Windows 7 crashes from time to time

I use Windows 7 Enterprise edition Lenovo y 500 laptop. System crashes from time to time. Sometimes it freezes when you type in word / excel... Sometimes it freezes when idle (no activity is done). It happened several times and this experience, I think that is not casued by any specific program. Recent example is as a song is played in windows media player. The song ended and after two minutes hanged.

The machine is five years and is. There may be a lot of dust on the inside and on the fins of the CPU cooling. Dust can enter the RAM slots fits, so pulling on the plunger and brushing up on the lunges re-allocation places can improve the contact, but dust the rest before (not with a vacuum cleaner - use a brush or air) cleaning grooves and re-seats of the RAM.

82 c is quite high. While not enough to cook your cpu never machine go a lot of 60-70 ° C (day 30-C) under high load. Currently, mine is at 33 c (temperature ambient about 20 + C) and should peak at around 45 c under heavy load. While laptops do not have effective cooling as a PC
your processor runs at only 34W compared to my 95W cpu and would generate much less heat.

What AV uses all your cpu?  Monopoly$ ofts free "Security Essentials"
AV is good, so is Avast free home version.
BTW - I just ran Avast AV. It uses up to 50% of cpu (quad core, but I think that he moderates use according to the processor uses) and raised the temperature by C. 7
.
It can be misleading to think that some resources are not pointed at
the time of an accident that there is no link with when the use of resources was higher a few moments before. Use, or an event preceding the accident may have led to instability.

Safe boot mode allows you to troubleshoot as not all services and drivers
are loaded in safe mode. If Windows is running on only the basics and
has problems, then you must look in the boot or start thinking about material defects (old machine - perhaps power or disk HARD 5 years).
Clean boot is similar, but helps many with the software that runs in the background when loading Windows and which may be in conflict with another software or just stealing resources (your AV).
Each open application uses at least a small amount of RAM, and with several open browsers or tabs you can soon use a good portion of your memory of 2 GB.

If so, it indicates that this device has not been tested or certified for Windows 8. I suspect that the biggest part of the problem is that the drivers of the switchable graphics system is not compatible with Windows 8. Hi Larrydak,

Welcome to the Microsoft Answers site!

When this happens (when the computer is idle for a period of time or that you are working on)?

This happens when you do something in particular or it occurs randomly?

You can check in the event viewer to see if an application is causing the problem.

    To open Event Viewer

    1. click on the Start button.

    2. click on Control Panel.

    3. go to the system and security.

    4. Select Administrative Tools, and then double-click Event Viewer.

If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

You can also try to put the computer to boot and check if all background programs is causing this issue. To help resolve the error and other messages, you can start Windows Vista by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

The steps to perform a clean boot are given below:

1 log on to the computer using an account with administrator rights

    2. click on start, type msconfig.exe in the start search box and press ENTER to start the System Configuration utility.

If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type your password, or click on continue

    3. on the general tab, click Selective startup, and then clear the check box load startup items. (The check box use the file Boot is not available.)

    4. on the Services tab, click to select the skin all the Microsoft services check box, and then click Disable all

Note: Following this step lets services Microsoft continue to run. These services include networking, Plug-and-Play, record of events, error reporting, and other services. If you disable these services, you can permanently delete all restore points. Do not do this if you want to use with existing restore points system restore utility

Once you start office check if the problem persists, follow the steps in the article and find out which program is causing the problem.

For more information about the clean boot, follow the below given link:

How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135

When you are finished troubleshooting, follow these steps to reset the computer to start as usual:

    1. click on start, type msconfig.exe in the start search box and press ENTER.

If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type your password, or click on continue.

    2. on the general tab, click the Normal startup option, and then click OK.

    3. When you are prompted to restart the computer, click on restart

    Hope this information is useful.

  • File Explorer Windows 8 crashes whenever I do a right click on the USB key.

File Explorer Windows 8 crashes every time I do a right click on installed - everything - USB or flash key and try to choose options, such as format, rename them or properties.  Windows Explorer crashes, closed its doors, and I'm sent back to the Start Page.  This happens with any USB key, on one of the ports on my computer, which I have at least 10.

I can left click on USB in the file Explorer, and held one still able to open or interact with any file in the USB. I can save to the USB port of any other program, and I can usually eject it in the taskbar. The only problem is I can't do a right click on the USB key and select a function without kicks back to the start page and the file Explorer is restarted.

My version of Windows 8 is an upgrade to Windows 7.  I have already tried a restart secure, and even in this State, the accident continues.

I had the same problem with any flash/stick/key USB on my system (64-bit) Windows 8 Pro. I started out of the blue, had not installed a new software or updates. I couid do a right-click on the drive and get the menu, but any action in the menu I chose stop and restart Windows Explorer (without any error message.) I also tried the cleanboot approach with no luck.

The solution that worked was to move the mouse to the bottom left of the screen and right click.
    Select prompt (Admin)
    in the cmd window, type:
    sfc/scannow
    and press ENTER.
After about 15 minutes (about 4 minutes to check and then a little more than 11 minutes waiting while he was working in the background - but it seemed frozen. My system is an i7, 16 GB of Ram, 512 GB SSD drive - so your time may vary), I received a message that some corrupt files had been repaired and some had not. The newspaper was in a txt file in C:\Windows\Logs\CBS if the log file was inaccessible. I got a popup access denied .
I rebooted the system and everything was fine and the problem of USB has been fixed.

  • Even if the setting is correct, Firefox does not windows and tabs from last time at the reopening?

I have the habit of keeping three firefox windows open at the same time and I've always defined (under the general tab) ' display windows and tabs from last time '. It has stopped working. The setting is the same, but when I close and then reopen firefox, it opens the window only, not the three Windows I closed.

It has already set to reopen tabs, and I have not erased from history. He left the reopening correctly this morning after I let him "verify" a signature on the Toastmasters International website downloading a form of voucher. I am running 8.0.1. He froze and crashed after that I have is allowed only. I have just discovered that I can reopen the tabs by clicking on "restore closed window" and the session I wanted. However the window of before the crash has lost, which means I had to rebuild my list of tabs. Recently closed tabs is grayed out.

Time Machine backup to a sparsebundle.

The sparsebundle will use the share name of computer. So, it should be obvious who is your Macbook and that is your Macpro.

Open the sparsebundle in Finder and keep open the subfolders until you get to the backup of each separate hard drive...

You has of course set the exclusion in Time Machine?

By default, Time Machine will exclude your second drive unless you have included it. Did you?

Once you get to this level during the backup, you can do a full restore manually whenever you want.

I had just updated my KMPlayer and the new drive installed an add-on to find key that ruined my whole internet browsers...
affecting Firefox, IE key home page - find the page, I tried to change the homepage on a show, my last session one and it always return to the home page, which is the key - find page:

and after I uninstalled it, it is always to have the effect it
