Win 7 rejecting all new software as incompatible

I just bought a new computer with WINDOWS 7.  I already have a laptop.  Both machines use the same version of windows.  The new box won't let me install software.  My laptop has no such qualms.  My first message is that the software in question is not compatible with the current version of windows - obviously not true since I don't have the software on my laptop.  When I try to run the software as an administrator, Windows tells me that I need to check if the software is compatible with Win 7 premium.   Again, it is the case.  I checked almost everything in the help and online

Some people have problems with the individual software.  My problem is that win 7 64 bit rejects all the software I try to load.  Because I don't have broadband at home, the software is loaded on a USB key.

Help please.

I have to admit that this error was not related to Windows 7.  It turned out that the USB to which I was downloading my software has been altered.  Once I switched to another USB key, software installation went well.  I download my software at the local library, because Verizon WIRELESS has the download limit.  This machine is an office which is not portable, I think this problem is resolved.

    This means that you don't have WRITE permission in the destination folder.

    You should:

    1. In Lightroom, determine the exact destination folder (it is on the right side of the import dialog box under Destination)
    2. Change the permissions in your operating system on this specific file WRITE permission; OR Change the destination folder in a place where you don't have WRITE permission

    never migrate adobe software.  It must be properly installed.

    Uninstall all the programs of cc you can, clean and reinstall then by, use the CC cleaning tool to resolve installation problems. CC, CS3 - CS6

    There isn't any software owner to access the ix2.

    They run out of network/Internet protocols.

    as long as you have the IP address you can access the user interface, and as long as you map the actions you should be able to access the data.

    Hi, my machine is a touchsmart IQ 820es equipped of Vista in Spanish, I bought 8 pro victory but on the verification of the conditions weather model will take, it says there is no driver available for this product. I don't want to lose all of the bios and drivers more touch ability.  Are there ways of installing win 8 with all the necessary software.

    Disk is partitioned with backup from vista. Should I delete this and start a new installation.

    Hi stannor,

    HP likely will not win 8 drivers for your PC, but this does not mean that win 8 will not work on your PC. I have personally updated two TouchSmarts who do not ' have HP drivers and I was able to get both. Just make sure that you have just system recovery disks in case something goes wrong and you want to go back to the original software.

    If after the upgrade, you have a few driver problems, Windows 8 has a feature that creates its own driver for some devices. If the device does not work, uninstall all driver software and remove the device from Device Manager. Shut down the PC and wait 3-5 minutes. Then reboot and Windows will be attmpt to create its own driver for the device. Also, could you post your questions on the forums and we can maybe help you.

    Under XP, I could just change the 'My Documents' link on each desktop, go to the e. * instead of c *. *, but with win7?

    As a Windows Home Server and most wise OS facilities, the system drive is isolated and a drive of 2 or 3 for everything else.  Get a problem? Just restore the system drive.

    In another forum, I found the instructions to move folders of users to another drive.
    You can follow the post here. This is attributed to Jimmie R. Houts.

    Article:
    You can move the entire folder C:\Users to another drive quite easily once windows is installed:

    1. Boot from the installation media and access the command prompt (I think you need to click on fix everything first)
    2. Use Robocopy to copy C:\Users to D:\Users: robocopy c:\Users d:\Users /mir /xj
      a. /mir says robocopy to mirror directories, this will copy all files and permissions
      b. /xj is very important, it means robocopy does not follow the points of junction. If you forget this, you will have a lot of trouble.
    3. Make sure that the files copied successfully
    4. Delete c:\Users
    5. Create the junction pointing d:\Users: mklink /d c:\Users d:\Users

    That's all. I used this process for Vista RTM with no problems.

    Here's an article that explains as well. Just use robocopy instead of xcopy as it does in the article in order to avoid possible ntfs permissions problems.

    Update: because I discovered the hard way, I thought I would mention also that if you plan on switching "Program Data", or "Program Files" with this method, you will be disappointed to know that everything works as expected, but the windows updates will install is no longer. I don't know if this problem has been fixed in Win 7.

