Windows key preinstalled 8
Hi, few days ago I bought the Hp Envy 15 j007, now I'm trying to upgrade from windows 8 to 8.1 but I get a message to enter the product key and I have trouble finding the product key. someone told me that the key is in your bios. so if please tell me how to find that and how can I get into the bios to see the product key. see you soon
I just went through last week. This key in the BIOS does not work for the 8.1.
Once you do the 8.1 update, the upgrade may not have installed a 8.1key
What you have to do is: after starting the system 8.1
(1) Windows key + R to bring up the command window run
(2) type SLUI 4 in the command bar and press ENTER.
(3) to dial the number on the screen of your country and read all these numbers on the screen to the voice at the other end
(4) type the numbers of the voice at the other end gives you, and he will activate Windows and install a key to 8.1

Aspire E1 - 572 - original product key preinstalled Windows 8
I bought my Acer Aspire E1-572 in March 2014 with a Windows 8 preinstalled. I upgraded to 8.1, then Windows 10. Then a friend noticed my laptop computer running very slow and proposed to create a separate partition for all my personal files. He wiped everything clean without realizing that preinstalled Windows does not come with a label old-fashioned of the product key for Windows, so now, I have a version of Windows 10 which cannot be activated. The seller referred me to Microsoft, they referred me to Acer, but... I am out of warranty. I'm afraid to try to refresh my laptop because there is no previous version of Windows 8 on left to return to. Pleeeaaaaase HELP!

Contact Toshiba.
The starting point for all Toshiba Recovery option is the Toshiba Acclaim self-service page, which includes a link to recovery media .
If your recovery partition is intact, you can get detailed instructions of two separate pages:
- To restore the original configuration of Windows using the Toshiba Recovery Wizard, follow the instructions of the support Bulletin 98082971.
- To use the Toshiba Recovery Media Creator utility to create your own reinstallation disks, see support Bulletin 98082984.
If none of these options is viable, go on the recovery of Acclaim support page and enter your serial number to begin.

New NB200 with Windows 7 preinstalled Fn shortcuts keyboard does not work
I just purchase the NB200 later with Windows 7 preinstalled (new version with 250 GB hard drive).
However the Fn keys do not work. The machine is straight out of the box, no change.
I have to do something to activate the access keys.
I've heard Hotkey problems with windows 7 and the need to install that package added value of Toshiba.
However I don't is not expected to have to do this on a brand new machine pre-installed.Any help very much appreciated.
Thank you
You are right. New portable computers are delivered with the settings and everything should work fine.
I don't have Win7 on my laptop but I presume that it is similar to Vista, then go to start > all programs > Toshiba > utilities and check if there are shortcuts to restart Flash cards.
Maybe you'll be able to turn it on again.Nothing happens when you press the FN key and hold a few seconds?

How to install the new hard drive and windows key?
Hello
I have a aspire v5-121-c72g32nkk.
I have just updated to Windows 10, don't panic, but I want to upgrade my HD drive to a SSD drive. You can find the steps to do this?
Windows was preinstalled, how I reinstall on another drive?
I have no serial key or whatever it is.
I'm a bit lost, you have an idea?Best,
There are several ways to do this, anyone have product keys, since
If you want to do a clean install:
Windows 7-8 - 8.1 keys are embeeded on your BIOS
Windows 10 use a generic key during the upgrade, so just skip the steps questions about a product key and the first time you connect on the web, it will authenticate to.
You must decide:
(1) do a clean install of your operating system to factory
(2) make a disk - image of the system image and reload
(3) to do a clean install of windows 10
option 2 is the fastest at the end, as you create a copy of your HARD drive and reload it to your PC.
you need a bootable windows 10 (USB or DVD) media and little space on external HARD drive.

I get a popup stating the windows key that I use is not valid.
Activate Windows when already activated?I just did a major update to my computer with a new motherboard, video card and processor, and now I get a popup stating the windows key that I use is not valid. The key on the sticker still gives me the same error. Any advice? Activate Windows when already activated?
If your copy of WIndows was preinstalled, it rests on an OEM license.
These licenses cannot be moved to the new motherboard, except under the conditions of warranty replacement.
You will need to purchase a new complete commercial for Windows license.

