Windows 7 - no Ethernet connection

My Windows 7 desktop internet connection fails to connect with the wired ethernet connection. Wireless Internet is fine. The problem seemed to start after a series of updates to Windows in December. I have them down one by one, and KB2898785 seems to be the culprit. It automatically reinstalled, the connection did not work once again, I supported it off once again, the connection worked again. This has happened several times. I know now that I could have / should have hidden this update, but did not at that time here. One of the moments where I backed the update, the connection still did not work and has not since. I've been spinning my wheels restoration at each point of restoration available without success. Manage the network device map 'cannot start (error 10). I downloaded the latest driver using my laptop and installed it on the desktop, but it made no difference. As the network adapter worked when I backed up updates I think this isn't a hardware problem. I'm running out of ideas, someone has a suggestion?

  • Windows 7 drops ethernet connection _every_time_ I restart my computer

    Hello

Every time I restart Windows 7, I completely lose my wired ethernet connection. It's not the mistake of bonjour service. It is not a statement simple ipconfig and renew the error. Literally, the system considers that there is no network card in the computer.

The only way it's fixed is to shut down the computer and stop it at the wall and wait for the power flowing. Turn on the power and the computer.

This didn't happen using vista or xp and I have made no changes to any settings.

Can someone please help with this question? If this isn't the case, please tell me who I should be emailing or where I should post this problem is solved.

    Thank you.

Same problem here too! I have the nForce also, Win7 x 64, maybe it's a driver problem. I'll look for some different drivers. I'll inform you guys if I find a solution.

FIX * well I have the Nvidia 590 SLi Mobo, went to nvidia Web site--> download--> product drivers: nForce--> etc. Fill out the fields and got the latest drivers, restarted and BAM! Right droit relie connected to restart, didn't have to toggle controller, looks that Win7 had just taken the wrong drivers when it has been updated. I hope this helps everyone!

Go to your computer manufacturer's support web site
and search for the Windows XP drivers for your specific computer or motherboard model number.

If there are Windows XP drivers, then download to a folder on your hard drive and burn it to a CD/DVD.
Then, after installing XP install all device drivers, start by installing the card mother/chipset driver first,
then the SATA, Audio, USB, LAN, etc, drivers.

  • Inspiron 5000 15 stall since the Windows 10 upgrade series ethernet connection

I have a Dell Inspiron 15, 5000 series that accompanies Windows 8.1 on it. I have upgraded to Windows 10 and the ethernet connection began to stall, giving messages that the cable is not connected when it is. I had installed all the updates driver from the Dell site, including all the firmware and the BIOS updated. According to the Dell website, the laptop has reportedly been tested to work with Windows 10.

I've disabled the card, then raise it, but always without success. I tried to roll back to Windows 8.1 and the ethernet of the functions of connection very well. I tried the upgrade of Windows 10 once again, but the ethernet connection does not work even after reinstalling all the drivers for Dell. Is it possible to know if this model is simply not able to upgrade despite the affirmation of Dell is it?

In fact, I found the answer this morning. I had to downgrade the driver for the Realtek PCIe FE Family Controller at 9.1.402.2015. So far, everything looking good. I have access to the internet via the ethernet cable. Go to let it run a bit and make sure that it is stable. I guess it was unhappy with the latest driver.

  • Tecra A9 - Windows 10 - unstable (Ethernet) network

    Hello

the ethernet connection became unstable after the upgrade to W7 Pro to Pro W10 (WiFi works fine).

It's always the same error: "NDIS:... network interface has been reset... network driver asked to reset... '. "(roughly - translated to > en). A 'ping t' will be sooner or later and repeatedly show time or general failures.

One of the side effects (suspicion) is that when it gets to the touchpad or mouse possibility are glued / stutter.

Without a doubt, the problem started after the upgrade to Windows 10 because that never broke under Windows 7 Acronis backups. But 10 Windows the first backup (and too subsequent attempts) failed with errors on the network.

    Kind regards

P.S.: Everything works perfectly under W10 on this laptop 'antique '.

  • WiFi for computer laptop HP ENVY 15 and Ethernet connection problem

Hi, a few months ago, I brought a HP ENVY 15 Notebook PC running windows 8.1. It is connected to my wifi with Ralink RT3290 802.11bgn Wi - Fi adapter. My modem is a Technicolour TG582n 2 Wireless ADSL + with wireless 802.11 b/g/n compatible.

