  Problem solved!  An external hard drive, powered by a separate power supply, was not turned on, but it was plugged into a USB port. When the computer "seen" this cross-town 'dead', he just stop - but no message appears problem.

  The good part?  Vaced out all the dust and replace the bios battery.  [I'm good for at least another 2 years;-]

  You should not have problems with a PC this new.
  
  My suggestion is that you contact the HP customer support to see about maintenance and options at your disposal under warranty replacement.  If HP is unable to repair it, then you should be able to insist on a replacement - no charge!

• Speckled screen then freeze it

  A month ago I started having problems with my Vista Ultimate computer.  First, the computer stopped to recognize the WiFi.  I had to continue to do a system restore to a point before some updates of Windows. This issue seems to have resolved itself, but now a new problem arises.
  From two days ago, I'll work on my computer and I'll suddenly see a speckled (very small boxes in different colors... red, green and blue I think) and the computer crashes. The first time, a first restart attempt led to a black screen that won't go away. After several attempts and a start-up check the computer booted and worked very well. The computer was fine when I started the next day. Later that evening (and after another startup), he does the same thing again... speckled screen and then nothing. Startup auditor could not fix it, but after a reboot, it was fine. This morning, the problem happens again. I run a disk check now, but everyone sees this kind of problem?

  Looks from material to me, if you really tried in high and recovered your system. Another Advisor would be to update your drivers or try to clean boot if not then it's certainly the hardware problem.

  Hello. The game starts, the opening video begins to wildly jump (video and audio sequences like a broken record), then it freezes completely. Finally, it blocks on the desktop so I leave it alone. I thought it was my copy (we just bought ultimate) so I installed our old original drive, and he did the same thing. This is a new pc, so I can't imagine what the problem is.   CPU Sempron tested and passed and 3072 MB of RAM and the HP DDVDW disc.

  Next: "Testing: path of the boot!" WARNING - BIOHD-2 error code.   WARNING: no hard drive detected ", followed by proposals to check the cables, etc.."

  Also shown: "NVIDEA Boot Agent 249.0542?

  I opened the system unit and disconnected - reconnected the two connectors on the h/d.  checked sound & vibration watch Variator is running.

  Also checked "Boot Device Priority:

  1 > [CD-ROM Group]-[HP DDVDW TS-H653R]

  2nd > [Hard Drive Group]-[not installed]?

  3rd > [group floppy]-[not installed]

  4th > [group of network boot]-[NVIDIA boot agent]

  Found a few useful tips on PC Help Forum, but advice required to enter the BIOS Setup, and I have not found a way to get into that.  Some of the function keys don't seem to work.  ????

  Would be very happy to suggest further repair attempts.

  VIC, welcome to the forum.

  Normally, the BIOHD-2 error message indicates that the hard drive has failed.  Here's a guide to help you run the SMART for the reader of the BIOS test.  If you get a similar error message, you must replace the hard drive.  Also, here is a guide to help the recovery of the system once the drive has been replaced.

  I can't say 100% that my problems are related to the last update, but I thought I'd ask.

  I've updated about 4 or 5 days ago, and although the questions did not begin immediately, they start after the update. It should be noted that I have never had issues like this before.

  I have a mid-2011, 21.5 "iMac. When I upgraded from Yosemite to El Capitan, I got the white screen of death on restart. I saved time machine, reinstalled, and everything was fine. When I did the update niveau.1, the same has happened (white screen, then backup, and then reinstall) and now, last night, after le.2 upgraded the same story happened.

  When I run on the armored white mac disk utility, it shows all the hard drive as being full of the 'other', which is certainly not, but the drive is labeled as OK.

  Before I try reinstall, I want to know: what am I doing wrong? I'm upgrading via the App Store, I don't have a hackintosh, no illegal absurdity, etc.. But this problem is boring and repetitive, so I figure there must be something I do. Any thoughts?

  Turn off the power, power back on and press F12 - run the Dell diagnostics.  If there is still no image on an internal monitor, is one on an external?

  I have a Toshiba Satellite P100 (PSPA6A) and am running Windows XP on it. Last month, I had a problem with my computer when the screen becomes white, then freezes and restarts itself.

  I took it to a computer store to get the snippet, but they couldn't find anything wrong with it. I tried to find if all programs are at the origin of this problem but I have not been able to find. My computer can be on for 10 h, before this occurs, and it can be on for 5 minutes before this problem occurs. It can also occur during the loading screen before reaching the windows welcome screen. If it helps, there is a slight delay when the screen becomes white and when it's freezing (I have music in the background several times where the music was still playing for a few seconds while the screen was white, and then it froze and rebooted).

  Have you checked the RAM yourself using Memtest86 as resident suggested? I mean Memtest86 is really great to test the RAM and if there is a problem, Memtest86 should prove.

  In addition I recommend you to check the HARD drive. Therefore, you can use Drive Fitness Test and Google is your friend to find.
  This program is also free.

  In the worst cases, you should go to an authorized service provider. Maybe it of a problem of the motherboard or processor, and this can be checked by a technician of the laptop.
