Wher r my favorites

I downloaded firefox last night and it made my homepage. I seem to have trouble finding my favorite sites that I go there regularly for

In Firefox, it is called bookmarks. I assumed that you upgraded your Firefox version 3.6, right? If this is a new installation of Firefox, you will need to import your IE Favorites:

File > import

and follow the procedures.

  • Where are my favorites?

I've upgraded to FF 39.0 for 'security reasons' now my favorites are microscopic after customization.

Bookmarks are supposed to be huge, you know; AS IN A BOOK, YOU HOLD IN YOUR HANDS.

I had them on the bottom of the page but now they simply disappeared even on the toolbar 'bbokmark' I got them it YEARS ago; now, there is nothing there.

I see there's a "sidebar" taking up 1/8th of a page (and I don't see how that affect video playback) I can just manage with this massive intrusion holler at me all the time. Yes, I could not use the sidebar and I don't want, but once again the microscopic size is useless for me.

Finally FF says NOTHING about the changes that I could find that has radically changed the installation program. FF is on the definition of it as I want, now head office insists. It is impossible that this "update" for "security reasons." I consider that it is a lie. It happened too often. I lost in a perfectly reasonable way of navigation without apparent reason at all.

He finds... You have removed the bar of the addon.

Which there was no mention of when the latest "security reason" was updated.

  • where are my favorites, please?

    Dear Firefox Support,

A few days earlier, I was using Firefox as usual, with my favorites stored correctly in the menu bookmarks and those that I use the most in my toolbar. I spent earlier on Firefox, to find that all my favorites have disappeared. Favorite bookmarks, I had also disappeared, and favorite I had saved the sites disappeared, too, since there is no toolbar. I had recently refreshed Firefox. I got a lot of bookmarks (perhaps 100), and they are all gone. I can't access it, since Firefox has completely wiped them out.

    Could anyone help me, please?

    Somewhat irritated Firefox user

    Dear JSCHR2000,

Thank you very much for your answer. Feel a bit sheepish now, as the right click on the menu tab certainly all come back. Thanks again,

    More happy user of Firefox

  • Just updated FireFox, where are my FAVORITES?

I (normally 68 Bookmarks) not including the bookmark toolbar. I've just updated to the whatever the version of Firefox, the same as I have several times in the past. I think I started with Firefox 9. I've never had a problem, never had to save stuff to a file before updating. But this time he has not brought over all the bookmarks, passwords... As a new first time install without warnings, or instructions. I got the pop up for update of Firefox, so I clicked on the button update now as always for Firefox. It is the only browser I use to import my stuff lost cannot be done. I need to go back to the one I had that worked perfectly. Please I don't have a perfect memory to keep track of website addresses, why I bought a computer. so, I would not. I mean if you're going to wipe the 10 years of things saved you could at least put a warning on the stupid pop-up.

Are there backups .jsonlz4 compressed in the bookmarkbackups folder in the profile folder?

Do you have you refresh (reset) Firefox for your update and created a new profile?

This could happen if Firefox has reported that it began slowly.

When you refresh/reset Firefox then a new profile is created and some personal data (bookmarks, history, cookies, passwords, data form) are automatically imported.
The current profile folder will be moved to "Old data Firefox" folder on the desktop.
Installed extensions and other customizations (toolbars, Pref.) that you have made are lost and must be redone.

It is possible to retrieve data from the "Old data Firefox" folder on the desktop, but be careful not to copy the files corrupted to avoid transporting more problems.

  • None of 'items' addresses the fundamental question: How can I see my favorites? Q & A are useless!

I used to have a bar at the top of Firefox, where I could shoot down my bookmarks menu. Who has disappeared. Ask "where are my favorites?" lead to useless as answers "how to bookmark a page." It has been suggested to click on the menu icon (you have to guess what the top of 3 bars right) and click on the bars to view menu, or something like that. problem is, there is no option in this menu. Who is responsible for screwing up what used to be a very user friendly browser? I might have to go back to the Solution Explorer, not a happy prospect. Firefox, you pay attention?

