Why I can't in my startup folder?

Windows 7 is driving me crazy...

When certain programs are installed, they automatically add a shortcut to the startup folder. I am the sole owner of this computer and am the administrator, but am not allowed access to the startup folder. When I go to permissions, it shows that I have total control, but I can't in your startup folder to remove the programs that automatically start running at startup... they are programs access occasionally and not must not be running in the background.

The error I get is: "you have been denied access to this folder."

In fire happens? How to do this? I need to access everything on my computer... it's a personal computer in my house and I am the only man who lives here.

All the while that I messed around trying to understand this crappy little computer, I bought just trying to function while I installed a new motherboard and the hard drive of my main computer, I could have built 3 computers from scratch.

Why am I not authorized competition control of my computer when I State permissions full control of him?

Thanks in advance for any help you can give. Windows seems to get worse with every edition since XP. Fortunately, I missed Vista, when I bought my last computer I was able to downgrade from Vista to XP... but it seems if it must be my backup computer, I need help because he won't let me do anything I'm used to doing.

Can someone help me?

Tatezi

Which is why when I clicked on the shortcut to settings & Documents and even the local settings shortcut I got access denied. It starts to come together for me.

With your help, I'm starting to find my way in the fog that this computer had me in since I brought home. Course I had spent the time to rebuild my main machine I spent trying to learn my way around Win7, I'd be in business with XP again. That became a challenge for me, so I'll probably continue to dig around in the bowels of Win7 until I have it down pat.

Once again, I appreciate all the help you gave me.

I keep my contacts in Windows Contacts, divided into folders named category.  In the past, I was able to press the button "New folder" to create a new folder, and then rename the folder.  Now, I can create a new folder, but Windows doesn't allow me the no - name.  As soon as I type the name of the new folder and press ENTER, it goes back on behalf of the "new folder". Can someone explain what happened?

If possible, although I honestly don't see how the shortcut should influence.  Try this, just delete your shortcut, then take the icon on the left side of the address bar of the 'work' contacts folder and drag your desktop and drop it.  This example is part of a control panel, but it works the same:

    Why...

Because it's a name "reserved".  It stands for "console," i.e. the keyboard.

    Hello

Many programs have their choice as to if you want to start at startup or not.

You would normally open the program > tools > Options > General etc. > uncheck the box "Run at Windows startup" or words like that.

And you can take them out of boot using one of the following two methods:

"How to use MSCONFIG in Windows Vista"

    http://netsquirrel.com/Msconfig/msconfig_vista.html

Or the program Autoruns for FREE:

  • What is "c: / program hidden folder files/Windows apps and why I can't access it?"

    Hey there,

Make certain to play and ran through the hidden folder mentioned in the title. There is one account of course on our Surface, full administrator access and I was wondering what it is and why I can't access it. When I try to access the folder, I get the following:

"You don't have currently not allowed access to this folder. Click on continue permanent access to this folder. »

Then, like a good boy, I click on continue and...

"You have been denied permission to access this folder."

But wait... I can click on a link hyper to the Security tab, Ok...

"You must have read permissions to view the properties of this object. Click Advanced to continue. »

    Don't panic!

"You must have read permissions to view the properties of this object. Click on continue retrying with administrative permissions. »

    Okey Dokey!

Takes me of course to features advanced security where it is said the owner of the folder is "Trusted Installer" and "directors" shows correctly with the settings read and execute access to this folder, subfolders and files.

Can someone please clarify what this file is for and why there is a folder on my RT Surface that I can't access?

    To do this >

Open CMD as mentioned above write this >

    TAKEOWN /F "C:\Program Files\WindowsApps" r d Y

(Whit quote... better to copy paste... only he)

that way, you'll see hundreds >

Success: the file (or folder): XXX blah blah blah

    and wait, it stops.

    then again type this >

    ICACLS "C:\Program Files\WindowsApps" / grant administrators: F/t

You may see nothing... a moment... then... .boooooom :D

After that, you will see something like: the files successfully treated XXXXX; Treatment failure 0 files

If its exactly like this "failed processing 0 files" then your done good... and go have fun

Thanks to Lydia Rohit... I just corrected the mistake on his part (cuz paths of Pentecost of spaces need quotes)

(After having done all that, you cannot get change permissions... fix too copy the file in the other place, modify, delete the first file and then add your file modified in the folder)

  • Why introduce items in the startup folder NOT?

