Hello
I just installed a new router and now my desktop running xp computer does not connect to the internet. I know that it is not the router because I plugged the cable into my laptop running 7 and it works fine. When I try to dhcp I get 169..., when I put manually the IP just get no access to the internet and can not ping to the router address. I tried to run the net work Assistant, emptied my dns, disabled all firewals, still nothing.Any suggestions?original title: connectivity LimetedThe zero configuration utility works very well. But it is a desktop computer and on cable. All other wired and wireless PC in the office is working well, then it's definitely this PC. He came out of nowhere, I install a network printer on the PC but that's all.
Your messages are a bit terse, but if I understand correctly
- You have a router connected to the Internet and multiple computers connected to the router, some Ethernet cable and others by wireless.
- All but one of these computers can reach successfully from the Internet via the router.
- A computer that can't browse the Internet is connected to the router via an Ethernet cable.
- You disconnected the cable between the router and the desktop problem and connected it to a Windows 7 laptop and the laptop connected to the Internet via the router.
- You haven't seen any error message (except, perhaps, a message on "Limited or no connectivity").
- You have installed Windows XP Service Pack 3 (or at least Service Pack 2)
Assuming that all the foregoing is an accurate summary of the situation, I suggest that you do the following:
Open a command prompt window (start > run > cmd > OK)
Type the following lines and press ENTER after each lineNetsh reset winsock catalog
netsh int ip reset c:\resetlog.txtClose the command prompt window and restart the computer.

I built a new PC (Windows 7) and trying to connect to the internet with a CAT6 Ethernet cable. The computer doesn't seem to recognize its there and has not downloaded, so I can not connect, what do I do?
Hi Cody,
1. What is the brand and model of router/modem?
2. have you used the anothet ethernet cable?

Hello!
I am working on a Dell Inspiron 1300 laptop for a friend. She has Windows HP Home Edition, SP3 installed.
He said that Saturday night he started to act funny and wouldn't connect to the Internet. There were a few popups then begins, and he did not know if they were connected to not go on the Internet.
He had the rootkit.zeroaccess infection. I used Combofix to remove it. It won't always get on the Internet, either via a wi - fi or ethernet connection.
Looking at the event viewer, I see event ID 7003, "the TCP/IP protocol driver service depends on the non-existent service below: IPSec."
Then, event 7001, "(NLA) network location awareness service depends on the service protocol driver TCP/IP which could not start due to the following error: the dependency service does not exist or has been marked for deletion.".I copied ipsec.sys from another XP Home machine which worked and stuck in the Windows\System32\drivers directory and it still does not work.
Any ideas are greatly appreciated!

With the help of a mini switch to connect all the computers in my home. Painted the room and unplugged the switch of the surge protector. Never feel the wired connection on the laptop won't work. It does not even show the LAN in the Device Manager. My WIRELESS card is there, but not the eithernet. Tried reloading driver computer and online. Performed a system restore and system recovery. Spent 2 hours with the help of HP, but was unable to come up with a solution. Internet connection still works with other computers. Someone at - it ideas?
Hello:
Unfortunately, HP does not have manuals containing the BIOS for their notebooks to consumer based settings.
So I suggest only looking for these parameters if they are available anywhere in one of your menus of the BIOS.
1 LAN power saving Mode. Make sure it is set to off if you use the local network with your laptop NOT connected to an electrical outlet.
2 LAN/WLAN switching. Set to off to view your map network cable permanently. When this setting is enabled, your wireless adapter turns off automatically when you connect a LAN cable and visa versa.
If your laptop does not have one of these settings and your NETWORK card has disappeared, then more than likely he suffered some type of hardware failure.

Hi DamonBrigham,-What exactly happens when you connect to the Internet? You get an error message or error code? If Yes, indicate the same.-Do you have a cable or a wireless connection? If this is a wired connection, try starting mode safe mode with network and check if you can connect to the Internet successfully.Networking Mode safe mode starts Windows in mode safe mode and includes the network drivers and services needed to access the Internet or other computers on your network.
See this link for instructions on the boot safe mode with networking:

I can connect if I use a cable, but its disadvantages.
I can connect wirelessly with my PC and Ipad. and Internet access.

