Windows 8 to pass DSS

I recently built my first computer and installed windows 8 Pro top, now I'm looking to transfer my operating system from my hard drive to a new SSD. Unfortunately, I do not know how to go on the transfer of the BONE or re install on the SSD. Can I re-use the code for windows 8 that I used to put on my HARD disk and the disk, or I have to buy a new complete operating system? Also, I forgot to partition my OS I was installing my computer. It's all on my C: drive. I'm not sure whether that makes a difference or not. Help, please!

You can clone your drive for the new DSS - provided that the SSD is sufficient - or re-install on the SSD.

Whichever you choose, the reactivation will be required and you may need to use telephone activation.
Do not partition the disk or the SSD during installation. Simply identify the empty space and leave the installation partition and format the drive or SSD. The installer can then create a partition of 350 MB system for startup files.
If you choose a clean installation of the SSD, first disconnect the existing drive. This prevents the Setup program using the for old and new installations existing boot partition. You can reconnect and take possession of the old disk after installation in the SSD.

  • Windows OS 8.1 to pass DSS

I'm ready to install a new hard drive, 256 GB SSD in my computer. I have Windows 8.1 with 1 hard drive (2 TB) and I want to add the reader to solid state to upgrade my OS and maybe another program on. I did system restore disks and I have a 1 TB WD external drive to my backup.

    I guess I should:

    1. make a full return to my WD external hard drive

    2. unplug all devices, etc. and remove the original hard drive

    3. install the SSD in the housing where was the original HD

4.B oot by using the system restore disks

5 do a reboot to check that the system has been restored

6 re-install the original HARD disk

    7.??? Format the hard drive?

    8. install my backup of the original HARD drive?

Please note that my SSD 240 GB. My C drive has 202 used and 729 GB free.  D drive has used 15.8 GB and space free 2.20. Total disk HARD is 2 TB.

My ultimate goal is to be back with my operating system and possibly 1 or 2 programs on the SSD drive and everything else on the HARD drive.

I have concerns that something can go wrong that sends me to the top of this well-known stream.

    You input will be appreciated.

    Jim

Yes, I did (4 DVD) system restore disks when I bought the computer. That's what I used to restore the computer to the SSD.

On the disk management screen, it shows drives C and D (recovery Image); then K and L (recovery Image) from the HARD disk.

In other words, the recovery Image is duplicated. Windows is also reproduced, both on the HARD drive.

It would seem logical to remove the duplication on the HARD drive, or perhaps format the HARD drive and launch the backup on my WD external drive drive to restore my files of 'USERS' down to the HARD drive. If you are now completely confused, welcome to the universe of one aged 73 years trying to learn to live in this new world!

I would like to send a screenshot if I could.

    The short "Workaround" to try:

Go to your Control Panel > display icon > Device Manager >

Find, right click and "Uninstall", your Audio driver(s).

Do not delete NOT the driver, just right click and 'uninstall '.

    • Do not restart your computer (yet).

    Next:

    • In Control Panel > Windows Update > change settings > disable the recommended updates... You can add them later if / when you get the 'Important' updates to work.
    • You can click to "Check for Updates" again once, or simply go back to your main "Windows Updates" window and now click on the 'Install' button (on the lower right corner of this window).
    • If the 'glitch' updates, in other words, if you get a red 'Failure' and it seems that one or more of these stupid updates suddenly just not download and start installing like you have said just that he does, click on 'Install' again... Now, the updates should start installing.  If you have some big updates (or many of them), this can take some time.

  • So, Windows does not pass genuine Validation

I have a four-year-old computer on which Windows XP was installed when I bought it.  In recent weeks, at the start, I get a message that Windows failed the genuine validation and Security Essentials will be disabled within 30 days if I do not resolve the problem.  The message then sent me to a Web Site where I can get genuine Windows.  I got the Windows on this computer program because I bought and have been using Security Essentials since it became available.  Why this problem is suddenly surfacing?

    Hi Cliff999,

    1. were you running any hardware or software changes on the computer?

Try the steps from the link below and check off the results: you are prompted to activate Windows XP or Windows Server 2003, each time that you start the computer: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/312295

If this step does not resolve the problem, you can post your request in the Sub forum for assistance: http://social.microsoft.com/Forums/eu/category/genuine

    Hello

As you use Windows Mail, you would normally use an e-mail address provided by your Internet Service Provider (they provide your broadband or the connection dial-up internet).

You will need to contact them on the user name and password.

If you use a different e-mail configuration to what has been provided by your Internet service provider, always in Windows Mail, please let us know (Yahoo, Gmail, AOL).

Here is some information on how Windows Mail should be put in place.

That might jog your memory to do about:

Now, he gets to the Windows logo screen and will not get any further. I tried to repair windows startup and restore among other things. Previously, he was to reach the blue screen and would occasionally work by me it turn off and try again.

Restart your computer and hit F8 repeatedly (once a second should be enough) until you see the menu Advanced Startup Options. Select repair your computer (if this option does not appear you have to start from the Windows recovery disc or the installation disc).
Then select System Recovery Options and run the Startup Repair tool.

Well, I've had the computer for 2 months only and after the restart of this moment, I can't use it anymore.

After having tried to connect, safe mode or normal mode, it has always will attempt to load 'Welcome. '... "and won't do anything just after the connection.

    This is ridiculous.

f the problem occurs even with a new account, then you have an agent who load in normal mode only and which interferes with the normal operation of Windows. Your challenge is to find what it is. Here's how you can do it:-click Start safe mode.
-Type the word msconfig in the search box and press enter
-Uncheck the box each tick on the Startup tab.
-Click the Services tab, then check the box hides the Microsoft services.
-Uncheck the box each remaining tick.
-Physically unplug the device from the Internet.
    -Restart in Normal Mode.
-If this problem, restore the ticks in groups of 8 until you find the culprit.
