I can scan is no longer on my canon D480 image class. I get the message "windows could not start Windows Image Acquisition (wia) service on computor local e.» Error 1068 the dependency service or group could start

Hello

One thing to check is the following.

Open windows control panel, open administrative tools, and then open Services.  Make sure that the following services (order of th specified below check them) are all showing that status = started and the Startup Type = Automatic

Remote procedure call (RPC)

Detection material core

Windows Image Acquisition

If you need to make a change to one of the above, just right-click the service and select Properties, and then in the drop-down list box next to "Startup Type", select automatic and click on apply to save the changes.  Then click on the Start button.

Kind regards

  • Windows Image Acquisition (WIA) is not listed in Services.msc

I bought a new printer (HP Envy 4502) and it connected wireless to my PC. It prints and copies fine but when I try to scan (the printer and PC), nothing happens - message on printer says "computer does not.

I tried with my firewall off and still nothing. (Use Bullguard security, windows firewall is disabled).

After some research more advice is to check if Windows Image Acquisition is on, but when I look in the list of services there is no Windows Image Acquisition - in alphabetical order, he jumps 'Police Windows Cache Service' to 'Windows Installer' (accessible via the command Services.msc)

I also tried to run sfc/scannow, but who doesn't.

    CHKDSK found no errors.

I tried to download "Windows_Image_Acquisition.reg" and "RestoreWindowsImageAcquisitionWIAWindows7.bat" without success.

What can I do to return WIA?

How can I check what are the other missing services?

Thanks in advance for any help

    Hello Jeff,

Thanks for posting your question on the Microsoft community.

Thank you for details on the question and your efforts to resolve.

'Windows Image Acquisition' service provides image acquisition services for scanners and cameras.

This problem may occur because of damaged or missing Windows files. This can also occur due to incorrect registry settings.

Please refer to the suggestions marked as answer by Dale Qiao on June 16, 2010 and check if it helps.

Note: Serious problems can occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you proceed with caution. For added protection, back up the registry before you edit it. Then you can restore the registry if a problem occurs. Are you sure you got the file name correctly?  WIA.dll is not a standard Windows XP file.  If your Canon printer to a file with this name, it must be included with your Canon printer software.

  • 'Windows Image Acquisition' does not work

This message has been appearing whenever I start my Windows 7 Professional 64 bit OS PC.

I get a dialog box with the option of sending information to Microsoft, but nothing else to give an indication of what the error occurred or what action I might be able to take to correct the situation.

Since I got this message at the start that I was also see a very slow page on some Web sites load.

Is it possible to repair this problem of "reloading" WIA... If so where can I find the right software to download.

    Any suggestions are welcome.

To complete this thread, I have a confession to make!

It seems that the source of the problem was my scanner Canon LiDE 500F omitting "initializing" when starting. The scanner "purrs and snoring" as it initializes during the boot-up... something that I am so used to what I hear is really it... so I didn't notice that this was not the case, doh!

Where the 'pilot' for the scanner does not load when starting because presumably the system failed because it could not 'see' the scanner.

A violin with wired usb on the scanner seems to have solved the problem... much to my embarrassment!

I hope you don't think that I've wasted your time auggy, because tips have led me to the scanner LiDE 500F as the source of the problem, but a physical connection instead of overflow of software problem. Thanks again.

  • Image acquisition turns off in Windows Server 2012

I am running Windows Server 2012.  Kind of a necessity, that I also hosts the website of our company.  All updates are installed, and desktop experience is enabled.  Image acquisition Windows is listed in Services, but was originally set to manual by default.  I tried just to start the service, but it stops automatically after about 30 seconds.  I tried the automatic configuration, but it does not start on its own.  I get no error message, and I checked dependencies, which seem fine departure, because repeatedly referenced in many other assignments.  Fresh ideas?

  • Blocks the execution of the user Image Acquisition interface

I am currently trying to create a user interface that displays images from a camera attached to a microscope with a mobile table.  The user is able to interact with the images and can click on them, which causes the table to move to a new location.  Acquisition is made by calling a DLL, the DLL grey flycapture point camera, using a call library function node.

When I acquire images at 15 frames per second, it has no problem with user input.  However, when I drop the acquisition at 2 frames / second (necessary if you need to have the exposure time), labview seems to take a break from the user interface while the image acquisition is underway.  Interaction of the UI seems possible in the holes between the image acquisitions.

