Winding Vista/HP 1020 problem

I have a similar problem as Jayhawk36 with my Jet Laser HP1020 and Windows Vista. In my case, it has been installed for some time and I had no problems with it. But, I printed all my paper and the message "Spooler stopped working" popped up. I went through the standard process; Turn it extinguished/turned on, run microsoft fix it, then uninstall/reinstall with updated HP driver download. He is initially downloads and then prints my last document again. I also tried the system restore, but nothing has worked. It's almost as if I'm in a loop of some sort. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance :)

Thank you for taking the time to answer my question and save my bacon :)

I followed the instructions of Chan (link below) and pasted his instructions in case someone else could use them.
«I'm not certain how vista disable LDP port after the installation of the new driver and leaves only Internet client printer only port.» That's why the Printer Spooler service was able to start. The solution is:

1. go in programs and features in Control Panel > on features Windows turn on or off
2. click on + sign of printing services
3. Select LPD and LPR. You must remove the Internet printing Client. > restart your PC to ensure there is no error in the spooler service.
4 to re-add your printer driver.
I also need the following steps to get my printer to work properly.

5 turn the printer off and unplug the computer

6 re-install downloaded driver (taken from the HP site)

7. run repair Windows

8 clear on printing (I couldn't access before)

9. shut down the computer

10. connect the printer to the computer

11. restart the computer

12 jump for joy!

Hope someone finds this useful.

  • Vista Home Prem - problems since installation on 26 August updated - USB problems and everything deleted before the update restore points

I have a Dell XPS 430 quad-processor. Receipt of the August 26 as update automatic updates. Since the computer was restarted after autoupdates, I have problems. Biggest problem is when I switch to another port my 4 ports KVM Trendnet TK - 407K and back on my Dell computer - the computer is blocked and the video is all garbled. My only recourse is to start the computer cold. After the first time it happened, I knew immediately updates, so I went in my restore points to restore back before the update. When I did restore bluescreened, but I was unable to capture data as computer restarted itself and get into the routine of starting fix. Difficulty of startup said it could not solve my problem.

When I returned to restore to try to restore once again, I found that all my restore points have been removed. I found a utility called the shadow on the web Explorer and installed. He seems to find all my data restore point on the recovery D: drive, but Windows is not seeing them.  I should also mention, usb-wise, given that these updates have been applied, my Canon digital camera is not recognized when I hang it in one of the USB ports.

Don't know what to do at this point. If I stay on the port on my computer using the KVM switch, my PC at home works well. Unfortunately, it is not realistic that I need to do my job in two laptops that are also connected to the switch.

I'm tempted to just delete all the updates that have been installed on 8/26 to see if that helps - esp KB973879 I read on this patch causing a lot of problems with other computers.  Another thing that I have not tried is to use the restore from a command prompt application.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

    Thank you!

  • Vista - Windows Update problem

I use Windows Vista.  I went to 'Windows Update' and ' Check for Updates ' this morning.  He ran two hours 'check updates'.  I did a disk cleanup and restarted the computer.  Same problem reappeared.  Two days earlier, the process worked.  I prefer not having to buy a new computer until early next year, but will get stuck if I can't get updates of security that we are supposed to have to March of the next year.  If you can help me with this problem, I would appreciate it.  Thank you.

Have ultimate Visa on computer and SP1 appears in update as long as 1.9 Mb file {KB936330}. Installation seems to go ok excepy who, after having agreed to be wary of many reboots, is seems to load in a few seconds [appears as update added] with no restarts BUT a few minutes later, the same update appears.

Tried to get around this by downloading the SP and running of the saved file. Once again, everything seems ok [several reboots this time] until step 3 of 3 is 100% full and the message appears while the SP has not then install the steps are to be set aside. It's the way you normally install SPs without using Windiws update:

Click Start > right click on computer > left click on properties > see if you have Vista 32 bit or Vista 64-bit installed.

It will also tell you which SP you have installed.

Then, choose the download of 'bit' OK to use to install Service Packs, installation of SP1 first if it is not already installed.

  • Vista Start Menu problems

This is similar to the problems of others on the Vista Start Menu and the taskbar. I looked at the answer, tried to do, but it is already on the "'Start Menu" look, with the "Classic Start Menu" unchecked. "

He remains in the classic style. Even the scrollbars, windows and Microsoft Paint Program file have a look outdated. In fact, everything, but my Google Chrome browser is outdated, even if the scroll bar is white and square.

I love my computer and what she looked like before. This has happened after that my laptop has suffered a systematic update. I leave my laptop rest and waited to reconnect. The first I noticed was the Start Menu obsolete, white square and unpleasant. Another thing I noticed, it was a bubble of a word on a system event Notification. I don't know if it plays a role in this dilemma.

I want just the Start Menu of Vista to look like a Vista Start menu.

    Hi MLD1990,

Step 1: start by checking the event notification to know what could have happened.

    See the links below:

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/what-information-appears-in-event-logs-Event-Viewer

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/open-Event-Viewer

Step 2: this could also be a problem with the themes, you can try to change to a different theme (Vista's Aero theme) and then check out.

For more information, see the links below:

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/change-desktop-theme

Step 3: you can also check the recently installed updates to know what could be the cause.

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/see-which-Windows-updates-are-installed

    Hope this information is useful.

  • My WIN Vista Premium PC problems.

    Your help is very appreciated.

I have a computer Windows Vista Home Premium (32 bit), with problems.

I tried many ways, find proposals / solutions here on your web pages, but trying the they seem to not work for my pc. For example, Windows Update does not update/installation problems,
Windows Help & Support does not work, my virus protection can't update, backup of my computer does not work and restore to a previous point does not, Mr.Fix - it installation and running Microsoft does not work on my pc. Installing a gadget/program to identify current problems of pc also does not work. So I can't find what causes these problems and errors.
My question is now, if I install Windows 7, which is more recent, and which, during the installation removes any existing files or programs on the computer, Windows 7 run as a whole new functional Windows system, or will be, I still have these update problems and error messages? (because the programs and files are not removed during the installation).
I am not, of course, when you go online and download the drivers updated, patches and fixes various can / will be installed on my pc. Can someone advise me on this?
I understand that after I installed Windows 7, I can't go back to Vista.
All the problems I have described here will be gone when the dvd of Windows 7 is uninstall Vista and install WIN 7?
    Best regards
    Karel.

My opinion is that if you have a series of problems with your installation of Vista, you would be unwise to try to upgrade to Windows 7, you might get lucky, but I doubt it. The best course of action would be to copy all of your important files on an external drive and do a complete reinstall of Windows Vista.

According to the description of the problems you have I suppose you have some infections, try a scan: -.

    http://www.Microsoft.com/security/scanner/en-AU/default.aspx

and may also download Malwarebytes Anti Malware (there is a free version) and run a scan with it, if your antivirus updates then you might want to install it in safe mode (press F8 at startup).

If this clears the infections then try the fix than programs.
