation configuration. I opened it Accordinly. The link was http://marsrover:7777. There was a link to access the console. I went. My address bar showed the link http://marsrover:7777 / em. But nothing open. Then I started my system with a hope that everything will be ok after the reboot. But now the link http://marsrover:7777 / shows nothing and IE says the page cannot be displayed. What is the problem? Help, please.

  Yes No only 10.1.3.3 but 10.1.3.4 is also available. These two are patchsets to be applied on top of your basic (10.1.3.0 or 10.1.3.1) version. Now that you have installed 10.1.3.1, you can download one of these patchsets of MetaLink. Here is the direct pointer to 10.1.3.3 patch (#6148874):

  IAM trying to deploy mapbuilder.jar file in oracle 10g enterprise manager oc4j environment. It gives an error that
  "An error occurred during the processing of the data submitted. Find the appropriate field and enter the correct information as indicated next to each field.
  Location - failed by downloading archive archives. File to archive invalid: type of archive not supported. unknown"
  
  I sent the same way for mapviewer.ear. It has been deployed successfully.
  
  Please, any body tell me what would be the reason. I have here another way to deploy the .jar file in enterprise manager Oracle 10g
