where is the Security Center microsoft on a laptop running windows 7
When I put norton antivirus on the laptop it came with unstall Center microsoft security, but I can't find in the control panel of configuration or looking for the start menu please help
If the message doesn't really tell Microsoft Security Center, I suggest that you have a fake anti-virus on your computer. Remember, it won't let you install Norton is a good thing in my opinion.
Could you please confirm that the message says "Microsoft Security Center", because the real utility of good faith is called Windows Security Center...

(b) when I try to activate Defender, I get the error code 0 x 80070424. «Windows Defender encountered an error: 0 x 80070424.» The specified service does not exist as an installed service. »I tried 5 different Microsoft its difficulty, but none have worked so far. I also tried to reinstall Windows Defender, but Microsoft said that I installed it. All updates are underway. I followed the steps in this link: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/968002 and no. chance either. I used additional resources and tried following these steps also, but all services have already started on my system.

Hello
Sometimes, it is a bug that occurs, especially after installing MSE for the first time. Restart the computer and see if the Security Center successfully, then reports that you are protected by an antivirus.
If restarting the computer does not resolve it, try the following fix - http://social.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/c0ca9eb2-14b0-4591-be85-4b7fd1700191/windows-security-center-wmi-fix-onecare-green-security-center-at-risk

Hello
· Are you can change the Security Center service parameter by using a different user account on the computer?
I suggest you to make sure that Windows Defender is running. Follow the below mentioned articles and check.
Follow the suggestions below for a possible solution:
Method 1: I suggest you perform the clean boot and check.

http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135
Note: After troubleshooting, be sure to configure the computer to start as usual as mentioned in step 7 in the above article.
Method 2: If the method above is not enough, then I suggest refer you the link try the steps and check if that helps:
How to perform an upgrade on the spot on Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows Server 2008 & Windows Server 2008 R2
http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/2255099
Note:
You can back up data to an external hard drive and no CD. It is essential to back up data even if you do an upgrade on the spot.
If you are using the original computer and the new laptop image, you will need to purchase a product key to activate the copy of windows installed on the laptop.

Cannot depend on Security Center "the Security Center cannot start."
I'm afraid that my computer may not be protected because I cannot depend on SecurityCenter, would appreciate any advice, thank you very much.
Original title: when I try to activate the Security Center, I receive a message saying "failed to start Security Center" can someone tell me why?
Hi Bluehound,
- Since when are you facing this problem?
- You did changes to the computer before this problem started?
- You have a third-party security software installed on the computer
Step 1
First of all, check if the Security Center service is set to automatic and started. To do this follow the steps below:
a. Click Start.
b in the start search box type services.msc and press to enter.
(c) in the services window, do scroll down to Security Center.
d. right-click on it and click Properties.
e. check if the startup type is set to automatic, otherwise it is set to automatic.
f. click on the Start button, this will start the Security Center service.
g. click on apply and Ok.
Check if you can enable the Security Center.
Step 2
If the problem persists, you can also try to temporarily disable third-party security software on the computer and try to check if you can enable the Security Center. If you are able to start, you can contact the manufacturer of security software and check if you need to change the settings. Later, re-enable the security software.
I hope this helps. Let us know the results.
Thank you and best regards,

Whenever I try to open the Windows Security Center, I always get the same error message "The Security Center Service does not start. Evreytime I try to activate Windows Defender, I get the error "Defander Windows is disabled by group policy"
I've tried everything I can think of and nothing works. ALSO when I try to delete a file of 50% of the time that I get the message that it requires an Administrative authorization, so I click and give permision, drunk, then when I try again to delete the file, I get the same message, that it requires an administrative authorization.
He this maybe an a glich error, or is it because my computer is a HP Compaq and ALL settings constantly kkeps change on me no matter what I do.
I am running WIndows Vista Home Premium
Hello
You should try the following steps:
- Manually start the Security Center Service
Click Start, click Run, type "services.msc". Scroll down and double-click Security Center. Set starts off in automatic. Click on 'start. Restart your computer and check if it is running.
- Manually launch the .exe
Right click and "run as Administrator" on C:\Program Files\Windows Defender\MSASCui.exe
- Registry
Look for the value DisableAntiSpyware at:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows Defender and delete who appreciate, but make a backup first.
- Make sure you have a file named "wscui.cpl" in the Windows\system32 folder. If so, try to start, if not, you can copy it from another PC.
Perhaps all this steps work for you.

Security Center Windows won't power up - error: could not start the Security Center Service
Windows Security Center does not, when I try to turn it on there an error message says "Cannot start the Security Center Service". There is an icon on the bottom of my screen of windows security alert, I don't know if my computer has a virus, but I scan my Norton Antivirus full of the online system, but it has not detected any viruses. I hope someone can help me with my computer. It will be much appreciated.
No, only the security accounts manager isn't Security Center.
The next method is to restore the missing Security Center service.
http://www.Winhelponline.com/temp/W7-wscsvc.zip
Unzip the REG file and then run it.
Then restart.
See if this will help restore Security Center application Services.