Why do I get "this copy of Windows is not genuine. Build 7601, Windows 7 "? Windows was preinstalled on my computer when I bought 7 years ago. This message just started yesterday.
The label on the bottom of my laptop is worn and unreadable. I prepare some restore disks when I bought it all first.
Also, is it safe to use with this message? I am more sensitive to the virus and malware?
When I ran the MGADia.exe, I received the following:

Re-install Windows; key production but no cd
My hard drive crashed without possibility of repair; I got a new but I need to re - install Windows.
I have no Windows cd. However, there are a key production on my laptop. I found some links online, but none that worked. Does anyone know if and where I can download Windows 7 Home premium?
EDIT
Perhaps I should also say that my windows was preinstalled on my laptop. So Microsoft recovery does not work.
It is likely that you can use an another DVD of Win7. In order to make it work, it must match your - home edition/pro. 32/64. Just find someone who has the drive.
The only potential problem is that you may need some driver source it install Win7 does not provide them. Update Windows with other Microsoft products will sometimes bring them also. Most of the time, the installation process itself provides that most everything you need. If you need more, find your download page of the OEM Web site for your model.

Can I use the Windows key from another computer non-working on my computer?
Can I use the Windows key from another computer non-working on my computer? I took the key of this computer and used on my current computer, but I get a message indicating that the key is not authentic, even if it is directly from a previously active computer.
Original title: Activation
Hello
No.; If the operating system on the other came computer preinstalled (Dell, HP, Acer, etc.) you can't use it on another PC.
If the laptop/computer came with preinstalled Windows operating system (Dell, HP, Acer, etc.), this product key provided with your computer/laptop to the OEM license preinstalled and is not transferable.
OEM license/product key (systems of operating pre-installed on Dell, HP, etc.) is related to the first machine it is installed on and dies when dies of this machine.
Only retail Operating System license that you buy and install yourself, are allowed to be transferred to another machine.
And retail licenses also can be installed on a machine at one time.
See you soon.

who, relying on the fact of anyting, windows key indicator and button 'r '?
Last night, someone with a very strong accent called, addressing me by name, saying that he had been contracted to communicate with people and to warn of a serious problem that affects many computers. He asked me to press my windows flag and the 'r' key at the same time. Stupid me, but then became suspicious and hung up on top of him. He never called back, and I turned off my computer. I have him give access to something? What should I do?
I'm sure it was a call from the scam, but you hung up before that they could do something malicious on your computer. By pressing the Windows key + R just displays the screen "Run". It is completely harmless to bring up "Run", but if you had continued to follow all of the steps of that this guy was about to give you, it would probably have tried to access your computer remotely or load a virus or some other atrocity. I'm glad that you hung up!

Help, pleaseSetting up Satellite A500 with Windows 7 Home
Any solution?
Hey,.
> I have reinstall fron the original whole disk fab and 2 drivers as an answer on the forum, but nothing works clearly!
What is original fab?
You have exactly? Have you used the original Toshiba Recovery disk?Well, I think that if a unique key doesn t work it is not much what you can expect exchanging the keyboard because the individual keys are not replaceable.
What you can try is to test the situation with an external keyboard. You can use the Windows key correctly?
If yes the internal keyboard is faulty and should be replaced to an authorized service they can order spare parts Toshiba. -
When can we expect a new product range with Windows 7 preinstalled to be released?
Hello
It is very good and interesting question but only the Toshiba marketing department can offer an exact answer to this.
Somewhere I read that Microsoft will release Windows7 to October 22 and I imagine that the first models of Toshiba with Windows7 will be offered in November.
No doubt Toshiba will offer 500 all A500, P500, L500, U500 series and all the other new business line portable Portege and Tecra. In the month or two we will know more about it.
You have information when released the Win7?

14 - r205nx: I lost my windows key
Hello
My PC was with windows original 10.
I do format, after that I lost windows key.
I'm looking for my old keyWith the recent PC, the product key is embedded in the motherboard UEFI firmware and is not printed on a sticker on the PC.
HP keeps no record of individual product associated with individual computers keys, so they are unable to provide you with the key.
You must be able to boot in Windows or WinPE to run a utility to retrieve the key.
You must use this link to create an installation of Win10 media: 10 Windows Installer using the media - Windows help authoring tool
Then, starting in the media. Once there, you should see if you can download and install this utility to retrieve the key: Showkey - Windows 10 Forums
