Why is not projected my midlet application icon?

I wore my Java app Astral effects of a Blackberry Midlet project. The update went really smooth, with the exception of the application icon. I can't get my icon is visible, the default icon is always shown in the Simulator. I have read through the forum and followed all the advice, but the icon is still not visible.

I use a 80 * 80 pixels PNG image which is 15Kbyte. I add the file to the project. I then click on properties of this file and choose "use as the application icon. I have cleaned and rebuilt the project and tested with several photos of the icon, but the default icon is always shown. What can I do to get my icon image to display instead?

I got it working now. I didn't write any name for the midlet class in "Properties". I could see the icon when I wrote the name of the midlet here class.

  • the MIDlet application icon does not appear

    Hi all

I have a midlet application on my BlackBerry project.

(I use the BB project because some improvements only works on BB).

I use Eclipse 3.4 and BB JDE 4.5.

My icon is the res folder (source folder) on the project.

Why does not display the icon of the application?

I use all of this step, but the icon still does not display:

    1. project-> properties-> BlackBerry Project Properties-> tab "resources"-> Add (icon files textbox)

    2 MIDlet-1: MidletName, / appicon.jpg, MidletJava

are all the work of setting just for UIApplication?

    Thanks in advance.

    =)

    ----------------------------------------------------------------

    my progress:

I created a simple project, I filled all the settings on the Blackberry project properties.

    and it works:

-icon show as correctly on the tab "resources"-> icons files

-application name as well as in the general tab-> title

but when add third (Java Build Path-> Add library), those setting do not take effect:

    -l' icon by default BB.

-the class name = application name

so, I guess, the icon don't display correctly due to the third pary.

    can someone help me?

There is a problem in version 1.0 of the BlackBerry Java plug-in for Eclipse that prevents MIDlets icon changes to take effect.  Work around this is to recreate the project in a new workspace.

Alternatively, you can upgrade to Eclipse 3.5 release and use the 1.1.2 version of the BlackBerry Java plug-in for Eclipse, which has the fix for this issue.

  • Why not show 16-bit application icons upward from Windows Vista?

Here's something that was so irritating since Windows Vista. I never solved the problem, but had to use a workaround by extracting a program's icon while running the extraction Windows XP programs, then using that ico file in any shortcuts to different 16-bit programs. In other cases, I use the icon found within a 32-bit program.

Nothing seems to work when you create a link to the old DOS programs for DOS programs.

Many of these programs, I always use cannot be replaced and will be replaced for various reasons.

The problem is, whenever I try to create shortcuts to programs BACK, try to use icons in MORICONS. DLL does not work as it did in Windows XP. A similar problem occurs when you create shortcuts to 16-bit programs.

In other situations, create shortcuts to files allows to change icons, but the second that the shortcut is pointing to a program icon disappears and I get the default icon of the "white paper" on my desktop and it cannot be changed.

I thought what to do my usual solution, although it is an inconvenience, would suffice but also extract icons from 16-bit programs does not seem to work as expected in Windows 7 or in Windows Vista. The flavours of Windows and a number of programs that can be used to extract the icons give the error "the file contains no icons" when I know for a fact that the 16-bit Windows exe files contain actually icons! Windows Vista or Windows 7 can 'see' them.

Anyone experienced this and have a solution to this problem in the long term?

    Hello d. Charles Pyle,.

supported and the 16-bit icons has been removed in Windows 7. I can't work around the problem, you need to create your own icon as suggested in this post on TechNet.

My suggestion would be to send your comments to do this on Windows 7.

  • Why can not upgrade Lightroom 6 application in my applications folder?

I bought Lightroom 6 pure and simple, and it is in my applications folder.  For some reason any it will not update to 6.3 - he's stuck on 6.0.  In another contest of circumstances - it seems that Lightroom CC (2015) if poster in my creative cloud on my menu bar - do not know how this here - but it is 6.3.  I thought when I bought the perpetual license that I would be able to update the application in my folder of the application.  With the help of Mac Yosemite 10.10.5.

Any help would be greatly appreciated by clearing my confusion.

In this case, you must uninstall all versions on all drives and reinstall them.

