I had this 6700 Officejet just long enough the warranty has expired. Go figure. I have 2 problems.

    1. from my PC, it will print not just black and white, even if I chose "printing black and white only. I have to go through the whole syetem of dialogue ect ect, which is delayed. It prints perfectly just black and white of my portable Macbok.

    2. it won't let me print a document all in black and white, because I have a low color cartridge. Whey do I have to have color cartridges to print just a black and white document. Very annoying and frustrating. I'm almost ready to use as target.

    Hi fpsolutionsllc,

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support! I understand your frustration and want to enlighten us and also bring some answers to your questions about the ink on your HP OfficeJet 6700 systems.

    1. you are able to go to your printer properties and change your settings for printing in black and white only, without having to change it whenever you want to print something. See the steps listed below:

    * Go to your devices and printers

    * Right-click on your 6700 and select Print Options

    * Select your desired default and press Ok

    2. you cannot print without all cartridges installed because even if printing black and white printer will still use the ink contained in the cartridges of color for maintenance tasks. It takes little ink from all cartridges in the service of the print head and avoid any clogging. To get a better understanding of take a look here: use of inkjet printers ink.

I've found this useful information here: a 'ink alert' or "Low on ink" Message appears on the computer or the printer control panel

  • Office Jet 6500 E710n-z will not print black even just replace the cartridge with a new one.

This is the 3rd time having problems on "black" even printing ink isn't empty (but the level is low, like a quarter left).  In the previous cases, I replaced the cartridge and the problem resolved.

The 2nd time was last week.  After I changed the cartridge, it worked (for only 1 week) and the problem is back.  As the ink is full this time and it worked fine when I just changed it, I suspect it is the problem of my printer instead of the cartridge.

I did clean the print head and align the print heads, but the problem persists.  Please advice solution.  Thank you!

I hope that the printhead has no need replace. I would like to look at this document on faulty production for your printer model.  I know some steps here mentioned you already make. Please just read / ignore those and try the ones you have not yet completed.  It presents various ways to clean the print head; If you have just done the cleaning of the box tools, I'd defiantly that manual. It also has a ride to make sure that the product firmware is up-to-date.  Here is the link: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c02455482

    I hope this helps.

  • How can I get my printer to use just the color cartridge for the black & white you are exhausted?

Whenever my on my dell printer black ink cartridge runs out, I'm generally left with a color cartridge, which is a total waste of money, because they are purchased together in a common case; is it possible that I can tell my printer to switch to the color cartridge and use that one until 'she' runs?

I did a search for authentic cartridges, not refurbished which are cheaper, but not as reliable and these are just a few options, I found. Check the cartridge number I've seen series 2 and no 5. But whatever it is, they are there.

  • DeskJet 932C, you can print with just replace the black ink cartridge?

My question is basically simple.  The printer DeskJet 932C can operate with only black ink?  Color ink was empty for a while now, but the printer kept working, printing in black and white.  Due to the cost of the ink and the absence of any income available, we just changed the black ink cartridge.  The problem now is that the printer will not print not even black and white.  Do I have to scrape some funds to replace the color ink cartridge, or y at - it another way to get the printer working with just the new black cartridge?

    Thank you in advance!

    Hello

Your printer can print in black only, but up to a certain point , you need tri-cartouche color otherwise it will not print. It's a little late now, otherwise if you only need to print B & W, a monochrome laser printer is very good and much cheaper to run (in terms of cost per page).

    Kind regards.

  • When to change the print cartridges...?

How will I know if my ink cartridges for the printer are REALLY exhausted totatally (always feel after that computer says "low on ink"...?)   Can I change both cartridges (black anymore)- or is it all of the visuals to know when to change?  These cartridges are not cheap!

Keep with them until print quality becomes unacceptable (washed, etc.).

There is no need to change the cartridges, simply because one is empty. Just change the a void.

  • "Black ink cartridge is not compatible with this printer" message - 56 HP deskjet 5552

I just replaced my HP 56 cartridge in my old printer HP Deskjet 5552 - I use an iMac & when I try to print, I get the message error "black ink cartridge is not compatible with this printer.

