Windows Defender start-up question
Since the update of Microsoft OS, I have problems to get Windows defender to start and sometimes it will not.
1. I cleaned the junk files and defraged the hard drive.
2. start Windows Defender with IS turned off and I still will not start most of the time.
3 made regular Virus/Spyware scans with MS - SE (no infected files found never)
4 downloaded and scanned for spyware with Malwarebytes (clean)
5 used Process Explorer to identify what is running during the startup of the program (synchost)
I keep a clean machine and get no error pop ups, or journal entries to identify the problem. The white circle turns right away until I have shut down the program.
I can't hardly get out of this program (unauthorized) I'm impossible to uninstall and reinstall (Trusted Installer)
I n ' t want to reverse engineer this program, I would like it to work. "
Any help would be great. Thank you.

(On Vista) Windows Defender does not start automatically when I turn on the computer - it must be done manually each time. I checked the Options and Protection in real time and boxes / recommended by default are all checked. Defender appears on my list of startup programs.
I have AVG Anti-Virus Free version - is it relevant?
Would appreciate advice, please.
There is a problem with AVG.

Read the above, Google mentions.
If you have Microsoft Security Essentials, AVG, McAfee, Norton, etc. installed, they have a conflict with Windows Defender, or turn it off.
Microsoft Security Essentials has its own integrated version of the defender and it automatically disables the version of Vista in Windows Defender.

Dell Inspiron 14Z 5423 windows 10 start-up questions?
Hello
I've updated my laptop (inspiron 14Z 5423) to windows 10 July 29. After the upgrade, wifi wifi settings and options don't appear in the settings menu. I tried to run the dell diagnostic tools but all results are reported as 'past' (how could it happen?..) and I thought it might be due to driver problems and tried to re - install the wifi drivers. to my surprise, I couldn't find the drivers on the dell site and after making "detect label service for the driver update." ... He says that drivers are up to date.
So... after the disappointment full... I have restored my OS on windows 8.1 and everything worked fine. Once August 1st... a menu jump on my cell phone saying... .your laptop computer is good to upgrade as the team tested DELL and no sign of any problems... blah blah. I thought that maybe this time the upgrade can run and updated my OS... and again disappointed to notice that wifi has not detected in windows 10. .the without option... I tried the "Reset" option in windows 10 to clean install.
This time wifi worked and I am happy and 'sound' has not detected. Yet once ran all the dell diagnostics... all the results show 'passes '. Tried to download the dell sound card drivers... dell site but I could not see anything in the site
When running the tests in the start menu... I met error blue screen and then my laptop could not start and I heard only 3 beeps?
Tried to reset the button located under the latoptop... but no use. All other users 14Z facing the same issue?
Hi douglas,.
Has your laptop it guaranteed? If yes you can call support technique dell to repair the laptop
sgasrock
I think I have a possible solution to replace the cmos battery. Since I have no warranty and most of the tech people say outright what chipset or motherboard failure. Please open the youtube link and find a 'James C' comment that says it fixed 3 beeps changing a cmos battery
I propose this solution... only if you have not guaranteed, and besides I thought to change the cmos battery after purchase

I use Microsoft Security Essentials on Vista x 32. Security Center tells me to start Windows Defender. I click to start, but he tells me that I have to restart my computer or manually start Defender myself. I go to services, and it does not advocate. It basically tells me that my system has no need currently the program or there is another reason, it does not start. Responses tells me that for the error code of course, I met error 0x800106ba later Code it tells me to try to start it manually if it doesn't work I have uninstall Defender and need to reinstall it. Yet when I go to uninstall programs, Defender is not listed. I tried to install it again because it is not listed, I thought I could. When I went to install it, it-error telling me that I have already as it came pre-installed with Vista.
Now, my question. Do I really need Defender since I use Microsoft Security Essentials? Is in fact an older version almost essential? Why it tells me to start it if it is not needed? And if necessary, why it won't start

