Win 7 host dies when the virtualization mode is turned on

Hello

My Win 7 Prof x 64 going nuts when I install VMware Player 3.0.0 - 203739 (VMP) AND activate the virtualization mode in the BIOS. By going nuts, I mean it seems to start correctly and asks me to sign in but then can't I login my password or fingerprint reader: he seems to accept the credentials, but then the login page stays there forever (but I can press the power button and then it stops with proper gratitude with the screen messages or I can still pass the keyboard with alt-shift mapping (, but not ask for password or any useful interaction). I have not found any solution besides a system restore (to a point before the installation of VMP) so that I can connect to the computer again. Even if I turn off virtualization in the BIOS, it is too late, I do the system restore, or I will never go to my office. At least, the system restore works reliably (I had to do a couple of times while experimentation).

The strange thing is that I have absolutely nothing like that if I use VMP without virtualization. Never I have a problem when I turn on the virtualization mode in the BIOS while VMP is not installed. It doesn't matter that I have install VMP with or without virtualization mode: when I reboot when both of them are there, it's over.

A strange thing that I observed during the restoration of the system is an update "critical" appears also in the list of programs to be affected by restoring the system (and it gets returned when restoring). I think he has to do something with my problem since this update does not appear when I install and run VMP without virtualization. And this update not presents itself, that is, when I went on the virtualization mode when VMP has not been installed. Unfortunately, I have not studied this "critical" update further (because it appears as if I can not connect - but so important in order to solve this problem, I might try mode windows safe).

All this runs on a laptop HP 8530w, with Win7Pro and the HP drivers by myself. I have not discovered any other malfunction. As the guest operating system, I installed 32 bit Ubuntu (it worked very well, contacted the host, consulted the USB ports, etc.), and it was when I tried to install the 64-bit version that VMP was asked to turn on virtualization (as it is disabled in the BIOS by default). Of course, I don't think that the guest OS has nothing to do with this problem because it doesn't not even begin.

I can't live without virtualization / x 64 but I don't like these mysteries...

Similar observations? Or ideas?

Thanks in advance for any suggestion,

KÖKAR

ISO has never reported the following?

CPU : feature MSR control is unlocked!

If this isn't the case, then activating/deactivating VT in the BIOS has no effect on what the VMware driver done at startup.

Looks like your BIOS behaves exactly as expected to with regard to empowerment VT.  Curiously, however, your vmware.log file shows that it contains the definition a little reserved in the feature control MSR, and I can't even guess what that's done.  Still, I have to wonder if the appearance of VT for this failure is a red herring.  There has been some fatal interactions with ProtectTools in the past, and maybe it's just a new manifestation of old problems.

You can try this:

1. enable VT in the BIOS.

2 install the player.

3. restart in Safe Mode.

4. under Control Panel-> administration-> Services tools, change VMware authorization Service AutoStart for delayed start.

5 reset.

Thank you!

Is a tab as a separate instance of the VM when privacy mode is enabled? Independent 3rd party cookies goes out. (They are). This type of behaviour can be turned on?

In private browsing mode all cookies settings are the same as in normal mode, so all open tabs and windows share the same set of cookies.

The only difference is that you do not have access to cookies created in normal mode (you get a new set) and the session mode PB cookies are never saved on disk and are deleted when the end of this session of PB.

There are extensions that allow obtaining a whole independent cookies, drank, I don't know how they work in mode of PB.

  • How can I change the video display Mode when the monitor mode not supported?

While creating my new monitor, I changed the computer video display mode at 120 Hz by accident.  Now I see something on the monitor other than the words not taken in CHARGE the MODE.

My system is a new HP Pavilion p7-1423W running Windows 8.1 with Intel i5-2320 3 ghz

I tried the start mode by pressing ESC on power but do not help the startup options.  And the just F11 menu option makes the startup screen disapear and puts the monitor mode not supported.  Tapping F8 doen't work and tapping F12 just puts me in the bios menus that do not help.

How can I upgrade the video card integrated with a video mode that is supported when I can't see the screen?

I answer my own question because I found my solution, thanks to my grandson (freshman to Renselear Politech).

I shoot to buy a monitor that displays a refresh rate of 120, so I could put my rear view.

    Here is the solution.

My computer double exit DVI.  My grandson told me to connect my new monitor to the other output because the output does not get touched when I changed the original mode of production.  He has worked and is automatically selects the default monitors mode.  Then I've reconfigured the original output using the integrated display software. Solved!

  • Aero off when the external monitor is turned by Nvidia ControlPanel

Sorry, I forgot to mention my hw: Satellite a100-02 b (geforce go 7600)

.. and when I reboot Vista behaves a little bit strange.
a few seconds, everything looks ok, but then it redefines the external monitor to 16-bit color and minimum Vfrequency (60 HZ)
and a message appears that the 'Desktop Manager' was closed due to a problem.

    Maybe it's because...
    (1) it is an old CRT, not especially known (standard pnp driver)?
    (2) the ability of the graphics card vista is not sufficient in this configuration?

I heard somewhere that there is a switch in the registry, which disables the dwm.exe test, if the material is
able to support the aero technologies. What is a way to fix it?

    Hello

I read about the registry hack that allows the function Aero Vista on graphics cards that are generally not able to manage the Aero feature.
But I don t think that the modified registry key might help with this problem!

In any case, I try to understand what you were doing on the laptop
You have turned on the display on the second external monitor, then you have changed the position of the screen (you turn the display) and you tried to use the Aero on the external monitor.
    Am I wrong?

Well, what to say, it s not easy to say if she s a problem or just a limitation of Vista Aero.
I have never tested or used Aero after the display has been set at another position.

I think you should test Aero on external monitor without rotation.

  • HP laptop: photo monitor when the laptop is first turned on.

How can I change the screen image that appears when the computer is switched on initially. My computer took a picture and I can't seem to find where to change.

I have a 71 year old mother-in-law who thinks that his computer is the internet. Laughing out loud

The image you see first when you turn on your PC is the lock screen. Sign in as normal and then move on to the settings by dragging the mouse from the right, click on 'settings' and then 'change PC settings.

The next screen should come with 3 photos. T it? The top is lock screen. Left click on it and the page should change a bit. There are 5 images under your present lock screen image. You can select one of those, or click "Browse" to find another image that is on your computer to use instead.

The image that is there now is stored on your computer somewhere, find it and delete it.

I would like to know if it works.

    Hi MartinLaMarr,

    ·         What is the Blue error screen that you are talking about?

    ·         If so, have you noticed the blue screen error message?

Check to see if the following is useful.

Method 1: Unplug non-essential devices from the computer and restart the computer.

Method 2: Try to select disable automatic system failure reboot since the options of start menu advanced to know the Blue error screen.

    a. restart your computer and start pressing F8 on your keyboard. On a computer that is configured to start to multiple operating systems, you can press the F8 key when the Boot Menu appears.

    b. use the arrows to choose to turn off the automatic restart in the event of system failure in the Advanced Options of Windows Start Menu and press ENTER.

Method 3: Updated with the latest wireless drivers and other drivers of devices from the portable computer. Log in the Web of Toshiba site to do.

No reference to what could be the problem?

It seems that the problem might be related to the hardware failure and all you can do is contact the ASP in your country.
I put really know what might cause this problem but I think it could be something wrong with the motherboard

To check the device by a technician of ASP.