Really, I want to like Windows 8, but I have a few problems.

I did a full install of the operating system and tries to run a trio of start-up applications. These applications are called Sickbeard, sabnzbd + and CouchPotato. They worked without problem on Windows 7, so I installed them exactly the same way for Win8. They are installed in the startup folder, but when I restart my computer, these applications fail to run and I have to manually click twice on them, how everything works well. I even had their value "run as administrator", but no matter what, they never perform to restart without my help. Help!

Also, my copy of Photoshop Elements 10 I bought, didn't seem is not consistent. I opened a photo, began publishing, has opened another photo for editing as well and was unable to choose the editing tools. Maybe that's more a problem with Adobe, but nevertheless, I assumed that software that works under Windows 7 would work the same on Windows 8.

In my base of 8.1 Win I don't have this option.

I made this change, in this way:

    1. Control Panel > user accounts > change user account control settings > never notify
    2. Run > RegEdit:
Set the key to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE-SOFTWARE-Microsoft-Windows-CurrentVersion------policies------system------EnableLUA to 0.
On this option read about it here: http://superuser.com/a/609356/392883

  • Why I can't boot from a USB?

    Hello

Why I can't boot from a USB?   I'm looking to replace a failed hard drive in a Mac Mini 2010. I replaced the hard drive without difficulty.

I have a USB flash drive from known good 10.10.5 with an Installer (tested) well known about it.   I press the power switch, as soon as the startup chime plays, I press the Option (Alt) key.

One of the two following situations occurs. Sometimes, I have a small screen asking me to enter my password Wi - Fi. I get my password and nothing else happens. Sometimes, I get a flashing "?" on a file folder.  In my view, this indicates that the computer cannot find a bootable disc. I've tried resetting the PRAM, but I do not have the sound of the double ring that I was expecting.

Once a Mac is longer than 4 years, his PRAM Battery should replace before resetting the PRAM actually works.

Is this USB Flash drive "slipstreamed.  It works on any other older than 10.10.5 Mac?

What is a copy from another Mac or Mac Mini itself 10.10.5 clone?

Plug you directly into the USB port of the Mac Mini, or using a hub which is powered wall?

  • Why don't Finder displays the clear folder structure

    Hi all

    A slight frustration first rant

I'm new to the operating system OS.

I was Windows my whole life. I never thought it is particularly bright, but at least it was simple.

I am totally baffled by the logic used in Apple OS X.

Maybe you experienced users think nothing of him, but I think it's bordering on the nuts.

Simple things are very difficult to do for a new user.

I used Mac back in the 80s and 90s and what is wonderful about them is their ease of use.

Same thing with the iPhone and the iPad.

What is so obtuse to OS X.

I have a mouse with no left click (I have to hold a button left click -?)

    It reminds me of iTunes.

The most difficult thing in iTunes is to put the songs you want on your phone - surely, it should be the best thing to do.

In any case, my apologies for the mug shot but his quite unexpected summer how heavy OS X is.

    My question

I can use the finder to find my photos but it brings me to the folder that its in. He brings me just the file.

    Macintosh HD/users/fergalocallaghan/pictures/2016/2016-05-07

Why can't I find the folder itself?

I can find it with applications without problem, but not directly in Finder.

Why pictures do not appear as one of the options on the left of the screen

Maybe it's a simple thing to do but no instructions that I try to follow seems to make assumptions, you already know what you're doing.

    It is a common

To change the items in your sidebar, choose Finder > Preferences in the Finder menu bar, click on the box at the top of the preferences window

I can't find anything 'preferences' on the Finder to go to screen. If it exists, it seems hidden on my current set up.

All I want to do is to copy all photos of the 2016-05-07 file to a memory stick.

In windows, this operation every 5 seconds. A three year old could escape.

On this OS hidden somewhere and completely intuitive to find.

Can someone give me some tips?

I want to love, but it's so hard - it's a beautiful machine but totally let down by its operating system.
