Why a folder on my C: drive is launched as access denied when I try to open it?

I was my data through an old computer to a new computer, and one of the folders on the old computer has developed as 'access denied '.  I was not able to determine WHY he is inaccessible or correct the problem.

His is not entirely clear if you are referring to a file on the old PC or one that you have created on the new PC when copying data, and if that is the case where exactly you copied the data?

  • Why am I suddenly getting "Access denied" when I try to enter text in a form? Windows 7, drive XI

I have used Adobe Reader for many years and analyze forms in my computer so that I can fill them with the text. I started suddenly get access denied pop up when I try to do. Does anyone have any ideas as to why or how to fix?

  • Access denied when you try to edit the C: program files / drive

I'm trying to use PHP on my computer. By following the instructions during the installation an 'access denied' pop up appears whenever I try to save changes

    Hi JlaHills,

Make sure that you are logged as administrator and check if you are faced with the question.

Try to take possession of a disc and check whether the problem is resolved.

To take ownership of a drive:

    1. click on the drive that you want to take control and then click Properties.
    2. click on the Security tab, click Advanced, and then click the owner tab.
    3. click on modify.  If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
    4. click on the name of the person you want to give to the property.
    5. If you want this person to be the owner of the files and subfolders in this folder, select the Replace owner of subcontainers and objects to check.
    6. click on OK.

If this does not work, I suggest you to activate the administrator account built in and check if it works.

An administrator account is a user account which allows you to make changes that will affect other users. Administrators can change security settings, install software and hardware, and access all files on the computer. Administrators can also make changes to other user accounts.

If you are logged in as administrator, then I suggest you turn on the built in user account and check if it works.

In Windows Vista, the built-in Administrator account is disabled by default. In previous versions of Windows, an administrator account was created automatically during Out-of-Box-Experience (OOBE) with a blank password.

An account administrator with a blank password is a security risk. To better protect the system, the built-in Administrator account is disabled by default in all new installations and upgrades of Windows Vista.

HOW to: Enable the build-in the administrator account in Windows Vista

  • Access denied when you try to access the files on the second hard drive.

I have a new desktop computer with Windows 8.1 pre-installed on it. I am trying to transfer files from the old disk (Win XP) via a drive Bay and I get an error saying "you not currently have permission to access this folder." I tried right click, go to security and changes in the ownership of the folder, but I can not yet move to the new drive. I have access to one of the folders, but it does not give me access to their subfolders. It also gives me an error when I try to "replace all entries authorization child object with entries permissions inheritable of this object.

When I googled for a solution the only answer I found is to use the Security tab. If anyone has any ideas I could try, I would be very grateful.

In fact, I solved it. I have rebuilt the old XP computer and transfer files with a USB key. It was not exactly the solution I was looking for, but it worked.

  • Access denied when you try to access the folder CSC (location of offline files)

Original title: instead of playing the files offline.

I have installation folder for a user on the windows machine offline sync with an external drive of SAN. I noticed that the files do not synchronize with the SAN drive, so I changed the location to another drive of SAN. I disconnect old SAN offline synchronization and redirect the folder to the new SAN disk. I realized that he is a lot of files don't not sync from the old drive to SAN. but he was already disconnected. How can I find these files. I couldn't access the CSC folder in windows. Access denied even though I have the administrator rights on the machine.

    Help, please.

This is the location of the file for files Offin on Windows 7. C:\windows\CSC

Make sure you have full rights to the folder to access the files. If this isn't the case, follow the steps in http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc753659.aspx to take possession of the file and the content it contains.

I would also advise to go through http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-files/offline-files-access-is-denied/b1adc231-a4c2-4a5b-80b8-93269851febf for a possible solution.

  • Error access denied when you try to compress a drive

Recently, I made an installation of Windows 7 Home Premium on a small SSD. In order to save space on the SSD drive, I tried to compress the drive. However, when the file in C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\ink\Alphabet.xml I received an access denied message. When I look at the permissions of the "ink" folder, I see that administrators, creator owner, and system having NO right on the record either. Users have Read & Execute, display the contents of the folder and read permissions. The only other group with access is trusted installer with the rights of contents of folder list.

A random sampling of the files in the program files and the structure of the Program files (x 86) have similar permissions across, and I am also able to compress most of these files. I know that I was able to compress drives together before in Win7. What is wrong here? My user account is a member of the Administrators group.

    Thanks for the reply.

I'm sorry to know that the proposed methods previously has not helped.

I would like to inform you that you cannot compress locate some files in C: drive because some system files are currently in use by the operating system. However, it is not recommended to compress the C: drive as it can make the System unstable. Also if Bootmgr is compressed you will not be able to start the computer.

In addition, if you need more space on the C: drive, you can use the disk cleanup utility.
    Reference:
    Delete files using disk cleanup
Note: This removes temporary files, empty the Recycle Bin, and removes a variety of file system and other items that you no longer need.
Note: When you perform the system restore to restore the computer to a previous state, programs and updates that you have installed are removed.

    Thank you.

NOT COOL AT ALL! lol - if I use an external USB DISK (NTFS FORMAT).

Windows XP Home Edition recognizes the letter of the root as E:

I have a folder called "MY STUFF" - on the inside, there are a few individually labeled folders my videos, music, files, text, programs, etc.

OH NO.! My entire music collection, collection of movies, etc.

I ve tried ALL, DISK CHECK, the SYSTEM RESTORE, even reinstalled windows... NOTHING WORKS.

  • Drive access denied when opening PDF files

I noticed this on adobe Reader Versions XI and DC. What happens is whenever someone tries to open a pdf file that has name of file path is greater than 217 characters they will receive the error 'Access denied.' rename the file or move it to a path that has character < = 216 characters users can then open. If you try to save to the location it will appear to have saved, will throw any errors, does not save everything simply.

I upgraded the drive to the new generation of DC. Tested on a new installation of Windows 8.1, I had at my disposal and tested it on all computers 15ish which give the same result. With different PDF documents are both on the internet and made by me using
    Acrobat.

    A few notes.

This only happens on the network drives.

I have access to all the locations of readers, that I tested.

I had another user test this thus giving the same results.

If I add my UNC path name of the file instead of drive letters, the amount is greater than 254.

For example, if the path of the file is H:\My network Drive\Somearbitraryfolders\filename_Greaterthan217.pdf Its always less than the 254 that windows gives to us, but if I add my \\domain\public\drivename\Somearbitraryfolders\filename_Greaterthan217.pdf UNC path so this eqauls more than 254.

So even if I can move files to this location by going through drive letters, stick them in, all that Jazz. As the reader is concerned it is the limit of windows, and may not be able to do something with it.

If the Player looks at the UNC path instead of drive letters?

If so is there a way for him to watch the drive letters?

A quick edit. I just found this

Known issues | Acrobat DC, CD player

Problem: error access denied when you try to open the PDF file of the symlink via UNC path [3844582]

So, I'm going to assume that the answer to my question is no. All that I can do is hope for a update or tell my users not to do ridiculously long paths.

    Hello

What have you tried so far?

Can you try reinstalling Firefox? Uninstall it from your control panel > programs and features/add / remove programs (if you want to keep your bookmarks and other information, not deletion of personal information). After uninstallation, delete the Mozilla Firefox folder to remove the remnants of files damaged uninstallation (your profile is in a different location, so will not be affected by the present):

    • (installation of 32-bit) C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox
    • (installation of 64-bit) C:\Program Files (x 86) \Mozilla Firefox

Download and reinstall the latest version:
