Windows 7 problem on pentium 4 3.20 ghZ, RAM: 2 GB graphics and 1 GB.

I installed windows 7 Ultimate 32 bit on my Pentium 4 PC, 2 GB of RAM and 1 GB graphics card. but when I connect to the internet and start the browser [Firefox and chrome] PC becomes very slow and tabs open in the browser very slowly... My PC meets system requirements. and when I start opening browsers chess titans or while working, it does not work smoothly [enabling aero makes the same problem] what can I do?

Configuration of PC under XP:

The best thing you can do is update your RAM to 4 GB.  I think it's the max for your motherboard.   32-bit Windows will use out of total of 3.25 to 3.5, but there should always be a major help.  2 GB is a minimum for acceptable performance, especially with an older CPU.

Looking at this thread, it's probably an OptiPlex GX520 or GX620, use these drivers:

  • HP Pavilion dv7 LM726AV: upgrade Windows 10 problem

Running Windows 7 Edition Home Premium SP1 update.  Try to upgrade to Windows 10.  Never received 10 Windows icon in the taskbar.  Downloaded the file "GetWindows10" several times by going with HP Support Assistant and directly to the web page of MS Windows 10.  (Both lead to the same web page.)  When I double click on the file GetWindows10 it brings up a window asking if I want to run it.  I click on "Run" and it will immediately without doing anything.  No message on what could be the problem.  (I've already installed Windows 10 on laptop Dell woman with no problems.)  Because this Windows 7 came with my HP laptop, is there something different that prevents Windows 10 from loading?  Or any other suggestions?

    Paul,

Thank you very much it worked very well.  I write what happened in case someone else has this problem and reads this.  I went on the website of Windows 10 you recommended which was different from the one that I had been responsible for front.  This one also had a button for Windows 10 so I tried that first.  You download a file "GetWindows10" which was different from that of the other site.  However, he had the same results: she did nothing.  So, I went back on the site to create a DVD that you recommended.  I clicked on the tool of creation of media upload you a file to the media tool.  Opening this file has two options.  We want to install 10 Windows on this computer, and the other was to create a file that will be used on other computers.  I assumed it was just an option to download different ISO on DVD files.  I clicked on the installation of 10 Windows on this computer option and he proceeded to download Windows 10 and install it on the computer without the creation of a DVD.  He worked mainly as clicking the icon of Windows 10 that my wife had on his cell phone.  Why the "GetWindows10" file did not work and this process worked very well took place are a mystery to me.

  • Satallite A300-15A - driver on Windows 7 problems

I had a problem running Windows 7 to my Satellite A300-15 has (model No. PSAJ4E-00S00XAR).
Me and my friend tried Windows 7 on our laptops, my laptop model noted above, while his cell phone is from another manufacturer. After we have finished installing windows 7 on our laptop, all seems fine, most of the drivers of my laptop is already on the rise (Windows 7 provided the pilots already), then after a few reboots, my keyboard and the touchpad do not work anymore.

To find the problem, I used a USB mouse and went to the Device Manager, I discovered that the pilot of the touchpad is not detected, so I downloaded all the drivers that I can find on the support site (I had some knowledge about some basic troubleshooting), then after you have installed all the drivers respected, everything seems to be working again I rebooted and the same problem with the drivers came out.

I tried to download all the drivers available for my laptop in the support page, every time I install a new device driver, some other malfunction of pilots, most of the time it's the display driver, the keyboard and the touchpad.

My laptop is having problems of compatibility on windows 7? Or he got to do with my previous operating system (windows Vista premium edition) that is bundled with my laptop? Some say it has something to do with the Widget, if so, how can I get windows 7 OEM and my OS working on my laptop?

All comments and suggestions are greatly appreciated I want just to maximize the material of my laptop, windows vista only reads 3 GB of my RAM, and no matter how I change my Vista (remove unnecessary services, applications and processes.
He's still eating a minimum of 700 MB of my RAM, while my friends windows 7 eats approximately 450 to 700 MB of ram with some open applications (Firefox and yahoo messenger).

I really need these extra RAM for my multitasking and my school work (I m computer SCIENCE student).
I really need to be sure on how make Windows 7 works on my laptop.

As I can see that your laptop is fully supported with Win7 and on the Toshiba download page, you can find all the drivers, tools and utilities for Win7 32 bit.
So what you need to do is to make Win7 clean install and continue to install all the necessary drivers.
Please start by Storage Manager, display driver, driver sound driver chipset, LAN driver, modem driver and so on.

I guess my question is what I have to do a restore of the system under windows 7, before I can upgrade to windows 10? Or y at - it another way?

    Hello glockrow ;

Let me welcome you on the HP forums!

I read your post about windows update problems and wanted to help.

I would that be able to say that updating to Win10 was an exact science where we know exactly how he does it, and what it should - but the flooding of this and other instances of Win10 problem after that problem indicates that, at best, we are all guessing.

So, I think, from what I've read and done on my PC, is that you SHOULD be able to avoid the problem of missing updates by updating using Win10 created using this MS link media: 10 Windows Installer using the media - Windows help authoring tool

After you create the DVD or USB, NOT boot from it. Instead, insert it into your PC and, if it does not auto-start, right click on the file setup.exe and run it.

HOWEVER - and this is important - PC Win7 have a rate low success updated Win10 without problem - primariluy lack of OEM Win10 drivers.  Typical problems include display artifacts (to cause to be obliged to use the driver for the card of Microsoft Basic), not wireless and touchpad problems.  The drivers Microsoft provides have only the most basic features, with none of the extras that the HP drivers bring to the stage.

It is further complicated by the function Win10 GoBack, whereby you can return to your original operating system, being known to be unreliable. So when your upgrade machine malfunctioning, only then you discover that you cannot return the machine to work, that you had originally!

