Windows 7 sees no hard drive in the installation program

MB: Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD3R

BIOS recognizes the hard drive SATA and IDE is set.

HD is installed in channel 6.

Hard drive was working fine before I reformated using the installation disc and am not convinced that it is a hard drive failure.

I can access the drive on CMD in the full version of Windows 7 dvd.

I reformatted the hard drive from the RAW to NTFS format, but did not have any partitioning prior to formatting. I don't know how to partition on a Virgin HD no OS.

The MB is assigned to the IDE is really a driver problem?

It is as if Windows 7 does not recognize it as a hard drive.

I'm totally ideas and I think it's a simple solution that I don't know how or where to look.

He solved.

What I did this from the site Microsoft...

Method 8: Use the Diskpart.exe utility to clean the disk, and then run the Windows Installer again

If you have tried all the methods that are listed in this section and the problem persists, use the Diskpart.exe utility to clean the disk, and then run the Windows Setup program again.

Note Use this method only if you want to perform a new installation of Windows. When you clean the hard disk, it is formatted. All data on the hard drive and all the partitions are deleted permanently. We strongly recommend that you back up the files on the hard disk before cleaning the disc.

To use the Diskpart.exe utility to clean the hard disk, follow these steps:

  1. Insert the DVD into the DVD drive.
  2. On the disk selection screen, press SHIFT + F10. A command prompt window opens.
  3. Type diskpart and press ENTER to open the diskpart tool.
  4. Type list disk and press ENTER. A list of available hard disks.
  5. Drive of salt of type number , and then press ENTER. number is the number of the hard disk you want to clean. The hard drive is now selected.
  6. Type det disk, and then press ENTER. A list of partitions on the hard disk. This information is used to verify that the correct drive is selected.
  7. Make sure that the disk does not contain required data, type clean all and then press ENTER to clean the disk. All partitions and all data on the disc is removed entirely.
  8. Type exit and press ENTER to close the diskpart tool.
  9. Close the command prompt window.
  10. Click the Refresh button to update the disk selection screen. This step lists the disk. (I installed the driver in this step)
  11. Restarted the computer because the interface was giving me errors.
  12. Run Windows Setup to perform a new installation of Windows.

original title: installation of Windows 7

    Hey Joe,

I suggest that you visit the gigabyte website for your region (and/or the site global http://www.gigabyte.com/?f=g ) and check your motherboard for compatibility with Windows 7.

The problem you are experiencing would imply that Windows 7 has no native driver support for your disk controller, so if Gigabyte don't have drivers that you are locked unless you buy a discreet disk controller that is compatible Windows 7.

Please mark this as useful or response if applicable.

On the other hand, you have this posted in a forum of Windows XP when it is really a problem of Windows 7.

  • Installation of Windows 2003: cannot find hard drive during the installation units

    Hello

I found a strange question here...

ESXi 4.0 installed on DELL R710 with 2 processors E55xx.

Then we try to install a virtual machine with Windows 2003.

The installation cannot continue because the virtual machine cannot detect the disk (virtual disk).

Are we have to use specific drivers (as the old way install Windows Server 2003 on the physical, press F6, and then insert the drivers for drivers, etc2)

    Please advice...

I have attached the error and the configuration of the VM

For Windows 2003, the default controller is the parallel of LSI Logic. For this one, the drivers are already included in Windows 2003.

Guess he would seek software/drivers for the chipset MB

& sata/IDE controller software. Get the MB hardware specifications, go to the mfg

Web site & download the software and drivers. If intel, download the chipset installation

utility & install it 1. The other would be the SATA or / and drivers for the MB IDE

controllers, 'Matrix Storage console' would be the one, also chk for desktop

Internet downloads, amd, and other brand materials would be substantially the same.

  • How to reinstall windows 8 in new HARD drive using the old product key?

    Mr President.

One of my clients purchased a new HP Envy 6 - 1150ex running integrated windows 8 64-bit a month ago. Unfortunately the HARD drive broke down by the improper use and must be replaced. I replaced the HARD drive, but I can't find the product key original of the laptop unless you have small windows on the laptop sticker. given that I don't have the recovery for the same model disk how can I install the genuine windows 8 manually by using the product key? where can I find the product key?  Please help me.

    Kind regards

    Yoyo

    Hello

Should be no problem at all if you use the version of Windows 8 EVEN because the product key is now embedded in the BIOS of the machine. The process is to get the right installation of Windows 8 media (DVD, USB, downloaded file) and then install on your client computer. No label/sticker more for all new machines with Windows pre-installed 8.

Please see the following link for more information.