I'm sure that this is happening because there is a kind of blocking going on here.  The program is waiting for the new image to be returned and will not not something else happen while he waits.  I have image acquisition running in a separate, called function from a higher level, VI, which puts the image data in a global variable (I know I know... global variables).  When I need to display the image, I read of the global variable and display it on my form of user interface.

I think I need to run things in separate threads to avoid the problems that I have because I have a dependency that is the cause of blocking.  I'm looking for any suggestions on how I can the architect this.  I have thought about using a VI server to launch the acquisition of the camera and will try to implement this, but I wonder if there is another method that I'm missing here.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!  I use LabVIEW 8.6 on a Windows 7 machine indeed.  I do not use LabVIEW image acquisition module.

    Thank you

    Hey Gerry,.

It's Paul in Ministry here at National Instruments engineering applications. What Paul was referring to a call library function node configuration properties. If you right-click on the node library function call you can click on configure and you should see a window that looks like the image below.

As you can see, you have the option to select run this library in the UI thread or any thread. This is important because there is only a single user interface thread. Therefore, deadlocks can occur when the code is written in parallel, but operations are both occurring in the UI thread. What results is a part of the code has to wait that the other part at the end and so the lock upwards in the user interface. The reason why the call library function node is set to run in the default UI thread is now, because only the security thread functions can be performed in any thread. So before you change this configuration it is strongly recommended that you check that the functions you call are thread-safe. You can also check which configuration, the node library function call is in the color of the node itself. If it is an orange color which means that it is set to run in the UI thread. If it is a pale yellow color, it is set to run in any thread. Let me know if you have any other questions!

  • Problem with setting window of acquisition on 1429 PCIe capture card

    Hi all

Recently, I am using the Basler A504k camera with card PCIe-1429 of goodwill for the acquisition of images at high speed. I found problems with setting the acquisition window in the capture card using Measurement & Automation Explorer.

    1. for example, if the size of the original image is 1280 * 500, if I put the window of acquisition with left 0 and width 1280, everything is OK, but if I set the width to 1279, there will be an error (error 0xBFF6002C FIFO overflow caused the acquisition of stop), if I set the width multiple of 8, there was no error. Could someone tell me why in this case, is it because the packet data transfer for acquisition card rule?

    2. the window of acquisition is set according to the camera image, right? If the camera has also a function of area of interest, the acquisition window setting is always the image coming from the camera.

Attachment is my setting a MAX software.

    Thank you very much

    Hi xiaochunfly,

My bet is 1280 pixels image size is aligned on 32 bytes, and the material may actually go from line to line without breaking the transfers. With the width of the non-aligned countries, he needs to start a new transfer on each line, and this has an additional load on the PCIe bus and the system memory bus. Currently infrastructure IMAQ trying to adjust to any size of border/size possible image regardless of efficiency, it take the material and changes in recent processor Intel chipsets have reduced effectiveness with system memory bus performs under these conditions. So, you can get much better performance if you use line widths. You can also get the latest IMAQ driver because there was changes in the latest few transfer more effective under some of these conditions.

AOI is usually under the framegrabber. If you reduce the AOI who sends the camera, it seems often identical to the framegrabber as if you just had a camera with a smaller sensor. Thus, your AOI in IMAQ must be set to the size of that the camera is sending, unless for some reason you want to capture less of what the camera is able to set up on its own.

  • Vision image acquisition

I have image acquisition via a USB camera to a 12 speed.  The problem I have is to save these images.  If I save these images while acquiring data, the program cannot keep up at this rate.  I need a way to get images to 120 and then save them once the acquisition completed.  I tried to build a table, but it doesn't seem to work (the issue is when I have the array index, I do not get out images).  Any suggestions on this approach or maybe a different approach to achieve this.

    Thank you.

    Hey, gene,

Guess IMAQ Vision + IMAQ USB was used.

The typical error is grouping table of images IMAQ. Do not forget, that the IMAQ image passed as reference, not the image itself. This means, the following code will not work as you expect:

What you need is the following. You must create your buffers before acquisition, then acquire each image in the own buffer:

    It will be useful,

    Andrey.