Hi BarryB, in the window menu, down, there is a Customize button. When the Customize dialog box opens, along the bottom, there is "show/hide toolbars.

  • Favorites has disappeared from the Favorites bar

All of a sudden (and all about the last update, if the memories are good, but I'm not entirely sure it coincides exactly with that) my bookmarks toolbar displays all the bookmarks. On the contrary, there is a "Bookmarks" button (icon: White Star on gray rectangle) on the left side of the toolbar of bookmarks. When I click on this button, a menu opens where all my favorites are present as usual, including a record 'Personal bar' with the usual Favorites still in it. In other words, the Organization of my favorites is unchanged, and they are all still there, but the bookmarks toolbar displays more bookmarks in the folder "Personal bar" in my bookmarks menu.

Tried to drag the bookmarks on the bookmarks folder does not work either.

    Suggestions, anyone?

If don't you right-klick on your toolbar and select "Customize...". ", it shows an article that says"Bookmarks Toolbar Items"on your bookmarks bar?
If this is not the case, try searching in the elements of the "Customize toolbar" window that has just opened and drag it to your toolbar.

  • A previous version of Firefox points to the latest version installed on a separate drive, missing Favorites

Could Hello, please I have some assistance with the following?

I had installed on the same partition as the windows that I started from firefox. Due to an error, that this partition would no longer boot and I had to install clean windows and firefox on a separate disk.

I have managed to get the partition works again and you can access all the files on it again. Unfortunately when I load firefox on the partition previously failed it seems to load up to the same version I have installed recently. None of my old bookmarks are in the menu which is what I'm trying to access. I looked here for help and the following does not apply to me...

-There is no record of profiles in the old partition so I can't find Places.sqlite.
-Troubleshooting > folder show advanced towards the application data on the new installation drive
-It seems to be backup.json on the old partition files

So my question is are there any where on the old partition you can think of where my old favorites can be kept?

    Any suggestion would be appreciated
    Thank you very much
    JD

The "Application Data" in XP/Win2K folder and the folder "AppData" in Windows Vista and later versions of Windows 7 + are hidden folders.

The old profile folder must be in one of these places.

    XP:

    • C:\Documents and Settings\ < user > < profile > \Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\.

    Vista/Windows 7:

    • C:\Users\ < user > < profile > \AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\.

    Windows: %AppData%\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\ < profile >.

I came back to work on Monday and all my favorites have disappeared. Recently, synchronize bookmarks on the new computer with the old computer. Bookmarks have been synchronized successfully... then I erased everything on the old computer. Where are my favorites?

You should have turned off Sync on the old PC before you delete the bookmarks on the old PC.

You should have a backup on the new PC which can be restored.

  • HTML not imported favorites.

I exported a bookmark of IE9 HTML file. After (successfully) import the file in Mozilla8, no bookmarks (or 'IE' directory) are visible. Any ideas?

"I exported a bookmark of IE9 HTML file."

You don't get the Internet Explorer folder when doing an IE export and then import the file into Firefox. This file appears only when the "import data from a different browser is used ' or when the function"import data"is used during the initial installation of Firefox.

When you view the "library" window, in the left column, you should be able to open the folder and all bookmarks in this folder, you should see folders Bookmarks Toolbar and Menu bookmarks with positive points and a folder of bookmarks not sorted. The bookmarks Menu folder is where all IE Favorites.

Or you could open the sidebar display bookmarks using {Ctrl + B} and then open the Menu folder bookmarks.

Dbellca82 gave you old Firefox 7 information and earlier versions. The "Import" in the "Library" window feature has been changed in Firefox 8 and is a little different from what has been used before, when there was a separate post of the 'Import' menu on the file menu in the Menu bar.

The Firefox button is a default feature in Windows Vista and 7 only. If you want in Windows XP, you can go to: view > toolbars and UNCHECK the menu bar.

'S called it "Bookmarks" in Firefox, no Favorites.
