Win7: Administrator is not correctly recognized

Hi people

I have a little problem with my Windows 7 Professional. The starting point for this were two questions:

(1) I could not create new users, as the correct files and registryentries have not been created.

(2) using the my separate administrator account (that I don't use usually) I can't change my preferences for Windows Update. It does work with the admin hidden either. I get information that "some preferences are only to be changed by administrators.

The first problem I could solve actually give everyone more rights for users / default. Not the best solution, but I guess I can live with that.

The second problem that I couldn't yet solve. I activated the hidden administrator, but still had no permission to modify preferences. If I type mmc at the command line I get an empty window now (actually got a window not empty when the hidden administrator was not activated yet, so I'm a little worried about it). The ProfileList in Windows NT folder in the registry has an entry for each user, so it seems that things were good there. Running Sfc/scannow does not return anything. Although I can't change preferences for Windows Update I always seem to be able to install programs and set other preferences using the hidden admin or my own admin user. I don't really know why this happened, but of course, I would be happy if someone could give me a clue as to how to solve this problem.

see you soon

Hello

I suggest you use the construction in the administrator to create a new administrator account and check if everything works correctly in the account.

The built-in administrator is not to work from, but to help create another account. Built-in Administrator account should not be used as a normal administrator account, it is not recommended as not all things or options will work from there.

  • Why my key USB 3 is not correctly recognized

I have a Kingston USB 3 six-month-old stick memory (which works without weird messages on my PC). From time to time (not always) when I plug it into one of the four ports USB 3 on my seven-month-old Dell Inspiron 17R IS tells me that it would work faster in a 3 USB port! Once told me ready boost would not work if I did not USB 2 or better! These messages are trash.

Dell, at HIS own expense, being a decent company, took the laptop, updated all the drivers and got rid of some echoes of startup. Next, the message appeared again. The next day, told me the ready thing kick boost (see above) and that the next day (yesterday) and today, insertion of the memory stick has produced no message.
Kingston, another good company, proposed to replace the stick without fees.
But EVERYONE seems convinced it's a Windows problem (and Microsoft does not correct problems JIB, it?)
What is going on? And how to stop these absurd messages that appear again?
    Any suggestions? Please?

Have you tried a different brand of USB 3.0 memory sticks?

If they do not work correctly then I would offer of replacement of Kingston. If the other brand is not working properly I would make sure to run all windows updates. If it still fails, you will need to contact Dell and look into getting a replacement of the system board.

  • Imaging Source DFG/SV1 acquisition card is not correctly recognized in LabVIEW 2009

I have an Imaging Source DFG/SV1 frame grabber/capture card (I think that this example uses a Bt878 chip) that I am using with LabVIEW 2009 (Fall edition 2009 academic Site license), including elements of acquisition of vision (NEITHER Vision, NOR-IMAQ (4.3) OR-IMAQdx (3.4), etc.). I have all the latest sources of imagery support drivers and software for the Board of Directors (http://www.theimagingsource.com/en_US/products/grabbers/dfgsv1/ drivers: v6.0.3.0, IC Software v2.1 and IC Imaging Control v3.1) with drivers being compatible DirectShow. The DFG/SV1 is detected in MAX under devices NOR-MAQdx / DFG/SV1 / cam0 and I can grab and preview images, however to 320 x 240 resolution, I have a higher resolution camera and know that the jury is capable of greater resolution using IC software manufacturing and also via TWAIN with ImageJ software drivers. Interesteingly, if I try to acquire an image of the card purchase using the Vision Assistant, the DFG/SV1 card is not recognized as a card acquisition, but listed under IEEE 1394 or GigE peripheral, revealing with it being direct device that I can't understand. Despite this I can acquire images, but I am limited to 320 x 240 format and change the type of image (RGB, UYVY etc) causes an error. Once again, oddly enough, I can use "enter and select mode example VI" which should only be compatible with IEEE 1394 cameras.

I'm not sure why LabVIEW is not seen this card properly, I contacted Imaging source who were also intrigued by the fact.