It makes no sense that I replaced the cartridge many times before without ever having a problem.

I have already returned a cartridge to the store where it was a problem with the cartridge itself, but the same thing happened with a second.

    Any suggestions gratefully received.

    Thanx, Alison

  • CP1025nw: Printing with the black print cartridge only

Above printer just bought. Vendor assures me that I can print with just installed black toner cartridge. There is no cartridge included in the box! Until I set up and try, East - this correct work with only black cartridge installed? Thank you

    Hi @NoMe1,

I have read your message and see that you would like to know if the printer print with just the black toner installed. I want to help you.

This model requires all toners to be installed to print. When tonics for one or several are exhausted, they will have to be replaced in order to continue printing.

You can configure the printer to print in grayscale, which will use less color cartridges. Here are the steps:

The application, go to the file menu, click Print. Select the driver.

Click on the dropdown, under color quality, you should have the options for printing in grayscale or possibly black and white.

If you appreciate my efforts, please click on the "Thumbs up" button below. Thank you.

  • Why my printer share moved black print cartridge. already loaded.

It is possible that the toner cartridge still has some packaging on it or is it not entirely fixed in place.  I would try to completely remove the toner from the printer cartridge and take a look at the steps in the document found here.  The document includes steps to troubleshoot issues when an error "Install black cartridge" is present on the screen.

Let me know how it goes.

  • Black print cartridge will not print.

All of a sudden my impression fades.  I looked at the levels and he showed the photo and the very low black cartridges.  I changed both.  so I got a new photo cartridge and a new regular black ink cartridge in the printer (in the correct space).  When I printed the impression was very thirsty again.  I did a check for level and it shows the right amount in each cartridge except black regular shows empty.  just a bar empty.  No help for it?

    Hello

    Troubleshooting print quality problems

When you are trying to clean the printer & cartridges nozzles, once you have activated the printer off, unplug the computer and outlet.  When you are ready to turn back, reconnect the appliance to the wall socket, and then the computer.

    Try printing again

  • Photo on the 5510 black print cartridge

I just bought a Photosmart HP 5510 e-all-in-One Printer (B111a).  It doesn't have a crack 'black photo.  Quality of the printed photo will improve if I change the black cartridge for a photo before printing photos black?

    Thank you.

    Hello

I'm afraid that you can't use the photo cartridge instead of the black print on your printer cartridge. See label install the cartridges or the symbols on the door of the printer when you insert the cartridges. The symbols must match those on the cartridges.

If you hurt, I guess you get an error of ink.

  • HP Photosmart Premium Fax all-in-One Printer-C309a-new black ink cartridge will not print

I just installed a new black cartridge (made by HP) what print quality became poor in the middle of a job.  He completed the job just fine, but when I tried to print later, the parts of the document that are in color/black and white will be printed.  Black is simply absent from the document.  the level of supply shows as thin and all the diagnostics indicate that there is no probem.  I have not received the error messages.  I tried to turn the printer power switch.  I tried to clean the print heads.  I tried to uninstall & reinstall the cartridge.  I do not have the black cartridges extra to try to see if that does not solve the problem, but as stated above, it worked at first.  I have just printed on ordinary regular white printer paper.  I tried all the relevant measures in the troubleshooting document of poor mailed print quality HP elsewhere on this page.  nothing worked!  another post mentioned someone resetting the printer, but did not say how it was done.  any ideas on a solution? Thank you!

To reset the printer, follow these steps:

While the unit is turned on, remove the power cord at the back of the printer. Wait at least 30 seconds, then plug the power cord to the back of the printer, then turn on the device. That will complement a power reset.

Now, lack of black printing can be the result of a number of things. If it's only missing say when printing from Word, then print settings in Word are set to grayscale only (or something similar) which would exclude the black cartridge. If all programs, so it's either the main print in grayscale settings only the value or the cartridge/print head is blocked to the top/Sales. If this isn't the print settings, then create a report of print quality and follow the steps described in this document:

  • Black text cartridge problem C410a - no or almost no printing ink on paper

I have a C410a and simply put in cartridges new (all). When I print a test page within the HP Solutions software since the test page is perfect. When I print a test page for the only visible bit Windows printer properties is the 4-color logo in the upper corner. When I print from MS Word I get only the text in color, no black text. If I change the color of the text to do anything otherwise black, printing using color fine ink cartridges.

