Windows 7 Upgrade stuck

Hey all,.

I'm upgrading to Vista Business 64-bit for Windows 7 Professional 64 bit.

Before installing, I ran Windows upgrade advisor and everything went well. However, I am currently stuck at the "transfer of files, settings, and programs.

First of all it would show: "Please Wait."
Then: "installation of devices and setting in place of your system"

Then it repeats. I know there is a problem with her being stuck at 63%, but mine does not appear even a percentage.  This shows simply «...» ». The installation was cut like this for the last 3 hours. I don't have to be plugged into my computer and more my mouse, keyboard, and monitor.

My specs are:
CPU: Intel Q6600
Motherboard: Gigabye GA-EP45-UD3P
RAM: 8gigs

Any help would be appreciated

Try to wait more than a few hours, mine was at this stage for 4 hours before he began to show the percentage. Also, make sure that you actually followed all the recommendations as remove drivers ATI Radeon, disabling antivirus before moving to Win 7.

  • Upgrade Windows 7 to Windows 10. "Prepare your upgrade" stuck on 99%

It is 99% the "preparing your updates" for some time last night, so I left it on all night. When I got home this morning. He was still stuck on 99%. I had the same thing happen a month or two ago when I tried to download and it got stuck, but after awhile, I got frusterated and abandoned. This cannot be normal. What should I do?

    Hello

Simply answer a few additional questions to better understand the issue:

    1. How do you try to upgrade to Windows 10 (via the Windows updates or media creation tool)?
    2. Have you installed a third-party anti-virus security software?

The upgrade process may stop prematurely due to the presence of security installed third-party anti-virus software or external devices connected to the computer

Method 1: Remove all external devices except the mouse and keyboard and boot your PC to check if the boot sequence is not interrupted.

If your PC starts without any problems, connect the external device disconnected one after the other and check which device is causing the conflict. Updated the driver software for this specific device that caused the problem and check whether the problem is resolved.

Method 2: sometimes the upgrade can be interrupted by the antivirus installed on the PC security software. Uninstall security antivirus software installed on the PC and then upgrade to Windows 10.

Disclaimer : Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you need to disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network, while your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.

Method 3: you can download and install Windows 10 via the media creation tool by downloading the ISO image on an external upgrade flash player and activate the operating system on the computer.

Note: install the latest Windows updates and update all device drivers to avoid disruption during the installation of Windows 10.

  • My Windows 7 Upgrade is still stuck at 62%, even after downloading the patch Microsoft Fix It several times.

I tried several times to upgrade to Windows 7 Windows Vista Home Premium. It goes through all the steps, but at the last stage, at 62 he gets stuck, then stops, restarts and said then the upgrade has failed and that Windows Vista will be restored.
I found several sites that give a link to a Microsoft Fix It tool that should take care of this problem. I downloaded this patch Fix It, but the upgrade is still stuck at 62%. What can I do on this please?

If possible, try to do a restore of Windows Vista and try the following:

1 disable any security software before you attempt to upgrade or do a clean install.
    2. make sure that your computer is updated (devices and applications)
    3. disconnect all external devices before installing.
    4. check your hard disk for errors:
    Click Start
Type: CMD, according to the results, right-click CMD
    Click on "Run as Administrator"
At the command prompt, type: chkdsk /f /r
When you restart your system, your computer will be scanned for errors and will try to correct them.

In addition, run the Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor, it will scan your system and provide a report telling you if your PC can run Windows 7, and if there is no compatibility problems with your hardware or programs.

  • Windows 7 to Windows 10 Upgrade - system did not recognize the activation code.

Original title: Windows 7 to Windows 10 Upgrade

I bought a refurb (HP3115m) computer clips that were preinstalled Windows 7 Professional that I have upgraded to Windows Pro 10. I have not used the computer for a while - more than 30 days. When I came back to it, asked me an activation code, I have, but the system does not recognize it. I called the people of refurb and they gave me another product code, but that doesn't work anymore. They told me it was a MS problem and nothing to do with them, but now I'm stuck because it does not go back to Windows 7 and the old Windows files have disappeared from my hard drive. It's so boring.

  • HP Pavilion & "Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor came across a problem.

Windows 7 would work on my laptop (HP Pavilion dv6132eu)?

So I used "Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor" of the Microsofts. Which caused the error "Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor stumbled into a problem that your scanning devices. Upgrade Advisor needs to be able to scan your devices to determine whether your computer is capable of running Windows 7 ".

The laptop is probably not good enough for Windows 7, why?

I assumed, the Upgrade Advisor would tell me, what pieces of hardware is / are not specific to Windows 7.

In a forum Technet, say, the Adviser is blocked by some HP hardware. Which?

    Best regards, Willem

    My problem has been resolved.

Previously, the problem with "Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor BETA.

I waited two months - now, I executed the Adviser again, resulting in "an important upgrade".

And guess: update Advisor works like a rocket, finishing with a nice report with minor problems.

So I think that the problem was a "Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor" - problem - not a HP computer laptop-problem.

    Hello world

    Question 1:
Last week, I got my Windows 7 Upgrade DVD from Toshiba. I'm leaving has upgrade and after 5 hours, the upgrade was complete. I have encountered a problem that the automated driver installed on the endgame wrong on the update of the BIOS because it is trying to write the backup file of the BIOS on the DVD. After a lot of pressure on the keys, I managed to get the installation to carry and then did the BIOS manually updated later. This succeeded and it updated to V4.80.

Since the update of the BIOS, the fan noise is much stronger. I noticed it's from the fan that is to the right of the envelope, I guess it is the CPU fan. The fan that blows air on the left side of aeration wors as usual. Any suggestions? Should I get the BIOS, if so, how can I restore from the file BIOS.bak WinPHlash is?
