  • Even after running in safe mode, Firefox is too slow, why?

I use the latest version of Firefox 22.
I tried running in Mode safe
I'm running on Vista Home 32 bit, 2 GB RAM
It seems to use an average of at least 200 MB of memory when not in Safe Mode
However, he always uses loads of memory and CPU - two times more than Internet Explorer.
I don't know why, but I have to leave Firefox if it continues, as too much for my PC.

It does not hurt to do the following (apologies, if already done):

    1 plugin Check:

Please check if all your plugins are up to date. To do this, go to the Mozilla Plugin Check site.

Once you are there, the site will check if all your plugins have the latest versions.
If you see in the list of plugins that have a yellow button to update or a red button update now , please put to update these immediately.

To do this, click each red or yellow button. Then you should see a site that allows you to download the latest version. Double-click the downloaded file to start the installation and follow the steps in the installation process.

  • Why my computer keep starting in safe mode

Why my computer keep starting in safe mode, it doesn't let me do system restore and health comes back fine but it says I have hardware or network problems

Well, to prevent to load in safe mode, you should be able to press F8 when your computer starts, then select start windows normally. If it says that you have hardware problems or network you can or you can't. If you start windows normally and nothing seems wrong, you can start the Device Manager to check the hardware and just go on the internet to see if the network is fine. To enter the Device Manager, right click on my computer, then select Properties, then on the new close window left click Device Manager.

    Hello

Looks like you're in XP compatibility mode, which is fine.

Make older programs in this version of Windows (Windows 7)
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/make-older-programs-run-in-this-version-of-Windows

Have you tried right clicking on the shortcut to the program or the .exe and select "Run As Administrator"? Perform, even if your user name is an administrator. Try right click on the actual Setup.exe and choosing the option "Run As Administrator"? Perform, even if your user name is an administrator.

  • I didn't like the default theme that the police is fuzz if I run in safe mode, that they look much better - how to fix this permenantly

Firefox 3 has been great and I liked the new features of firefox 4, but the default theme is bad or not good for my PC is Windows 7 Prof I added new themes and changed the graphics card no fixed and when I tried safe mode, it worked like charm, it's really nice so I would like to know how to make the change permanent.

This is probably due to hardware acceleration. Safe mode disables hardware acceleration and hardware acceleration changes the appearance of fonts.

To disable hardware acceleration, open the Options dialog box, go to the advanced Panel, then select the general tab uncheck the setting "use hardware acceleration when available.

  • window repair virus won't let me not even run in safe mode system restore.

original title: window repair virus won't let me not even run in safe mode system restore.  What should I do now?

Research on the web.  Not far from the computer.  Computer is speaking.  Windows repair itself downloaded to my computer XP Prof  Apparently erased all programs, all about office except explore and recycle bin.  Computer restarted in safe mode to do a system restore to an earlier date to wipe clear out of the memory of the computer.  Has started the system restore, you click on a date, click, hourglass and then nothing.  No message, nothing.  Click Next again and still nothing.  Download Security Essentials.  Took several attempts so that it can be updated.  Computer turns off.  EU Security Essentials uninstall and reinstall.  Finally updated.  I hope this works!

Hi, John. I had to deal with this virus of the Windows repair. I have had pretty good luck (fingers crossed anyway) by using the removal guide posted on bleepingcomputer.com.

    http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/virus-removal/remove-Windows-repair

They have a program called rkill download that stops all the running processes. Allows you to prevent the virus from Windows repair. It will give you a file log and show you things that stop you. Write those down.

I had the same problem you had with not be able to update Malwarebytes. I would like to run rkill, run Malwarebytes, and then reboot and repair Windows would jump to the top. On the third try, I didn't restart after running rkill and Malwarebytes. Instead, I searched for the files that rkill to stop (and I wrote down) and remove them manually from the C drive. Also, I have downloaded and run CCleaner which has removed registry now dead keys associated with the repair of Windows virus in the registry.

    CCleaner: http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner

Then I rebooted. That seemed to do the trick: I was able to update Malwarebytes again. I ran the program display offers the site computer network, and which unhid all files that was hiding the Windows repair virus.

Again seems to work... thought it might be of help to you as well! Good luck!

  • I get an Fatal Exception on start up error, and I can only run in safe mode on my dv6

I get an Fatal Exception on start up error and I can only run in safe mode on my dv6, can someone please help?  I don't really want to reset to the factory settings I have to reinstall everything.  I tried to go back through the system restore, but it keeps telling me that there is no restore point?  I'm running Windows7 64 bit OS

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Hazel,

Start in Safe Mode, open windows control panel, open programs and features and uninstall Comodo Firewall (this will probably be listed as Comodo Internet Security depending on the version).

Once completed, restart the laptop in Safe Mode .

As before, open all programs, open accessories, right-click on command prompt and select "run as Administrator".  In the command prompt type the following commands and press enter after each one.

Drivers CD                (Note that there is a space between cd and drivers)

del cumon.sys           (Note that there is a space between the led and cumon.sys)

    output

NOTE: If you get an error after entering del cumon.sys as the "specified path cannot be fouund", it's Ok.

Restart the computer and see if Windows starts normally.

    Kind regards

The only way to make it go away and start firefox in safe mode.

Safe mode disables extensions in Firefox 4, and disables hardware acceleration.

If disable hardware acceleration works then check if there is an update available for your graphics display driver.

  • regcure running in safe mode

Okay... my father has a laptop and he has accidentally deleted a DLL... now when it goes to start the computer nothing shows but an error screen and when you click on one of the two options on the error report it shuts down the computer... so we try to run regcure in safemode, but screen is medium to large... no idea how to adjust the size of the screen of regcure or run the scan regcure in the command prompt? Thank you for taking the time to read this =)... it's a windows xp

You have posted in forum for Windows Vista, but since you are here we will address the issue.

    1. never, never use a type program "cleaner" registry such as RegCure. Get rid of it as soon as POSSIBLE. More information on why not to use the 'fixers' register here:
    http://aumha.NET/viewtopic.php?t=28099

    2. what .dll your father has deleted? It is important to know if it deleted what is malicious software or it has deleted a Windows system file.

    3. If it was a file system, since you can get safe mode, you can try:

running system restore. Start > all programs > Accessories > system tools > system restore. "Restore my computer to an earlier time."
    b. or if the system restore does not work, start > run > sfc/scannow [OK]

Please post back with the file name of your deleted and this dad you know the State of virus/malware from the laptop so that we can move forward with troubleshooting. Don't use RegCure or there may be no hope of getting the system of your dad back intact.

Its data is backed up? If this isn't the case, it should do before anything else. Since it can get Safe Mode, it can copy data on an external hard drive or USB key to fix it before the additional work is done. MS - MVP - Elephant Boy computers - don't panic!

  • where can I find the dialog box run in safe mode with networking

I can't run in normal mode, safe mode with networking is the best I can do. When I start in reg mode I get Rainbow lines? How can I fix it?

    Hello

'Rainbow' on your screen lines is a sign of a corrupted graphics driver or graphics hardware fault

If gettting the latest graphics drivers from the manufacturer does not resolve the problem contact the manufacturer of the computer, if under warranty

If it is under warranty, contact a local reputable computer repair store