    With the foregoing, it is not a Microsoft forum or Web site so you will have to use at your own risk. I also recommend to do a system restore point before making any changes in directories that you can then go back to a previous state.

    Try a reboot.

    Make a backup using Time Machine or a cloning program, to ensure that data files can be recovered. Two backups are better than one.

    Try to set up another admin user account to see if the same problem persists. If back to my Mac is enabled in system preferences, the guest account will not work. The intention is to see if it is specific to an account or a system wide problem. This account can be deleted later.

    Isolate a problem by using a different user account

    If the problem is still there, try to start safe mode using your usual account.  Disconnect all devices except those necessary for the test. Shut down the computer and then put it up after a 10 second wait. Immediately after hearing the startup chime, hold down the SHIFT key and continue to hold it until the gray Apple icon and a progress bar appear. Startup is considerably slower than normal. This will reset some caches, forces a check for directory and disables all start-up and connection, among other things. When you restart normally, the initial restart may be slower than normal. If the system is operating normally, there may be 3rd party applications that pose a problem. Try to delete/disable the third-party applications after a reboot using the UN-Installer. For each disable/remove, you need to restart if you do them all at once.

    I doubt that you can work around it, but you can try without connecting to iTunes if you really want to step 2.

  • -win 7 64 - all versions of Firefox (tested 17-20.b) keep crashing except if used in compatibility XP sp3

    Since yesterday my firefox crashes, sometimes I have the option to reset firefox or start in safe mode. Using only the mode without failure of firefox works fine (but without plugins/addons)

    So I did a fresh reinstall (No Add ons etc) thought to solve the problem.
    I was using v19 when all this happened so retrograde to v17 hoping to fix it.
    Now, I tried to v20b v17 and all keep crashing when used "normally".
    After the new installation I have more the possibility to use the firefox safe.

    If my recollection is correct, I had a few Java Update at the time of the first collision. I also tried to use the automatic update of win7, but those failed.
    I therefore also uninstalled all java components, installed fresh firefox and tried to start firefox, before and after reinstalling java.

    in all situations is immediately crashes.

    The only way to make firefox work now uses the Windows XP (sp3) to windows compatibility.

    I have no system restore points win7, so there is no option to use.
    All other software (and browser) work very well... only firefox crashes all the time.

    How to solve this problem?
    I looked around and followed all the suggestions I found on topics somewhat related to mine, but nothing works.

    It is a strange problem. My brother has recently ordered a new laptop C850 - 14 c and it arrived by mail direct from the warehouse. When it out of the box, she had a UK Plug and a UK keyboard (we are in England), but when it was starting up it was all in Finnish! Is Windows 7 and all the software is provided. The indicator of keyboard in the status bar in down options STANDARD (for England and the Australia), FI - Finland and MK - (former Yugoslav of Macedonia).

    I was wondering if there was some sort of option 'dual boot' to start in different languages, but I did not fall on something like this in this forum. So I checked the serial number on the Support from Toshiba page, who correctly identified it as a C850 - 14 c with Windows 64-bit Home Premium edition SP1, but the language was not English but "NH".

    Someone met by this kind of thing before? He will probably have to return the machine to get a warranty replacement, but wanted to know if he was missing something obvious before he sent again.

    There is probably a mistake. Return it to the seller as soon as possible and ask for replacement.

    I have this problem since I installed new software on my Qosmio G10 yesterday. It's called Magix Video deLuxe 2005/2006. When I uninstalled the new software, Live TV still does not work.
    It only works when I have sett my computer back to the time where I have not yet installed Magix Video deLuxe. But then I can't use the new software.
    I also tried to reinstalled the video driver and the TV Tuner, but the error is still there.

    What can I do now? Please help me

    I would say that the software that you install is not compatible with Windows MCE. It is possible and the cause likley. If you have all updates for windows and Magix Video and it still does not work then the problem is with the software application and the no compatibility. The fact that it works before and after roll you back OS proves it.

    What are you actually trying to do with the Magix software that Windows can't do?