As soon as I got there I noticed a problem of internet where I would be able to connect to my home WiFi network and get full reception bars but would have a hard time to access Web sites on web browsers such as chrome, mozilla and internet explore pages takes some time to load and eventually reached a page "this webpage is not available" (for chrome). This problem seems to occur only with my home network as it can connect to public wifi and my wifi friends and yet I have many other devices such as laptops and other smartphones connected to my wifi that did not at all have poblems with internet and it just seems to be mine. When I connect via ethernet I get good connection for about 10 minutes and then I was completely cut off. However, I can upload a file via the wifi ok if I can get it to start and I can play a game online well enough but often disconnected after an hour or two.

I checked for new updates of pilot, but they seem to be up to date and im do not manually downloading and installing one on the hp site but I tried (I did probably wrong). I ran the diagnostic function, but it cannot detect all problems. I looked around the internet as well, but still havn't found a solution.

Also I got the laptop sent back and received a new but the same problem persisted and as I walked through the process of the person I was talking to a admitted that I had a problem like they remote limited from my laptop for a little for the access problem.

Please help, I've had this problem for a month or two now and is really becoming a problem since I use my laptop computer for purposes of requiring home internet work.

Thanks in advance and I hope you guys can help!

I understand that you have a problem with your connection Wireless at home. You are able to connect with full bars but are unable to access the web.   When you're lucky hours just access the Web, you can make a download if you get started in time or play games online for one or two before again declining. You ran the diagnostic function, but no problems were. You had the phone replaced for the same issue, but the replacement has the same question.

You know your network is an 802.11 G or 802.11n.   How do I know if my WiFi connects using 802.11n (as superuser)

    Please check this setting.

    1. Open the Device Manager
    2. Click the network adapters to expand the list
    3. Right click on the Ethernet connection, and choose Properties
    4. Click the power management tab
    5. "" Please check that ' allow the computer to turn off this device to save power "is not checked.
    6. Repeat this process for all types of listed under network adapters.

  • How is it that a computer which works very well with a direct Ethernet connection won't work with a switch, however any other computer using the same port, cable, ect, and so on, can?

    Switch issues. Help, please.

How is it that a computer which works very well with a direct Ethernet connection won't work with a switch, however any other computer using the same port, cable, ect, and so on, can? We already checked the firewall as a question, that it was not, and now, we are puzzled.

Well, I know that the issue is long-term... believe me, it's a long, but as they say, the devil is in the details. Anywho, the question is, my grandfather has a HP laptop, which for two years has been able to run through a Linksys switch to his router and connect its printers to his laptop. About two months ago it suddenly doesn't work like that. Now, it works fine if it plugs directly into the router/Ethernet. My uncle suggested that the switch was bad, but after testing the same port, cable and all, the switch worked well for him. ' GRAMPS really needs this answered, but someone else, it is called can not understand and now I, in turn, ask you all for what you can offer. Here are the ideas that we have already discredited.

-Switch bad: as above, is that this particular laptop, even under identical conditions, the works of my uncle very well.
-Bad NIC: debunked through the fact we connected to the computer directly to the router and it worked fine.
-Bad configuration of the firewall: we have disabled the firewall (please do not notice, he wasn't the smartest idea, we already know) and even if she recorded the switch exists, the internet is always triggered when you are connected with the switch.

Thanks in advance for any assistance that you can provide and Merry Christmas to you all.

It would be useful to consult the results of the ipconfig/all command both when it is connected to the switch and when it is connected directly to the router.  In addition, what is the model of the switch?

To save the manual copy and the new hits of the ipconfig/all command output-

    First connect through switch.
Open a command prompt window (start > run > cmd > OK)
Type the following lines in the black command prompt window and press ENTER after each line

echo "Connected via the button" > "% UserProfile%\Desktop\ipinfo.txt".
    ipconfig/all > "% UserProfile%\Desktop\ipinfo.txt".

Now connect directly to the router, type the following lines in the command prompt window and press ENTER after each line

echo "Connected to the router" > "% UserProfile%\Desktop\ipinfo.txt".
    ipconfig/all > "% UserProfile%\Desktop\ipinfo.txt".
    Notepad '% UserProfile%\Desktop\ipinfo.txt '.
    output

Copy the contents of the Notepad window in your response (if you use the laptop when it is connected directly to the router) or close the Notepad window, and then copy ipinfo.txt of the laptop to the Gramps in a USB FlashDrive you can connect to any computer allows you to answer.

