Windows 8 to 10 of Windows upgrade
I bought my CPU about a year on EBAY. It had been renovated and was a good price. I had problems with the product of 1 day (it happened with a cooling fan which broke to detach it from its support during transport). The seller replaced the fan with a new one (for free, of course) & I was hoping it would be that. He said that the CPU had a "new installation" of Windows 8 However, after investigation, I realized that it had not removed the previous owners (1-2 GB) files. At some point (yet), I found an app that was supposed to control windows to see if it was authentic & he said mine was not. I need to double check to make sure that is correct, but my question is this; If it is not true what can I do? Have no recourse against the seller at this point? What should I do when I'm ready to upgrade to Windows 10?
Hello
Thank you for visiting Microsoft Community.
According to the description, I understand that you want to know if your Windows is authentic or not. I will definitely help you with this.

HP Envy Notebook m6-1125dx: no problems with the HP Envy m6 at 10 Windows upgrade?
I plan the upgrade of Windows 10 of my HP ENVY m6-1125dx Notebook PC (Intel Core i5 - 3210M CPU) and need to know if this computer will be compatible with Windows 10. Because the HP support Web site now requires a scanning system to report on the drivers available, I have no way of knowing if there are any drivers Windows 10 available (or if they are still required). I thought that maybe I could send an e-mail or chat with HP to see what they have to say, but they want $60 to answer a question!
Please let know us if anyone has experience (good or bad) with 10 of Windows upgrade for th want m6.
Hüffer,
Just an update... I followed your advice and installed upgrading on-site instead of clean, and everything seems to work fine. The only real glitch, I met was the trackpad settings have been changed which because of many problems, but I could attack while going in the Synaptics Control Panel and reset everything to the way I like them.
Thanks again for the help and I'll review it "resolved".

BSOD after windows upgrade from Home Premium to Vista Ultimate
Hello
I have a brand new A200 - TH1 comes with Vista Home Premium installed Edition. I had to install Vista Ultimate to get the job in Sql Server 2005 Reporting SERVICES. Upgrade Windows at all times managed without problems or errors. The problem is that my system gets now BSOD about 20 times a day. Its extremely unstable. I have restored to Home Premium using recovery disks, everything is stable until I apply vista ultimate improvement. I tried the upgrade without having to install any other software, shortly after my system crashes with BSOD 0 x 00008086. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Vista Business Edition would be the surface, but there is no upgrade for this. I am very confused as to why a skeleton of the system from vista home premium to vista ultimate would cause my sysytem so unstable... IF I run the windows upgrade advisor it says the following: (I installed the lastest 4965AGN driver and Bluetooth supplied with the system is the last available (5.0.1023.0)

After you install Windows Vista, this device will require an updated driver. For the latest driver, go to the Web site of the manufacturer of the device or contact you the retailer.Numtxpackets® Wireless WiFi Link 4965AGN
Before you install Windows Vista, go to the device manufacturer's Web site to download the latest driver for this device. After you install Windows Vista, install the registered driver.Any help would be greatly appreciated...
Hello Jack
I imagine that you have these problems, because a few months ago, I read an interesting article on this update and it was written on possible problems after the upgrade procedure. I installed a few times Ultimate on my A200 but as new installation.
What you can try is to install the OS by using recovery media, delete all the stuff designed by Toshiba, including all other software like Norton. After doing this upgrade brand.
When the upgrade is complete, install all the stuff of Toshiba order following facilities described in the instructions for Installations. I A200 with Vista Home Premium but I don't have a media Anytime upgrade and cannot test with my Satellite.

Please let know us if there is a download available.

Hello
Depends on hardware configuration required on later operating systems, and also find out if the manufacturer of the laptop computer is supported and provides drivers for operating systems later as to whether it is possible or feasible to upgrade or not.
There is no free upgrade or discounted Vista to 7, 8.1, or 10.

I want to install Windows 7 Professional. I ran the Windows Upgrade Advisor, and he told me that I can upgrade to Windows 7 Home Premium and Ultimate. Why not professional? Or is this correct?
You can still install Windows 7 Pro, but it requires a custom installation. This will remove all your programs (you will need to reinstall them), but you can save your files and settings to external storage before doing so.
If you want to make a place in the upgrade you will need Home Premium or Ultimate.

Aurora R4 fans operating at 100% after 10 Windows upgrade
After upgrading my Aurora R4 for Windows 10 I suddenly after a week suddenly had problems with my control center and control of fans and lighting.
When I turn on my Alienware fans go to 100% speed and stays there. No control of the fans in the command center, also not able to control them manually.
Tried to reinstall the center of command several times. versions 3.5 and 3.6. Also tried the drain of power between UN-installing and installation. BIOS is A11.
Summer contemplating the purchase of a new Council MIO but reading other messages I do not his failure as it seems that most of the issues related to the fans operating at 100% is related to the Windows upgrade 10. I tried running MIO diagnostic tools, but it will not work through the test.
There is a blue light until then in left corner of the members of the IMU.
My understanding is that the MIO card is connected via a USB port on the motherboard. What is problems with the origin of this problem USB driver?
Does anyone know if Dell is working on a fix for this?
Any help would be much appreciated!
Thank you
KO
I have same exact problem on my R4 Aurora just upgraded to Windows 10. I think it is a bug in the controller of Alienware Dell must fix as soon as possible (but probably will not fix soon, or never). It is not your MIO Board, because many others have this same problem and I do not think that all these maps MIO just failed at the same time.
I hope that Dell reads these forums because we do need a software fix for this.
You can use a workaround and launch control center and go to the thermal control. Adjust the fans from automatic to manual at a set speed or use the curve. Then restart. It should pump fans several times on how to start and stop, but after starting the fans should settle.
Also sleep no longer works on Windows 10 on the R4. Put the PC to sleep works for a few minutes but he then wakes up and will not fall asleep. Too bad Dell certified the R4 for windows 10 prematurely. I would have never improved my Windows 7 Pro I knew all these problems existed.