Any information on how this could be resolved would be much appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi OCastell,

With this Council Imaging Source, the only interface supported with drivers of NI Vision Acquisition is through using IMAQdx DirectShow interface. It is possible that their DirectShow driver does not properly support all of the capabilities of their Council. Given that ICR software and TWAIN support can be routed to a different implementation of one of the DirectShow support, you can see the different features available. Unfortunately, you probably go through Imaging Source to determine why their DirectShow driver does not support the full resolution. You can confirm that it isn't IMAQdx this limiting trying other software such as Windows NetMeeting or AMCAP DirectShow and see what capture resolutions are listed.

Because the DirectShow interface is managed by IMAQdx driver, it will not be detected as a framegrabber IMAQ using the IMAQ driver. This is expected since it fits in the same category as firewire and GigE Vision cameras and is supported with the IMAQdx driver instead.

The "Grab and select the Mode" example VI isn't really specific FireWire, although he was certainly intended to highlight the various video modes that generally expose FireWire cameras. Since the DirectShow devices are similar and have several selectable video modes, it's why he's probably working. In any case, IMAQdx abstracts usually differences between all supported camera types and in general a single VI can run on all cameras IMAQdx-taking in charge unless you rely on buses or the camera-specific features.

Regarding Vision Assistant marking the camera as 'IEEE 1394 or GigE', I think it's just an aesthetic issue (which may already be fixed in new versions). When IMAQdx was out, these are the supported types of cameras and so Vision Assistant was trying to say clearly what driver was used for the type of device. Now that IMAQdx supports a multitude of new interfaces (including DirectShow and some IP cameras) that the label is inaccurate.

Finally, looking at the specs for this capture card, it looks like a standard reference BT878/848 model and then you could try potentially replace your Imaging Source driver with one here:

    http://BTWinCap.sourceforge.NET/

I used this with a with IMAQdx BT878 capture card and can get it to capture an image full resolution (but of course, your results may vary...). It goes without saying that this solution using DirectShow is much more limited than using an industrial camera on 1394/firewire or a framegrabber IMAQ.

    Hope this helps,

    Eric

What is your laptop pre-installed with original Toshiba (factory State) recovery image?

Everything is possible and it can be faulty cam but the best way to find out is to install the OS using Toshiba HDD recovery facility. After doing this, you will have to new factory condition.
With the factory settings, each hardware component should work fine.

Do not install any additional software. After finishing OS installation webcam control functionality to see if the same thing happens again. If there is the same situation contact the closest service Toshiba and explain the situation.

  • InDesign plugin CS6 not correctly recognized by InDesign

I tried to create a simple InDesign CS6 plugin that writes to a log file, that I am opening and closing of the InDesign documents. The SDK package had the LinkWatcher example I used as a reference when creating my solution.

Currently, the problem is that I'm a "Adobe InDesign does not recognize mfindesign.pln as a plug-in" when I try to start InDesign CS6 with the plugin. Is not too useful because it won't let me know where is the problem and the compilation of the code with VS2010 gives me no errors currently.

Relevant parts of the code for https://github.com/crnd/MFIndesign/can be found. I have been using CResponder as a base class in my implementation.

Someone at - it good indications where & how to start looking for the problem? Or even better if someone can already identify the mistakes that I made.

I guess it's the problem of related resources. Check if you have the directory (MFIndesign resources) in the plugins directory

  • ThinkPad W520 Win7 Bluetooth device not recognized by Windows 7

    Hi all

Just got my Thinkpad W520 4270 CTO with bluetooth installed. It was a work station BACK I installed Win 7 x 64 Ultimate on and I finally got all the drivers installed, but the bluetooth software says it is no BT device connected to my laptop. I checked the BIOS settings and confirmed that the BT is enabled. I even turned off, saved, then he helped turn. Hit the Fn + 5 combo does not trigger the light or no matter what 'Found New Hardware'. When the laptop starts first BT light flashes and the wifi led and the HARD drive activity light. I was not yet able to load another OS, but I download Arch Linux and BackTrack 5 to test to see that it is perhaps a problem with OS.

