When Toshiba will replace Z930-Portege, after 3 replacements of the motherboard?

I bought my Portege Z930 in Dubai this year and she has had 3 replacement of the motherboard. Apparently the configuration has a problem, at least for the models of Dubai (see forum related post: motherboard for Portege Z930 B113 need send to the Brazil, posted: January 29, 2014 11:40)

In Europe, they advised that Toshiba should replace, but in Dubai's local service provider advises another motherboard replacement!

How can I do to request Toshiba to provide me with a slight i7 8 GB RAM 256SSD equivalent model, because living in the same configuration does not work (it takes only a week and a month for the motherboard down).

Please advise,
Thank you

It s doesn't know only not for me that an entire book could be replaced by Toshiba in case of hardware problems.

Usually in case of hardware problems, the authorized service provider should be able to solve hardware problems, replacement of the defective part.

  • HP envy 17 can not boot windows or using recovery DVDs after the replacement of the motherboard

Hi all, I need your help

first of all sorry for my English but I'm from Greece. I really don't know a lot about the mobile only very basic computer.

I have a hp envy 17 3d 2080en with windows 7 Home premium which, after overheating, chips to the motherboard. I ordered and installed a used motherboard from China (part 630793-001 hp number).

After that I tried to start the laptop, but when he opens he said probably due to the change of the material he cannot start windows normally. After reading a lot on the internet, that I tried using the recovery DVDs I had prepared before the problem, but they will not start just yet. Then, I tried to use the cd system repair but again no luck.

I looked in the bios as some people say on the internet and realized that the product number and serial number are different from those of my laptop and it's maybe part of the problem, but I don't know. I looked in other posts about similar problems, but did not get a definitive answer and this is why I post for your help.

    Thanks to you all

IF YOU HAVE AN HP LAPTOP (MINE IS HP ENVY 3D 2080EN) THAT YOU HAVE CHANGED THE MOTHERBOARD WITH ANOTER ONE (MINE WAS FRIED OVERHEATING) AND AFTER REPLACING YOUR LAPTOP DOES NOT START AND YOU CAN'T FIX IT WITH SYSTEM REPAIR DISC OR DOES NOT PERFORM A CLEAN WINDOWS INSTALL OR DON'T LISTEN NOT A RECOVERY CD/DVD RECOVERY THEN EXPERTS HP WHO KNOW NOTHING. LOOK IN YOUR BIOS, AND IF YOU SEE THE PRODUCT NUMBER OR SERIAL NUMBER DIFFERENT THAN THOSE APPEARING ON YOUR COMPUTER (USUALLY IN THE BATTERY COMPARTMENT) THEN GO TO A HP SERVICE ALLOWED AND TELL THEM TO HAVE YOYR TATTOOED BIOS. WITH THE TATOO (COST US $ 40), THEY WILL REPLACE THE NUMBER OF BAD PRODUCT AND/OR THE SERIAL NUMBER WITH YOUR MOBILE PHONE NUMBERS AND YOUR PROBLEM IS SOLVED. MY MOTHERBOARD HAS BEEN FRIED TO OVERHEAT AND I BOUGHT A USED ONE FROM CHINA. AFTER I REPLACED IT THE LAPTOP WOULDN'T START AND WOULD NOT ALLOW ME TO REPAIR DVD HE OR EVEN THE USE OF RECOVERY. I CALLED HP SUPPORT, I EVEN JOINED THE HP FORUM TO ASK FOR HELP AND I GOT ONE EXPERT WAS USUALLY TRY THIS OR TRY THIS. DON'T LISTEN TO THEM. FINALLY, I READ AN ARTICLE FROM THE INTERNET THAT EXPLAINED THAT WHEN YOU CHANG THE MOTHERBOARD / SYSTEM BY ANOTHER THEN THE BIOS REFERS TO THE NEW PRODUCT NUMBER, MOTHERBOARDS AND/OR THE SERIAL NUMBER AND THIS WAY THERE IS INCOMPATIBILITY WHICH DOES NOT ALLOW WINDOWS TO START, YOU CAN NOT REPAIR WITH SYSTEM REPAIR DISC OR IT DOES NOT PERFORM A CLEAN WINDOWS INSTALLATION OR A RECOVERY CD/DVD RECOVERY. ONCE YOU TATOO THE BIOS THATS IT. THE LAPTOP WORKS. I HOPE THAT THIS MESSAGE WILL HELP SOME PEOPLE WAISTING THERE TIME AND SPEND THE MONEY FOR NOTHING

  • BitLocker - encrypt - decrypt cycle after the replacement of the motherboard?

