  • Make sure the disk is running whenever I start, and although I can access the internet, I can't open any websites.

Control of disk runs whenever I starts and then displays windows so I guess it solves the problem, but I can't open any websites, even if I get to the internet.  I got my connection verified by my internet provider and I had my system examined by the technical service of my provider of virus & protection all to nothing does not.   Where can I find the results of analysis of disk verification?  It basically says the disc must be check for compatibility, but at the end of the analysis, it publishes results for just a second.  Too fast to read.

It is good - now you know what the problem is and why XP prevents running chkdsk (he's trying to help you!).

Here is a link to the article from Microsoft KB on the XP Recovery Console:
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/307654

You do not need 'install', you will have to 'use' then go to the section 'how to use the Recovery Console.  Save installation if for another day.

After step 4, you should be at the command prompt in the folder c:\windows.

If anything it of a little weird or don't look right, or you don't get it, stop and you can make a CD of bootable XP Recovery Console and use it.

Don't forget: you can't question the bit of impurity of the Recovery Console.  When the chkdsk /r is running clean (it may take more than one pass), reboot and see if chkdsk wants to run again or not, and then query the dirty bit again if you don't know what it is in the State.  The volume must be "not dirty" or chkdsk will want to turn on every restart, until it is.

Once in the Recovery Console, follow these steps:

The Recovery Console allows base as file commands: copy, rename, replace, delete, chkdsk, fixboot, fixmbr, cd, etc.

For a list of the commands in the Recovery Console, type help at the prompt of commands or read on here XP Recovery Console:

    http://www.Microsoft.com/resources/documentation/Windows/XP/all/proddocs/en-us/recovery_console_cmds.mspx?mfr=true

A good idea before you start things must first verify the integrity of your file system by using the chkdsk command.

In the command prompt window, run the chkdsk command on the drive where Windows is installed to try to fix any problems on the afflicted player.

Running chkdsk is fine, even if he finds no problem.  It won't hurt anything to run it.

Assuming your boot drive is C, run the following command:

    CHKDSK C: /r

Let chkdsk finish to correct the problems, he could find.

It may take a long time for chkdsk complete or they seem to be "stuck".  Be patient.  If the HARD drive led blinks always, chkdsk is something.  Keep an eye on the amount of the percentage to be sure that it is still making progress.  It may even seem to go back sometime.

You must run chkdsk/r again until it finds no error to correct.

Remove the CD, and then type "exit" to exit the RC and restart the computer.

You have not to set the BIOS to boot the disk HARD since the CD won't be.

  • I need to change the encoding whenever I start Firefox it doesn't remember my choice. Why?

Encoding is Western, and I need it to be Unicode. I change, but everytime I open e-mail once again the encoding back to the West. How can I keep Unicode permanently?

Sounds that the server sends the page with the incorrect coding because if the server sends a coding then that wins and you use the menu "Firefox > Web Developer" or on XP possibly "View > character encoding" in the bar menu is visible to change the encoding to Unicode.

If you have the Firefox menu orange button, you can set the pref browser.menu.showCharacterEncoding true on the topic: config page for easy access.

I don't know if there are still extensions to set the encoding of this work properly in the current versions of Firefox, but you can take a look at the site of modules.

I installed the latest IE, but I keep getting a notice to download whenever I start.  How can I stop it?

    Hello Buster Funch,

Welcome to the Microsoft Answers Forum!

First of all, you can try to check what version of Internet Explorer is installed on your computer.

To determine the version of Internet Explorer, click on about Internet Explorer on the Help menu or press Alt + H and then press A.

If you are repeatedly prompted to download and install the Windows Internet Explorer update, I suggest that you try to check if Internet Explorer is installed correctly. See this article for more information on this:

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/what-should-I-do-if-Internet-Explorer-8-doesn ' t-install properly

You can try to reset the Internet Explorer security settings by running the Fix - it suggested in the article.

If nothing works, then try to uninstall Internet Explorer and try to install it once more. Here is an article that will give you steps how to uninstall Internet Explorer 8:

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/957700

Try this and let us know if it works.

  • I can't start my computer after installing updates to manualling

This happened almost a year and once from time to time I revisit the issue to see if I can find a solution.

I tried to download the new version of Windows Live Messenger. Installation did not work because I needed a certain update. This hard drive (I have several) was not install updates for a while. Up to this point, I just thought it was a nuisance, but not a major problem. Because my computer would not install the updates on its own, and I needed a special update for the new Windows Live Messenger, I went online to find the update to install. I got the update ID (I don't remember what it was) so I quickly found and installed. Everything seemed fine until I restarted my computer - or attempted to guess - after installation. My computer won't start. I get a screen asking if I want to start Windows normally or start windows repair.