Thoughts or ideas would be useful, it seems that my Google-Fu me has missed as well.

EDIT: I realize in the sticky on the "do not update the bluetooth drivers" but I do not get my bluetooth to work at all, not even recognized by the operating system as an "unknown device".

I thought about it. It is ridiculously easy. Download the drivers for the keyboard shortcut key and install. It allow you to use the functions at the top of your keyboard, and then after reboot, press Fn + F5 and will you will get a menu to activate the Bluetooth on the operating system, then Win7 should detect and install the drivers for it, or you can download those from the Lenovo site.

  • Run as administrator does not not for files bat inside the folder names with special characters such as)

    Dear all,
I am unable to run any file beats with "Run As Administrator" when the bat file is present in a folder that has (in his name.
    For example: I main.bat in d:\test (_8july) \main.bat.
The content of main.bat is like that.

    c:\windows\system32\cmd.exe /C "e:\test.bat."

The content of test.bat is like this:

    echo 'test' > %temp%/test.txt
    pause

If I double-click main.bat, I can see the file text.txt being created and 'test' written in it.
If I click with the right button on main.bat and select 'Run as administrator', cannot run the file beats and I get the error "d:\test" is not a recognized command.
    How to handle these situations?

If I run as c:\windows\system32\cmd.exe /C 'd:\test (_8july) \main.bat' to 'Run' in Start menu cannot run little. It gives the same error "d:\test" is not a recognized command.
    If I run as c:\windows\system32\cmd.exe /C "" d:\test (_8july) \main.bat"" it can work and works very well.
So, the question is when we choose 'Run as Administrator', it takes the file bat as insead "d:\test (_8july) \main.bat" of ""d:\test (_8july) \main.bat" is there a work around for UAC, we can pass the correct string

    Thanks in advance

  • Converter Standalone 4.3.0 question - Get "the specified parameter was not correct" and no source listed volumes

Sorry - hopefully an admin can move this to the correct forum. I could find no community forum labeled converter so no idea where to post this message.

My first time trying to use the converter. Use the latest version of the Converter 4.3.0 to try a P2V by using the source computer. This is a laptop Dell D820 running Windows 7 Ultimate x 64 business. I chose the source machine and all the default settings. Destination product is VMware Workstation 7.x and target files are either local or to a port USB drive (tried both). In the last step, I get a yellow bar with the error "the specified parameter was not correct" "but the following quotes are empty and presume it suppose to say the name of the setting.» The only thing I see that is suspect is that if I click on change in section 'Data copy', the list of volumes and empty and assume that shouldn't be. The sample video to get advice on the use of converter on VMware support sites show a volume listed here. I tried the same approach on a completely different system under Vista SP2 and still no volumes appear so maybe it normal?

No idea what I am doing wrong? I did export logs and watch and it appears no volume information has been captured (a lot of & lt; destroyed & gt ;) but even once, just guessing.) Any advice would be appreciated greadly.

    Thank you

    Don

I had the same problem on a Win7 x 64 machine... There was no listed disk to convert.

I managed to solve the problem by running the converter as an administrator. Right-click on the Desktop Converter icon and select run as administrator.

The disks appears and you can select which can be the converter.

If I understand correctly, the camcorder is not getting recognized on the computer. I suggest you follow the troubleshooting steps to check if this may help.
    1. don't you make changes on the computer before the show?
    2. What is the exact error message on the computer?
3 is the issue limited to handycam?
    4. which version of the operating system is installed on the computer?
    5. the problem occurs on a different computer?
    6. don't you try to connect to a different USB port?

    Method 2:

    Hello X-x_MaGiC_x-X,

Thank you for visiting the website of Microsoft Windows Vista Community.

Try the rest of the stage in this article:

System restore points are created automatically when the following occur:

    • When you install a new application or driver.
    • When you uninstall or install some programs.
    • When you install new updates
    • Automatically on a daily interval
    • Manually by creating a.
    • If you choose to use system restore to restore to a previous restore point, System Restore creates a new restore point before you restore a previous state in case something goes wrong. If you are restoring to a previous state in Mode without failure, a restore point will create for the current state.