Homer in Windows Server does not connect to the internet.
I installed Windows Home Server on a self-built media server. Everything on the hardware is working properly. The server software is installed. The ethernet line is connected to my Linksys router. The power light is on decision-making on the case ethernet connection. The power led is on the router where the ethernet is connected. So, in my view, that the issue is not material.
Problems:
1. the server does not connect to the internet.
2. my computer does not recognize the server when I install the Windows Home Server Connector software.
3. the wizard of Linksys on my computer does not recognize the server as a "new device".I feel like I'm missing a driver, maybe a driver of ethernet controller, but do not know how to diagnose the problem. I downloaded the Windows tool that identified the problems I listed, but solutions are not feasible.
Any suggestions?

I worked on the Web site of our Church and all of a sudden this week, my computer does not connect to the site. I get a message saying that the connection to the server was reset while the page is loading. Can anyone has any ideas on how I fix?
The error message "the connection was reset" can be caused by a bug for the attack of the BEAST fix (browser exploit against SSL/TLS) that the server does not support.

I have a HP G60 Notebook PC with Windows Vista Home Premium, it is about 4 years old. I recently got a new Cisco Linksys E1500 wireless router, which is connected to my home computer. My laptop shows that it is connected to the home network, but it does not connect to the internet. Other laptops in the House are able to connect to the network and to the internet. Mine seems to be the only one not working do not. Why it is not working? What should I do about it?
I ran the network diagnostics. It is said "a problem with you network router or modem broadband could prevent an internet connection." I have disconnected these two and tried again. It did not work! I have also connected my laptop directly on the modem and it does not always connect to the internet. I tried to reset the network card. My IP settings are set to automatic.
My internet connection was not a problem before last week (when I got a new router). What is the problem with my computer? Help, please!
Hello:
If you have an Atheros wireless adapter in your PC and you have not updated the driver, I recommend that you install it.
Wireless adapters Atheros with former pilots, dislikes the new Linksys routers.
If you have an Atheros wireless card, and your wireless driver is more than 2 years, I am very confident that this will solve your connection problem.

Z580 does not connect to the Internet at the beginning
I recently bought a laptop Lenovo Z580, I'm running Windows 7 on it, and the problem it is that it does not connect to the Internet initially once I start my computer, although I will be connected to the LAN. When I try to diagnose the problem, I get the error message below.
"Your computer seems to be configured correctly, but the device or resource (DNS server) does not.
If I run the diagnostic tool for a couple of times, the problem is resolved automatically (and not by the Diagnostic tool). This problem does not occur with my friends that connect to the same network.
I had a similar problem and it was mcafee, I now run kaspersky and the internet is instant.

My desktop under Vista Home Premium does not connect to the internet.
I have an Acer Aspire X 1200 desktop equipped with a NVIDIA NForce network controller. About 1 week ago I was browsing the internet, Norton anti-virus popped up and told me to renew my subscription. Now, I've never had Norton on my computer and when you click Remind Me later, my internet crashed. Now the whenever I plug my ethernet cable in the box, it connects to my router Motorola 5BS101 surfboard, but it does not connect to the Internet. I am running Windows Vista Home Premium. I tried to run malware programs remover, thinking it was a malware, nothing done. I tried to run to remove virus and nothing. I tried to change the IP address to my my laptop was broadcasting, because the internet runs on it, but no results. When using the command prompt to find out what the problem is, it says the active IP routing: routing WINS unactivated: No. looking at the stats of network adapters, it says active DHCP: No. address IPv6 local link: fe80::15f9:58e2:c2d8:66e7 10%
Autoconfiguration IPv4: 169.254.102.231. Also using ipconfig / renew, said the message DHCP is not enabled. Are you sure you never had a Norton trial subscription on your computer?
Norton will do strange things.

Try to use the Norton removal tool.
The computer you are using now if you have an Internet connection with the other > download / save > copy to Flash Drive > transfer / install it and launch it on the other computer.
See you soon.