Windows upgrade offer - lost product key
Hello world
So here is my dilemma - I have a Toshiba laptop that came pre-installed with Windows 7 Home Premium, when I bought it in October 2012. At the time, Microsoft was running a promotion called the Windows upgrade offer (http://www.windowsupgradeoffer.com), where, if you had purchased an eligible PC/Laptop, you could buy an upgrade to Windows 8 just AU $ 14.99.Later, Microsoft ran a promotion where you can receive a free media center upgrade which allows you to install Windows Media Center.Unfortunately, I lost the product key Windows 8 original I had received the supply of Windows 8 upgrade - and my laptop has been infected with a virus. I figured I'd just best to re - install Windows 8 by using the option "remove all and reinstall Windows" in the Windows 8 Control Panel. He was able to reinstall Windows, but asked me to enter a product key. Due to the fact that I could not find my product key, I used Belarc Advisor to find my product key, just before I went ahead with the process of re-installing. Bit I didn't, the product key that Belarc Advisor found was in fact Windows 8 with the product key for Media Center.Thus, Windows won't let me activate, as the Setup is 'Windows 8 Pro', not 'Windows 8 Pro with Media Center'.I contacted Microsoft via Twitter, phone (technical support, billing/accounts, activations and Microsoft Store departments) and live chat, those who have no record of my purchase. I still have the Windows upgrade offer promo ID and registration confirmation number I received in an email to * address email is removed from the privacy *, but they prove to be useless for support teams. Also the use of the Windows command summary site (http://mswos.com) does not seem to show my order.Is that what I am able to do?Try contacting Microsoft, once again, that is your best option;

Photosmart B110a: eprint problems after Windows upgrade 10
The printer lives in my office, plugged into a Mac. My laptop connects wireless to it. You use Windows 7, the laptop could connect to it as a network printer via the Mac, which required that the Mac be turned on, or directly using eprint, requiring only the printer. After upgrading to Windows 10 I re-installed the printer as a network printer and everything's fine but eprint does not at all. I downloaded the latest version and I get a 'eprint + Jetadvantage' device in my list of installed printers, but if I select to print anything it either nothing happens. The call to the top properties of the printer shows an error message saying "eprint driver is not installed on this computer. You want to install it now? ». This leads to a "pilot Add Printer Wizard" which lists a driver of HP eprint. Try to install this product a message that I am about to add the following driver "HP ePrint, x 86, Type 3 - User Mode" but nothing seems to happen and I still get the missing pilot error. I uninstalled and reinstalled several times without success. I ran the HP Scan doctor and print, but it can't even connect to the eprint printer.
Any notice received with gratitude.
Hello @Ticfan,
Welcome to the HP support forums.
I understand that after upgrading to Windows 10 that you can no longer use the driver ePrint.
The first thing I want to address is the "ePrint + Jetadvantage".
It is not the driver ePrint have you need or want. I will not go into too many details about it, but it's a commercial product and the Photosmart B110a is not supported. It would be best to uninstall this piece of software.
The following link will take you to the correct driver.
You can select 64 or 32 bits depending on your operating system.
I'm curious about something. How is the printer is not on a local network with other devices? How is it, you chose to go through the Mac? Why not have the printer on Wifi and having the laptop connect without having to go through the Mac? Maybe I'm missing a part of the installation, but this seems more complicated then it must be.

WLAN / WiFi problem after 10 Windows upgrade
After an upgrade to Windows 10, WiFi seems to have been turned off, and when I try to activate it with Fn + F8, it says I need to activate the WiFi switch but there is no physical switch WiFi on this laptop model. And no luck trying to activate it right click on the adapter, via Windows GUI or the WiFi icon on the keyboard.
Tried to install the latest drivers for Realtek WiFi adapter Toshiba and the Toshiba system driver but no luck either.
I think that this issue may not be specific to the Win10 upgrade... Opportunity experienced by those who have upgraded to Windows 8, but impossible to find all the topics with a quick search.
Anyone know how I can be able to work around this problem?
Thank you.

I have the same problem, but my work around is to go to my program leader, Toshiba, Flashcard, button Support and click on TBSWireless. The WiFi icon will toggle on and off this icon. For me that only turns on the WiFi light, I then use the Fn/F8 key to activate the wifi. To check it works I have remove the LAN plug. It may be useful
