  • Windows 8 file save the old operating system installed

Just called Microsoft supported and also Microsoft chat tech and they have no idea what to say.

    Long story short;

Had a HP TouchSmart and installed the beta version of Windows 8. Windows 8 Pro has purchased and installed. Everything was OK.

Bought a new Dell XPS 30 "all in one. It came with Windows 8, but I installed my copy of Pro on this subject. It's all working for a few months.

Yesterday, my system froze. I tried everything, checking virus, malware check, reboot, Windows 8 discount... No luck. It should boot to the Windows startup screen

but all the tiles would not become assets AND most of them where it's empty. Just got a screen frozen tiles colored white.

Last night so I did the drastic wipe and much time the fresh install disk. It starts fine, and now there are only a few titles on the splash screen now because of the new facility. I rebooted and he did all the current improvements. Everything was fine.

Now the nightmare... I did the restore files 8 widows in my external hard drive. All files loaded fine, but when I rebooted, the installation of Windows 8 old was back. I had all my tiles with icons or text... Just color, back to the same problem, I just spend the whole night to solve!

File Windows backup to copy system files and restore them? If so, how can I get my files personal return without defining the system to the way it was before the new facility.

    Confused and frustrated...

    peace,

    LD

I used the new file history Windows 8. I thought it was just my personal files. After the fresh format and new installation of widows 8, I did a restore of the history of the file. This has somehow installed windows that did not work properly.

I then tried to do a 'Refresh Install' and it gave me the Windows.old directory. I deleted that and, at least for the moment, everything seems to work.
I don't know what happened, but it was very strange...
Also for what it's worth, I wish history files would be to update only the changed files and not just copy everything. It eats quickly place and requires us to be always delete files. Thank you

  • Error: File Asms needed Windows XP Home edition after repair of operating system. (Windows 7 upgrade)

Original title: asms file necessary windows xp home edition, after operating system repair.

I know it's old but I try to get on my mothers pc so it can transfer files to a drive hard usb. This computer had virus in there and caused certain files be rearranged. I took out the virus

I could not access the Device Manager as he disappeared. The computer does not recognize the hard drive usb, so I decided to fix the pc using the re installation disc.

The computer fixed itself, but now I get this message saying file asms is necessary. I tried to use the steps in this article (311755 KB), but still the same problem. I would like to use the recovery console, but I do not know the password for the administrator of safe mode.
The computer that had repaired the operating system is a dell dimension 2350 and I used the original windows xp disc.
I have a disc of windows 7 but the graphics card on the computer is less than adequate. I was wondering if I could calm down the graphics in the windows Classic theme for windows 7 will work and is it possible to save files because the computer is always on the xp Setup

Your specifications (RAM) are not quite the minimum requirements for WIndows 7 as shown here:

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/products/system-requirements

However, Microsoft recommends 128 MB of RAM for XP as shown here:

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/314865

So I think that their minimum requirements are a lot of hooey for most environments.  He can run, but you're probably not going to it.

If you want to see if you can get your work in XP (I'm not familiar with this problem), if you do a little research on Google for phrases like claire XP administrator password, I forgot XP administrator password reset XP administrator password, etc.. I'm pretty confident that you will find a way to go beyond this little bump on the road.  Simply clear the password and be on your way.

We are supposed to simply not to tell you how to do such things, so I fall just a few tips :)

  • How can I transfer a file from the operating system to a backup of the production running VM virtual machine?

Problem:  After I do a backup one using ghettoVCB on a local VMFS volume, I have a virtual machine that I can start something happened to that running.  However, sometimes I just need a file from the OS level, which means that I would need to start to get them, but then I have an IP address conflict.  I can't imagine a way to have the NICs turned off and still be able to move the file.  If I change the IP addresses, the software that I need to create the file that I need to transfer no longer works because, although there no need of constant connectivity to the seller, it is locked to the public IP address.http://communities.vmware.com/images/emoticons/sad.gif

Material:  I have two 4 ESXi hosts to work, each with local VMFS volumes.  They share a private vlan common and a vlan common public.  They each ssh, ftp, wput, wget, and rsync available.  I have a Windows 2003 Server VM which also hosts a NFS and the VI client and other VMWare tools.  It also has private and public interfaces as do virtual machines that would be to make and receive the OS files.