Hello
MSE and other AVs disable defender; or should do
and uninstall any AV installed before installing MSE
installed 2 AVs cause system problems
read this information on the Defender:
· If you use microsoft security essentials avg avira mcafee norton etc they disable the vista version of windows defender by default
the basics of Microsoft security has its own version of windows defender
and other anti-virus programs use their own particular type of application to scan for spyware and malware
It of nothing to worry and is the default action, which is designed for them to do
If the above does not apply to your machine to read the information on the below link on how to disable the windows defender service in vista or make an autostart to enable
and here is the method to remove it from startup in vista
http://www.groovypost.com/HOWTO/Microsoft/Vista/remove-Windows-Defender-from-Vista-system-startup/
and this is how you would normally activate or disable windows defender in vista from within defenders of own and options tools
http://www.groovypost.com/HOWTO/Microsoft/Vista/disable-Windows-Defender-for-Microsoft-Vista/
and read this information to microsoft:
Error message when you run Windows Defender: «Error 0x800106ba»
http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/931849
and if you need to change startup programs read this information on the other methods of doing it without using defender
using msconfig read this tutorial;
How to use MSCONFIG in Windows Vista
Here's how to use MSCONFIG in Windows Vista to disable some unnecessary programs that load automatically at startup
http://netsquirrel.com/Msconfig/msconfig_vista.html
and also try this program;
This utility, which has a knowledge of auto-starting locations of any startup monitor, shows you what programs configured to run at system startup or login and that the entries in the order of processing windows. These programs include those in your startup folder, Run, RunOnce, and other registry keys. Windows Defender is abandoned and forbids me to control startup programs
I am running Vista on a 32-bit computer. I have Microsoft Security Essentials installed and it works fine. I tried to change my startup from the Control Panel programs today. As soon as I click on this link, a message appears that says that Defender is stopped.
If I click on the link to turn it on, after a few seconds it comes back with an error message. I can't go beyond that point. I don't advocate in my list of programs to uninstall. It is not yet on all programs. I see it in the Program Files folder.
How can I get rid of the Defender, so I can edit my startup programs? It is my understanding that I didn't need a defender with Essentials installed.
TIA
> But the fact remains, I can't in normal user friendly way. How should I do?
This statement is a misconception...
You used to get to the via Windows Defender start-up programs. That's all.
The "msconfig" is a method that you is not worn. This does not mean that it is not "user friendly". You didn't know its existence. That's all.
For an example, everyone will tell you how to get to Windows Defender of
Start < control="" panel=""> etc. etc. TEC.What happens if I tell you, go to Windows Defender by...
Start > Search box, type windows defender > press the Enter key > and this is windows Defender. What happens if I tell you, to create a desktop shortcut of Windows Defender, so next time just click the shortcut.
So which way is easy to use? For the benefits of others looking for answers, please mark as answer suggestion if it solves your problem.

I can not get my work window Defender
I hit the defender of the window and I can not go to work it says contact your computer peron and he says to activate Group Policy
Hello anonymous 334,
Thanks for posting on the Microsoft answers Forums.
Make sure you have Windows Defender active:
Open Windows Defender by clicking on the button start , clicking all programs, and then click Windows Defender.
Click on tools and then click Options.
Under the administrator options, select or clear the check box use Windows Defender and then click Save. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
Do you have any other type of antivirus installed on your computer? What other security products are installed on your host computer (anti-virus, anti-malware, anti-spam, firewall, etc.)?
These can interfere and stop Windows Defender from work. I would try and disable the other product temporarily and see if Windows Defender starts. When you enter the Services (services.msc), the Windows Defender service applet is listed for the automatic start mode? This is shown as disabled, then it never starts.
If it is shown as currently stopped (with automatic or manual startup mode), can manually start you it?You have errors where the viewer in the application log dealing with Windows defender? If so, then that can give you a clue as to what is perhaps the problem.
If please reply back and let us know the results of your tests.
Thank you