You can delete ipinfo.txt on the desktop when you are finished.

  • HP Laserjet M452dn: M452dn Ethernet connected but do not print

    Win10 Pro x 64.

Printer connects / impressions via USB but not via a direct Ethernet connection or through router.  Connection to printer Ethernet is not but installation disc is located by HP print and Scan by IP addfress doctor. Doctor says software not installed then DLs and installs the software - but still does not print.  Uninstalled and did the all over again: ditto. If again, doctor without uninstalling it (still) says not installed software - although it said it was installed before I ran it again.

Router/printer Ethernet connection is good (fire port on) and the IP displayed on the printer screen, so I guess that the connection of the cable Ethernet/is OK. Network/print sharing enabled residential group. Utility of Windows/HP ID troubleshooting any problems.

    Something else I could try.

    Thank you

    Monk

Hello @Hmonk the printer has two ways to be connected but we really recommend use one at a time if you are going to perform a network first installation you want to make sure that you have an IP address from the printer connect the network cable to the printer room will get internet brand of course, on the port on the back of the printer when you have connected cable has a green and the orange light and then go to the menu reports on the printer and print a configuration report right on the 1st page under product settings, you will find IPV4 you must subsequently make the installation at this time where everything you want to make sure, is that the IP address of its different then 0.0.0.0 or 169.254.XXX.XXX since these combinations indicates that the printer its does not properly connect to the network

  • DSL modem ethernet connection refuses to 'wake up' the system from hibernation?

My ActionTec dsl modem is driving me crazy - most of the time my system goes to sleep, prolonged wakes up EXCEPT the ethernet connection.  It seems to be the modem itself (previous modem didn't demonstrate this problem) and I have to because the thing to restore the connection.  Is that what I can do to force an awakening?

Examine the advanced properties of your NIC in windows network and make sure that it does not use an energy saving setting.

  • VISTA: cannot use my Ethernet connection

I use Thinkpad X 200 under Vista 32 bit, my ethernet card is Intel 82567LM.

I connect OK for wireless network, have never tried to connect to an ethernet connection before with this laptop. But when I did, it doesn't.

    What tests I've done:

    (1) manage the connection: connection to the LAN - State is 'ENABLED' (sorry I translate this from a Chinese OS, don't know if it's the right terminology, CONNECTED or DISCONNECTED)
-Right-click and enter in the properties-> IPv4 is checked, and in properties, all is get automatically
-Diagnose this connection-> he says "does not correctly configured to use the IP Protocol, please make sure that IP is correct" (translated)

    (2) I go into Device Manager and find the ethernet card and update the driver to the latest version. Uninstall the driver and let Windows reinstall it at startup-> still no luck.

    (3) IPCONFIG-> shows only TWO (should not be a?) Wireless WiFi and a Tunnel to the map (?) and ETHERNET adapter WITHOUT connecting to the LAN (VERY STRANGE).

    (4) when the ethernet cable is plugged in, the lights are on, so the port and the line must be good.

Could someone please help? Thank you! I'm really at the end of my intelligence...

    Hi Cody,

Thanks for your suggestion. Appreciated! It is portable to my friend, and after tried so methods and still not, she gave to solve to get a router to convert the wired connection to a wireless. Now she's happy with the connection that it becomes.

I guess I won't have a chance to try your suggestion a while later... Thanks anyway!

    Have a blessed Sunday.

  • Homer in Windows Server does not connect to the internet.

I installed Windows Home Server on a self-built media server. Everything on the hardware is working properly. The server software is installed. The ethernet line is connected to my Linksys router. The power light is on decision-making on the case ethernet connection. The power led is on the router where the ethernet is connected. So, in my view, that the issue is not material.
    Problems:
    1. the server does not connect to the internet.
    2. my computer does not recognize the server when I install the Windows Home Server Connector software.
    3. the wizard of Linksys on my computer does not recognize the server as a "new device".

I feel like I'm missing a driver, maybe a driver of ethernet controller, but do not know how to diagnose the problem.  I downloaded the Windows tool that identified the problems I listed, but solutions are not feasible.

    Any suggestions?