  • recognize the hard drive in the installation of windows

I saw a couple of discussions on the same issue, but I've never really seen any resolution.

Basically the hard drive died on a 400 XPS that has one of my friends.  Don't not tech trend may it staring at me.  He has unfortunately had no CD.  Leaving that issue behind, I acquired a replacement hard drive and when I go to install it on windows, windows will not recognize the player as being there to install on.

Now I realize that I have to press F6 to load drivers to allow windows to see the SATA drive.  His point that escapes me.   I can't find the drivers to be able to do.  The dell with the drivers page doesn't seem to have what I'm looking for, unless I'm totally their lack which I won't deny is possible.

So basically I'm looking for assistance in finding these drivers told to reinstall windows.

  • Satellite Pro U300: Cannot see the HARD drive during the installation of XP

Due to the restrictions of the network must downgrade the operating system on a new satellite Pro U300. I am unable to run the XP + sp2 cd as it says there is no hard drive installed on the machine. I guess it's because I need 3 scsi drivers or third-party raid.

Does anyone have these or know a place where I can get my hands on them? Or am I completely off the mark that you have another solution?

    Hello

You need the Intel Matrix Storage Management utility for the management of your local storage, including the RAID support.

On the European driver Toshiba page I found Robson tea for Vista package which includes the Intel Matrix Storage Management utility.

The same can be downloaded from the Intel page for the XP operating system.

I found this on the page of Intel:

  • Satellite A200 PSAE6E: no HARD drive during the installation of XP

    Hi Vandeven,

I have the same laptop that you are, but I have difficulty to get Windows XP to recognize the hard drive.
It keep saying there is no hard drive detected.

    I don't have a floppy drive either.

Is there another way to install Windows XP without the SATA Driver?
My bios is 2.10 and I can switch to a different bios it wont let me. Keep saying bad Bios!. But isn't.

Please help as I am sick and I tried Windows Vista...
    Programs slow and inconsistent.

    Thank you much in advance.

Why you n t use the forum advanced search option and search for similar topics?

Installing driver SATA doesn't concern only the A200 series.
On most new notebook Series SATA, driver installation is necessary.

In any case if you want to use the search option, then you would find this Toshiba document:

Hay @ all. My name is ahmet.

I'm from the Germany. I have a problem.

I bought a toshiba laptop and I think it's a very good laptop.
But I don't like Vista. It uses to much space, much grafic and a lot more.
So I tried to install my old windows XP Professional sp2. Here's the problem:

During installation, Xp procres say there is no hard drive.
Hmm, I thought I should have a look on other forums. There, they said to integrate a sata driver on the xp cd.
But I don't understand the using nLite to use.

Could you show me how I had to reinstall my old XP?
I have a lot of files to my laptop and I change some settings in Vista so that I could not use internet.
If I want to reinstall vista with the recovery cd, it would remove all folders, photo ect.
I use only my other old computer.

I would be very happy if you could help me.
Thank you very much!!! If you have an answer I would be too happy

    Hello

The nLite is a freeware program that helps you to integrate the SATA (Intel matrix Storage Manager) driver in the original XP operating system.

If you want to know how to use nLite software, then glasses a bit.
There are many websites that explain how to use nLite.

(Driver SATA) Intel Storage Manager can be downloaded from the Toshiba driver page.

Last month, I created a new XP CD using the nLite.
I've included a few pilots, SP2 and some patches it of really not very difficult.

As I said... Scope of protection is a key ;)

  • How to bind a previous installation on another HARD drive to the creative program cloud on new OS

    Hello
So I installed a few clouds creative programs like after effects on my computer in a folder I made called E:\CreativeApps.

I have reset my OS on my C:\ drive so there a new version of windows. (In other words: C:\ had CC Manager & E:\ had after effects install files, etc)

I installed the program Creative cloud again (on the new OS) and I can't open after fine effest from the installation E:\CreativeApps directory.

But CC program displays not "installed or day or trial" sayts It they aren't installed.

I tried to move the path in the preferences on my old bones, but it does not analyze the directory to see if the programs are there.

I have the feeling that maybe something with the registry or something similar because the prgram didn't really say its installed or what version it is.

Is it possible to connect it back, so I don't know if there will be an update to it or what I have to spend another 2-10 GB to re-download the programs on top of eachother just to see if there is an update.

    Thank you

You can not 'repeat' that kind of thing.  It is stored in various files *.db Adobe (OPM.db, caps.db) and only a correct installation put the correct information there. In any case, it's a moot point. As long as the apps work you do not miss anything. Major updates will be probably important enough to notice...