After replacing the motherboard of your laptop with BitLocker encryption, the system requires a recovery key. Once inside, connect us to the system as long as decrypt it administrator local to turn off BitLocker and, once finished, activate BitLocker.

This whole process of disabling and enabling BitLocker may take up to an hour to complete, during which the laptop can not be used by the user.

Is it there anyway that we can re - initialize BitLocker, after a motherboard replacement, without all the decrypt / encrypt process?
While the time that the system cannot be used is reduced to just a few minutes?

    Hi Dennis,

Thanks for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

I am afraid that you cannot re - initialize the BitLocker after the replacement of the motherboard as the TPM secure is removed or changed. A TPM Module (TPM) is a chip that is integrated into a computer. It is used to store cryptographic information, such as encryption keys. Information stored on the TPM chip may be more secure from external software attacks and physical theft. BitLocker uses the TPM module to help protect the Windows operating system and user data and to ensure that a computer is not tampered with, even if it is left unattended, lost or stolen.

If your new motherboard does not have the required by the BitLocker TPM, you can refer to the section can I use BitLocker on an operating system without a TPM Reader? in the following article and follow the steps.

  • Failure scenario / repair (replacement of the motherboard)

We test scenario fix break as replacement of the motherboard.

Scenario 1: Motherboard replaced is the same as model. We need to date/modify anything in mirage or new motherboard
Settings (drivers) will be automatically synchronized with existing CVD?

Scenario 2: Replaced motherboard is the model which is different from the old. Please suggest some sort of these scenarios and measures to overcome such situations.

    Kind regards

    Bathesha

    Hi Bathesha,

Scenario 1: You don t have to change anything because the drivers and devices are the same for the computer. The Windows doesn´t operating system know that the Board is changed. This is possible if you have 1:1 the same card mother/device. If this isn't the case,-> follow scenario 2.

Scenario 2: You create a library driver and a driver for new devices/mothers policy. Then you can apply drivers to CVD and Mirage is put in the Windows driver folder using Windows Update to install drivers for the new Board of Directors.

    Best regards

  • Windows 7 Home Basic will be activated not after the replacement of the motherboard has failed

    Hello

My cousin has a copy available from Win7 Home Basic SP1 64-bit, which is an OEM pack and geographically limited in India.
Recently, the desktop motherboard has developed a fault and it was replaced by the seller that it was under warranty (so assuming that to be the same brand and model of origin).
After the replacement, he receives a prompt from time to time that the version of Windows is not genuine and a new product key must be purchased which means buying a new copy of Windows altogether.
I tried to help him with his number and did some research on the microsoft Web site. I tried reactivate using the same product key, but get the message that the hardware has changed and the same key cannot be used. I also tried to use the phone activation method - but after entering all numbers of 9 series a message is read on that there is a technical error and the appeal is terminated. (But he does not say why the version of Windows cannot be enabled)
I came across the following post which seems to suggest that the same product key can be used as long the motherboard is replaced for a foul and the brand and the model have not changed.
    http://answers.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/Forum/Windows_7-windows_install/after-replacing-my-failed-motherboard-Windows-7/b547458e-a1ae-45df-AE4C-e4d191fc8e6a
I would like to know if there is a way to validate the Windows version now. We are concerned that both the computer and the BONES are authentic copies and licensed and it is not just that we need to get a new product key. I would like to know if there is a phone number or address of Microsoft office in India or abroad with which we can express our concerns.
    Thank you

  • Touchsmart 320 computer: Activation of Windows 7 after the replacement of the motherboard

After that my PC has failed because the motherboard has been damaged by an electric shock, I replaced the motherboard in a Service of HP to the Chile. When I got back my PC it works fine, but after 1 week, it begins to show a message that says I need activate Windows 7. When I try to activate, it asks me the product key, but there is no place to find. After a few days it will lock up and I could ' t use more. I pick up the PC with recovery system and works very well the first days but again is asking me to activate Windows 7. Where can I get activation key for my Windows 7 original product? I want to continue to use my PC normally.

