You must get in touch with your Internet Service Provider (ISP) to get the best router/modem which should be less interference for the weather conditions.

Replace the key to WEP (wired equivalent privacy) security check and the settings of the router if you are able to connect. Follow the steps mentioned below.
Change the WEP key in Vista:
a. click the Start button.
b. click Network in the right column in the start menu.
c. click Network Center in the menu bar horizontally.
d. click reorganize wireless networks.
e. double-click the wireless network you want to change.
f. click on the Security tab.
g. changing the network security key and the encryption type.
h. click OK.

I have the problem with my VPN from last auto Win update MAJOR - 16/10/2014
My VPN worked fine until this update. Since then, I have a lot of different errors when I try to connect to this VPN again (from another PC with the same credentials is fine).
When I now try to connecto to VPN I have Error 711 first and later of 609. I tried a lot of repairs, and none worked.

- Plug-and-play - Works Fine - Set as automatic and the Service started successfully
- Remote procedure call - Works Fine - set as automatic and Service started successfully
- DCOM Server process Launcher - Works Fine - AutoPlay and the Service started successfully
- Fax - Fax on the local computer and stop service. Some services stop automatically if they are not in use by other services or programs.
- Remote access auto connection manager - Windows could not start the remote access auto connection service manager on the local computer. Error 0 x 80000048: 0 x 80000048
- Remote access connection manager - automatic game and the Service started successfully
- ICS - Internet connection sharing service on the local computer on the road and stop. Some services stop automatically if they are not in use by other services or programs.

cable modem-wireless combination or not?
Hi, I'm going to switch from DSL to cable T - W (the only option in my building). I have an Airport Extreme on my TimeCapsule (it is the 500 GB disk version), that I use with my laptop. The iMac is connected to the router. I looked around at best buy where they sell T - W "approved" networking gear. Modems cable, all seem to be modem + units of combination of WiFi router at various points in price between about $80-200. My question is this: that any type of material that I use as long it's T - W compatible/approved. Any thoughts on the units of combination or is a cable modem + my Airport Extreme way to go. Not sure of the speed yet, but it is unlikely that I will contract for what that either more than 50 Mbit/s and perhaps even to 15 Mbps. Support some of the Motorola units that I was looking for very high flow rates, but they use the channel binding to achieve this goal. I read somewhere that if you buy the combined devices, you cannot update the firmware, but that doesn't make sense to me.
Ask TW a modem without router built-in. And then run an Ethernet cable from the Ethernet port of the modem on the WAN on your AEBS port. You can connect your computer to the router either wired or wireless. It is the best configuration.
If you do not need for Ethernet, then you can use a modem cable with router Wi - Fi as well. The main disadvantage is the difficulty you might have try to expand the modem/router using Apple hardware.

That would be a question of Comcast with Apple support.

What model number of the Arris product they recommend? (Arris offers more than a dozen different products)
If you get a 'simple' modem, as the SB6120 you have now with only a single Ethernet port at the back of the unit, then you will always need airport to act as a router.
If they recommend a type of device that combines a separate modem and a router separate in the same package, then you are probably the most convenient airport... but you can still use it if you want to "modem/router" or "gateway".
You have two wireless in this way, you may not need. Some users use a network to their 'private' network and then use another wireless for the 'guests'... so it does not give the password to your private network.

Be 'stuck' with wimpy CenturyLink DSL service (read 4 Mbps), I try to get every ounce of speed that I can with my configuration of a Wi - Fi. The material in question is a Technicolor C1100T modem/router/WiFi and a current model Apple AirPort Extreme.
The question is, whose Setup is faster:
[A] C1100T in Bridge Mode (i.e. modem only) > AirPort Extreme all the PPPoE router / WiFi work, or
[B] C1100T modem handling / PPPoE - router work > AirPort Extreme in Bridge Mode, just do a Wi - Fi connection?
The C1100T goes only up to speed "n" where the Airport manages 'ac '. So my thought is the configuration 'B' may have an advantage. As long as we talk about press speed, are there any other tricks, for example by selecting the best channels 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz (assuming that one is faster than the other)? Literally, living in the Woods, there is no one else around with any related Wi - Fi signal to interfere.

[A] C1100T in Bridge Mode (i.e. modem only) > AirPort Extreme all the PPPoE router / WiFi work, or

No, but I would not use PPPoE over airport. If you have tons of time and be ready to experiment and put up with connections, more broken then you could try PPPoE on the airport.

N ° the most convenient airport at startup, it automatically scans to select a channel that meets the criteria set by Apple engineers. As soon as it finds one, he chooses.

Always recommended to reset the airport back to settings by default and then set up again whenever you have a new modem or change your Internet Service provider.
Turn off the new modem for at least 30 minutes. More is better.
Perform a hard reset on the AirPort Extreme, then it turned off.
Make sure that the Ethernet cable connects the modem to the "O" on the AirPort Extreme WAN port
After the power of the modem 30 minutes down, turn on the modem and let it run for at least 5 minutes by itself.
Then, turn on the airport and let it run a few minutes
Set up AirPort Extreme again
Important note... There are many reports of problems with the modem Arris SB and airports. Both are great products, but they do seem to work perfectly together for some users.