You can protect yourself against ending up with a damaged machine - seriously considering using a free third-party product that works for airport Imaging/restoration - Macrium Reflect.

Macrium reflect (MR) provides a FREE version that can be used to image and restore partitions or drives together.

What I recommend is the following:
    (1) download and install Macrium reflect (MR)
    (2) run M. and choose the option: "Create an image of the partition (s) required to backup and restore Windows" to write a full backup to an external drive or USB key
    (3) use the option to create a CD or a USB startup key

NOW, you have the means to restore a full system that works for the external hard drive or USB key in a few minutes.

So now you can recharge before with the upgrade, knowing that whatever happens, you will be able to return to your currently works in a few minutes.

    Good luck

I'm a volunteer and I do not work for, or represent, HP.

  • Performance T530 Windows 7 problem

    Hi all

I just got T530 core i7 with 8 GB of RAM, Win 7 ultimate and 128 GB SSD for my employer. Problem is the performance - experience very laggy and choppy on some web page complete (we use Nagios, system monitoring and mouse over the controls is a pain really in the... - tried last ie, firefox, chrome, each time the same).

Everything seems that laptop is in a kind of energy saving mode very hardcore - fan only or is not even spin in the work of 12 hours, out fan is not too much hotter than room temperature, but each installation of power management (including the latest lenovo Power Manager and the Windows one built-in) are in maximum performance mode.

I tried everything possible, playing with power management all the time, disable windows aero and stuff like that, as I mentioned - different browsers, even with a different setting in compatibility mode Windows, windows services on unnecessary sttoped and tasks and more, but nothing helps.

One thing speeds fan significant level - option to boost power in lenovo power management, but the performace stayed the same

As I said - I've got the machime of my employer, if the BIOS is locked. Made me thinking that if it is not present a kind of power also, is it?

It drives me crazy. Thanks for all the help guys.

Hi again, thanks for the answers. In fact, I found a solution! I realized that poor performance on a full web page is present only on some elements of the page (text, links, etc.), on the blank spots, it behaves normally. So I went to properties of mouse pointers in the Panel, off all types of windows aero pointers and especially - disabled the check 'Enable shadow of pointers' and boom, everything works fine now! Photo: http://www.imagebam.com/image/ce35a6227240745 it's very strange, believe it or not, but this bit made me crazy for 2 (working) days :-)

  • Envy 14 update of windows 8 1050ca, graphics and audio problems.

After the installation of windows 8, my graphics and audio drivers are two no-shows. "This device cannot start.

I noticed the thread referenced here for this problem of graphics and we tried everything suggested this back and forth so far without success. In General, if compatibility is set to windows 7, as suggested, it never even finished installing. Just, it freezes and sits there indefinitely.

Is there something else to what can be done? I love this computer, I have always been happy with the HP, but this poor thing is useless for me with no graphics capability sound and only very little while both cards apparently burn simultaneously. I had problems with drivers before, but he has never been much of a dead-end.

    Help? Anyone?

    Solved my problem.

  • Display LCD with Windows 7 problem

Since I installed Windows 7, my LCD seems 'shift' from time to time so that all graphics, icons, etc. are blurred, looking as if half of the image is moved to the right or the left.

I tried to run video, and other display settings of bugs on my card and no problems are detected.

    What else could be?

    Try:

-map updated graphics drivers and the monitor to the latest Windows 7 of those.

-Search in the manual of your monitor and find its native resolution and refresh rate (for example, 1920 x 1080 at 60 Hz). Try these settings.

-Check that the video cable is plugged at both ends.

    -a different video cable.

-check that the graphics card has been inserted in its housing.

If you post back please provide the following information. :

    -graphics card brand & model

    -monitor & model making

-used video connection type (e.g., DVI, HDMI, VGA)

-The version of Windows you are using (e.g. Windows 7 Home Premium 32 - Bit).

Hi GuruAid - CS and Acer supports,

Thanks a lot to you two for your answer to my problem. The response from the Acer Support where for me first and I did not lose any time, applied the suggested steps. Support Acer mail 14/10 got to me and I waited my answer for the following reasons:

As I mentioned in my original post, this problem has been with me for a while in which I had some Tech Guy (3) looking at my PC and the 'fixing' of the problem. Two days later he was back again. This was the case in all three fixing operations. If I didn't like my Acer Aspire so, that would have been when I was ready to buy a new computer. But, as I said, I am satisfied with the machine - it is the fastest and most powerful I got sofar and I bought my first PC in 1996 - and was reluctant to "abandon ship."

I can an episode with Microsft. About5 weeks I contacted Microsoft technical support and has been in contact with one of their technical support people. Apparently they charge for this service and they demanded $99 for it. When they took the number and my name on my credit card down, they made a small error in the spelling of my last name. I pointed out to them, but Visa had already pulled the plug on this transaction attempt and had cancelled the card at a time. I had to get a new credit card and did not attempt to communicate with Windows again.

I finally thought to this forum and only wish I thought of it earlier. Since 14/10 I had NO recurrence of this problem!

After having so many false hopes, I hesitated to write after a few days the problem has been resolved. I got at least 30 starts and stops since then and there is no problem. After following the instructions Acer supports. I do, however, I keep GuruAids suggests measures on hand - just in case :-))

So, thank you again for your excellent advice and quick help. I can't get the smile off my face :-)))

    Best regards

Go to your computer manufacturer's support web site and search for Windows 7 drivers for your specific model number.

If there are Windows 7 drivers, then to download to a folder on your hard drive and install all of them, starting with the card drivers mother/chipset, LAN, Audio, USB, SATA, etc, and so on.