    Thank you.

    Greetings,

There should be a Microsoft COA 25 character sticker attached to your system.

Try the product on the certificate of Authenticity number.

You will need to contact HP for the service if there is no COA sticker.

It seems that HP did not tattoo the BIOS on the new motherboard with the correct information to auto activate the operating system.

    See you soon!

  • seriously damaged 6s - Apple iPhone screen will replace just the screen?

So, I got a new 64 GB iPhone 6 in September last year because Verizon forced me to upgrade my old 5 c.  I had initially purchased AppleCare + under the pretext that the policy CA + had not changed and that if damage were to occur on the screen that they would replace the screen for free.  I bought a case for the phone and before the case had arrived, I had already managed to break (we're talking a timespan 2 day of all that happens, unfortunately), and when I called to make the appointment to take in what I thought would be a free replacement, they informed me of the new fees of $79.  Well, I was pretty mad because I had already paid $100 for AC + and then pay an additional $79 seemed ridiculous because they were customer support without AC $109 + for a new screen.  The math doesn't add up, so I got a partial refund of my AC + and never got the screen fixed and lived with the crack.  Well long story short the screen is now completely broken through my 11 month old and I can't use it at all - you can barely see through the glass falling pieces, and the screen itself does not.  Can someone tell me if yes or not it simply a replacement of the screen or I have to buy a phone brand new?  And if she's going to be the last, I'm not keep the phone, I am trading it back in because we are switch from Verizon to AT & T - I can take it for a 3rd rep party to get a new screen and still get trade in value of the phone?  AT & T is simply that it is y no cracks in display political and joins the local cell phone repair, so I guess that Yes on the second part of this question.

As long as there is no additional damage on the phone itself you can get the screen replaced but if the case is damaged, you will need to use your franchise under AppleCare + as an alternative to the iPhone.

  • Windows Vista after the replacement of the motherboard

I replaced a faulty motherboard on my windows vista machine, now it tells me my copy of windows is not genuine, how can I fix this?  Original was an AMD Phenom processor, replace it with a processor Intel i3 and Council.  Once the physical exchange of has been done, he pulled upward and ran with no problems until now, about 3 weeks after the change of material.

If the copy of Vista came with your computer (in other words, it was a copy sold OEM preinstalled on your computer) you are virtually no chance that the OEM copies are linked to the motherboard and if he dies, the copy of Windows is no longer valid.  Otherwise, you must follow the instructions for activation by telephone and explain the exchange of material and you will be assisted with the reactivation of your copy of Windows.

  • 405 proDesk G2: how to activate Windows after replacement of the motherboard

I upgraded my G2 405 ProDesk to Windows Pro 10 of the original OEM Windows 7Pro earlier in the year.

Last week, is not the motherboard.  The PC is still under warranty, so HP arranged for a replacement on place of the motherboard.  It worked well, except that windows is activated is no longer.  I called Microsoft with the installation ID in order to get a re-activity windows confirmation ID.  Microsoft said that I need the original license key.  I don't have that because it's an installation OEM from HP with, arguably, the key in the BIOS that has been replaced.

So what I do now?  HP will issue me with a license key given that the PC is still under warranty?

Just to clarify, the license was Windows 8.1 Pro downgraded to Windows 7 Pro, so there was a key Windows 8.1 on the original BIOS but the PC came with Windows 7.

Your post got me thinking, however. I ran the FirmwareTablesView.exe application on the new motherboard and found a license key in the BIOS.  Then, I went to change the product in Settings\Update & security key and enter the key of the new BIOS.  Activation was then successful.

  • HP Pavilion Notebook 15-e020us: reactivation of Windows 8 after the replacement of the motherboard

I have a client with a HP Pavilion Notebook 15-e020us. The motherboard is dead and must be replaced. It is, of course, out of warranty. I can find used/given to nine mothers online, but worry about the reactivation of Windows 8.1 once the replacement card is installed.  Can someone enlighten me on how to go about this without having to pay for a new license key?  I met the same problem with a Dell laptop and have ended up changing the license to it, making the project too costly.

my Asus laptop has recently developed a problem and the service center advised me to change the motherboard and therefore the same thing has been done. But now I am not able to activate windows. Help, please.

If the original motherboard was faulty and replaced by an identical motherboard, the license reactivate without any problems which you have just referred.