I tried to change to normal Fast project at best in print quality settings. There is no visible text either in fast draft mode. In Normal mode, there are barely visible black text. In best mode it is faded black text.

I went through the steps on the HP site problems, and this has done nothing to solve the problem. I cleaned the contacts on the head, still no help.

After I put the cartridges again the black text cartridge to print a few pages and they were fine, then all of a sudden, there was nothing of this cartridge. The old previous cartridge was the same way - sometimes it print and sometimes it does not. Without rhyme or reason, just feel random and print do not.

Is there a way to check if there is something blocking the ink to come out of the cartridge or through the cartridge holder (or whatever we call it)?

There is a document with measures to try to follow located here.

If you have already completed the steps in the document, then most likely you are to the "eight Solution: replace the print head." If this is the case, then we have two options here. The first thing I would do is determine the status of the guarantee to the printer using the HP product warranty verification tool.

If the printer is under warranty, then I would contact HP Technical Support on this printer.

If the printer is out of warranty, so we have two options. You can order the print head with product number CN642a HP parts store online. You can look into making a print head soak. The information for this in the thread located here.

    I hope this helps.

  • Black ink cartridge will not print

Putting in a new black ink cartridge the printer says it's there and full of new ink but when printing it don't use it. It happened the last time that I put in the black cartridge and I managed to do it finally work but don't remember what I did. Why is this happening?

With printing black ink is not like that, there are only a few things you can try, and it looks like you did most of them. If the steps described in the following paper the link did not help, then you might make a physical print head cleaning. Bob_Headrick gave the steps to do this in the post below. If none of this does not work, you can either replace the printhead by contacting the support of HP, or you will need to replace the printer. If you are still in warranty, HP can replace the printer without cost to you. I'll link the information to get in touch with them below. The link takes you to a form to fill out. Once you fill it and she is treated, it will give you the printers warranty information, a file number and the phone number to call.

  • HP Photosmart more B210A: black ink cartridge will not print.

The black ink will print on my printer.  I installed new ink and cleaned the print heads.  I did a review of the printer and the ink of color appeared only.  The printer is recognizing the cartridge when I check the ink levels.  The first page after cleaning came out very faint then anything.  At first, I thought that the new black ink cartridge was defective.  So I replaced it with another new - no difference.

The only change is that I have installed all new cartridges when all printing has become very low.

    Help, please.  Thank you.

Fushing did not work, however, we used a demo on Utube and has not used the distlled water.  That could be the problem. The printer is about 8 years old, we decided to get a new one.  Thank you very much for your help.

  • Photosmart 7510 - black ink cartridge does not print

Recently, I replaced the ink cartridges on my Photosmart 7510 C311A. These are all the "genuine HP cartridges ', full.

Black ink (with the symbol of the Pentagon) does not print, not at all. I ran through the standard troubleshooting steps:

    Cleaning of printheads

    Cleaning of copper contacts

    * Check for a good evacuation

My colleague in the corridor as the printer even so I borrowed his black ink cartridge and tried: same problem. The printer does not record that there is a problem, but when I run printing tests, where there should be a black ink, there is absolutely none. All other colors print correctly.

The printer doesn't lack NOT of the printer "align" test however does not offer a suggestion of what to do from there. I've not seen - in test reports - an indiciation of the misalignment.

Suggestions on what to do now?

I had the same problem. I had replaced the empty cartridge black and suddenly, no ink. Finally, what has worked is
    (1) I removed all the cartridges and cleaned the copper connectors with wet Publix.
    (2) I got a wet paper towel and he pressed repeatedly on the silver circular vent that would be under the black cartridge. I did until no black came. Let it dry.
    (3) I replaced all the cartridges and on the printer. I went to tools/clean the cartridge. I did it a couple of times and he finally printed black ink! I confirmed by going to tools/align, and align the cartridges successfully. He had kept before crashes when the black ink did not work.
