  I suspect that this means that you will have a harder time trying to find a workaround than people who have a BIOS that can disable switchable graphics functionality.

When I opened first to the top of my new laptop, I did a clean install of Windows 8 from a USB key. This completely erased all of the HP preinstalld drivers, software, etc.

  I installed the beta drivers for my laptop from the site Web of AMD.  Here's my problem. How will I know that my dedicated video card working properly? I ran a few games and they seemed to do as well. But when I checked my system with CPUz and dxdialog it says that I was running the graphics card integrated. How does the dual graphics and how can I make sure I take advantage of my dedicated card. An explanation of the depth and how for the use of the AMD solution dual graphics card would be apprechiated.

  I'm no expert on the switchable graphics, but you find the answers to your questions in the Overview of the switchable graphics or Dual GPU or switchable on portable graphics equipped with double GPUS and AMD.  Be forewarned however, documents were written for the HP PC using the appropriate HP, drivers if you use the Beta from AMD drivers, then documents may not match what you see on your system.

  Don't know what exact version of the ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4500 Series driver you are using, but I suspect it's v8.93.xxx. To check:

  • [Win] + X
  • Device Manager
  • Go to the section graphics cards
  • Right click on your ATI graphics card you select Properties
  • Go to the driver tab and check what happens next to the Version of the driver

  If do not run v13.1 I suggest the following:

  1. The point of creating a Windows restore - just in case...
  2. Download (do not install immediately) v13.1 AMD Catalyst Display Driver here if you are running a 64 bit version of Windows 8, or from here , if you are running a 32-Bit version
  3. Download and install Driver Sweeper here
  4. Uninstall your ATI graphics driver
  5. Run Driver Sweeper audit "ATI - display" only
  6. Install the AMD Catalyst v13.1 downloaded to #2 display driver

  Hello world. I recently upgraded my Lenovo ThinkPad T400 Vista Enterprise OS to Windows 7 Enterprise (32 bit). Everything seemed to work fine except one thing - the graphics.

  Some games like the Sims 3 and Left 4 Dead can be played, but they were choppier before the upgrade. Left 4 Dead 2 could not be played at all. Only, he launched and disappeared. I already made sure I use my laptop on the 'Best Performance', as usual before the upgrade.

  I am running Windows 7 Enterprise, I can't use Windows Update since it is controlled by WSUS.   I am proud to say that I finally found the answer to this annoying problem. What you have to do, believe me, it worked for me, is that you must upgrade to Windows 8.1. After you are done, download the drivers for your model specific TO the COMPUTER, NOT from AMD WEB site. If it's for Windows 7, it does not matter. Download it. Once it is downloaded, run it in compatibility with Windows 7 and with administrator rights mode. Then, as usual, follow the steps and restart

  Part of the problem is not so much finding sites that have articles on Oracle, that is to find reliable websites with this information.  When I search my site of certification for resources, I find a significant number of people who have 'technical' Articles on Oracle. However, many of these blog posts have simply no useful information.  It is not even that they are wrong so far as article does not include anything that is not declared more clearly and in detail in the documentation.