Here are some of the things I've tried so far:

Start Windows normally: a screen comes up saying something about checking the disks and it is recommended that you do not stop the disk check. I do not have anything and immediately it says that the disk check has been arrested. He stays on this screen infinitely - believe me I left on this screen for hours.

Repair Windows: I used windows repair in the past for other problems and it worked wonderfully. This time I click to run windows repair and I go to a blue screen with the background of the blue sinuous line of vista but there is to this and nothing comes up.

Safe mode (and any version of safe mode): when starting, I pressed F8 to start the extended options. All safe mode options lead to the same thing. I get a list of drivers and it says please wait... It always gets stuck on \windows\system32\drivers\crcdisk.sys and it is going nowhere.

I tried almost all the options in the F8 menu and they all be given the normal startup problem or safe mode

I then tried to do a repair of my disk of vista system. This time - unlike the previous attempt to repair windows - I got the menu normal repair. Unfortunately, the repair "attempted to correct the disk error" during more than 15 hours. I then shut down my computer, once again beaten by my computer.

I always use this computer with other drives with no problems. Thus, it is certainly a problem on the hard drive and must be associated with the update I installed manually before this problem.

    Help, please!

    Hi, EMP,.

Since you are unable to boot into safe mode and unable to repair the system, you can try to boot from the Windows Vista disc and try to perform a system restore.

Method 1: Try to perform a system retsore.

For more information, you can consult the following articles:

An update is not installed successfully when you try to install the update in Windows Vista and Windows 7

What are the system recovery options in Windows Vista?

    Method 2:

If you still experience the problem, then try to perform a checkdisk to repair bad sectors on the hard drive.

You can boot from Vista disk full or to run Checkdsk select command prompt from the System Recovery Options menu.

    a. Insert the installation disc.

    b. restart your computer.

    c. click on the Start button, click the arrow next to the button lock and then click on restart. If you are prompted, press any key to start Windows from the installation disc.

Note: If your computer is not configured to start from a CD or a DVD, see the documentation provided with your computer. You may need to change your computer's BIOS settings.

    d. choose your language settings, and then click Next.

    e. in the System Recovery Options menu, click command prompt

    f. at a command prompt, type the following command and press ENTER

    Chkdsk /f /r X: (drive letter)

Note: When you run the checkdisk, there are risks of data loss you can take a backup before starting the checkdisk.

    g. press y when you are prompted to check the drive the next time the system restarts.

    h. close all applications and restart the computer.

Note: When you run the disk check, there is a chance of losing the data you can take a backup before starting the checkdisk.

     Hope this information is useful.

  • After you have installed windows 7 on my pc, sometimes different errors whenever I start a game! and I lie down the computer.

I just installed windows 7 64 bit of vista 32 bit on my acer and then I can't play all games, there is always a different error on games. It has stopped working or a mistake happens! It makes me a little angry when all I wanted was a better pc and now I have sittet in a few days and finally got it right, and then everythings blowing!

    Hi, Jacob Sulkjaer,.

There are many reasons for the game does not work correctly because each game has its own requirements.

    Method 1

Check if the game is compatible with Windows 7 64-bit using the Compatibility Center.

    http://www.Microsoft.com/Windows/compatibility/Windows-7/en-us/default.aspx

    Method 2

If you receive same error message after the game is compatible Windows 7, then check the power to the game manual if any software or plugin is required for the game works properly on the game provider's Web site.

    Method 3

Many games need updated versions to day or greater cards installed on the computer.

You may need to update the graphics card drivers on the computer by visiting the website of manufacturer of graphics cards download and install the updated driver and check if it works.

Also update the motherboard chipset drivers by visiting the site of computer manufacturer.

    I hope this helps!

    Open the C: drive.

    N ° 1)

Go to C: > Program Data > Adobe.

Open the Adobe folder and locate the folder named SLStore.

    Rename SLStore old SLStore.

    Step 2)

Navigate to C: > Program Files common files > Adobe.

Under Common Files > Adobe, find the folder named SLCache.

SLCache open folder and all its contents to the backup on the desktop folder.  You must create a backup manually and move the content of SLCache.

Note : make sure SLCache is empty.

Then launch installed apps CC and identify yourself.

Once you have signed and launched the application.

    Quit and restart and check.
