Windows 7 if please do not turn off or unplug your machine installation update 12 of 14

Restarted the computer and above the message was displaying more than an hour?  Is this reasonable?  What can I do to return as soon as possible?

If you are connected to the Internet, try to disconnect, this means, unplug your router or Ethernet connection. You can try to do a cold start, start the download of the machine updates, then disconnect from the Internet and install them. Releasing it's easy: with Windows | ActiveWin | Laptops | Microsoft MVP

Change your Windows Update settings to NEVER.  Who will stop it immediately.  Then leave forever to keep it from MS to do what he wants.  You will then take the responsibility to do the Windows updates when they should be done once a month, a few days after the 2nd Tuesday.

Try typing F8 at startup and in the list of Boot selections, select Mode safe using ARROW top to go there > and then press ENTER.

If restore work not and you do not have a Vista DVD from Microsoft, do a repair disc to do a Startup Repair:

Download the ISO on the link provided and make a record of repair time it starts.

Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.

At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu.

When you have changed that, insert the Bootable disk you did in the drive and reboot.

  • Vista Home Premium, is stuck on the message "Please do not power off or unplug your Machine." Installation of update 1 of 1... ». Now what?

Recently, I applied the latest service pack for the 32-bit version of Vista and have had frequent accidents of Internet Explorer. Today, he seems to have done an automatic update (that he did, and did often in the 3 years I've owned the computer). But he is frozen on the screen that says do not do "power off or unplug... installation update 1 of 1. It's a little scary, and I don't know what to do.

I ran windows defender scan yesterday and the system was clean. Basic security hang after about 2/3 of green square were lit.

  • Windows 8 Visual AIDS will not turn off?

In Control Panel > accessibility > Ease of Access Center > use text or Visual alternatives for sounds.
I have unchecked everything, boxes, choose 'none' for "Visual alert has chosen" and it does not turn off.

Is anyway to fix this or reset the ease of access/panel seetings?

    Hi Dominique,.

You may experience this problem if the Windows system files are damaged. First try to restart the computer and check. Follow these methods and check if that helps:

Method 1: you cannot reset the accessibility settings, but you can try to perform the system restore and check if it helps. Follow these steps:

    1. Press the Windows key + R
    2. Type rstrui and then press ENTER.
    3. Click Next and choose the restore point, when your computer was working fine.

For more information, see: How to restore, refresh or reset your PC

System Restore warning: When you use system restore to restore the computer to a previous state, the programs and updates that you have installed are removed.

Method 2: I suggest you run the tool (SFC.exe) System File Checker and check if it helps. The tool (SFC.exe) System File Checker scans missing or system corrupted files and repairs them.

Run the System File Checker to see if you have corrupted system files.

Use the System File Checker tool to repair missing or corrupted system files