So that the restoration of the system to work, you must have 300 MB of free space for each hard disk that monitors the system restore. System Restore will also use up to 15% of disk space on each disk that it monitors. That hard disk space runs out, older restore points will be deleted as newer ones. It is also important to note that you must be logged in as an administrator in order to use the system restore. Now that you understand the basics of the system restore, you must continue to the next section to learn how to use it.

Restore Windows Vista to a previous state

In the case of a problem on your computer that cannot be solved by normal means, you can restore your computer to a previous working state. To do this, you need to start restoring the system so that you can choose the restore point to restore. If you currently have Windows Vista boot problems, you can use the system restore in Windows recovery environment. Instructions on how to do it in this tutorial can be found: System Restore using the Windows Vista recovery environment.

If you can connect to Windows Vista, you must follow these steps.

    1. Close and save any documents that you have opened.
    2. Click the Start button to open your Start Menu. The Start button looks like this:
    3. When the Start Menu open click on the menu option all programs.
    4. Click once on the Start Menu Accessories group.
    5. Click once on the System Tools Start Menu group.
    6. Click once on the icon of the system restore. After you click the icon, if a user account control window opens, click on the button continue.

You will now be on the screen as shown below in Figure 1 system restore. From this screen, you can specify the restore point that you want to restore.

    1 screen of system restore

By default, Vista will be already selected the restore recommended option. This restore point is one followed a new pilot program, or update has been installed. If you do not want to use this restore point, you can click on the button next to start the restore process. On the other hand, if there is a more recent restore point that you want to restore you should select choose a different restore point and press the next button. This will bring you to a screen, as shown in Figure 2, which contains a list of all available restore points that you can restore.

    2. the list of available restore points

You must select the restore point that you want to restore, and then press the button next to start the restore process. Vista will display a window showing your selected restore point and asking you to confirm that it is that you want to restore.

    3. confirm the selected restore point

If you want to select a different restore point, press the Back button. Otherwise, you can press the Cancel button to exit the system restore or the button finish to begin the restore process. If you have selected finish, Vista will display a second prompt asking you to confirm that you want to continue restoring.

    4. second Confirmation

If you are sure you want to restore, then press the Yes button. Vista will now log you off the computer and start the system restore process, as shown in Figure 5 below.

    5. restoration of a restore point

When the restore is complete, your computer will be restarted and when Vista starts it backup will be restored to its previous state. When you open a Vista session for the first time after the restore, you will see a message indicating that the restore was successful.

    6. system restore was successful

If there are problems with your computer because the last restoration, you can return to your previous settings to ebb in the system restore utility and select Undo system restore by pressing the next button.

7 undo the last system restore

Your computer should now work correctly again.

With the help of the restoration of the system in the Windows recovery environment

    Manual creation of Restore Points

As mentioned previously, it is also possible to create manual restore depending on points. Some popular designs to create manual restore points are when you have your computer configured perfectly and I would save the State in case of problems in the future. To create a manual restore point, you must follow these steps:

    1. Click the Start button to open your Start Menu. The Start button looks like this:
    2. Click on the control panel menu option.
    3. Click the option menu system and Maintenance.
    4. Click on the system menu option.
    5. Click on the System Protection in the list on the left.

You will now be at the System Protection tab in the system control panel. This tab allows you to enable and disable the system restore as well as making the new manual restore points.

    8. the System Protection tab

To create a manual restore point, you must click on the button create. When you press this button a prompt asking you to give a title to this manual restore point.

    9. Enter the manual restore point title

Type a title for the manual restore point and press the button create. Vista will now create a restore point manually and once finished, post a notice that it was created successfully.

    10. Manual restore point has been created

Now that you have finished doing the manual restore point, you can close the system window.

Try to download the correct and up-to-date drivers.

    This should solve your problem.

Let us know if these steps solve your problem.  I hope the information is useful.
