  I recently had to do a complete reinstall of Vista Ultimate and all programs, including Microsoft Security Essentials.  I now have frequent problems with not being able to update MS Security Essentials, receive the error Code 0 x 80070002:

  2. What is the security software installed on the computer?

  3. have you made changes on the computer recently?

  4. do you have service pack 3 installed upgrading?

  I suggest you to follow steps M1 and M2 of this article and check if that helps.

  Another queation - I'm looking forward to Windows7. After installation of RegCure - I lost all my pints of system restore. Windows7 will fix this. Dislikes havint use fundction system restore, but it came handy in the past (until I'm able to get current on the updates of Windows XP.)

  husband tired of reformatting my computer after a few problems. The problem started after trying to do an update and the update has been slain at 40% and it has restarted computer and it wouldn't restart. Tried to go on safe mode and tried other things. He did come back to windows once, would not work usb. We have tried to restart the computer and it n go back t widows. We have tried to reformat, let it go overnight because he was taking forever. He said that windows does not have can install windows on the computer. And invite you to try again. What is the problem? Anything we can do?