Since the update of Thunderbird to 38.* I had nothing but problems with Thunderbird wedging (spinning wheel waiting), a "Mozilla Thunderbird (not answer) ' in the header bar, whiting of window application out and possibly TB box in hell - a small box to appear asking if I want to - close the program, expected so he can resolve itself , or check the internet, then close. I now give the floor it the box to hell (B2H - call it all you want, but I'm cursed every time he pop up!)
I did everything proposed here and nothing suits. I have used Thunderbird for years with all the same files and Add ons WITHOUT problem. On the first day of the 38 update everything has changed. When Mozilla realizes that it is in the upgrade and find the problem!
Here is what I tried with nothing working...
1. I don't have AVG, the only malware bytes and windows defender
2. it still happens in SafeMode with no active add-on.
3. I stopped saving function which slows down the frequency of the sinking, but did not eliminate the problem.
4. I have deleted hundreds of older emails, thinking it was that but who have done nothing.
5. I changed some accounts of POP at the thought of iMAP that was the problem but nothing has changed.
6. I made several attempts to patch both Mozilla support and outdoors on the net. Nothing works. Looking at all the people who have the same problems, I have to say that the problem is handling of file. I noticed that as the issue with others who have multi files and emails. The answer is not to reduce these volumes but to understand why thunderbird managed their fine before and what has changed to make the program hang now? Who should be on your end, taken responsibility. Keep us faithful and solve the problem...Here are my tips...
A. I have several files and thousands of e-mails longer and have manged fines, as matter of fact, Thunderbird has been great. Then like a good stooge I approved the moz and did my upgrade to 38. Never had a problem before the upgrade. After the upgrade, everything went to *.
B. the 38 version upgrade was a big change. When I look in the folder that has been labeled the envoys or Inbox folder (where all emails from each account is collected), all the emails listed would disappear when I moved my mouse over them! Emails disappearing! They were there in records specific e-mail below but not but in the case of head as if it were just a day earlier and with the upgrade. I thought that as an addition on the question and waited for the difficulty that happened not so long ago. Again, which could be a problem of record add-on.
C. the upgrade to 38 were other issues, but if the madness going no problem was not bad enough, the problem seems to be growing with each ' update or bugfix that followed. Don't hold me to it but I think it was in 38.1.2 or 8 (I think that's it. I wasn't paying attention, but if I had known that I would have to tell it, I will!) That's when hanging interminably long. When the program closed at least I got a project saved, then I read on line that the problem was the registration of open messages, I turned the auto reduction. He did change the frequency of the hanging (white screen pause) and timing (where the B2H appears), but he was always there and always!
D. I had hoped with 38.2 there will be improvements. Nothing has changed. I didn't know that 38.3 would make this change/fix, but it's not. If I write all this, so you have what I know as a loyal user since 2007.
E. here is what you need to complete the picture. I'm on a PC running 8.1. on an Intel i7-4770, with 32 GB of ram, now you tell me when you will issue the update to fix the problem! Once again, Mozilla, I suggest you start by looking at how TB 38 manages several emails, files and archives. Not all of us have only one e-mail account. Most of us have been really happy with TB before 38. If you can't find the question, can you show us how to get back to a version prior to 38?
Thanks for listening and hope that helps!

Cannot start Windows Defender error 0x00000fd
Original title: How can I fix error (0x00000fd)?
I also have a problem starting Windows Defender, it just will not open. Can you help me with the question of error and defender?
Thank youHi Mildred DeeCiabatoni,.
Follow these steps:
Method 1: Check if the Windows defender service is running on the computer. Follow these steps:
(a) click Start, type services in the start search box, and then click Services in the list programs.
(b) If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type your password or click on continue.
(c) double-click on the Windows Defender service and then in the box type of start up, click Automatic. Click OK.
(d) make sure that the service is set to automatic and started.
Method 2: Disable the security software on the computer and try to turn on windows defender and check.
Note: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable the antivirus software. If you do not disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network during the time that your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.
Method 3: Follow the steps in the article mentioned below.