When you install at the start, he has saved information with the system on which it is installed. Updates will use this information to determine where the application is installed and it will not change simply because you copy files to a new location (think of it the same way that Lightroom works with image files, move the file outside of Lightroom leads to the file goes missing, in this case, we have an application which has disappeared). Reinstall will it clear up.

You can reinstall it from this link: Download Photoshop Lightroom

  • The application icon to convert MIDLet

    Hello

looks like simple delivers, but might well not the answer.

    Here's the deal.

    1. building J2ME app (on NetBeans) - JAR/JAD files.

    2. create JDE project based on these files.

    3. Add the PNG (48 x 48) file to the project in the Application icon.

4 start application on the Simulator, but the icon by default one.

    No reason why?

BTW, app works OK, just the wrong icon.

    Thank you.

OK, the question is closed, the solution has already been spoken on this forum.

    Just fill most important:

1 icon file must be in the same folder with the file of the Cod .

    2. Add manually the name of the icon to the JAD file as:

    MIDlet-1: myApp, myIcon.png, myApp

  • How not to display the item to delete when an application icon is selected

Menu items should be indicated when the application icon is selected and you click on the menu button. The delete element will be shown for some application and application is deleted after selecting the element removed. But for some applications, delete it the article does not appear when the application icon is selected and you click on the menu button. We want to protect our application which cannot be deleted when our application icon is selected and you click on the menu button.

Who knows how do not show don't delete the article when an application icon is selected?

Some applications that are part of the core OS can not be removed in this way (for example, help).  This applies however to Facebook.  He could have been driven out of your BES.

There is no way to remove the delete option for a third-party application other than marking as required and pushing the BES.

  • Size of the application icon... Home screen will not use the right one. Help!

I thought I could include different sizes of icons (ie. 48 x 48, 32 x 32, etc.) and the camera choose the size of the device or the theme-appropriate application icons. Of course, this isn't the case. So, how do you get the device to use the right size for the theme icon?

For example, I have a Verizon 8330 (curve) and the theme of Verizon uses sizes 48 x 48 icons. If I use a size of 48 x 48 icon to my app, it looks great. However, if I change the theme of one of the standard BB Dimension themes, it will be small scale my icon 48 x 48, 32 x 32, which seems quite bad. Why does not he chooses the icon size 32 x 32 I understand? How can I provide both sizes and have it use the correct size according to the theme? It looks even worse when I use 32 x 32 and he then it extends to 48 x 48. Help!

You'll have to do it by programming it your application startup.  You can use the following code to get the width and height of the icon:

    int height = net.rim.blackberry.api.homescreen.HomeScreen.getPreferredIconHeight();
    int width = net.rim.blackberry.api.homescreen.HomeScreen.getPreferredIconWidth();

Then set the using the appropriate icon:

    net.rim.blackberry.api.homescreen.HomeScreen.updateIcon( icon );

  • The application icon does not

The application icon does not appear on the home screen.  I managed to deploy to using javaloader and Office Manager because it comes in Options-> advanced-> Applications, and I am able to uninstall it via Desktop Manager. It is only fair that the icon does not appear.

If it's important, I'm using controlled BlackBerry API.  I received and installed the keys with success.

    Any ideas?

Edit: I use the Eclipse Plugin Windows XP, OS 4.5

I don't know what the problem was, but I solved it.  I just created a new project of BB starting from zero and copy and pasted my code and rebuilt.  Works fine now.

  • The application icon has disappeared/not installed

    Hello

    I use the BlackBerry Storm.

When using the Eclipse Plugin and mark my project as autostart and addition of an icon of the application, the application is started automatically and I can reach it using the task switch option, but the icon of the application could not be found in the download folder.

But if I do not use the automatic startup option, my application icon is right there in the download folder.

(But I have to use an autostart).

    I change all the themes.

You have an idea or any important information missing?

    Thank you.

Can you confirm that you do not check "system module" when you check the autostart?  As you see it on the Simulator or the real device?

Save and exit. Now on your home screen, press "O".  After that, the General menu options will come.  Choose the option 'theme' and choose a different theme or return to the default value.  This should be all your application icons to reappear.  After doing all this make sure you go back to reset the "dial" since the homescreen on 'yes '.  I hope it works for you.