Question:  How can I transfer a file from the operating system to a backup of the production running VM virtual machine?

    Thank you!

Yes Mr President, make sure you set the network on this virtual machine to be connected to the 'Internal' vswitch, you set up before turning the power on to the virtual machine.

  • Windows error message "cannot find the file K:\$MFT or K:\System Volume Information.

Original title: Windows Error Message.  Cannot locate the file K:\$MFT

Periodically, I get an error message stating that Windows cannot locate the file K:\$MFT or K:\System Volume Information.   In this case my computer loses contact with K (my backup drive).  The only way I can get the command back up and running is to shut it down, restart windows and then reconnect the drive.  I have absolutely no idea where, why, or what this message is not irritating and a nuisance.  How can I stop this?

My problem is back and I guess that I does not after all.  It was suggested that more info on my system could help find answers.  I am running Windows XP. SP3.  My HD is 500 GB.  Intel Core 2 CPU.  6600 GHZ, 3 GB of Ram.

In addition the cannot locate the message file, it sometimes indicates that a "delayed write failed" and I should save the K:\$MFT file also.

As far as I can tell, I have solved my problem.  Windows 'Restore' was trying to save my disk backup for future use, and I think it's whence came the message.  I changed the settings to restore now ignores my backup disk and the problem has not happened since.  I hope it's the end of it.

  • Apparent compromise Windows XP operating system files

During a scan, antiviral regular which was initiated by the provider of the antiviral software, the scan did not work properly (i.e., it is still indicating that the scan is in progress, but nothing happens - no status progress which is now 50 + hours).  Contact the vendor of the antiviral software, they gave me the steps to perform a disk cleanup and then a reboot of the mode without failure followed by steps to remove TEMP files.  At halfway through the disk cleanup process, a pop-up window has stated that: "Windows - files required for Windows File Protection is running properly have been replaced by unrecognized versions.»  To maintain system stability, Windows must restore the original versions of these files.  Insert your Windows XP Professional Service Pack 3 CD now. "The Windows disks have not inserted according to the instructions, but instead, I contacted the antiviral software vendor to make sure that there is no unintended consequence.  The software provider antiviral indicated that Microsoft should be contacted as there can be some files that have been compromised that stopped the disk cleanup.  Windows XP (version 2005) operating system was pre-installed by the company of Toshiba laptop.  Question: I should restart the disk cleanup process as described by the antiviral software provider, and if there is another popup window indicating the information as mentioned above, service pack of Windows XP CD should be inserted?  Note: I was told Toshiba CD provided by them for the laptop contains the Windows XP operating system software.  The two provided Toshiba CD entitled, "Recovery and Applications/drivers DVD Satellite A100/A105 Series."  Question: Are there possible negative conseguences because the provided CD/DVDs have possible applications and drivers on them?  Thank you.

    Hello

There is no Windows Vista downloads available from Microsoft.

You can contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send you a set of recovery disks.

They should do this for a small fee.

And if you have never received a recovery disk when you bought your computer, there should be a recovery Partition on the hard drive to reinstall Vista on how you purchased your computer.

The recovery process can be started by pressing a particular combination of the key or keys at startup. (Power on / start)

    Maybe it's F10, F11, Alt + F10, etc., depending on the manufacturer.

Ask them to the proper key sequence.

You can also borrow and use a Microsoft Vista DVD, which contains the files for the different editions of Vista (Home Basic, Home Premium, Business and Ultimate) must be installed. The product key on your computer / Laptop box determines what Edition is installed.

Other manufacturers recovery DVDs are should not be used for this purpose.

And you need to know the version of 'bit' for Vista, as 32-bit and 64-bit editions come on different DVDs

Here's how to do a clean install of Vista using a DVD of Vista from Microsoft:

"How to do a clean install and configure with a full Version of Vista '

    http://www.Vistax64.com/tutorials/117366-clean-install-full-version-Vista.html

And once the operating system is installed, go to your computer manufacturer's website and get the latest drivers for your particular model or laptop computer.

And phone Activation may be necessary when you use the above installation method.
