Window update is stuck at 0%

Hello
I have a problem started a few weeks ago. When my window of essential security cannot connect with update, then I noticed some automatic updates also failed.
Update from my window is stuck at 0%. When I tried the automatic update of the Panel allow-> perform operation and maintenance-> system-> automatic updates, and then it freezes. The tab does not change. I had to kill the process (run32dll).

I tried to restore to the date I knew that update worked but the restoration of the system has failed every time. I scanned the system with various antivirus tools but the problem persists. It's really annoying.

Hi Pvnguyen,

Are there programs 3rd party or registry cleaners on the system? If you could also check the event viewer to see if there are errors that are saved when you try to run the system restore, it can provide the answer to which hangs the system.

  • 'Check' updates from Windows Update is stuck after that I have reset my laptop

I refreshed and reset my laptop but it will always get stuck 'Check updates' and everything works so slow... than ever before.
Is this a problem with my hard drive?

    OloberSaiko

Sorry, but your reset laptop reset Windows Update.

I recently had to do this in one of my PC and it took three days complete (!) for the Windows Update process finish.  One day find updates, one day to download and one day to apply.

To add to the frustration, during downloads, progress 'freeze' to zero percent!

So, I had it got stuck - but she didn't - and this is important!  Go to C:\Windows\Distribution.  If there are files and folders, Windows Update works, it is simply not updated status information.

You can check that from time to time, and while its download yet, he will continue to grow.  As long as there are files and folders there DO NOT shut down your PC!  This will force again when you reboot.

Sorry... but you just have to leave it on and it will run its course.

    Good luck

  • Windows Update stuck at 'Check updates'

    Original title: Windows Update stuck

I had to recover my laptop windows 7 back to out-of-box state system. Once presented to my office, I immediately went to Windows Update to install all of the updates that I needed. After installing SP1, and restart the computer, windows update to update the update agent, so he could get some more updates. He said he would close and re - open Windows Update, which she did, but now it is stuck on "check updates".

The update that broke the update of Windows was "Windows Update Agent 7.6.7600.320"

I have since made a recovery of the system to the State out-of-box three times and each time "Windows Update Agent 7.6.7600.320" installs Windows Update is stuck saying "check updates".

I did tons of attempts to solve this problem, but it won't find more updates and I can't install more updates.

I have also experienced problems with Windows Update still looking for updates when Windows Update 7.6.7600.320 has been installed automatically after the system update to SP1 (it was after doing a clean install of Windows 7).

    The following worked for me:

    1. manually installing KB3083710

  • Problem with an update for Belkin 7050 V3 in Windows Update in Windows 7

Recently, I bought a Belkin 7050 V3 wireless card, and I use the card on my Windows 7 computer with a Vista driver. The Vista driver works perfectly, but whenever I go to Windows updates, I see that there is an update recommended Windows 7 for my card. Once I have start the update process, Windows Update gets stuck on the installation of this update, and once that Windows Update said you it has failed to install the update, you cannot use the device, and you can't even reinstall the Vista driver. So after that I did a system restore, I've hidden the update. However, just today, I learned that Windows Update tired to reinstall the update even through automatic updates. I was wondering if there is a way to attract the attention of Microsoft to remove this update from Windows Update, because I think it's the only way that this problem will be solved, even if I hide the update, she returns after a few days and reinstalls by the automatic update.

  • Windows Update does not work after installing SP1 of W7.

A friend of mine gave me a Dell Inspiron Mini 1012 with 32-bit of Windows 7 Starter (installed at the factory date: 01/11/10). 1 GB of RAM, processor 1.66 Ghz I duel performed a factory reset so I could start with a "new" computer When he was asked to implement W7 for the "first time" I put W7 to recommended settings. For the next few days, everything seemed like it was working fine. Updates are automatically downloaded and installed, until W7 SP1 has been installed. Now, Windows Update is stuck on "checking for updates". WU is always fixed to automatically download and install, but when I opened WU I see the message "check updates for your computer". When I click on the button control updates WU is stuck updates. I left this process continues for 24 hours. Meanwhile, the Dell Mini didn't stop, go to sleep, or put into hibernation, but WU is to always check the updates. Troubleshooting Windows Update from this link: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/open-the-windows-update-troubleshooter (I got the message "Windows update error 0 x 80070057 not fixed" this troubleshooting.)  and the resolution of the problems in the Panel "Will fix problems with Windows Update". • Windows updates lead to Startup Repair whenever I restart

    Hello.

This issue was irritates me for some time.

It started when my Skype would not display the log in page, Skype was working fine before. My Internet Explorer 9 does not display pages. Therefore, I tried to get IE11 of Windows Updates. At this time, Windows Update does not work and I found out, I was missing the TustedInstaller.exe, so I had to copy a computer from my friend of the same type.

Windows Update started to worked fine and checked for 147 updates for me to install (when I came to my computer, Windows Update has been disabled on the not to check the updates).

I installed them, and when it asks me to restart, I go and do it. However, the percentage of "Configuration of Windows Update" was stuck at 15% (now it is stuck at 30%). Then restart my computer it asks me to start repairs. I do repairs and I think it worked. However, none of the updates to install. I try to update again, but start repairs continue to come back. I can restart my computer without doing the updates. But when I restart to make updates, start repairs.

    I have a Windows 7, 64-bit, SP1.

    Hello Arjun,

Thanks for posting your query on the Microsoft community.

According to the description of the problem your computer stuck at startup repair after installing Windows updates. The question might be if there is a file system corruption. So I would say that you want to run auto repair before you reinstall the operating system. To perform the task, I suggest you to try the steps below and see if it helps.

To run the Startup Repair tool, see the links below for more details:

What are the system recovery options in Windows 7?

    Startup Repair: frequently asked questions
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/Startup-Repair-frequently-asked-questions

If the problem persists, try to run auto repair from the Windows recovery environment (Windows RE) using the installation media and see if it helps.

When you use the recovery (Windows RE) environment to resolve startup problems, first try the Startup Repair option in the System Recovery Options dialog box. If this does not resolve the problem, or if you have additional problems manually, use the Bootrec.exe tool.

Since you are unable to launch desktop and stuck on auto repair loop, you may need to create a bootable Windows installation media, and then perform an automatic repair. If you are using Windows 7 then the link provided below might help you to download and create installation media.

Download Windows 7 Disk Images (ISO files)

If the problem persists, try to rebuild the BCD by using the Bootrec.exe tool.

To run the Bootrec.exe tool, you must start Windows RE. To do this, follow these steps:

    1. Place the Windows 7 installation disc in the disc drive, and then start the computer.
    2. Press a key when you are prompted. Select a language, a time, a currency, a keyboard or an input method, and then click Next.
    3. Click repair your computer.
    4. Click the operating system you want to repair, and then click Next.
    5. In the System Recovery Options dialog box, click command prompt.
    6. Type Bootrec.exe, and then press ENTER.

See the following link for more information:

How to use the Bootrec.exe tool in the Windows recovery environment to troubleshoot and repair startup issues in Windows

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/927392

I hope this helps. If the problem still persists, post back with the current state of your computer and the result of the proposed suggestion, we will be happy to help you.
